Best case scenario I think is going back to semi-bubble. Their re-opening on MOA arena on January 15th might be cancelled because of this surge  Undecided.
I'm not sure if they can go with a semi bubble setup where a bubble setup is safer. If they want to ensure that the season will not be stopped, they need to make sure players are not going home with their family, that's too risky as they don't know if whom they mingle with are already positive with this new omicron virus.
Bubble might be the best one, it will also be safer than semi-bubble like what you have said.

Moreover, to this, is there any update from the PBA if what will be the next step after cancelling all the games that supposedly scheduled

inside NCR? I'm still positive that the league will find the fittest way to continue this season, they needed to work things out and make sure

the safety of each individual who is participating around.
We've been in this kind of situation before, it's not new to us so the PBA organization will eventually find a way to continue the pending conference. A bubble would be ideal, at least that will ensure that the maximum safety protocol is implemented and no one can enter in the venue except for the players and staff.

I also agree that bubble will be a much more safer option than semi-bubble. As far as I'm aware, I haven't heard anything official from PBA about the next steps they will follow after the games are postponed. I also think that the season will somehow or anyhow end but the PBA needs to at least ensure that no players get affected by this Omicron Variant.

They cannot afford to end this season now, they work hard to slowly bring back this season to its normal state and suddenly everything was ruined by a single omicron carrier which resulted in strict health protocol implementation. I'm sure the PBA already sees this possibility and they have plans already in situations like now.

Before they come up with new normal, they came from a bubble setup or semi bubble whatever it is, so it's not hard for them to change back just to continue this league, we all are hoping for the best and if PBA offer what they think is good for everyone, we are all going to benefits; we want the game to continue rolling and whatever type of setup it will continue.

Hoping that they will bring good new within this week after cancelling all the possible games after that announcement of changing level
of restriction inside metro.

MANILA, Philippines – The PBA has postponed all of its scheduled Governors’ Cup games this week after the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) raised Metro Manila to Alert Level 3 following a big surge of COVID-19 cases.
The decision comes as the league awaits a confirmation and further instructions from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) for the continuation of its operations.
In an official statement on Monday, January 3, the PBA also noted that it needs the approval of various local government units (LGUs) before resumption of play.

I think that's the best we've got for now, because the government can't afford to impose another 15-day lockdown and as still many individuals are not yet vaccinated due some various reasons so a bubble would be ideal. The PBA had no choice but to agree to the current resolution and postpone its games until further notice. We'll see some update on January 15 if this alert would be extended.

I'm about to post this when I've seen GAB has said no contact sports and the PBA just did the right thing. No bubble, no games for now boys. We take this as rest for now.
But hopefully after this alert level status and it goes down to 2, we're all going to see things going back eventually to normal. This is truly hard when it just happened all of a sudden.

For me, there's no need for a full bubble setup where the preparation time for it is also lengthy. The amount of time when they prepared the first bubble takes about a month or 2 as it was done in Clark. There are prior preparations for that and what if the restriction is now lifted to Alert level 2 after the 15th (we should hope for that).

A semi-bubble is already good as what they did in Ynares Arena. It's not that PBA is new on how to deal with the same problem. If I remember it right, that's the same setup where daily cases are still reaching thousands every day so there's nothing really different.

I haven't heard anything official from PBA about the next steps they will follow after the games are postponed.

It's just a few days ago where updates are handed to the public. Give them at least at the end of the week for the next update. I honestly appreciate the quick action of PBA here but just hanging because of waiting for the response of the concerned government agencies.

Are they still considering to play outside NCR since some areas are still on Alert level 2?
Well, if this is their final decision we should accept that and yes this could be their resting period and hopefully this new variant will slowly fade away and will not worsen our situation, let's hope that everything will go back to normal the soonest, Alert level 2 will be back and I'm confident about this.

I haven't heard from them about going outside NCR. But it seems that they'll just take a rest and wait until the Alert level 3 status is lifted. That's maybe their final decision and we as fans, we have nothing to do but to wait whichever decision they think is the best for the league.
It's just going to be less than 2 weeks and upon looking at the calendar, this alert status will expire by next week. So, the wait isn't really that much and we have to wait.

Let's have some good news first for us PBA fans, specifically the Gin Kings fans here.

Per news below, it seems that the rumors of CStand going to Japan is now scrapped after the latter have signed a three year contract with Ginebra so this means that the SMC management has still trusted the Fil-German banger despite the not so good showing of Ginebra last conference.

CHRISTIAN Standhardinger is still in the process of learning the system of coach Tim Cone with Barangay Ginebra.

But he need not be in a hurry to familiarize himself with it since he’ll be with the team for the long haul.

Still learning the system after this long?  Grin

Now I hope the rumors of him going to B-League will be over after a 3 year contract with the Ginebra.
For the Ginebra fans, this is a good thing since they have a reliable center already for 3 years. With regards to SMC trusting him, lets not forget that he was at SMB at first then he went to NorthPort to get Tautuaa and CStand performed since he is at SMB so the management had trust in him. Good thing that he stayed for the SMC management Smiley.

The first days of January this year is not good for us.
Just today, there is 10,775 added cases of COVID19 and it almost doubled since we got at around 5,000 cases just yesterday.

With the positivity rate or around 20% which is 4x higher than the threshold set by the WHO, I'm expecting that this might go even higher possible this week and there is a chance that we see new ATH in terms of cases and if this happens I think that PBA will go semi-bubble or bubble depending on the situation and what will the IATF says. I'm still hoping that PBA will still continue even though it will be a semi-bubble or bubble.

I was expecting that C Stand will grab the offer for a better paycheck, but I'm still happy that he decided to stay and play with the Ginebra Kings although his presence is not yet so effective as expected.

About the increasing number of cases in the Philippines, I guess that would result in the PBA resting for a while what they are still figuring out the best setup for the resumption of the PBA conference, I hope it won't last long.

No more speculation now. The speculation says that C. Stand will just finish his contact with his current team and he will be playing in the B Leauge after, but it didn't happen, we were surprised of this good news but it is what it is, he will stay and hopefully they'll improve as a team especially during the all Filipino cup.

About the increasing number of cases in the Philippines, I guess that would result in the PBA resting for a while what they are still figuring out the best setup for the resumption of the PBA conference, I hope it won't last long.
Let's just hope that it will not increase as high like before as it will surely start to ruin the economic recovery that is happening already.

Not a good news to read.

Don't expect the PBA games to resume anytime soon
Quote
HE 2021 PBA Governors Cup resumption may take longer than expected given the continuous surge of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) and nearby provinces.

The PBA board had an emergency zoom meeting on Monday to discuss the league's next course of action after shelving all the games fin the first week of January.

Commissioner Willie Marcial said board members talked about the possibility of delaying the resumption anew, but refused to elaborate pending an official announcement to be made on Thursday.

“Pinag-meetingan namin kung ano ang makakabuti sa lahat. Kung ano makakabuti sa liga, sa mga teams, mga players, sa PBA staff, sa lahat,” said Marcial.

At least 10 games have already been deferred after the league decided to postpone the scheduled playdates from Jan. 5 to 11 pending clearance from the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) and the Local Government Unit where the games will be held, in this case the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

This isn't easy for us who are expecting to see the conference to resume soon, looks like we are back to the old days were PBA are having a hard time to figure out how to continue operating while the covid-19 cases are increasing fast.

We shouldn't be surprised with that though, IATF is not granting approval on physical sports in NCR, so they have no choice but to temporarily put the league on pause while they are still figuring out how to continue without violating the safety protocols. Just one instance and everything was ruined, it all started with that breach of quarantine protocol from one lady, not blaming her but looks like she was one of the major reasons.

Grin

You made me smile Grin such a system is too difficult to learn, I guess, taking another conference to continue learning how things should be
is not a good excuse. Maybe that good news of keeping him inside this league will allow him to adjust. He's already with ring contender team. They are doing good now with BrownLee.

Just waiting for upcoming updates in regard to what will be the setup. Delaying the game if it because of safety protocols is not bad.

The thing now is we don't know when will they will resume back..

Source: https://www.rappler.com/sports/pba/postpones-all-games-january-3-9-2022-alert-level-3/

I don't think that they're allowed to go outside NCR as the bubble is still implemented while it's still on Alert level 3, local LGUs and IATF surely won't really approve that one as they can't also afford to have some local transmission if PBA will really play outside NCR and have some places to be crowded as PBA games is so famous locally and people would really want to see it live. Besides, PBA won't go nowhere as they have been already pouring too much money for this games alone after getting cancelled on the scheduled dates.

It's understandable because of the omicron surge and that's why the games have been stopped. They just have to do the right thing so that everyone is going to be safe.
We're used to waiting and that's all they need to do for them to secure themselves and we can wait until the alert level goes down again, alert level 2 is already fine when it does.

Chill back and relax guys. Let's accept the fact that we will not see any games this week. What we need to hope for is for the number of cases to drop down on which likely won't happen until January 15. This is crazy and every household does have a sick person.

It all happened after New Year. Can't believe it happened at most places at the same time.

Unfortunately for venue staff and employees, they don't have work again as event places are closed.

Numbers of people are now jobless again and that's another burden for the government as they are given allowances for the time being. yes, we have to be very positive that the cases will slowly drop so we can get back to normal again, but as they said, we have to be more patient as it will not happen easily, it will take a little time.

I hope the Imports will also understand, not sure about their terms and condition but if the pause is long then I guess they deserve to get paid even if they are not playing for their stay.

We can chill but for the entire economy and those people that are really affected by this, another higher alert level is what makes me think. We can wait for the PBA to get back but for those who are badly affected, it's been two years for them and they're just about to recover and here it comes again. But you're right, this is the season of getting sick, cold weather and this is usually every after the new year. I as well got sick.
