Let us know what you want to see in Spondoolies-Tech's firmware… We are open to suggestions! What do you want to see implemented in our next firmware releases? We want to hear from you

Others have made some good suggestions, I have a simple request ... that a miner doesn't forget it's timezone. Too many of my miners from SP10/30/20 randomly revert back to the year 2000 after a restart. It's a hit and miss affair to get them to time warp to 2015.

I've seen others make comments about this, no idea why it happens, but when it does it screws the graphs up.

Thanks for asking.

It happens if the miner can't reach the pool.ntp.org server to set its time.

I'd like more manual control, I don't want my miner to talk to an outside NTP Server if I have my own on the network.  I want to turn SSH off unless I need to use it etc. Back to time maybe even be able to manuallys set the time from the GUI

Thanks Biffa didn't know that.

Sounds good if the pool.ntp.org server isn't playing ball.

I just wanted to thank you for paying attention to mining conditions and lowering price.  Very nice to see a company following and listening to miners.

One more feature request:

Settings profiles with scheduling Smiley  Power is less expensive during the night here so I can get more GH at the same price.
This will also help miners located in office areas where there is nobody at night.

+1 - some Places have almost free power at night. So running it overclocked during the night, and underclock/run normal during the day.

That usually happens with nuclear power plants providing base-load. In Ontario (Canada) the price even went negative for a time. (In Alberta the price is only allowed to go to 0 by fiat. (No nuclear power plants though).)

We want to hear from you, although we cannot make any promises to implement any suggestion, we will try out best to make it work. Post suggestions here in the thread…
I would like to see target temperature support whereby the firmware constantly adjusts fanspeed to the lowest possible RPM that will maintain the device just below a target temperature. Where cgminer drivers have had the ability to adjust fanspeed continuously, I have coded up this feature into them but the fanspeed control is not within cgminer on sp gear.

Temperature range along with scheduling would be nice; Support other pool options in addition to Failover;

Unreasonable wishlist -- Allow me to set my efficiency and have the SP20 auto adjust watts/volts/temp/fan/etc to obtain

Quick question for those that have had SPT Miners for a while. I have one SP20 that when you try to go to home page you get a 404 page not found. The url that displays is the Miner's IpAddress/cgi-bin/luci . The miner works fine otherwise and I can access the other pages setup etc just by putting the url for that page in directly. I have tried updating firmware and that didn't fix it. Has anyone had this before and is there an easy fix or am I looking at a recover or flash? Thanks

luci is from your Ants. Clear cache or change the IP of the miner Smiley

Hi,

Feature for firmware:

Make easy to change hostname  Grin Grin

+1
Would you please share, "the difficult way" of changing the hostname of the SP3x. I followed the steps in the guide here, but it did not help: http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-change-hostname/
I am still with the old hostname:(
Is anyone else has found a way of changing it?
Thank you.

Did anybody tried to run SP30 more energy efficiently? If yes, care to share the settings and what the energy consumption/hashing speed will result?
I have my units in hosting, so cannot play with settings as easily as with SP20 at home.

I tried a quick test and I used start voltage .60 and set the max PSUs to 750W and it worked just fine. Can't remember stats because as I said it was just a quick test. Maybe I will have more spare time in week-end.
