My brain tells me that Khabib will win, but my heart hopes that Justin. Every cells on my body says that it is hard for anyone to upset Khabib Nurmagomedov, the only issue i have is that he usually does not check leg kicks and taking those nasty kicks from Justin Gaethje could change a fight but he will fight intelligently as he is an avid fight fan and he knows the strength of Justin Gaethje and i am expecting him to circle away from his left hook and his right calf kick and the biggest problem with Justin Gaethje is that he is not versed in BJJ and never used his wrestling inside the cage even though he was a decorated wrestler.

Sad to realize that Khabib has ended career. 29-0 is a great record, but he and his father dreamt about 30-0.
Just when I saw he threw that leg om Gaethji, I understood it was a matter of seconds before submittion. To nad we will never see his fight against Ferguson.

Sad to realize that Khabib has ended career. 29-0 is a great record, but he and his father dreamt about 30-0.
What about a $ 100 million fight? Conor's revenge is inevitable, (and after the incident in Moscow, Conor helped Khabib with motivation) The UFC is aiming for a rematch of Conor and Khabib, such a conclusion can be easily drawn from Dana White's speech. Conor really wants to fight with Khabib, it is very important for him, he is literally obsessed with him. Earlier, Khabib stated that Conor needs to win 10 victories, and that money does not matter, (although his father spoke of $ 100 million). It would be an interesting drama considering that after Conor's last win, Floyd Mayweather joined the dialogue... He asked 23 million Instagram followers which fight they wanted more (Floyd posted two posters of his potential fights against Conor and against Khabib). Therefore, I think this is not the end of the story with Khabib ..

The Eagle finally landed guys so please let him enjoy his retirement. He has done a lot for the fans , for the show and for the mma itself so please lets respect his decision and lets be glad that we were here to watch him alongside his career and bringing us so many memories. Personally I wanted to see GSP vs Khabib but no matter who you bring, there is no match for Khabib as his pace is insane and today whenever Gaethje hit a punch, Khabib was getting mad and more aggressive so do you really want to see someone hurting Khabib ?

I believe that he is tired enough from his carrier and that 29-0 record is it a great achievement. 30-0 is pretty easy for him, he can still make a good fight with any fighter, or easier for him to fight to unknown UFC player...But I don't think that Khabib has that kind of mindest just like many others did in order to keep the record being undefeated/undisputed. Khabib proves a lot in UFC history, maybe it was time for him to have some peace of mind.

Yas Island witnessed Khabib defending his UFC lightweight title.
a record 29 fight without defeat, really not an easy fight. I am curious about who will be able to beat Khabib in the next challenge.

~ Khabib won in second round Khabib forces Gaethje to tap out with a triangle choke finish. The wrestling pedigree everyone was speculating about Justin Gaethje we saw the levels Khabib Nurmagomedov is and no one would defeat him, i was personally not expecting a retirement by Khabib Nurmagomedov because i am a die hard fan the moment i saw his first fight in the UFC and i was following his career and i was blessed to meet him personally during UFC 242 and he is the nicest person in MMA along with Ben Askren whom i met when he was fighting for One FC and i will be travelling to Sildi when the cornona thing is over and my personal issues is sorted i would like to meet him again in his hometown. Khabib is the GOAT and for the fight fans he broke his foot three weeks back and never mentioned it and he dominated from start till the finish.

Everyone has his hope riding on Justin to at least give Khabib a good fight, but just like the rest of them, Khabib is too much, the pressure and relentlessness he give Justin, he doesn't want to give him any breathing room. And after Justin throw that low kick, Khabib shoot for a one leg and after that, it was Khabib's territory.
Sad to hear though that he is retiring, but he has clean up the decision. And we all know how tight he is with his father, so let's respect his decision.

Khabib is on his height of performance and I know the loss of his father has emotional effect on him but that's not a reason to take a retirement. Specially when he is having a good career and is still in a fighting age. He can easily fight 5 more years and create more history. Death comes to everyone and he's just heartbroken, a good consultation may bring him back to the ring.

It's hard for him to fight without his father in his side but I know that this last fight his father was with him to still remain at the glorious victory of his son. It's sad to hear that a talented man like Khabib will end this sooner than expected but it was his own decisions and yeah we should respect it. Sad to hear that his father lost in this pandemic. I guess it's more of an acceptable reason to retire considering his father was always with him when he was beginning up to his prime and undefeated streak. I don't think he'll ever comeback (I wish he will but I think Khabib is always true to himself and has one word) and I think he decides this months ago before announcing it today.

He will never comeback to fight in the octagon again as he is a man of his words, especially when it comes to his parents. So if he promised his mom, that he will never fight again without his father , I believe him, as parents are everything you have so enjoy spending time with them like Khabib said. For him is not about the money , he was fighting for passion and respect so walking away now was the best decision. The world right now has a shape of an eagle , enjoy it.

To be honest, I wasn't aware that his father has past away. The sad part is that he is a victim of the corona virus, so that really hurt Khabib and his family. Yes, his father was in every step of Khabib and part of his success was due to his Father guidance and training. And retiring with no one even close to defeating him (29-0), truly one of the greats we have seen stepping on UFC, and I doubt that we will see someone like him, so dominant. Just hope that he will reconsider his position in the future. He is still young and at his prime.

It's hard to believe that a legend like Khabib would be able to just walk away like that. We've seen it many times in combat sports where a fighter announces their retirement only to come back a few months later. We've seen Floyd Mayweather retire several times and he kept coming back. Tito Ortiz and Fedor Emilianenko are two recent examples in MMA. It does feel a bit different with Khabib because he's doing it for a very personal reason but I expect Dana to throw as much money as he can at him to tempt him into coming back.

Dana will certainly create a new storyboard for lightweight after Khabib's retirement. This might be Conor's chance again or it might not hehehe.

I agree, I'm sure everyone is not expecting to hear this from Khabib because he is the best we have right now. But the emotional toll from his father's death is too much even for a fighter like him. I don't know if there is enough money on the table that will make him change his mind because he also mentioned that he promise his mother not to fight anymore. So it open up that division again, with Conor at top again with his brandish trash talk.

I was expecting his victory today but not his total retirement in the UFC. Anyway, it was all his decision and people in the UFC respected that especially those who supported him from the start. what a great fighter and a great example for the fighters who wanted to be like him. Undisputed and could be the goat of UFC if they have some title like that.
