Hy guys, running monero 14.1 linux 64 bit and starting the lmdb with --prune-blockchain from scratch, do i have to use the --prune-blockchain everytime i synchronize or does monerod recognize the pruned database, so i can start with monerod? Thanks  --prune-blockchain has to be used (as startup flag) upon every startup of monerod. Hy there, ok, thanks for clarifying! In the next release, do you think it would be possible to detect a "pruned" blockchain upon start of ./monerod in order to avoid two DB's? Kind regards Can you perhaps clarify? The 'new' pruned blockchain file will always be used as default file (you can delete the 'old' blockchain file). |

How do you take a 75 GB blockchain and prune it without losing your wallet transaction blocks?

I deleted the old lmdb file, and started ./monerod --prune-blockchain from scratch, so i do just have one lmdb file named lmdb. Currently at 80% still syncing, so that is why i am asking, hoping this helps your answer |

First make sure all Monero related processes are closed. Thereafter, you can utilize the prune-blockchain tool that is included. This will convert your 'old' blockchain file (i.e. data.mdb) to a 'new' pruned blockchain file. |

At this point, we're working on a fork of monero-wallet-gui to support the same workflow of multisignature wallets. Great but no desktop version as of now so... |

The new daemon works perfect. Syncing is much faster! Took about 12h to get 100% and even the cpu load and memory usage of my device does not even reach 15%. Good job!  |

I was just thinking about giving cryptocurrencies as a gift for special occasions, it can be a very good gift. Similar to small gold bars. I already gave a paper wallet as a gift to one of my family members, but you've taken it to next level, very nice design. Happy to see there is interest for them. |
