Let's put the forking debate to rest history books.

 Grin

Seriously though, it's the occasion for the community to unite even more.

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's.
This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

I agree, any additional talk about forking to change emission can go in this thread too: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=857112.0

The topic of that thread is :  Why do we never get a topic on inflation in this section?

I think it would be good to carry on additional inquisition into the nature of the social contract and emission style there for three reasons: One because it looks like the proposal is rocky here, and two because I believe the topic will persist regardless of our current opinion, even concrete decision is made, and three because there are some people here who are obviously completely uncomfortable even discussing the subject. It's safe to say it's a heated topic and I'm sure the input that people can provide both here, and there, would greatly benefit any and all currencies on this forum. Especially this one, as we're literally in the midst of perpetually asking ourselves the same question.

It might be good to move a little bit away from groupthink, not that I'm accusing anyone of that, but getting the opinions of other people who otherwise wouldn't have an interest in this coin at all, and are just looking to debate the topic objectively, might help everyone come to a better understanding of the situation at hand, and possibly better form an objective point of view.

Currently, the thread is a little derailed.

And it's only at the end of fall, that we discover it was naught but the wind that knew when one particular leaf was to fall from one particular tree, only to land in one distinct spot .. to be left for an eternity, and waste its time in a wait sublime. C0A2A1C4

Lol I own XMR but watching people say "this is the bottom" all the way from 1k on bitcoin makes me chuckle when I see this.

Another whale exits, inflation continues and bitcoin drops to 290 and it could easily half again.

There was a misunderstanding.
It seems that at least changing the block time is still possible.

Sorry for the confusion.

I'd be surprised if 16 holds.  At some point that guy is going to pull his wall.

If he's trying to artificially hold the price up he's going to realize he'll eventually get sold thru.  If he's trying to accumulate he'll see he can get it cheaper.

Not sure how many btc RP has but my guess is he's going to lose his stomach if btc keeps falling.

I'm not brave enough to sell my XMR but I see nothing coming but a buyers market till btc turns around, inflation slows and we have a solid wallet.

My guess is it'll turn around fast and dramatically when it does.  But it may be longer than people expect

Significant chunks were eaten from 1652 days ago and it didn't budge.

btc keep falling?  Been gong up the last week and FWIW the sentiment is that it has turned around.

if you get your objectives clear (no chow chow short term as well as binary outcome) it is probably the best investment you can make this year.

I still give it more than 25% to become the dominant decentralized private ledger.

Interesting .. so about a million usd.   Guess some of how secure he feels probably depends on other sources of revenue,  btc reserves etc.

I think when whales feel insecure (btc falls) is when this coin falls.  I actually like it.  My overall amount in xmr might be worth less but I'm leveraged into owning a much larger percent than the whales who were in a 360 when they still felt secure in bitcoin.  My weekly fiat leverages really well right now in comparison to longterm bitcoin hodlers.

I don't follow up to the minute tracking on bit coin prices but it seemed like it was 430 at some point and monero was almost back to 200.

I think a lot of it depends on crypto currency in general.  To be honest I'm surprised monero hasn't overtaken darkcoin by now

Price did briefly before BCX fud and also before DRK announced its instant payment solution. Both coincided with a widening of the price spread in DRK's favor. Price parity would favor XMR in market cap since XMR has already nearly as many coins and higher inflation.

Yeah so you're saying eventual total supply * price overtook dark total supply * price?

Anybody seen bcx?

No, just price. DRK has slightly higher target supply.

The account is still active. Has shown no interest in XMR. Maybe his FUD contract ran out?

volume is low, do the dumpers run out of steam or are they holding back so they can take down the wall at 165200? daytrading seems impossible, gains are just to small with this tight trading range. seems to me that many shorters park some xmr between 17-20 to catch possible market orders to the upside. if a big player steps in, some of them sure start to panic. MACD divergence on 4h and 6h looks promising, do we move soon or is it just me ?

please share your opinion. Kiss

Activity dropped drastically right after the last of his ever-moving deadlines for XMR's death. Perhaps he's embarrassed to show his face and switched to a new account? Tongue

I wish I'd had weak hands after my vertcoin lost 50%.

It took balls to come back in.  Monero isn't in the same boat as vert was.  But you need to decide why you are invested, if the reasons are the same.  Stay.

If it's changed get the hell out.

95% of altcoins will lose 90% of their value.
