I'm a smalltime miner, mining bitcoin with cgminer. Will this be the best place to solo mine for bitcoin? I want profit from what I mine, not try to hit the lotto. Please let me know if I'm in the wrong place. Would be greatly appreciated if I'm being pointed in the right direction  |

What is your mining hardware? CPU/GPU/ASIC? Many pools won't let you mine BTC with anything other than ASICs. If you are using GPUs you may want to consider mining ALT coins and trading them for BTC. |

No, the market for PCs was saturated years ago, then came GPUs, then ASICs. With the rate of ASICs vs the rate of a PC, you can't even find a pool where a PC would pay any measurable amount of BTC in a year's time. Edit: Or what marty said. |

Look at the Claymore miners, and look in the ALT coin section. Your setup is just a waste of electric on bitcoin. Maybe ZCash or something like there. Also look at Cryptonight algo coins.
