And here we are! Minera 0.3.0 is out!

Get Minera

Since this version Minera includes and supports the following miner softwares:

* CPUminer-GC3355 fork
* BFGminer latest original version
* CGminer latest original version
* CGminer Dmaxl Zeus fork

It should support every CG/BFGminer forks as well.

This is the biggest update since its birth, so bugs and issues are extremely possible, I hope you can help me find and fix them.

ATTENTION - UPDATE NOTE: if you are upgrading from a previous version please DO NOT USE THE WEB UPDATE. This update have to install new packages (most of them needed libraries) and it could take up to 5 minutes to complete. So it's strongly recommended to do it via SSH, instead using the web click&update, these are the commands needed to do a good update:

Code:
cd /var/www/minera
sudo git fetch --all
sudo git reset --hard origin/master
sudo ./upgrade_minera.sh

NOTE FOR NON-RASPBERRY: if you are using Minera in a system different than Raspberry (like an Ubuntu PC), you have to download, configure and compile each miner (excluding cpuminer/minerd). I'm sorry but I hadn't the time to do that. So just get your binary ready and overwrite it in the minera-bin/ directory (keep the same filename).

FINAL NOTES:
I haven't hardwares, I have only some Gridseeds and I did some tests only with those, this release should support a really wide range of hardware and adding forks is quite simple, so please do some tests and let me know your feedbacks.

Gridseeds and Zeus devices are supported by BFGMiner and CGminer Dmaxl, each of this should support them contemporary (please let me know if it's true). Of course it's still preferable using CPUminer if you own only Gridseeds.

Innosilicon note: Unfortunately there's no way to get a cgminer source for this kind of hardware, so I suppose Minera still doesn't support them, but I'm not giving up on this...

Each miner is compiled with --enable-scrypt option.

Changelog

* Added miner software switcher
* Included CPUminer, CGminer, BFGminer, CGminer Dmaxl Zeus fork
* Added scheduled event (reboot/restart)
* Added ajax methods for save settings and miner actions
* Various bug fixes

Image file for Raspberry is coming in few hours.

I'm really excited and I can't wait read your feedbacks.

Get Minera

Have a nice week and happy mining!

Please can you (all) tell me with what miner and hardware you are using v0.3.0? Could be useful for users to add tested devices to the README.
Thanks!

Ewwy, I am terrified to even try this on my fury.

I will do some testing...

Very scary indeed as I don't know what the defaults are set at etc etc etc.

First report:

cpuminer works as always but...

bfgminer, using the scan all option, reports this error:

ModMiner detect: no response to version request from /dev/ttyACM0
ModMiner detect: no response to version request from /dev/ttyACM1

 Huh

with cgminer I can't even see the real time log using the dashboard but it's reporting a null hasrate.  Huh

As soon as I have time, I will check all of this via SSH. Now it's time to go for a swim in the ocean  Grin

More to follow...

Nothing to be scared of, BFGMiner has been used for ZeusMiners by many folks. The defaults are the same as the ZM CGMiner 3.1 fork: 328 clock speed.

ModMiner detect: no response to version request from /dev/ttyACM0
ModMiner detect: no response to version request from /dev/ttyACM1

That's not an error (or shouldn't be treated as such) - it's just debug output.

Did you try BFGminer? It supports Zeus as well as Cgminer Dmaxl.

I dont know how to run bfgminer. Need extra cmd.

But --zeus-clock 354 --zeus-nocheck-golden --zeus-chips 6 should work for dmaxl's cgminer.

Check the logs and/or "screen -r"

With Bfgminer you can try with:

Code:
--scrypt -S zus:all --set zus:chips=6 --set zus:clock=354 --set zus:ignore_golden_nonce=1

Check the logs and/or "screen -r"

With Bfgminer you can try with:

Code:
--scrypt -S zus:all --set zus:chips=6 --set zus:clock=354 --set zus:ignore_golden_nonce=1

Note that ignore_golden_nonce should not be used unless absolutely necessary (and it should not be necessary with any recent hardware). It's only for older, buggy revisions and it reduces the accuracy of the estimated hash rates.

Also, 6 is the default number of chips so that can be omitted. You only need to specify chips if you have more than 6.
