Well, the only thing broken is that the webinterface isn´t available anymore.
It runs at around 505GH average after I put small heatsinks on the DCDCs (I had them lying around) and some overclocking, obviously.
Erm how do I reflash the firmware from SSH....
Interesting. I'm going to do the following: - hook a scope probe to U25 on each side and see if there's anything interesting there (dropouts etc.) - I'll put heatsinks on the regs of one side of the miner only, and see if there's a measurable difference (or attempt to). Heatsinks will go on the top surface of the regs only for now. Lots of space on/around the top; not as crammed as other designs. I'll post some thermals later on or tomorrow AM

I'll post some thermals later on or tomorrow AM To be fair, I didn´t do any exact thermal measurments (or exact GH measurements) on my DCDCs, so it could possibly have worked at that GH without the additional heatsinks. I just had them lying around and thought additional heatsinks couldn´t possibly lower the hashrates, so I attached them. I was also thinking about maybe reapplying thermal paste, but without access to my webinterface I couldn´t even say whether that lowered temps. When I open the unit the next time I can take some pics.

Yeah, they're not going to hurt anything - unless one comes loose and shorts the reg to ground I was going to do some measurements anyways, and it only took a few minutes to stick on some heatsinks. This particular miner is the dog of the litter (high error rate) and I'm interested to see if that's easily fixed.

I see my coupons now .075btc x 3
when do they expire? expiration date is useful to know since it will give an indication when they will be available again for batch 4. I predict there will be a big drop in price for batch 5, the reason is simple for batch 4 there are a lot of coupons for the people that did not want the refund which reduces the need for price reduction beyond the 7.7% for drop hash rate, and another 9% for difficulty increase, but as expected they will sell out quickly, for batch 5 all the coupons will be gone, and further increases in difficulty will force them to drop the price further, and by then mostly everyone that wanted one will have at least one, once they start selling from stock is when prices will be the lowest, just like it happened with the S1, history repeats. currently the s3 is the best deal for the money that I am aware of.

Use 1 corsair CX750W for 2 S3 with that frequency(212,50 - 362 W), or 1 corsair for each S3, and buy i dont know a 1000W new PSU for 2 more S3. thanks

One of the temps on my s3 is showing 248 which is keeping the fans at full speed. Otherwise it seems to be working. Anyone else have this problem?
What are you baking in there? It should shut off at 80C. Both of mine are no higher than 41C. Either the temperature gauge is way off or you've got thermal paste spread all over it like peanut butter. It's still set to shut off at 80c, it never has though. Now it's reporting 1c for the temp and the fans are running slower then my other units.

I have used it with 3 s1, and now using it with 2 s3, it can easily handle 3 s3.

Anyways, small changes in frequency requiere also 4 PCIE?? i mean whats stock frequency? 225??if i change to 237,5 i need 4 PCIE? thanks

Both antec and xfx I have used them in the past under an extreme environment with great success.

You need: a PSU of at least 600w bronze per s3. (i'm using a 100w gold PSU for my 2) and a web browser to go to the ip of the miners for configuration purposes (default 192.168.1.99)

I really wish Bitmain would make a post about Batch 4 and the reported issues we've had with the first three batches.
Not sure if I should take the refund or coupon. Performance is less than 7.7% difference on some units, it appears ~33.33% (3 repeating, of course...) of the units exhibit performance below the stated 441GH/s, and the random beeping... OH THE BEEPING... WHY GOD, WHY !?!???
