I haven't been paying attention to my miner, but its been running and online the whole time but payouts disappeared between apr 9 and apr 25. Any idea what happened?
Well it obviously lost connection to kano.is and since you weren't paying attention it's been mining to a fail-over or not mining at all. If it were submitting shares here you'd of been paid. If you weren't paying attention whether it was mining or not how can you know it's been "running and online the whole time"? Maybe you ought to pay attention. I have a thing called a business to run, mining is far from a fulltime gig I just have one antminer I picked up to see if it was worth investing more heavily into. Was just looking for input on what to look out for in the future, or how to better monitor it maybe? If the antminer has connectivity loss it is quite audible about it, so I thought its fine as long as it is humming (roaring? louder than our server rack) away in the warehouse. It didn't make a peep until we took the network down for maintenance yesterday. one look a day is all it take under 1 minute. to not check for 16 days was not a good idea. on the bright side if it did 0 mining you lost about 30 -40 bucks in profit. a cheap lesson for you.

Anyone have an idea as to why the BTC network hash rate has dropped so significantly in the past few days? Part of me wonders if it'll spike back up after the next diff change...
It's been happening for months. Somewhere someone has a couple hundred PH that they turn on and off, usually timed with difficulty adjustments so as not to add to the diff adjustment. OR it could be one of the manufactures testing new machines or milking extra profit. OR taking machines offline to send out to customers as new stock before replacing with newer machines.

We should all shut our machines off before the next difficulty increase. It's hard for us small guys, with drastically increasing difficulty all the time.

Well it is late april so the Northern hemisphere is warmer. So some overclocking may be lowered.
we had that 100ph to 150 ph spike go and go . It has been happening since late Nov.
One time it did last 22 days and we had big ass jumps. Most of the time it comes and goes every jump.
I will stick with my first guess made last year a few farms are in Chinese ghost cities. They get powered up now and then with 0 to 2 cent power cost. They consist of older gear.

If the antminer has connectivity loss it is quite audible about it, so I thought its fine as long as it is humming (roaring? louder than our server rack) away in the warehouse. It didn't make a peep until we took the network down for maintenance yesterday. I'm echoing Kano on a couple of things here, but occasionally a newer miner needs info, and a quick reply from us is generally easier than trying to scan 700 pages of dialogue... Anyway, there are things to do that help. (1) Change the password on your miner (CRITICAL), (2) do what a couple of others have suggested re Zach Monroe's site and its functions for "miner down" alerts, and (3) perhaps consider that mining, even with one machine, does require a little more attention that just letting it run and checking it every couple of weeks. The alert beeper on the machine is not to be completely trusted. I run 9 machines in my home, and although I'm retired I do have a lot of commitments that demand my (full-time) attention outside of mining, I try to, at least every few hours, find the time to (1) go to the kano.is site and check my workers' status, and (2) make a quick check of board temps in the machines. One cannot determine profitability on a machine without it having run 24/7 for a week or more without interruption (due to 5Nd). Another thought...if you're running this on your biz network, pay particular attention to how it's configured. I've got a fairly extensive network configuration here (15 drops...don't ask how I do that in a one-bedroom flat), and find that both the S3s and the S7s could lose their connection, or (I dunno how) somehow become incommunicado, without beeping when they're supposed to. I ended up changing the fixed IP setup to DHCP (the BiteMe default is 99), and then reserving the IP addresses for the machines so they always get the same one regardless. As I said, I don't know why, but that solved those issues for me in the beginning. My R6700 router seems happier, and I haven't lost connection for any unknown reason since Feb. Best to you.

Anyone know where blocks 409066, 409062 went? They haven't shown up in my wallet yet. This part of the same weirdness that was going on yesterday?

They'll come in a couple of hours. It's a little after 0400 Kano time is my guess...and those two will be on the first cup of coffee, I'm sure. Nice to have 8 blocks "in the pipe" for funding.

EDIT: Now that I look at totals I see that the wallet has them listed in a different order, presumably because they all confirmed in the same block and it doesn't care about when they were broadcast. So yeah, 408929 looks like the last one.

I suppose that could happen...the timestamp for your wallet incoming will not be the same as the UTC block timestamp, but rather the clock time on your computer. If they were sent out in sequence, not sure how the "out of order" could happen...haven't seen that...but I guess it's possible. And...as I type...here comes 409062 into my wallet. Kano's got his coffee...

Own your wallet can't be said enough that way you're in control I second that a couple of hundred times. I don't keep any btc in either of my exchange wallets, except what is needed for the present transaction. I learned that lesson the hard way some years ago w/Mt. Gox.

I thought they would have shown up in my CoinBase by now, but I am also missing 409066 and 409062. Last one paid for me was 408929. I keep a steady eye on anything going in and out, but those two haven't made it yet.

Power was out on this end of the island for an hour and fifteen minutes...then another 15 minutes for the cable modem to resync...that hurt. Gotta scrape together some backup power for the miners/modem/etc. I can't afford to be remaking 5Nd twice a month (about the average for power going out here).
