I'll be putting my predictions up closer to the event, however here are my early leans:

Israel for the reasons discussed at length above. Zhang Weili will likely have the advantage, since Carla will look to wrestle, but I've said before that Zhang's grappling ability is underestimated, and she has a rather large frame for the division. I think Dustin wipes the floor with Chandler, I'm quite surprised that the odds are so close as they are. Chandler is good, and has constant pressure, but Poirier has been absolute brilliant for a number of years now, beating some of the biggest names in the game.

The only chance Chandler has in my opinion would be through volume, but then I can't see him lasting with what Poirier is going to throw at him, at least last, and pump out the same volume as he usually does.

Ok, thank you very much Welsh, i appreciate your input Man, ive betted on some of this fights before remembering to ask for opinions here, and i am happy that from the three fight you predicted on, my current bet agrees with two and disagrees with one.

My current bet agrees with Israel and Zhang weili coming out as winners, but disagrees with Dustin,
Anyways, i am waiting for more of your inputs on other fights as well..
And i am also waiting for more input from the general users in this thread, hopefully, maybe i will have to adjust some of my bets based on opinions here since am still very new to UFC fights and don't have concrete knowledge of some of the fighters yet.

Hey, if I was that good at predicting these fights, I'd be a millionaire. However, Dustin is actually one of my more confident picks. I'd say Zhang would be my least confident, which if you look at the odds that the bookies have set out, they disagree with me there. I just don't see Dustin losing. Chandler has a chance in volume, but like I said I think Dustin is a little bit heavy handed for him, and ultimately he's not going to be able to pump that volume out if he's getting cracked hard.

Dustin has an incredible record, take a look at his losses, and it's literally from some of the best fighters out there. Obviously, the recent one's being Khabib, and Charles Olivera. However, even going further back it's against some of the best, and most dangerous fighters. Then he has wins over some of the greats, the obvious one being Conor. Chandlers career in the UFC is rather short, and while he's had great success outside of it, I just think he struggles against the heavy hitters. I actually thought Fergusson looked very good, until he got that knockout, and I think that knockout was more luck than anything else. It was just perfectly placed, and it seemed to be a distance finding kick rather than a planned attack, and Fergusson just walked into it. Before that, Chandler was getting out punched.

Poirier vs Chandler would be exciting and some articles said that it could be the 'fight' of this year.
That does not look like a fight of the year to me. I think it is easy to predict a winner here - Poirier. Because Chandler is overrated. Chandler, a master of wrestling, wont use that advantage over a pure striker like Poirier, and will be knocked out. Chandler should have stayed in Bellator. He was a champ there, but now is 2-2 in UFC, lost to every good opponent. Who has he beaten? Old Ferguson? Hooker, who has lost 4 out of 5 last fights. And Poirier, who has only lost by subs to a submission master like Khabib and Oliveira (if we take last 5-8 years).
I very much disagree with your certainty on Dustin Poirier will be the winner. Yes he will be more favored by the fans and the bettors, however, Michael Chandler should never be underestimated after he showed everyone that he can fight against Justin Gaethje and never surrender.

I am not saying that any fighter should be underestimated. But Poirier is just better Cheesy Since Chandler was signed to UFC, where are his big wins over current top fighters? Indeed he did not surrender against Gaethje, but he did not win Cheesy Took him two round to knockdown old Ferguson. KOed Hooker, ok, a win, but Hooker has a victory only against Haqparast, who is not even in top15. And a win by decision. And most important, why Chandler prefer boxing over wrestling, when he is a top wrestler?

I'm just watching the press conference now. All eyes on Izzy, vs Alex obviously. Hoping that the comments yesterday are accurate, and Izzy has come in with a more serious, and level head for this fight.

Chandlers in the UFC to make money, and he probably knows he hasn't got a long career in it. Therefore, I think he's adopted a more entertainment based fighting style, since he definitely was a wrestler before coming into the UFC. Although, it's worked for him. Even if he reverted back to his old style against Poirer, I don't see him getting the takedown. Dustin has underestimated takedown defense, and isn't a slouch in grappling either. The only time he looked proper out of depth was against Charles, and Khabib which is like a given considering their credentials.

To bad Chandler will as usually prefer boxing instead of grappling Cheesy

Interesting notice. Story of a three brothers. Once there were three African brothers that rules UFC. Heavyweight champion - Francis Ngannou, middleweight champion - Israel Adesanya, welterweight champion - Kamaru Usman. Older brother has issues with UFC and his contract isnt re-signed (accorting to 2022). He is yes and no champion right now. Younger brother has lost his belt in 2022. Now it is time for a middle brother to defend his belt, in 2022.

I kinda like how Adesanya handled himself for this press conference.  He was just being himself, without the cringe and without all the big talk.  He was just authentic and real overall.  I hope to see more of it.  The big talk is getting old.  I mean it was good when he was new to the UFC and rising through the ranks.  But now?  Nope.
It's interesting to see. I guess I'll wait until his walk out before I confidently back this; however, it might just be that his previous opponents he didn't think they stood much of a chance, which he proved on the night. However, Alex has knocked him out twice before, so it's a different kettle of fish so to speak. Might be taking it a little more serious, and therefore we might actually see the best of Izzy.

I just want it to be a good fight, I don't want any flash knock outs, I want to see Izzy pressed, and under pressure, and as long as it's a good fight I won't be too upset of any result. Naturally, I'm routing for Izzy, but I must admit I've quite liked what I've seen from Alex before inside, and outside the octagon.

Yeah it's easy to get hyped witn Alex Pereira as he KO'd Adesanya in kick boxing with the bigger gloves.  So that speaks a lot for his powerrr.  With these smaller gloves, it won't take a whole lot for him to knock somebody out.  Watch him vs Sean Strickland.  All it took was mostly arm strength without a whole lot of wind up.

Buuut then it's Adesanya.  He'll play his own game and we'd end up saying:  What did everybody expect?  Of course it's gonna be Adesanya via unanimous decision...

I only follow a couple of these fighters but below are my picks. I think Dustin Poirier is on top of his game right now and looking to continue on the success he’s had since meeting McGregor in the ring.

The Adesanya fight is the most interesting fight in the card for me. I think he has a lot at stake in this fight and has probably done everything he can to be ready for it. He’s trying to correct the biggest mistake in hos fighting career and I think it will be a great fight.

9. Poirier, Dustin vs Chandler, Michael        --  Poirier, Dustin
11. Adesanya, Israel vs Pereira, Alex         -- Adesanya, Israel

Yeah, although Strickland didn't exactly make it hard for him. In fact, it was probably one of the most stupid things I've seen a fighter do, especially since coming into the fight he was talking about head movement, and staying out of range. That was quite funny, as I'm not the biggest fan of Strickland either.

Izzy has the skill set to do it, and like I said before in their previous fights Izzy was winning both up until he wasn't. That's how much power Alex has, but Izzy also dominates him in every aspect, up until he gets knocked out. If he has improved, which I think he has ten fold since then, he should be able to avoid getting knocked out, and have a dominant performance. At least, that's what I think will happen. Take a look at Izzy in those older fights, and look at his recent performances. He's basically always on his toes, and ready to get on out of there if required. It's what has made his performances look easy, but also somewhat boring for the fans.

It is my belief that every single person can be the best version of themselves when they are being themselves and are not overthinking or overdoing anything. I think that’s what Adesanya did in the press conference. The fact that a fighter is actually focusing on his craft rather than thinking about how to get the fans behind him is always a pleasant sight. It is my personal belief that Israel Adesanya is really motivated to win this fight and I am certain that he will give his maximum effort to achieve this goal. It is true that he was a lot more interesting at the start. In spite of this, he has now lost that special interest that people had in him before.

I would agree that doesn’t seem like himself heading into this fight. I think he may even be a little afraid. In their face off I felt like I could feel the fear in him. Hopefully he has grown a lot since their last fight and is able to take home a W. It seems a bit like he’s fighting for his legacy here and I’m a little worried if he loses again it could be catastrophic for his mental health.
I think Adesanya is mentally very strong maybe one of the mentally strongest in his division, but he can seem arrogant sometimes.
This fight will finally show if he is material for legendary and hall of fame status in future or not.

This time I agree with most of your predictions, but I think that Adesanya vs Pereira fight can go both directions.
I just hope both of them give 100% and let the best man win, if that is Pereira I will give him full respect he deserves.
Best underdog win for me could be Ryan Spann against Reyes, I have no idea why this odds when Reyes has three loses in a row.

Now UFC 281 (I am so excited) here is my picks and predictions

Israel Adesanya VS Alex Pereira

The stake odds for this fight are 1.45 for Adesanya and 2.80 for Pereira, For me, Alex Pereira could be a threat to Izzy and many people believe it because of their past fight in kickboxing where Pereira knockout Adesanya, but for me, we can not base our prediction because of that kickboxing fight and this is MMA anything can happen in here it got different rules and I think Israel Adesanya is very accustomed to that which is it is not great to give an impression where Pereira will knock out Adesanya easily, Israel Adesanya has good striking, pretty much the good striking in this division, we can see that he can surely knock out his opponent in the past, but right now, he is collected and can control that urge now by winning the fight technically, so my pick is Israel Adesanya,

Carla Esparza VS Weili Zhang

The stake odds for this fight are 4.10 for Esparza and 1.29 for Weili, Even though Zhang Weili has lost to Rose Namajunas, 2 times now, It doesn't mean she would lose again in their 3rd match, right now I have seen the growth of Weili, from her 1st fight against Joanna Jędrzejczyk was a close match but that devastating punch of Weili deformed the faced of Joanna Jędrzejczyk, while on their 2nd clash Weili now has the arsenal of takedowns, that losses the momentum of Joanna Jędrzejczyk, and with this fight the new Zhang Weili against Esparza I will surely go with Weili,

Dustin Poirier VS Michael Chandler

The stake odds for this fight are 1.48 for Poirier, and 2.90 for Chandler, For me even though both of these fighters have grappled or wrestled, they haven't seen using it more often they tend to their striking prowess or box a lot, but for me, Dustin Poirier has a decent striking than chandler and quite has the technical advantage than Chandler as well, for me, I would go with Dustin Poirier,

Erin Blanchfield VS Molly McCann

The stake odds for this fight are 1.24 for Blanchfield while 4.60 for McCann, the fighting kitten Erin Blanchfield, well for both of these fighters even though Molly McCann who is a friend of Paddy the Baddy, doesn't have any submission wins yet, while Erin Blanchfield has, and has the decent ground game, but Molly can sometimes surprise us, and pretty much she has the power to knock out her opponent for sure, but I am siding with the more well-rounded fighter, which is Erin Blanchfield,

-snip
Grin
according to mmafighting.com alex beat Adesanya twice in kickboxing, but today Adesanya will want revenge, but if Adesanya loses today in the UFC it will be very sad and humiliating for him, I see a lot of people laughing when talking about the possibility of Adesanya losing and looking at what Adesanya said in the interview it seems to me that he is not very confident that he will win, the guy said a lot that I didn't understand at all

bookmakers are putting him as a favorite and there is a big difference in odds:

alex = @2.70
Adesanya = @1.47

but i still believe that alex managed to win
They are all opinion base so we're split on whoever might win but the odds speak for it.
Some say Pereira is confident and has power and striking accuracy also, the guy comes from a humble beginning and is very hungry for success and he wants Adensanya's success also.

Adensanya's advantage is the long experience and speed. He already said he may not give us showmanship but will stick to his game plan to win. Alex could become aggressive as he always does and Izzy might just wait for a mistake.

I will be going for my picks like Weili and Chandler also, I think the two will have success in thier match.

Slow death, I know that Israel Adesanya is looking for revenge. I think that’s what makes him a lot more dangerous. As for the last one, it is clear that Israel Adesanya will face bloody opprobrium. He has already lost twice to this opponent. This time he has to take his revenge and everyone is really confident that he is about to win this fight. And he is also very confident. The odds are also in his favour. Now, if he does not win after all this, it is going to be really embarrassing. It might even be a big black spot in his career as well. That is going to put some added pressure on him.

the fight is about to start, and i see a lot of comments and analysis on many websites about this fight, although most comments give Adensanya as the winner i still think alex can win this fight, alex made a good transition from muay thai for mma, he is quite tall and technical and even if Adensanya is a skilled fighter, I still think alex will win the fight. in any case, it's not long before the fight and we'll see who will be the winner, I hope Adensanya doesn't seek revenge because that would only make him lose early

Now UFC 281 (I am so excited) here is my picks and predictions

Israel Adesanya VS Alex Pereira

The stake odds for this fight are 1.45 for Adesanya and 2.80 for Pereira, For me, Alex Pereira could be a threat to Izzy and many people believe it because of their past fight in kickboxing where Pereira knockout Adesanya, but for me, we can not base our prediction because of that kickboxing fight and this is MMA anything can happen in here it got different rules and I think Israel Adesanya is very accustomed to that which is it is not great to give an impression where Pereira will knock out Adesanya easily, Israel Adesanya has good striking, pretty much the good striking in this division, we can see that he can surely knock out his opponent in the past, but right now, he is collected and can control that urge now by winning the fight technically, so my pick is Israel Adesanya,

if Alex Pereira wins this fight, people who bet on him will have an excellent profit, as the odd is @2.80 so it would be a good profit and the risk is also not that high if someone bets that Alex Pereira will win this fight. although there are many people who are convinced that Adesanya, they are saying that because Adesanya is more experienced and has good results in the UFC then he will win without much difficulty, even the bookmakers then analyze it that way. but i think alex will surprise and will win

Yup agree with all of those picks and they wouldn't be that bad to parlay together for a small bet and make it a more interesting event.  Wink  But I say it 'wouldn't be that bad' rather than 'really good' as I feel like there's gonna be a pie shitter out of those 4.  It could either be Adesanya or Poirier.  As for the girls, they're close to locks imho.  Esp Weili..  I don't think Esparza will see R5.  This ain't gonna be like Namajunas.

The stake odds for this fight are 1.45 for Adesanya and 2.80 for Pereira, For me, Alex Pereira could be a threat to Izzy and many people believe it because of their past fight in kickboxing where Pereira knockout Adesanya, but for me, we can not base our prediction because of that kickboxing fight and this is MMA anything can happen in here it got different rules and I think Israel Adesanya is very accustomed to that which is it is not great to give an impression where Pereira will knock out Adesanya easily, Israel Adesanya has good striking, pretty much the good striking in this division, we can see that he can surely knock out his opponent in the past, but right now, he is collected and can control that urge now by winning the fight technically, so my pick is Israel Adesanya,
.
Adesanya vs Pereira

This fight is going to be very interesting. This is going to keep fans very interested until the very end because it is a really entertaining main event. I believe that the outcome of this fight is most likely to be in favor of Israel Adesanya. Because I know he has been beaten by Alex Pereira before, but that was in kickboxing. This is going to be in the UFC main event, so obviously things are going to be different. And I know a lot of people are saying that Israel Adesanya has become boring. But I genuinely think that this boring approach is going to save him in this fight against Alex Pereira.

Carla Esparza VS Weili Zhang

The stake odds for this fight are 4.10 for Esparza and 1.29 for Weili, Even though Zhang Weili has lost to Rose Namajunas, 2 times now, It doesn't mean she would lose again in their 3rd match, right now I have seen the growth of Weili, from her 1st fight against Joanna Jędrzejczyk was a close match but that devastating punch of Weili deformed the faced of Joanna Jędrzejczyk, while on their 2nd clash Weili now has the arsenal of takedowns, that losses the momentum of Joanna Jędrzejczyk, and with this fight the new Zhang Weili against Esparza I will surely go with Weili,
.
Esparza vs Wieli

I don’t think I have to talk much about this fight. This is obviously going to be a win for Weili. We all remember what she did to Joanna. Joanna had a really big forehead after that fight because of the swelling. Weili is very skilled, and I predict this should be a win for her.

Dustin Poirier VS Michael Chandler

The stake odds for this fight are 1.48 for Poirier, and 2.90 for Chandler, For me even though both of these fighters have grappled or wrestled, they haven't seen using it more often they tend to their striking prowess or box a lot, but for me, Dustin Poirier has a decent striking than chandler and quite has the technical advantage than Chandler as well, for me, I would go with Dustin Poirier,
.
Poirier vs Chandler

I also agree with you that the odds are correct. And I think Dustin Portier is honestly better than Chandler. Are also okay. But in no way I believe this fight is going to be one-sided. And I think this can be a fight where both fighters are well balanced in terms of skill criteria.

Erin Blanchfield vs Molly McCann

I think Erin Blankfield has a better record compared to Molly McCann. To be honest, I don’t know much about these fighters. But whatever I have seen from these two fighters, I can say that Irene Blankfield has better technique compared to Molly McCann. So, I am choosing to follow the odds here.

Good Luck guys... Smiley

Well, if he wins that is but indeed Alex Pereira does have a chance and I really admit that but pertaining to the knowledge of Israel Adesanya with the MMA, this is not Kickboxing anymore which is Israel Adesanya's turf so he will be more convenient with this, but we can never know if Alex Pereira will have a surprise for Adesanya it could also be takedowns because most of Pereira's fight was just round 2 or 1, the only one lasted was    Bruno Silva, but just like Adesanya both weaknesses was on the ground, Alex Pereira only lost was against Quemuel Ottoni with a rear-naked choke, it could also possible for Adesanya to do it, but if not a good old passion Adesanya victory could also be good but there is no room for mistakes here, 1 wrong move and goodbye middleweight belt,

Well, this could be like most of Israel's Adesanya fight, all that they are saying are boring winnings of Adesanya, but I can feel that we will be surprised by the outcome of this fight for sure, Israel Adesanya really felt that punch of Alex Pereira back then for sure, he will remember that and that will trigger something in him to never lost in this match,

For me, Weili just changes s much, and right now training her ground game can surely give her an edge over an opponent that didn't do much on the ground, especially if she fights Namajunas now, that would be insane, and the style of Namajunas change aswell when she fought Carla Esparza she did do a thing so much that she though the people are booing Esparza, the thing is they are Booing her, so taking on Namajunas again will be a great comeback

-snip-

I got to say take it with a grain of salt, it is what I think may happen regarding each of that fight base on what I see between the fighters and I would say good luck with your bet,

Right. Food ordered, going to be delivered hopefully, at the time of the early prelims starting if I've played my cards right. Really looking forward to tonight, and I'm even hyped for the fights that aren't the main event, we've got some wars tonight I feel. Anyhow, onto my predictions for the night:

Israel Adesanya
Weili Zhang
Dustin Poirier
Chris Gutierrez
Claudio Puelles
Brad Riddell
Dominick Reyes
Erin Blanchfield
Wellington Turman
Ottman Azaitar
Silvana Gómez Juárez
Mike Trizano
Montel Jackson
Nicolae Negumereanu

My betting slip includes:

Erin Blanchfield
Dominick Reyes
Israel Adesanya
Weili Zhang
Dustin Poirier
Karolina vs Gomez to go the distance

I'm pretty confident on that betting slip, except for the Karolina, and Gomez going the distance. Then, it would be Dominick Reyes. Other than that, fairly confident. Obviously, main event anything could happen, but honestly I couldn't bet against Izzy despite the odds. Probably the best odds you'll get on Izzy too, and they still aren't great.

Amazing face offs between Adesanya and Pereira who was wearing face mask with paint, maybe from some tribe in Brazil but it looked very cool.
This should be amazing event to watch and it is starting soon in few hours so better get ready your beer and popcorns.
My final decision for main event is, fight is not going long distance and I think Pereira can beat Adesanya and take over the title.

I think I sensed some nervous energy from Izzy also. Swinging his arm about, and just looked a little bit nervy. I'm sure it won't translate too much into the fight, as muscle memory kicks in, but it's interesting to see. I've not seen Izzy like this in a long time, his whole demeanour has sort of changed going into to this. Not sure, if he's worried or just hyper focused.

Man, it's going to be one hell of a nervous night leading up to it. I've not experienced that in a long time, probably the last time for me was Fury vs Wilder 1, which is a bloody long time ago. It always makes fight nights more special. Just hoping it lives up to it, and Izzy doesn't get on his bike too much, and look to point fight.
