Sometimes I feel that the Sri Lankan team is sliding to oblivion. Given their recent performances, I don't think that they can remain competitive against the top teams in cricket. Hard to believe that this is the same team that was crowned as the champions two and half decades ago, during the ODI world cup. Back then, they had world class players, such as Sanath Jayasuriya, Muthiah Muralidaran, Aravinda de Silva and Arjuna Ranatunga. While other teams (such as Bangladesh and Afghanistan) are improving their performance, Sri Lanka is perhaps the only test playing nation whose performance has gone down.

There is a strike going on in Sri Lanka between the players and the cricket board and even i was surprised to see a new team and initially i thought all those players are injured but then i came to see a news about the players striking and they are not included in the squad and then two of their players are suspended because they breached the COVID protocol so basically they are playing with a second string team.

Not only Sri Lanka, but also Bangladesh's performance in the last two years has been bad. And if their experienced players Mahmudulla, Sakib, Tamim and Mushfiq retire, Bangladesh will be in the same situation as Sri Lanka. Because, they have not yet been able to produce young talented players for the replacement of Sakib or Tamim. Compared to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Ireland and Afghanistan have improved a lot.

From a dismal start from Zimbabwe and their struggle in the middle overs till the 40th over, they ended up reaching 298 runs in the end and no one would have expect that kind of performance in the last few overs apart from the last two overs and Bangladesh have a huge total to chase and it is not going to be easy for them to chase this score if their top order fails again.
Sri Lanka already lost 4 wickets and are struggling again, they need to find players that could hold their middle order if not it is not going to be easy moving forward.

Sri Lanka already lost 4 wickets and are struggling again, they need to find players that could hold their middle order if not it is not going to be easy moving forward.

If the players of the Sri Lankan team had performed somewhat responsibly, they could have fought hard to win against India today. After losing the first wicket by 77 runs, they have lost 4 valuable wickets in 134 runs. I don't think the Sri Lankan team can collect more than 260 colors. Two of the best Bangladesh batsmen are at the crease now (Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan). However, just one more quick wicket will give the advantage back to Zimbabwe.

I think every player of the Bangladesh team has been able to fulfill their responsibilities properly. Mahmudullah could not score a run but he bowled well. India lost 3 of their top order batsmen by just 65 runs. But we have to remember that it is the India team. They are talented and experienced enough. At the moment, India have scored 114 runs in 16 overs. Run rate is good enough. And if they don't lose wickets in the next 10 overs, they will get an easy win in this match as usual.

Throughout the ODI series ZimvsBAN Bangladeshi players played so well, their is mixture of performance both senior and junior which is great sign. Bangladesh have some quality finisher to sweep the game. Congratulations Tamim for century and Bangladesh win the series 0-3

I thought that Zimbabwe had the advantage after they made a total of close to 300. But once again, they lost a match from a winning position. The team coordination is simply inexistent among the Zimbabwe players. They could have won at least one ODI match. That would have helped them to climb to the 12th position in the ODI league. Now their prospects really look gloomy. Their next ODI series is against Ireland, and if they perform poorly in Ireland, then it is all over for them. I don't think that they will be able to get a series win, with their current form.
