Fantastic news. It's great to see the devs hard work come to fruition.

Fingers crossed that there's no serious hiccups along the alpha testing - not that it couldn't be delt with im sure.

I am curious though as to where you're obtaining these pics. I noticed you're not on the dev list but some background on these images would be handy just to rule out any and all doubt others may express.

We are now in process of testing the closed alpha version of client. there are 30-ish people who are involved in this. In 2 days, that testing will become open to everyone. Smiley

I've obtained it from my own PC(you can see my name in the right upper corner, this is wallet's name)

Iota is a brand new and novel micro-transaction cryptotoken optimized for the Internet-of-Things (IoT). Unlike the complex and heavy blockchains of Bitcoin and the like, which were designed with other uses in mind, Iota is created to be as lightweight as possible, hence the name "Iota" with emphasis on the ‘IoT’ part.

Here is a video I made of the alpha client, sorry it is not very good this is the first time I have made one:

https://mega.co.nz/#!Vl1xxIIY!OpqMHlSAc9V62_RmliWz8mjYOupJReZkbWv9zd5Nlyg

Cool! The Queen background song was perfectly selected.

Thank you Smiley

Here is the youtube link, sorry for the blurry video, this is the first one I made.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYE3hOnsNv8

This is awesome.

Anyone else have a song or theme music to go with future NEM videos? We should come up with a list of recommended music, this will help inspire others to create a NEM video.
1. Queen - I Want To Break Free
2.
3.
4.
5.
...

Can't say i'd recommend this - seems far too lighthearted and humorous for something as serious investment. This is a future currency we're talking about here.

The NXT video with it's song Palladio was good, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBwa8nqtris

A classical song that portrays the solidarity, reliability and trustworthiness is what we need. Not something like Queen.

This video was made to show how the alpha worked, it is not intended to be an official video.

Does anybody know which features can be tested in the alpha? Is it only send / receive (funds and messages)?
what about the Asset exchange? Also I am sure I saw on the first fundraising thread that there could be an auction based exchange? Is that still the case? I would really love to use that instead of ebay.

AFAIK The excact details on the auction aren't published yet.

Regarding the Alpha Version.
You'll be able to test POI (Proof of Importance), Encrypted message sending through transactions, Incomming and outgoing transactions, multiple adresses on a single account, Running your local node and see how the interactive client works Smiley

Didnt mean the stake auction after alpha. what I mean is a distributed auction based exchange. much like this

http://www.coindesk.com/openbazaar-bitcoin-build-decentralised-ebay/

this is why I ask (taken from first fund raising thread) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422129.0

"NEM ...could have following features

- Decentralized Marketplace / Auction - Buy or sell goods/services in a distributed manner.  All listings are broadcast to all nodes on the network in P2P fashion."

Love to see what is going on in AE with price of stakes, sometimes I say to myself, damn, you should ask for token, but then I think about where will be price in six months, and again I feel relaxed.  Wink

Hah, thats great. Although i can't say i'd recommend queen for any "professional" marketing videos, doesn't mean i don't like them. I love myself a bit of Queen.

Nicely done, cheers for sharing this.
