SRH won't qualify for playoffs in this season of IPL. Yesterday's match was a disaster for them. None of their batters were able to stay put and lead the chase. Ofcourse 178 was a big score on that pitch but I expected them to chase it. Abishek Sharma did his level best but that shot was not good enough.

They don't have the team balance. Abhishek Sharma and Umran Malik performed well so far this season, and the investment of so many years finally seems to be paying off for SRH. But the same can't be said about some of the other younger players such as Abdul Samad. They dropped David Warner and Sandeep Sharma for poor performance, and these two have excelled so far for their new franchises (I would say that dropping Warner was a very stupid move). Gujarat picked up Rashid Khan, and he has also done well.

First match between CSK and GT is in progress and its completely one sided so far. CSK batting first gave target of 133 runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored half century and 39 runs from Narayan Jagadeesan other then that no batsmen troubled GT bowlers. GT will win this game quite comfortably as they are 41/0 in 5 overs.

Royals vs Super Giants

I believe this should be a win for LSG. they are in a better form compared to Rajasthan Royals. but IPL has been really unpredictable in recent times. LSG really needs to win this otherwise they will make things really hard for themselves and the same goes for Rajasthan Royals. I believe if Rajasthan Royals lost this there is a good chance of them not being able to qualify in the next round.

I have to say it was very convincing when for Gujarat Titans. They have played really well in this IPL and for a new team, it is certainly a great performance. For CSK I think there is not much hope in this IPL. I think it will be better if they try to play better in the next IPL with a quite new squad because with this squad they are not going to get much done. And about Gujarat Titans, I am quite hopeful.

Rajasthan Royals won by 24 runs aginst Lucknow. Both team are better playing this season in IPL.Today match was very interesting. Unfortunately Lucknow didn’t finish as well.Both team are very strong in IPL this season. Both team's batrers and bowler's performance is so good this season. Lucknow amd RR  will be played in next round.I hope Lucknow will win in Their next match.

Today I am very disappointed in the performance of Lucknow. Although I know that winning the second innings by batting is a bit difficult now. But Lucknow's first 3 batsmen were a complete failure today. Quinton de Kock can't play well. Fans always have high expectations for an experienced and T20 specialist player like him. If de Kock and Rahul had been able to build a good partnership today, Lucknow would have been able to win this match too.

Two big teams MI and CSK already out of competition because they completely fail to give any solid performance and two new teams doing good job with having top rank now RCB is unpredictable, and they are fighting hard for last spot, but they have to give their best if they want to reach in last four.

Tomorrow we have one very interesting match between DC vs PBKS winner from this match can take fourth spot and skip RCB down even many ups and downs coming but now four teams already out of competition remaining are still giving their best.

Lucknow Super Giants were struggling against Rajasthan Royals, because in both the matches Lucknow Super Giants made the win. In the previous match it was Chahal who turned the match in an unexpected time. This time Boult have set a good beginning taking early wickets during the powerplay which is a much needed one and that increases the pressure to score runs as the target is close to 180 runs.

Sanju Samson knows how to use Trent Boult. The latter is a double edged sword. Boult is very effective, when he bowls up front. But in depth overs, he leaks too many runs and can be wayward. When he was with Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma had no idea on how to use him optimally. Samson has devised a strategy, where he would ask Boult to get 3 overs in the initial power play, and the sole remaining over somewhere in the middle. This has worked well for Rajasthan Royals so far. Overall, I am also quite impressed with the captaincy of Samson so far.

Yes, these two new teams have performed exceptionally well in their first season of IPL. In my opinion the chances of these two reaching the finals is alo very high. DC and PBKS have both won their previous matches but in my opinion PBKS has not been the consistent side. I feel today DC will win the match comfortably and also confirm their position for the playoffs.

There is no continuity in Punjab's performance. The main reason for this is the poor performance of their bowlers. Despite the very good performance of the batsmen, Punjab lost only because of the poor performance of the bowlers. Punjab lost to Gujarat and Rajasthan after giving a huge target of 190 runs. And so in today's match, Delhi seems to be the favorite.

Bangalore has very low chance to qualify for playoff round. They are having the disadvantages for their negative net run rate. Delhi and Punjab has a match today. Both are favourite for the 4th rank now. They are in better position than RCB for their positive Nrr. Both teams has almost same chance to win the match today. The winner will get the 4th position in the leaderboard today. However, I think we need to wait for the result of last two games of group stage to know that who will be the 4th qualified team for playoff round.

Royal Rajasthan have very good season and in today match they have done good score without help of Jos Buttler which is another big achievement from them and after having very decent target of 178 their bowlers also done good job specially Trent Boult which is one of the best bowler with new ball have completed his duty and remove Quinton de Kock and Ayush Badoni in his second over which break backbone of LSG and after this shock they were never able to stable for this chase and lost this match by 24 runs and now stay at third spot of league table.

Even their play-off chances are still bright, but now it's time for them to have some better planning for last few matches as they are new and already done good job in this season.

I really don't know if a player can only be selected just because he has good captaincy skills. Unless he is MS Dhoni of course.
But still, MS Dhoni proved his worth with his batting and wicketkeeping. So only being a good Captain is not going to be enough if he does not perform.

Eventually, the spot will be taken by some other player because people are always going to need good performers. And he has a lot of competition right now. So, it will be really hard to catch the selector's eye without having a good performance to back him up.

DC and PBKS are playing an important match right now. DC batting first have given a target of 159 runs and it's not a big one. Good knock from Mitchell Marsh and sarfraz nothing else from other 7 batsmen that into crease. Jonny Bairstow need to play well in order to take his team to victory.
