I don't know whether it's a good thing or bad but it has been proven that Nigerian players perform better for their club than national teams and it is quite difficult to place what the problem is, the players are good individually just maybe with a good technical coach and the right discipline, they will be one of the enviable team in the world. It is really sad to see a bunch of talents always playing matches with almost zero passion, just maybe a little commitment will be the solution for them.

African countries are not going to find it easy to qualify from the group stage. Alot of them will result to prayers instead of practising harder to beat their opponents on the pitch. Am sure Nigeria would have been in Group C if that we qualified. There is something with Nigeria and Argentina to be in the same group at world stage in football. For the group, Morocco, Tunisia and Ghana all seem like they will not make it to the knockout stage. They are in the group of death.

I want to believe that this young team from Ghana is capable of qualifying from that group in the world cup. The truth is very few football fans gave them a chance against Nigeria but they did well and here they are heading to Qatar already. The Ghanaian team just extra bit of desire and fight for the national cause and not even Ronaldo and his Portugal team can do much. Senegalese team seems to be the favorite by many but I would give Ghana a chance to cause a major upset.

I'm sure about Senegal finishing second place in their group, but not certain about Ghana and the rest.
Although Ghana will be there to take revenge against Uruguay who knocked them out some years ago in the world Cup.
I think I can recall the goal by Luis Suarez, let's see how it goes.

Am not saying this to hate on Ghana but that is what will happen. Ghana is not that strong and technical and for that I know the BlaskStars will not be able to make it to the next stage. Unless there will be a best loser clause that Ghana can meet up with. In the case with Senegal, they look like a team that has a good understanding of team work. They will scale through to the nest stage. I see only Netherlands that can be able to give them a run for their money.

I couldn't agree more, you can say that again, most Africans are not technically wise with and off the ball, a major drawback in our game of football.
Looking at how Nigeria played them, it shows we should have proceeded but they was lucky to have scored that goal in the first half by the Arsenal defensive midfielder.

It is true that sadly the integrity of the penalty shootout got ruined by the laser pointing by the Senegalese fans especially that which Salah missed but there's no way FIFA will review or revisit that game, it is late already plus I am not sure it was documented as a complaint in the match report by the referees.

He's had a blissful career in the last two years for me, he should have very delighted he did moved to Chelsea.
I look back at what he has achieved I'm a short time, now it's time for him to display at the world Cup.

I am not certainly sure how to react to that. The best I can see is that whatever happens is for the best. I really did want to see Egypt playing better. But reliance on penalties is the strategy that is adapted and that is not appreciable by any means in my opinion. People including me want to see action in the actual match. And their not able to provide that.

I think it was more about the game sense and the way of attack rather than the quantity of attack. They had the possession  and they also tried to shoot the ball from awkward angles which obviously did not worked out pretty well for them.

I think they had enough chances and if they played a little more sensible in those certain moments they would have made a good outcome from those chances. but yes obviously there also seemed to be a little lack of urgency. it's like they didn't even know about the away goals rule.

Of course it is a disappointment for Nigeria, but they should also not forget that Ghana is an opponent which is almost on the same level. It was clear from the beginning that this is gonna be a close fight between the two. Of course the losing team always could have given a bit more passion, but ultimately to be blamed is the way Africa decides which teams are sent to the World Cup.

Seriously! Who wants to probe the reason Nigeria lost to Ghana? We should know that Ghana does not have a small team too, they play good also and they can win Nigeria. Since history, the match between Nigeria and Ghana has been very unpredictable, either they win, draw or lose has been their games, no one among them both win often than not.

You can never say never when it's comes to football. Rumour has it Sunday Oliseh wants to come back to manage the super eagles. I think he is good coach and a better player in his time but tbh he's not been coaching since 2018. Oliseh is not the best choice for the national team if you ask me. I think whoever should be given the coaching job should be based on credibility not sentiment. One if the reasons why the super eagles suck is because the management do not know football. Amaju Pinnick is just simply a politician, he doesn't have love for the game of football.

There has to be changes in the management of the Nigerian football federation to gain the respect of the rest of the world. We have seen cases before when European clubs belittle African tournaments and do not want to release African players to play during international break. Klopp once referred to the African cup of nations as a small tournament. It may get to the point where clubs would not want to release their players for international break, we saw how Mendy performance has reduced since he came back from international break.

Well football is a game of strong, tactics and luck. Africans teams can still play well and qualify for the knock out stage. Although the most adorable team has been knocked out in the qualifiers stage but there are other teams that can play well from Africa. Such as:
Senegal
Ghana
Cameroon
Morocco

I believe this Teams can go far in the tournament, mostly Morocco and Senegal. But what we need is the cup, to win the cup and bring it to African Nations is all we needed. One of the problem African Teams are also facing is their coaches. The coaches don't want to use home base players instead they used international players. Sometimes home base players should be used to see the differences.

The problem is in a lot of cases, people really don't want to trust the local coaches because obviously there are better options and people think that is the way to go and it obviously could be. but it is true that the where local coaches will understand a problem, The other coaches will not, and even if they do it will take longer.

We don't necessarily need a local coach. The fact that you're from a country doesn't mean you understand the type of Football of the nation than someone else from outside. Coaches should be irrespective of nationality, we should pick a good coach who can improve our game in a progressive direction.

We don't necessarily need a local coach. The fact that you're from a country doesn't mean you understand the type of Football of the nation than someone else from outside. Coaches should be irrespective of nationality, we should pick a good coach who can improve our game in a progressive direction.

Actually we do but a good one. African football is quite different from that of the rest of the world. Take a look at senagal, they're physically strong and also good/fast at attacking and been lead by a hike grown coach. If you watched the Egypt game you'll see they didn't give them a breathing space. And assuming it was some other nation they were playing, easily Senegal would had won that game without having to rely on penalty but we all know defensively Egypt are good especially their keepers.

Home grown coaches understand the football style of their nation and former players are always favorite to coach their nation when they pick interest in coaching.  Check other countries excluding Africa that doesn't value their own.. You think of it was an international coach, he'll do what Austin Eguavoen just do. That's to resign after underperforming, no they won't. Instead they'll wait to be sacked so they get compensated.
