I'm not an expert but I would of thought Bitcointalk is actually a perfect place to find an early reviewer. There definitely are some legit coders here who aren't just scammers. This guy after a minute of looking. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=710099.0

I dont see why a review has to cost that much and even if it is flawed it a start to get the ball rolling.
Because complex projects/code needs complex reviews from competent people. I support the idea of a review, but people should find someone who fits the needs and not just find someone for the sake of hype. If the community is able to find someone who we can trust and is well recognised I'm all up for the idea. I think a price rise with the future release of DarkPP and some changes that will make Vanillacoin scale even better will make it possible for us to gather a bigger sum on a crowdfunding. Also I feel that node incentives will have a healthy effect on the long-term price (which we might not sense just yet). I know many are looking toward Dark++ as a kick start to VNL but they might be disappointed...it may at best just produce a short pump and another flood of destructive FUD. I don't see how you can build and market a feature like anominity when of everyone thinks the coin is a scam already and expect a positive result.. One thing I learnt from QORA is great tech doesn't win.....convincing others something is great tech wins.

This guy after a minute of looking. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=710099.0coinsolidation ran off on Bitmark, the coin he was developing, after stealing a lot of money. I believe Bitmark is still being developed from a takeover by community members but not 100% certain. He is not close to capable of the coding John is. Even before Zerotime, a thorough review of Vanillacoin could not have been done by anyone here, and zerotime added many lines of code. It sounds like I'm talking him up too much, but there really just isn't anyone competent here except for John.

But surely you don't need to be a genius to understand the work of one. Just to throw another random name out this guy helped out Qora....I do believe this forum has some talented people though conflicts of interest makes it tricky for sure. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=44572

Also, in his profile, someone theymos put into the default trust category is accusing him of a bunch of things. Don't let me discourage you from asking people though. If someone just wants to look into the code and gets excited, maybe they'll buy some and start touting it. Someone who has influence and who maybe could properly review the code would be this guy: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=7314Problems: 1. It would take him at least a month to do a thorough review and his salary is over $10,000 a month 2. Conflict of interest 3. He has to spend all his time on Ethereum so he probably wouldn't be able do it no matter how much we paid him So, there are more than a few obstacles to getting a worthwhile review, but feel free to message every developer to look into Vanillacoin's code. We're bound to get a few converts.

My node have not received incentive for five days and always have status: "votecandidate": true. I restarted node, but it didn't help. What can be wrong? My another node receive few rewards every day.
http://vanillacoin.net/wiki/Technologies/Node%20Incentives.mdIs there a guarantee I will be chosen to receive an incentive reward?
No, some peers may not be providing reliable service or have bad luck due to variance. 5 days is really a bad streak, sometimes I don't recieve rewards on one of my nodes for a day or two (rare) max. I saw that only 13 tcp connections in this node, when another node had > 30. Maybe this is the reason, but i don't know how fix this. config.dat is identical and before 0.3.8 was released i received rewards...

You could try Riseman's suggestion: Also had that issue. Seems like you have to resend the collateral to your default address after certain updates.

Only if the price of BTC rises by 20% from the current value. VNL isn't any cheaper than a month ago, BTC is just worth more and the price adjusted to stay ~relative. The charts aren't real in that regard and neither is the price. When BTC starts getting unloaded, the opposite occurs, naturally and historically. Thank you for your support.

coolest coin out there.. for any of you that havent tried the zt lock feature, check it out it is very handy when you want to respend coins right away and didnt have them sent to you with zt Version 0.3.8 is now ready. This version supports the ability to change your wallet password and remotely lock non-ZeroTime transactions by right clicking on an unconfirmed transaction and clicking "Lock". Additionaly this upgrade includes general bug fixes and performance improvements.

Exactly... but what can you say to nextcointroll on a mission!?! Communities need some discernment otherwise they look like a weird bunch of hillbillies who don't like intruders. If there is anything that has a negative impact on a coin it's this. Talking about a code review is about answering your critics...for holders sake. Not everyone is out to get you...and it's immature assuming everyone is. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this continues this coin dies just cause everyone gets pissed with the community and it builds up a rep as a hated coin. Qora was trolled to death by NEM and NXT to open source the code and was FUDed it was a clone. It pretty much missed its window of moving up with NXT as a brand new code and by the time it did open source no one cared cause there was 5 other coins which also were new codes. Just dont make this mistake.....another coin could rip VNL off now and everyone could pile into them and leave VNL in the dust. There already are a few people who seem to think they will have a coin that does something similar.

I agree, everyone should always research independently and not listen to opinions from people whom they do not even know. Also, Qora was Java code, the coin was dead before it was launched, like most Java apps they are inherently insecure. On top of all of this Qora was an ICO P&D. Thank you for your support.

I agree with what Nextgencoin is saying... VNL is the most innovating coin out there atm, but what is that worth if no one but a small group of vnl fanatics decides to adopt it?
We should walk the thin line between overhyping and doing what we are doing right now...no PR at all... We all know how easy it is to damage an image...and how hard it is to regain that trust...
If a coin review is what the market is asking for in order to regain that trust, a coin review is what we should offer them... and we should use that as part of our PR campaign...

The charts aren't real in that regard and neither is the price. When BTC starts getting unloaded, the opposite occurs, naturally and historically. Thank you for your support. John When VNL was at it's ATH in august, BTC had a value of 283$... That means that 10K VNL was worth about 1548$ As for today, 10K VNL would cost you only 336,28$ that's a 78% price drop from the ATH point. Now, this isn't the way I'm looking at my investment, to me 1VNL is just 1VNL no matter what the value of 1 BTC is, I'm in for the long run. But you have to at least understand that to most investors a 78% price drop is quiet dramatic... Regards Goldmaxx
