I don't think roughness of a game is something we African are concerned about. Infact if a game isn't rough enough many fans won't get the spirit to uplift the players with their chanting. Did you watch the AFCON tournament, it was full of violence play. In a match that Senegal played, I remember watching Mane get kicked severally that he almost got a concussion but refused to leave the pitch and continue playing. African football is known for its physically so provided they can keep it professional, it's welcomed.

Congratulations to the Super Falcons. Nigeria has advanced to the next round. What a man can do, a woman can do much better. Morocco is next. We have to be flawless to beat Morocco. Congratulations to this wonderful team. Even the President is pleased with there performance and their qualification for the next FIFA female world cup in Australia & New Zealand. From their first match against Banyana Banyana of South Africa I observed that the team is not at their best. The players seems overweight or fatigued. Securing a World Cup slot is a massive achievement and for me they have done their best. Hence, if they fail to defeat Morocco, they still deserve my praise and respect. But if the Falcons go to the World Cup with this level of performance, Nigeria should prepare to welcome them back after the group stage. Few years back I was regular fan of African Soccer because I was feeling they are going through just like we have in South America too much roughness and having some tough challenges for opponents even many times fans are having tough things for opponent players which was big concern because they need to be some polite as this game still need some more time for having big name around the globe.

Recently we have some good number of players are doing amazing job in UEFA and now this is surely big development they need to learn things from there in near future we will have more success and achievements waiting for us now just after four months we have World Cup and no one talking about any African team to have a spot in semifinal which is another concern because few teams were on good development but recently lost their best with having no suitable replacements.

You can already imagine that the government manipulates everything even in sport they are with their tentacles manipulating sport. Our salvation is that many clubs in Europe look for talents from Africa and take them to play in big clubs in Europe and thanks to that we can have a chance to reach international competitions and not be a total shame even though we don't even have any chance to win things like the world cup.

I am understanding your all concern about this but sadly here we have no good chance for having professionalism and things go into positive way instead of having things which are creating more feud and mess up.

Right now, too many players or their parents feeling better about things they try to shift into Europe for better future of their kid or game which is the biggest regret for me because if we can bring some transparency and have better environment.

We can change things here locally but sadly too many conflicts which are here for years not settled even more new are rising by these corrupt politicians and their agents which are eating this all and not allowing us to have some better future for our kids and ourselves.

Superb performance by the Super Falcons. They lost the semi-finals match as heroins. The were in perfect control of the game even after the first red card. The second red card disorganized the attack and put much pressure on the midfield and defense, but they fought gallantry and took the game to penalty shootout. The first red card was controversial because I am yet to see the reason for that. But the second one was justifiable because it was a dangerous tackle. Nevertheless, the Super Falcons really defended this trophy and we take solace in the fact that they have qualified for the FIFA female World Cup.

The world cup has always been the bigger picture, It is good that we were able to qualify for the world cup before these unexpected turn of events. I never pictured or could have predicted that their game against Morocco gets extended into the penalties even after the red cards, i thought it was over then for the falcons, but they proved to be an even better and more resilient team with the dogged display they still put up.

 These Ladies show more team spirit than our super eagles, there is no doubt that they will get so far in the world cup.

Yes, I was impressed with their performance last night despite losing to the Moroccan ladies. The Super Falcons of Nigeria were at their best last night but failed to score in the first half of the game. The Falcons have always dominated the football league in Africa so I don't see any other team that matches their strength when it comes to tactical display and creativity in the field of play so holding Moroccan women to a 1:1 draw till the final whistle shows how good the team is.

The are focused and more serious about their games, their performance has always been impressive.  The dominated the game all through, my happiness is that they are qualified to play for the world cup. It would have been so disappointing the ladies didn't qualify like how the super eagles didn't qualify.

Sadio Mané will always have my bet, he is a great player even better that Mo Salah in important games, but many people will still want to argue. He is my candidate for this award. If not him, then Edouard Mendy. Names like Vincent Aboubakar for Cameroon should have been included because he had a great influence on his teams African cup of Nations games.

This is the final shortlist so Vincent Aboubakar doesn't deserve to be there more than the names on the list. People you seen there are frequent names that have been representing African nation both on home soil and away in international league. All three players reach the finals which was as a result of them been solid for their nations. The final list is always a three man shortlist and there's no way you could have substituted any for Vincent.

Yes. The Super Falcon is one team that gladdens my heart even when they lose unlike their male counterparts. Some days ago, they lost to South-Africa but defeated Botswana in the Women's African Cup of Nation group match. Tomorrow they'll lock heads with Burundi and South-Africa with Botswana. South-African has the highest points (6) in the group. Nigeria shares the same point with Botswana (3). My prediction for tomorrows match is Nigeria 2 - 1 Burundi and South-Africa 1 - 0 Botswana

The Super Falcons of Nigeria are the best team in Africa as long as African women's football is concerned but we can not compare them to the Super Eagles team because the male football competition is more competitive and difficult than the female competition. Even though the Super Falcons lost in their game against South Africa they still had so many fans supporting and cheering them up like the male team that receives harsh words and abuses whenever they are defeated in a match that alone has been a major setback in the super eagle's team.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria will have an easy win against Burundi because following their last performance against Botswana, I believe they will be able to score two or more goals and I see the South African side sharing points with Botswana because the Botswana team will be hoping to win them so as to progress to the next stage and they hope Nigeria will not have a win against Burundi too.

Yes, what happens is that many times the love for the eagles is usually confused with the super falcons, and it is clearly as you say, the women's soccer team if it is something competitive, but the male version of soccer is more in demand In addition, everything is measured based on men's football, and as for the African league, for me it has quite a level, only as a foreigner and as a connoisseur of football I know that here a lot of work is done with the "thread" or with preferences , that is obviously caused by money, and it is something common, in South America it is also a very lucrative business model, although a little of that has already been cleaned up.

Yes. I agree with you, Edouard Mendy. Right now Mendy is the best goalkeeper in the world. Last year, he won the best African International Award. He is the only goalkeeper to win the Champions league in his debut season. He also won the goalkeeper of the AFCON tournament(which most people I know disagreed.) Yet, I believe, he has done well and I believe he deserves to win the CAF  African Player of the Year.

I don't know if Mendy is really the best goalkeeper in the world. Not that that matters, but there are secretly quite a lot of good football players on the African continent. The problem with the countries, however, is that normally each country only has 1 or a maximum of 2 very good players, and you don't win matches against better opponents with that. Just think of Egypt with Salah and Sane near Senegal. But Senegal still has a lot of footballing ability outside of Sane. Players are also used to tropical temperatures, which could be another big advantage at this year's World Cup in Qatar.

Sadio Mane is the 2022 African player of the year for the second time. Obviously all these players are good and there isn't a big difference between them imo.
I agree that players others than forwarders are less recognised. When we see Real Madrid in Champions League, we all say they win thanks to Benzema and Venicius Junior but less people recognise how wonderful Courtois was and how much goals he saved..
