Nobody said it's important. I just highlighted it because it was part of the programme of the NFF for the Super Falcons. It's part of football culture that champions will parade around a particular area where the fans will cheer them on. It's not compulsory but it's usually a beautiful and exciting experience.
Ivory Coast organised a parade for the male team when they won the current African Cup of Nations. Maybe the NFF want to make this win historical by adding the parade.
Organising a parade for the Falcons is not a bad idea, as a matter of fact, it gives them the joy of accomplishments and satisfaction and also, it motivates them to do more when they see their fans, supporters and well wishers cheering them up for the victory. Such parade is not too common in this part of the world unlike the west and Asian countries that do organise parades for their athletes after a victorious return. However, even if they cancelled the initial parade, they could still fix a new date for the to do the parade as it is still not too long they returned home with the trophy and bedsides, it is rainy season so the weather wouldn't be that friendly but at most they have already attempted to do a parade which was put on hold as a result of the rain.

Parade? Their is no time in our history that we have done something like that if am not mistaken, though it's not a bad idea entirely but I don't sees it as part of our culture, so it's not that significant to us, unlike the Europeans that it's the part of the norms if they win something huge. Then as for the rest of other African nations, have they done anything like parade before? I haven't heard of it before honestly, so I don't think it's that important to us, what I find very important is for our football federation and those people that made promises to this ladies, let them fullfil all their promise because they are the only ones giving us joy of recent, unlike our super eagles team that has being disappointing us on a steady basis.
It's not important, but there is no harm in doing it. I mean, if they can spend their funds on things that don't matter, this won't hurt anybody, if anything it would even make the women feel more happy and more recognized that they were able to win a trophy for a record ten times and there were the first set of women who got paraded for their hard work and the pride they brought the nation.

I've been reading comments on social media about how the super falcons were kneeling down to greet president Tinubu, and his wife. There are negative comments about why they should kneel to greet the president and first lady and I guess that they are comparing them with athletes in other countries that will stand and receive handshakes from their leaders. I think that such negative remarks are totally unnecessary, we are Africans and in some of our cultures young ladies kneel down to greet their elders while young men prostrate. They don't need to like the president and his wife but I don't see anything wrong in the young ladies kneeling to receive "president handshake". I think that most of these haters are just envious of what the falcons were receiving.

So far, I think they are well treated onset from the beginning of the tournamnet, this administration is sports friendly from all indications and even as they returned with the trophy, President Bola Tinubu promised them 3 bedroom flat each at Abuja and $100,000 Naira equivalent each and also to the technical crew and coach $50,000 each of them so this has gone a long way to show that they were well treated compared to the previous administrations that strugled to fulfil their promises. Less I forget, this current administration fulfilled a promise made by a previous administration to our Super Eagles, and they all received the gifts. The event occurred not too long ago; Super Eagles Houses: FG Finally Delivers After 31 Years . All this happened under the current administration, so I believe he would fulfill his promises to the Super Falcons.

I once wrote in this thread that I was ready to bet my entire life savings for the super falcons to win against morroco in the finals. On that day of the Match, my stake in that game was very huge for the super falcons to win. Just like you I refuse to loose hope on our girls the moment they started loosing. I know what the super falcons are capable of unlike the super eagles that are lagging behind. The girls were able to turn the game around to their own favor even when morroco fans were trying to distract them by pointing lasers lights directly into their eyes. Big Congratulations to our proudly super falcons for winning the WAFCON. It was a joyous night seeing our girls lifting the trophy 🏆 for the 10th times.
It seems you are new to gambling; that's why you were ready to stake all your entire life savings in favor of the Nigeria Super Falcons. Don't be carried away and allow the performance of any team to make you stake what you can't afford to lose because football is unpredictable, and sometimes big teams lose against small teams. Always use the money you can afford to lose when you want to gamble, so if you lose your bet, you won't be chasing your losses, which could expose you to losing more money.

I can't stop laughing seeing the post of someone who wants to stake with all the amounts he has for the super falcons to defeat Morocco in the finals that's very funny if you ask me like you trusted the team that was down to 2:0 before coming back to win 2:3?. No one should trust any team to the point of risking everything to bet on them because some times the unexpected happens in the game and the result can turn around to be against the best and favourite teams and you will be disappointed after losing your hard earned money, always gamble wisely with the amount you afford to lose.
No risk no reward, and it is expected that every gambler is aware of the risk they are taking, so if he chooses to bet his savings or not, he is super ready to take full responsibility for the outcome. I dont see any point in laughing at him. Betting on Nigeria to win Morocco in the final was actually a good bet, even if it turns out to be one of the worst decision in the first half. But football is unpredictable, even the strongest teams can have a bad day. It came early in the first half for the Super Falcons but they later managed to win the match and the said gambler won his bet.

He has that believe that his selection will definitely play for him to say he can stake his life savings. Some persons gamble fun while some see it as a business which will generate profit and I agree with that. Gambling is something we should take seriously that's if you're into it not sitting down and wasting your money on something that you know won't bring any profit. @Cossyblack can be the type that don't joke with any game he believe will play and if he had seen this... I believe he would have made a lot of gain from the Super Falcons. @Mayor of ogba, from what @Cossyblack I don't think he is new in gambling at all, this guy is a stone cold gambler.

I was overjoyed, and I still find nothing wrong with the government sponsoring and honouring the Super Falcons with such a large sum of money apiece, as well as a home and land. Well, I believe they deserve better. These people work considerably harder on the games, and they need to be fed well, so this might improve their prospects while also making them feel like the government is behind them in every way. Furthermore, I believe that the government's financial resources are sufficient to pay such a reward without compromising other sectors. I believe that if the government believes it is necessary to assist them in making their lives more pleasant, that is quite legitimate.

We really need to appreciate the Super Falcon's team for this great achievement, as such parade for them will be a memorable one especially in the presence of their fans, if the Nigerian government in the name of NFF treats this team well it definitely will encourage them to do more in the future, we used to hear series of stories in the past how players were not treated well in the past after they achieved a national honor, but I believe this is now a story of the past. Some people in Nigeria are against government for giving the Super Falcon's $100k each and also a house or a land, I really don't see why people are angry about that reward is nothing to government the money is there and I don't see anything wrong for the government to reward them like that they all deserve it, they have lifted the African cup of nation 10 times so I see no reason why people should be angry or saying that the reward given to them by the Federal government in Nigeria is too much, I believe they will do more when they are rewarded very well. I really don't know the problem of Nigerian people when the players are not treated well they complain and now the players are be treated well they are still complaining, if the Nigerian government once to fund money to other places they can do it and the reward they gave to the Super Falcon's didn't prevent it. I heard someone saying that the Federal government should have used the money to develop the country I just laughed please let's change our mindset. You're right the super falcons are not the problems of Nigeria. It's wrong for Nigerians to starts envying the prestigious rewards and gifts the super falcons received from the government. This is a normal thing that has been going on each time our super falcons won the competition. They all deserved more than what they were giving because they worked so hard to earned it. I'm happy because the girls represented Nigeria very well by bringing the trophy home for the 10th times,it's not an easy tasks but the super falcons were able to accomplish all of that. It pains me when our super falcons were not appreciated by most Nigerians. Most of this Nigerians dragging our super falcons on the social media should redirect their problems to the corrupt government that were elected democratically by the same corrupt system. Some of this bitter Nigerians should understand that the super falcons doesn't deserve all this negative energy but deserved a national celebration for making us proud.

Even though it's not part of our culture, since European clubs and countries used to parade when they won trophies, it's not bad if the Nigeria Super Falcons decide to parade after winning the Women's African Cup of Nations because for what they did in the final, they deserve the parade if that will make them feel happy. Even though the money our president promised to give to the Super Falcons is too much, I just hope he fulfills his promise, and it shouldn't be audio money.

If such a big success is not valued, then the Super Falcons will be disrespected. If they are encouraged, the expectation of more victories will work within the team. Even then, other footballers will try to perform better to play for the national team. So, there will be a huge improvement in women's football. For this victory, I think the decision of the parade is definitely positive and if more efforts are taken that would be good. Nigeria Super Falcons will be greatly inspired by it. The President has promised that he will definitely fulfill it. If such an announcement is not implemented after announcing, then it will definitely not be supported by the general public.

The Idea for this parade is not bad and infact it's a good move as this will also help to boost the game in Nigeria and the continent at large. About their take home banquet, I have been in awe since the announcement. The price for this trophy is $1 million dollars equivalent to #1.52 billion. So why would he now issue a total of $2.85 billion out in appreciation for winning $1.52 billion? Haha. Business wise it's wrong but on the other hand I'm happy for the super falcons for achieving such fear and also for hitting such bounty return. Let's not also forget that their prices also include a house each, this is massive indeed. I hope he will continue this tempo because both the super eagles and flying eagles are definitely going to sit up and go for the gold next time.

It's quite unfortunate that our super eagles can't replicate same. These ladies deserved it, and seeing that they had to come from behind to win the game makes everything even more special. We just need to stop all these unnecessary hate and learn to give flowers to those that has done well. Congrats to them.

Just as you have made mention of, I think Nigerians should focus on holding accountable the government officials who might be corrupt rather than envying the players's reward.

One thing we should know is that when it comes to matters like this, and generally, people would complain, be it a good event or a bad event, there are still people out there who will still complain about it. The government did what they could to cheer and motivate the team to do more, and besides, there is nothing wrong with gifting the athletes for their victory performance at the just concluded WAFCON. If the cup wasn't an important one, why is Morocco petitioning the Super Falcon and the referee? This goes to show you that it is most cherished and worth winning so it is not a bad idea to gift them such prizes and as a matter of fact, Nigeria is so blessed and rich that the total amount of the rewards given to the athletes including the technical crew and coach is insignificant to the least budget spending in the Aso Villa.

Remarks like this are very laughable, I wonder why some people will be disturbing themselves about what the falcons got, they deserve it by all means. These are athletes that worked very hard to play for the country, especially in that finals against Morocco, where most of us have lost hope about them winning Gold. I'm sure that if it were any complainant's family and friends where they'll benefit from the money we won't hear their complaints. They are bunch of hypocrites, why don't they focus their energy on the massive mismanagement in government. How politicians are looting and embezzling public funds without conscience.

They don't need to like the president and his wife but I don't see anything wrong in the young ladies kneeling to receive "president handshake". I think that most of these haters are just envious of what the falcons were receiving.
anyone that criticizes the gesture of the super falcons while greeting the president did not watch the video with an open mind or maybe just watched some cut and join clip that did not portray the exact thing that happened. we know that the Yoruba's doe instance always prostrate while greeting the elderly ones, you do not expect them to stand and greet the president and his wife just because in other nations, that is what is obtainable there. other players that are from tribes where they kneel to greet the elders also did according to the greeting pattern of heir tribe and those that are used to the use of hand shake also shacked the president and walks off. regardless of the fact that a lot of citizens are not okay with the president, as long as he remains in office, he remains our president and there is no amount of disregarding of his personality that can change that fact. the girls did well in representing the country and the president did well in giving them a presidential honor, case close. every other thing are just side talks that does not count.

The Super falcons deserved what they got tbh, and I think other countries would have done the same without thinking twice. Even across Europes, players receives bonuses, which is different from their salaries, so i don't see the need for the hate in the first place. I no that our government are known for unnecessary spending on things that doesn't make a significant meaning to the country but all this money they have spent on this players are definitely not a waste and nobody should think about it in that manner because if is about empowerment they are saying of course is also an empowerment to the players because the money will definitely effect very well on their lives, there is no how we would have even seen this money if not for this so actually the development that would be sufficient for this country is not $3 Million or even $4 million because is too small for a country as wide as Nigeria.
