With a target of 269 runs in an ODI match, there is little hope of winning the match. Still I would say Sri Lankan cricket team managed to score well in the first ODI match. Sri Lankan cricket team has done well in batting but they have not done well in bowling. Sri Lanka cricket team could have strengthened the bowling line-up. Then the Afghanistan cricket team would have struggled to meet the target of 269 runs. Hopefully the Sri Lankan cricket team can return to form in the next match

Pitch is just a factor, it is the performance from the players that make things happen good. Atleast Sri Lanka could've given some close fight. No doubt sirlanka is a good team in odi format but you cannot underestimate Afghanistan as they have become really good and strong team in last couple of years . They have the capability to beat any strong team as they have done with Pakistan in recent t20 series.
