Spondoolies came through with the generous donation of an SP30 to sponsor continued mainline support for cgminer, as did jtoomim with the offer of hosting. Thank you to both. Once remote access is available to the machine I should be able to test code directly on them. I've done some (blind) modifications to the code to try and report real share rate generation based hashrates since there are scenarios I've seen where the device was reporting a high hashrate but not really generating the same number of shares at the pool.

Thanks Spondoolies-Tech.
Thanks jtoomim.
Thanks ckolivas.

As an SP30 owner it is reassuring to know that this cgminer support machine is running. I look forward to future firmware updates coming out of this.

Run a Bitcoin node, support the network.

I just thought I'd point out a few things on these. First, you'll note that the low performer is only using 1176W (DC) whereas the high performer is using 1254W. This means you're getting 0.857 J/GH (DC) on the slow machine and 0.832 J/GH on the fast one, so your fast unit clearly has superior ASICs. Second, you have slightly higher voltages on the fast machine on average, which is probably responsible for the lower power consumption. There might be a way to increase the voltages that the firmware settles on by changing (increasing) the initial voltages, but you also might brick your miner by trying that, and you'd only gain at most around 80 GH/s and you'd lose efficiency as well.

As for the waviness of the line, if you look at the graphs you'll notice that the one running 1.5.8 has the graph scale go from 1.2 TH/s to 1.5 TH/s, but the one running 1.5.4 has the graph scale go from 0 TH/s to 1.6 TH/s. The reason for this scaling difference is that Zvi made this modification (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521520.msg8356336#msg8356336) in the more recent firmware after I showed it to him. Consequently, the graphs on 1.5.8 just show more detail than on 1.5.4.

Thank you for the detailed response jt. Smiley

Wow, definitely a + for SP-T!

Fine hardware, excellent support, if it wasn't for the $$$ and that negligible matter with ROI I'd already be a customer.

Is it possible to use more than one coupon per purchase? I might be interested if it is.

You can't use more than one Discount code per order, but you can use multiple gift cards.

You can request they change a discount code to a gift card code, YMMV with regards to whether they will do that or not.

I have something weird going on with one of my SP30's (the only one on firmware 2.4.21 which may be the cause)

Hashing fine at 4.5TH...

However the API is reading the input temperature instead of the output, and it's the wrong speed.

Is there a repository of firmware that we can download so I can roll it back, looked on the website and couldn't see any links, and the manual firmware selection doesn't list older versions

Hi Guys,

We are setting up our miners for monitoring by MultiMiner (it reports to mobile apps and to a cloud based service).

MultiMiner polls the miners with the "devs" command every set period to get an update on the current stats such as temp hash rate and so on.

It works fine with all my other miners, however, my SP30's (firmware 2.4.21) always report a hash rate of around 1Th/s (they are hashing around 4.5Th/s in reality).

Does anyone else have this bug?  Could SP-Tech take a look at this?

Here is an example output
Code:
devs =>
STATUS=S,When=1413316592,Code=9,Msg=1 ASC(s),Description=cgminer 4.6.0|ASC=0,Name=S30,ID=0,Enabled=Y,Status=Alive,Temperature=22.00,MHS av=954914.28,MHS 5s=963736.28,MHS 1m=957312.39,MHS 5m=953443.96,MHS 15m=952928.39,Accepted=23510,Rejected=197,Hardware Errors=1,Utility=31.17,Last Share Pool=0,Last Share Time=1413316592,Total MH=43216675000.0000,Diff1 Work=3020656,Difficulty Accepted=46359200.00000000,Difficulty Rejected=68128.00000000,Last Share Difficulty=2048.00000000,Last Valid Work=1413316591,Device Hardware%=0.0000,Device Rejected%=2.2554,Device Elapsed=45257|

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide on this.

The latest firmware (2.4.21) has some issues with hashrate and temperature reporting via monitor.php. Previous versions do better, including 2.4.20. We talked about this issue a few pages ago. Zvisha is currently on vacation (1.5 weeks left, IIRC), so it will likely be a while before this issue is fixed.

If you want to downgrade, here's version 2.4.20:

What miner would you order right now SP20 or Sp35? I am past the ROI argument and just want to get a feel for what you guys would do. Electricity I have a lot of 240V now and I just want to pull the trigger so to speak.

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

I ordered Some Prismas with the low exchange rate last week.  I filled the right now addiction.  I need to fill the next month one.  S4 looks to be S*** so it’s SP20s or the 35s.  I think Bobsag has cheaper Sp10s on Minersource if you want to fill rack space. I have rack space and shelf space so it does not matter for a while.

I heard that Spondoolies cancelled the SP20s due to them being too expensive to manufacture and the performance not meeting expectations, hence the lack of updates despite supposedly shipping in the next week or two. I also heard that Zvi was fired which is why the broken firmware hasn't been fixed.

i heard they are selling sp20's like hotcakes and zvi is on vacation for another week and one half
