I really wish Bitmain would make a post about Batch 4 and the reported issues we've had with the first three batches.

Not sure if I should take the refund or coupon. Performance is less than 7.7% difference on some units, it appears ~33.33% (3 repeating, of course...) of the units exhibit performance below the stated 441GH/s, and the random beeping... OH THE BEEPING... WHY GOD, WHY !?!???

I have to ask though, do you keep them in your bedroom or what? I've got 15 of them and it's not like you can hear them trough walls and closed doors, or maybe I've gone deaf from all the beeping when setting them up!

You are spot on on the performance issues however, I'm not done with testing my units since I received the last 5 today but it looks like 3-4 out of 15 in total have trouble with stock speed, then again it's more than compensated by a few of the units managing 450gh+, seems Bitmain should have maybe clocked them slightly lower to ensure a larger % could handle stock, even S1 had the odd lemon that had problem with 180GH/s but they were few and far between.

3. Beeper rings randomly?
We set a beeper ring alert in the first version of firmware, to alert users when there is no immediate hashing work due to bad pool configuration.
However this alert will be removed in the later version of firmware.
Users can download new version firmware on July 25.

I see my coupons now .075btc x 3

when do they expire? expiration date is useful to know since it will give an indication when they will be available again for batch 4.

I predict there will be a big drop in price for batch 5, the reason is simple for batch 4 there are a lot of coupons for the people that did not want the refund which reduces the need for price reduction beyond the 7.7% for drop hash rate, and another 9% for difficulty increase, but as expected they will sell out quickly, for batch 5  all the coupons will be gone, and further increases in difficulty will force them to drop the price further, and by then mostly everyone that wanted one will have at least one, once they start selling from stock is when prices will be the lowest, just like it happened with the S1, history repeats. currently the s3 is the best deal for the money that I am aware of.

for me, validity time:

2014-07-12 00:00:00~2014-08-16 00:00:00

What do you recommend me guys then if i plan to run 2 S3 at 212,50 Frequency(~424,81 GH/s? - 362W / each, 724 W total). Use 1 corsair CX750W for 2 S3 with that frequency(212,50 - 362 W), or 1 corsair for each S3, and buy i dont know a 1000W new PSU for 2 more S3.

thanks

I recommend the antec hcp1300 platinum it is very good and has 16ga cables, a total of 10 pci-e connectors.
I have used it with 3 s1, and now using it with 2 s3, it can easily handle 3 s3.

Ufff checked prizes and antec costs 305 EUR vs my 86 EUR Corsair CX750W. So expensive for me i think that Antec Undecided

I'm also interested in coupons, 2 or 3.  If you don't need them, or are willing to part with them, please PM me your offer, or if you're feeling really generous, I'm mdude on bitmaintech.

I'm going to be away for most of today, probably returning right when sales open. which is about 4 hours after sales open.  I hope there are some left. Sad

Thanks!

do i need a psu? what do i use to control it?

You need:

a PSU of at least 600w bronze per s3. (i'm using a 100w gold PSU for my 2)

and a web browser to go to the ip of the miners for configuration purposes (default 192.168.1.99)

My 500W Corsairs are working just fine. I don't intend to oc, so it's OK that the 500W only s 2 pci-e.

Rather than removing it completely add an option to disable it.
I have no issues with the beeper and its not alerting me unnecessary.
I have a Fiber Option Internet connection of 4/8mbps. No unwanted beeps.

There is no option for me to get the refund of 7.7% from S3 B1, anyone else?
And I'm seeing 2 coupons of 0.75 per order.
BITMAIN never said about a deadline anywhere to request the refund.
BITMAIN please reinstate the option to redeem as coupon or btc.

I think it stated on the website. If you don't choose the refund option they will default to coupons by the 22nd.

I received an email today confirming my bitcoin address for the refunds.

Message me if you have any problems

I'm not surprised at all.  The Corsair CX500 (if that's what you're referring to) has a maximum of 456WDC on the +12V rail which equates to 536WAC at the wall at 85% efficiency.  At 80% load (20% headroom), the CX500 would be drawing 429WAC at the wall.  Therefore, buying a CX600 or a CX750 to power a single S3 is a waste of $.

Current CX500 deals at the Egg:

CX500 - $29.99 after $20 rebate
CX500M - $34.99 after $20 rebate and $5 off promo code

No its nowhere stated in the website or forum by BITMAIN.
Ideally they should email the previous ordered customers.
That the usual practice. The deadline of 22 is said by a member of this forum.
That was not an official statement and he have no relations with the company.
I don't remember who was the member.

Yes, I read a message somewhere, I think it was in this forum that we had until 22nd July.  I chose refund, and also received an email telling me that the refund will be paid into my BTC wallet, but didn't say when?  So far, the refund hasn't turned up in my BTC wallet.

Our customer service guy will contact you.
Wow ! Thank you very much for the response. I was not expecting that, along with the personal email (No news on Batch 4, folks). I half-jokingly made that post, not expecting such a response.

<3

I have to ask though, do you keep them in your bedroom or what?
Honestly, I have three units on the other side of the wall outside our bedroom (Have most of my house circuits loaded with ~1000kW worth of mining hardware.) I've already modified the S3's by trying to cover up the speaker inside, but alas, they are still slightly audible whenever they do (seemingly) randomly beep.

On a related note, I'm moving my entire operation to a DC next month, and have the most tolerant and patient wife in the world.
