African Women Nations Cup Championship League of 2022. In the month of July 4, 2022. Nigeria played with South Africa and South Africa scored Nigeria with 2:1

although Nigeria possessed ball more than South Africa but the Nigerian defense was not strong enough to attacked the opponent. Nigeria had more short than even their opponent. All the same the day was meant for South Africa to win. Football is also a game of luck.  Even as that, the players lacked skills to score her opponent and issu will go to the management team. Mostly the selection of players for the first half and the second half. Those who are good would have played the first half then change some of them in the second half of the game to create equilibrium. But they brought the good ones at the second half of the game which affected the whole setting.

I don't think the Nigerian team lost the game against their South African Opponents because of lack of concentration. The Nigerian team were well equipped and fully prepared for the game but the South African team were better today in terms of performance and utilization of opportunities too, moreover football game is not predictable any team can defeat even a big team no matter the squad in the team and that was what we saw in the game today. History have been made because finally, South African team defeated the Nigerian team after a long time.

I was a bit confused about the replies above before understanding that you were talking about Africa Women Cup of Nations. I was wondering in what competition Nigeria faced South Africa!
Not sure if this is the best topic to discuss this competition, it is confusing. It would be better to start another topic about that imo.

I share your confusion but, I think the best approach towards this is to edit the thread title as both mens and womens competitions aren't played simultaneously.
Speaking of which, it was disappointing for Nigerias super eaglet to have lost to the South African team in there first legbof the competition. They didn't have it together despite preparations mained as the South African teams proved there better and managed to put the ball in the goal.

Tunisia on the other hand we're such a force. They managed to commit Togo and gave them a red card, capitalised on it and scored 2 more goals to seal the match but a 4:1 win.
While Chebbak literally won the Morocco game for her team against B.Faco. Her both free kicks where so on goal and she rightly managed to net one.

I believe that I have already said it that the new coach will take some time, and we should not expect much from him immediately as preparing an international team is always a difficult job. Lastly I feel that he’ll be doing his homework on the above mentioned issues, and we’ll have to give him few more games to prove himself because I feel that it’s unfair to judge him so soon in his tenure.

You are right, in these teams it reminds me that one of the problems was the coach who is the national team manager, initially they are responsible for all classification, a bad start with an incorrect coach is the decline of the entire national team, in the The Venezuelan national team started with a really bad coach at the beginning of the tie, this made the national team last, they expected around 4 lost games, and that was enough not to get up after the defeats, the Nigerian national team I have seen that they, like any African country, what they should do is as Mourinho said, that FIFA impose a rule where African players only play for their country and do not represent another, this would bring more wins to their teams and why not? win a world cup.

The female football in Nigeria is not growing compared to teams in other climes. I would probably cut the girls some slack, the Super Falcons have been dominating the tournament in Africa for years, this is only the first loss. Under the previous coach, Florence Omagbemi the girls played better. Our next game is against Botswana, I expect a convincing victory over the Botswana side.

Super Falcons have been dominant side, the loss to South Africa is a reminder that they are not invincible and things cannot always go their way. The Super Falcons will bounce back, they have learnt the strengths of the Banyana Banyana I don't think they will be able to beat us again. We need a coach that will be able to put in the work to bring the best out of the players. There is no structure in the Nigeria football, there is no support system for the players. Amaju Pinnick is busy contending for a third term in office.

I understand, but creating a topic about cosafa I think would not be viable since this is a very short competition, it is more practical to discuss everything related to African soccer here in this thread. I say this because in Africa soccer doesn't have much attraction in this forum so creating several threads about each competition in Africa will have several dead threads or with little discussion

We have a lot of players who do not play in the qualifiers but want to play for the team when we make to the tournament. You're surprisingly okay with the loss. The super Falcons winning streak against south Africa may have ended, there is a chance we will meet South Africa again in the competition and both teams will have a chance to put the matter of who's the better team to rest.

I love this update, the women's wing of the Nigeria football team have been performing excellently over the past couple of years, and there have been coming top ahead of other countries' women's teams. The super falcons will make Nigeria proud in the upcoming women championship game.

I apologize for the mixup, but creating another thread for the women’s competition will be counter productive. I created a thread for Nigerian premier league football, only about 15 users actively comment on that thread,  that experience taught me how unpopular African football is (men and women alike). The WAFCON is not as popular as the men so they do not get the same attention even though they get better results than their male counterparts. We only get this once in a while, the women football discussions won’t be long before it comes to an end, for now please bear with us

South Africa have once again beat the Super Falcons 2-1 in the WAFCON tournament. Before the game most people felt South Africa are ahead of the Super Falcons. We have won the tournament nine times, the team is heading for their tenth championship. South Africa beat the Super Falcons with a goal difference, it’s a respectable scoreline. Bayana Bayana are our longtime rivals, the match wasn’t expected to be easy. This loss can be blamed on the coach, the super falcons conceded goals in quick succession. Super Eagles or Super Falcons, both of our national teams are performing poorly.

Nigerian football team they are not serious because their government is not serious everything concerning Nigeria is politics so you cannot use a country that is ok or a country that is United and they compared to a country that is living in shambles. Because South African team is in alliance and The corporation with their government why Nigerian football team is been set up through a political appointment and the political recommendation so therefore Nigeria is not supposed to defeat a country that is United  like South Africa. from what the news of journalist speculate of Nigeria the country is lacking leadership

Super eagles not qualifying for the world cup is the annoyance of most Nigerians, This can affect the players in one way. Super eagles fans just need to move on and encourage the players.  The players needs encouragement from fans to bounce back to their best way of performing.

@Slow death and @SatoPrincess, I understand, that's why I gave the other suggestion about writing in the first line of each post the competition name in bold, example: [WAFCON] if the reply will be about that.
It is just to make things more clear especially for the ones that aren't following these smaller competitions closely since the title is about "AFCON 2023 qualifiers" and the content right now is about two different competitions.
And I agree that there is no need to create another topic since it will be inactive but I strongly recommend to highlight the competition that will be talked about since the beginning. I don't know what @CryptopreneurBrainboss think about that?

The situation with the Super Eagles has entirely nothing to do with luck. A lot of issues have to be fixed, we have more big players in the squad now than ever and we still find it very difficult to qualify even for the group stages playing against other African countries. How lucky do we think we can be against European countries. There has to be constructive change, we need connection and a positive spirit in the team.

Totally agree with you. I do not mean to sound like a pessimist here but I really do not see a change coming anytime this year. John Maxwell said, "Everything rises and falls on leadership". I couldn't agree more. What we see playing out in the Super Eagles is a leadership issue. And I mean from the leadership of the nation and not just the NFF. Hopefully, see a change in the coming year.

The Nigeria football federation (NFF) needs a total overhaul and change in the leadership and the fight against corruption in the football team. The structure should focus more on players' motivation and treatment when there are injuries a lot of the super angle players were left to care for themselves when they sustain injuries playing for the country. This treatment has demoralized the players and their no longer perform at their best when playing for the country but will play skillfully on the club side.

A complete overhaul is the best solution but it isn’t feasible. The current NFF president Amaju Pinnnick is trying to change the rules and run for a third term, this hasn’t been done before in Nigeria football history. The political side of African football is ugly, integrity is lacking that’s why we haven’t grown in the sport or in any sport. I think football is the number sport in Nigeria and still we cannot claim bragging rights as the undisputed champions of African football.

The truth is that the Nigerian Female team played better football yesterday against the Botswana Female team.  Their last match saw them bow to the South African female team in a 1:2 defeat but they bounce back as they kept their hope alive with their brilliant performance yesterday by beating their Botswana counterparts 2:0. I think the Nigerian Female team improved in their game against Botswana after they were criticized by fans and their supporters for losing against the South African female team. They still have a chance of qualifying when they play against Burundi in their next match, a win in the game will take them to the next round.

It assume you did not watch the match you would have seen that Nigerians just have chance to defeat Botswana with a flattered of gold. Secondly you are on point by saying that Nigerians female charged up to defeat Botswana because of their previous match which the lost. And from my post which you quoted i made it to be understandable that while Nigerias oppressed them is because condemnation of their fans over their lost to south African
