Everyone sees what he wants to see.

Exactly, which is the point I was making. The wording is vague as you have people that want it to be open source and then you have what the discussion was actually about.

You missed two other options, did you?

No, I didn't. What do you think anyone not in the thread and just seeing it show up in a poll would think? They'd simply think "open source".

Fact is, I know what you were talking about and what the concerns are. But it should be clear to you by now from the reaction that others were thinking purely open source. Words are a funny thing and it's sometimes better to completely change them.

1. Source code remains in the hands of Qora until full release to the public.
2. Source code put in the hands of trusted members for security purposes at Qora's discretion.

That's really all that this entire thing was about.

As an aside, now is a great time to buy.  Someone just handed me 10M @ 25.  Wow!  That was my "good luck and good night" bid.

I've put a few million stacked on the sale side for short-term profitability, so that I can increase my stake.  FYI, I only entered  QORA a couple weeks ago.  People who might try to complain about distribution need to realize, people are spreading the wealth and I'm proof.

Nice score!

One thing that I've noticed is that the QORA market is pretty slow moving.  This is because it isn't attracting to many new people.  If qora, and the rest of the supporters want to build in new features and make sure that the source is solid, this is a good state to be in.  We want supporters, and some new enterers, but we don't want to rush marketing until we have something that remarkably stands out.

With that stated, it looks like someone is dumping this morning.  I will hold off personally speculating why, but there are two general reasons-- an early stakeholder is cashing out and moving on, or someone is inciting volatility with hopes of picking up a lot of cheap QORA under some value they see as "cheap".  It's tought to say which is occuring but, never the less, if you are in on QORA, these unsuspecting selloffs are the time to stop waiting and the time to start buying buy putting in low buy orders (i.e. DO NOT eat the sell book.)  If the latter scenario is the case, suspect a pump to come in, in days or weeks (depends on the aggressiveness of the investor.)

A Personal Quote on BTT from 2011:
"I'd be willing to make a moderate "investment" if the value of the BTC went below $2.00.  Otherwise I'll just have to live with my 5 BTC and be happy. :/"  ...sigh.  If only I knew.

Why not ask Qora what he wants to do?

There is no reason why he would lock this thread on purpose so i dont understand all this BS it has generated.

It just showed fragility of the system. Just imagine that the thread is locked and Qora disapeared for a week for some reason. The price may fall to zero and everybody will be in panic. That's not the most healthy way to run a coin.

shows the fragility of a few people on here not any system. It would be great for 'the system' as a few more cheap coins would get distributed. Now who's talking bullshit.

Said stranger on the internet  Smiley

What if Qora doesn't come back for another day, ot two, or a week. Are you gonna calm down every panicking user? Will you be able to keep them from dumping?

We need to create a system that doesn't depend on one person. One additional trusted person with the source would be a good start.

re: voting/polls.

So I would click on the "Voting" tab and see nothing there. Figured things were very quiet. But since dzarmush said he'd started a poll, I actually paid a bit more attention and noticed and clicked the "All Polls" button. Low and behold, there they were. Soooooooo.. Why is that? Why aren't they just showing up on the Voting tab? Will need to have some pagination as time progresses and I think there should also be a column with the date so you can see recent polls easily and not have to search through them.

Qora makes himself available in the chat everyday. I'd recommend to anyone who has questions, to simply log into the chat and ask them yourself.

I'm trying to keep my opinions to myself on the source discussion (for now, anyway) but if you've written any application in Java or .Net, then your source is "open".  If qora disappeared, I imagine the binaries would be easy-enough to decompile and cleaned up for sharing on Github.

Heck, I could do it and I'm not even a java dev.

Yes, but Qora is closed source not because qora wanted so. He asked the community and we asked him to keep it closed for a while. He said from the start that it's up for the community to decide what to do with source.

So now some of us returned to this topic and trying to figure out if it's a good idea to open the sorce for someone else.

NXT member already decompile and say it's old NXT code but people don't want truth. Qora plan like many scam is to sell off his many coins of IPO. But no one buy so he can't sell.

If that were true, this would not be a 400 page thread. It would have died a long time ago. Where is smaragda to ignore this guy for all of us Smiley
