Hello! Hitbtc team here! Two days ago we announced the creation of a new mascot for the Vericoin community. So - how about this one? But he doesn't have a name yet. Can anyone help us out with that?  Hey Monkey get Funky  Looks cool! what the fuck is going on |

I think he has lost his phone before and with wallet open that Could be a nice find for a potential thief. Well if that was what he was thinking, he's an arrogant moron, as unlocking your wallet for staking does not unlock it for spending. Your phone could be stolen and, as long as you did as you should and had created a backup key, you would just download a new wallet and import it. But, sure, maybe there was some *really* smart reason why he posted his smart-ass answer. I could be wrong, it has happened on occasion. |

the vericoin selling point is the variable interest so I really hope that is a staking wallet  i wouldn't be staking with my phone.. why risk losing a lot of coins? plus i can imagine the battery life esp when you are outside what i mean is i stake my coins with my computer at home and have some coins in my android wallet for what i need (like money in the bank and money in the purse). you dont want to be putting all your money in your purse, would you? plus a phone has a higher chance of getting lost somewhere than a laptop at home.. I don't see that as a sufficient reason not to have staking on mobile. Losing your phone does not mean you loose your coins unless the founder cracks your encryption before you arrive at the PC and move the coins. That assumes you have backup. Also some people travel a lot and they can't keep their PC at home running for weeks. I would be interested in the drawbacks of implementing staking on the mobile wallet. It might be eating too many resources but you can use accumulators, car chargers etc ..having an option like: stake only when plugged. |

I would tend to agree. People associate the mascot's traits with the item it represents. I don't think the monkey is the right fit... |

This whole mascot thing is just spam intended to get people to visit and register on that exchange. VeriCoin does not need a mascot; it's a bad idea that will only hurt the value of the coin. Please don't forward/retweet this mascot silliness.

I think Pat addressed the idea of a staking wallet in the last hangout. Not feasible (now). Edit: Primarily because of the storage constraints. |
