The European football authorities have been complicit in corruption for years and apparently a lot is swept under the carpet. UEFA and world football body hardly investigate cases involving top European countries correctly but when it's Africa and South America they throw their weight into it, investigate and place sanctions or bans swiftly.
It is very difficult indeed because when they say about this, most of the people in power and their top brass are among teams in Europe, so when this is investigated, it is very likely that those who are investigating will be affected differently from America and Africa, which are still quite It's rare and football, apart from being not as famous as in Europe, is indeed the right place to take action and make it look as if they are corrupt people working properly.

Reasons I don't waste my precious time watching Nigerian game's.

It is the same with me. I prefer to listen to Nigeria matches on radio than watch them live on television. You will shout and scream and at the end attract unnecessary anxiety to your self over nothing. It is not advisable for anyone who is hypertensive to keep watching live matches of Nigeria's Super Eagles.

How well with the African qualifiers ? Has anyone got a quick update to share ?

What qualifiers again are you talking about? The qualified African countries are already known and they are Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal, Tunisia and Morocco.

That's bad, they should bring people who can do the job better,  if politics is involved in football it won't take the team to anywhere. I wonder why they should retain him when it is clear with èvidence that he is not good for the work.

It is not that they do not know the right thing to do. They want to keep recircling the old hands there. If you know the level of corruption that goes on at Nigerian football house you will be shocked. Everybody knows that these people do not have the interest of football at heart. Austin Egueavon gets paid regularly and he is not owed any salaries so it is not much of a concern to him what happens with our football. For football to grow in this country a foreign coach will be better because we respect foreign coaches more than local coaches.

Nigeria has to double up it efforts in the race of football nowadays, the ways they have been playing need to change drastically, am quite  assured there might be politics involved but as you've said there's a need to involve a foreign coach who is not black at all, they need to train super eagles without being bias and change their match orientation along with their playing strategies, a new wine cant taste good when in an old wine skin.
Nigeria has good players and it is a good team . The problem of Nigeria football has always been be politics, I guess why Nigeria didn't qualify is because of the coach they have , he lack strategies as a coach that was the problem Nigeria had then ,I just hope the new coach will transform the team.
I think Nigerians and the NFF need to believe in their own and shun these foreign coaches who come to Africa for money. The truth is these coaches lose nothing if the country don’t win anything but the local coaches lose pride, when the country don’t win. It's actually right to stick with the local coaches because the NFF and the minister of sports who's definitely a politician would advocate they get a foreign candidate they can get something from and probably pay lesser, leaving out the most qualified.
But the former coach is a Nigerian he did nothing , he made the team to loss in the afcon and and the Fifa qualifier. Home coach are not serious , Nigeria  team have done better with foreign coaches.

Reflecting on the case a few years ago where the FIFA president was entangled in a corruption case, this has re-emerged in the world of European football, although currently it has not been fully proven.but football is currently very vulnerable to a corruption process where many high-ranking officials are involved in the case, especially on the European continent with very high corruption cases, especially in football but this is different from other continents where especially Africa and Latin America we have never heard of such things in several continents outside Europe

Taking into consideration that Ghana is not an easy team that could complicate the classification for Portugal, yes, you are absolutely right, at this moment it is difficult to determine how it will be to play against Portugal, there are still many days before the World Cup begins, sometimes we cannot take into account that the level that Portugal or Ghana have right now will be with the same performance that they will have in November, this is something that is difficult to determine, we do not know if Portugal or Ghana will play well or badly, for now what matters is uqe Portugal is clear that whether Ghana has a local coach or not, they will be a very hard team to beat.

At the moment, the quotes for which team will become the winner of the group are as follows:

Portugal - 1.65

Uruguay - 3.00

Ghana - 11.90

Republic of Korea - 11.90

As you can see, Ghana is a clear outsider, and Portugal is an indisputable favorite, so, presumably, in a personal meeting, Portugal will easily beat Ghana. And by the way, judging by the manner of the game, it looks like the truth - the Portuguese team will be extremely inconvenient for Ghana.

Yes, in fact, one of my favorite teams is Portugal, just like my Italy always is, but we must recognize that Ghana has a different level now, it is in the World Cup with a totally munidalist attitude, it has left African teams of much level behind and they are now shining, this is something salvageable that every Ghanaian has to see, and not just Ghanaians or Africans, I think if CR7 and his team do not know how to handle the level of stress that the white eagles can generate it could complicate them the classification and block the pass to the round of 16.

I think Nigerians and the NFF need to believe in their own and shun these foreign coaches who come to Africa for money.

This I just heard you say money? well if you choose that as a choice then i think that's base on your personal conviction but one thing am rest assured of, that the level of insanity in the Africans is abit higher than the foreign when considering football and how the engaged politics to it in disguise, I've seen many female athletics and footballer doing quite alright but having a female coach or as an assistant coach will still in a long way make a difference and preferably this time, a foreign one.

It will always be difficult to fight against those who have the most money, for now in football, as in any sport, money and those who have the most influence are the ones who will have the most access to the sport and its privileges, saying no to a foreigner is sometimes like saying no to sponsorship and the growth of players, teams, technical staff, sometimes it's good to see it from that point of view.

I believe that after a disastrous season for Ronaldo both on and off the pitch he’ll be keen to sign off with big win at the World Cup, though I don’t expect Portugal to make it to the finals but I’m expecting that he’ll definitely help them win most matches in the group stage.

Furthermore we will have to be cautious before making any predictions, as injury’s and form will be a big concern and I also wonder if fatigue will play it’s part, hence what do you’ll think will player’s be tired heading into this World Cup?.

I think its time for the Nigerian government to take a drastic decision about its national team. Nigeria is blessed with countless good footballers yet they don't have a strong national team. My own suggestion is that the Nigerian Football Association should appoint a local coach. This coach should be sent on a training course in the one of the best football academy in the world. He should also be sent to a very good world class national team coach for apprenticeship and mentorship. This coach would return and select the best players both local and foreign based. This players would not play for any club. They would be fully dedicated to the national team. The government would pay them bonuses and allowances like foreign clubs. They would train together and play friendly matches with other national teams and foreign clubs. I bet you, Nigerian would have the strongest team in the world.

Can also recall the one time FIFA president who was directly involved in fraud one way.
But in the case of Nigeria it is very high as you can see some of these ugly acts with your eyes.
Reasons I don't waste my precious time watching Nigerian game's.
How well with the African qualifiers ? Has anyone got a quick update to share ?

Honestly i never find the game more interesting ever since the super eagles couldn't make thier fly to Qatar and this is very disappointing, unless they NFF had a total revamp there may not be any tangible result to come out in Nigeria and ther most annoying of it all are the list of the qualifying countries like Senegal, Morocco, Ghana, Cameroon, Tunisia who could not even deliver upto half of the super eagles potentials except for Tunisia, well let's see how the finals will landed with other countries from Europe and the likes.

Maybe you're right, I haven't seen enough Ghana games to insist Portugal should beat them easily. And in general, when I saw the results of the draw, I thought that this group is one of the most uniform in strength participants. But as you can see from the quotes of the bookmakers, they have the opposite opinion. But in fact, this may be due to the fact that Portugal (after all, this is a big name in football) is always a lot of bets, regardless of their real strength, and bookmakers are forced to take this into account.

Yes, in fact that is why I have not dared to make any predictions and it is not out of fear, it is because there are still many months to go until the World Cup arrives, and predictions can be made, but it is as you say, we do not know if from here to there there are injured players, some may not even go because of their injuries, it has happened to several players who are famous, I would really like to see CR7 win the soccer world cup, he has gone through difficult times, the misunderstanding that occurred with the child with autism, his own son who lost him while his wife was pregnant, I know that each person goes through really painful experiences, what happens is that he is a world figure and anything can be used against him. With regard to the rest of the players, I would like none of them to suffer injuries, it is good to play against their starting team and for all countries to have their players and their stars.

[/quote]

I have also thought about the possibility that Ghana could beat Portugal, however, I think that CR7 will come out with all his might because it is his last World Cup, at least that is what he has made clear, but seeing the capabilities that he shows are far superior to of his age, this is something that the entire Portugal team will help him achieve his dream.

FIFA has fined Nigeria N64 million (about 150,000 Swiss Francs) and play a match indoors for what fans did on the stadium after the Super Eagles of Nigeria failed to beat Ghana in their qualifiers for the Qatar 22 world cup on March 29, 2022. And I like it. It was stupid for fans to encroach on the pitch and cause destruction of the stadium. I know the fine will be paid from tax payers money but it will serve a warning to the federal government of Nigeria to ensure adequate security next time for matches.

This is the right decision and I think that the Nigerian Football Federation should take this seriously because the next stage of punishment is either a fine for the team on the points earned in the next tournament or a complete suspension from the competition for any period. If I remember correctly, at one time such a large football federation as Italy was removed from the euro cups for several years due to the riots that the fans staged.

One  question I ask myself on this is,

What is the fans take on this? How does it go I any length to teach the fans who are the perpetrators of this act a lesson?
Yeah, FIFA has done the most and surely, they were never meant to let the Super eagles go without some form of punishment but I strongly believe majority of the fans or at least some of them should have been caught and exemplified.

People tends to be a lot more responsible when the punishment for there actions is a lot more directed at them or ther families. Nigerians might be unfied under one Nigeria but make no mistake, most persons don't see it as family and as they aren't paying directly form there individual purse, they would care very little. It was a stampede situation and as such, getting the perpetrators would be difficult but it would have been a lot more nice, seeing fans pay for there actions.

It's such a wrong way to so solidarity on a lost course!

This expression is an act uncalled for by the fans, this is a wrong way of showing displeasure on something, although the NFF will take the responsibility for that because the supporters cannot be held responsible at a course, and i think the FIFA should as well work on the security matters of the National Stadiums across hosting country whenever international matchs like these were to be hosted especially in the developing countries.

This will also invoke more adherence to strictness on subsequent matches to be hosted in future and a high viewing ticket that could be the repercussions on the supporters and fans, this is not the first time a match is lost at home play, the entire football team and the governing authorities concern has to sit up to make implementation of policies that could serve the suitability of hosting a match in the country once more before it get banned by FIFA.

The fine of 150K Swiss Franc & a closed door game is a fair punishment for what the fans did - encroaching and violent display, destroying the stadium facilities after losing to Ghana in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Take away the financial implication, I doubt Nigerians do care even if they are given 10 games ban playing matches in closed doors.

The average Nigerian cares. Those who do not care if Nigeria plays her matches in closed doors or not are those who run our sports. All they care about is their salaries and allowances, and not what results they bring to Nigerians. The intervention we need now is for the president to step into sports matter and ensure that eyes are on the administrators and not to leave everything to the NFF because those ones are the same. The NFF will not do any positive thing as to retire or sack those who sabotaged our chances at the world cup because they all are birds of the same feather.

@Smartvirus if the fans can be identified then they should be banned for life from visiting any stadium in the country, and secondly they should be asked to pay a fine to the government as this will create fear in fans mind that they cannot vent like this ever again.

I agree that the Nigeria’s government needs to be more careful, because such actions are not welcome and definitely should not be repeated ever, and I sincerely hope that they can catch the fans responsible for this and hand out punishments to them.

What the Nigerian fans did was not good I commend fifa for the action they took, because if they stay silent without any penalty for the nigeria football federation,  it may likely happen again.  I don't see why nigeria fan should behave that way, game is about a winner and who lose and not a do or die affair.

It is the same hooliganism and poor attitude we see in the Nigeria local league, the NPFL where fans and home teams beat up visiting teams and match officials. There is a popular sports presenter in the country who calls the league The Nigeria Katakata League because of the weekly misbehaviors that is now constant. It is a shame that fans behave like football is no longer a fun thing but a do or die affair. Although Nigeria is not the only country punished by FIFA for misbehaviour during the Qatar 2022 world cup qualifiers. There are many others.

African Champions League,
Semi Final
(CAF)

Today being 7/5/2022

      Full Time
Al Ahly vs Es Setif
     4        -          0
The match was very tough to the end. Although, the red devil had more ball possession and oppressed the opponent in the match. Amir Karaovi  took yellow card, and the referee went to the replay box and gave him red card again. So Es Setif was playing against 10 - 11. Al Ahly also got one yellow card. Though Es Setif also played well just that their goal keeper was not strong has their opponent keeper.

  P. Tau (goal scored time in the match 30 minutes), Taher Mohamed (goal scored time in the match minutes 54), Mohamed Sherif (goal scored time in the match minutes 72) P. Tau (goal scored time in the match minutes 90). P. Tau really played well in the match, in fact he was the man of the match.
If Al Ahly is strong as this, they will win this match and take the Golding cup in the tournament. I really recommend them for job well done. From the beginning when they have not even scored any goals I supported them to the end. Their midfield and the defend was very good.
