1021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi nakamotos board game on: March 18, 2023, 10:12:03 PM
Its a post from reddit https://ibb.co/DVsn7s4
https://ibb.co/25Hd7jF you can check it out let me know what you think I think there might be some truth to it the private keys hidden in the game contain satoshis earliest btc wallet the ones that had  a lot of btc in it

Lol. It sounds like a movie plot. No way Satoshi would place those private keys on an obscure board game knowing someone could masquerade as him/her with those on their hand. and no mention of this was made either. Remember, private keys = ownership.

To add on, I skimmed at their previous posts and they're into conspiracy theories. No reason to believe this.

Not exactly a 10-year service, but I still prefer how local cryptos closed their doors. They refused to bow down to the KYC bullshit.

I had my KYC done there . What do you think will happen to the KYC documents there ?

Local Cryptos never required KYC. Some sellers however required sending IDs but that's outside LC's control.

If we're talking about localbitcoins, they're gdpr compliant so hopefully the conditions are better but at the end of the day, there's no way for us to confirm - we'll never know.

1025  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I need to receive satoshi from a big wallet on: March 16, 2023, 12:24:43 PM
They want to hire someone who has the ability to trade large amounts of bitcoins. and they have this term to be done as a proof. anyway this is a required term and they do not change it. they are active in real estate business and want to enter in crypto investing and trading and do not want to change this term. they want to a transaction of 10 BTC or less to be done as proof from a big wallet that is not for an exchange (having less than total 1000 sending transactions)

Unsure why should people help you pretend to be that well off given how rampant crypto mind game scams are... but it's unlikely you'll find someone that rich here.

I can really tell they don't know much about bitcoin/crypto since they're supposed to ask for a signed message for this.

1030  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin wallet on an old pc on: March 15, 2023, 11:26:12 PM
Keep pretending as if you don't know how important the information you are sharing is, I bet you are doing this knowing that someone could try to import the seed into their own wallet, even a newbie knows how important recovery seed can be before telling them, because every crypto wallet warns not to share recovery seed with anyone. Nice try Grin

I tried to lookup the seed and found it in some wallet dump website lol - I won't be posting the link here but anyone could see for themselves by looking it up. Indeed, op could be pretending to not know anything or was too much of a newbie they fell for some weird promise...

1031  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I need to receive satoshi from a big wallet on: March 15, 2023, 05:29:52 PM
You can use a bitcoin wallet like https://electrum.org/#download. Also see: How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum. With that amount, I'd do it in a clean and offline device.

If we're talking about testnet, see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5393289.0

On another note, can I affirm that you're not in some weird situation op? just asking since scams are pretty rampant...
1032  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin wallet on an old pc on: March 15, 2023, 04:02:52 PM
"multibitwallet dot net

Did multibit used this domain? I've only heard of multibit.org which now redirects to their github page meanwhile, the quoted website appears to be infested with malware since multibit has been discontinued yet they have this multibit core available for download.

It reminded me of this particular case, see: I got hacked after downloading a file from multibitwallet dot com
1033  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Beware of changing withdrawal address when using CEX on: March 15, 2023, 02:00:34 PM
I've seen coinbase consider such for "unusual activities" hence I wouldn't be surprised if others followed but I do expect them to couple it with other reasons as well.

A combo of several factors can get a transaction flagged as unusual, like if the funds are being sent to a new address or using a new device.

But yeah, the fact that it could be one of the reasons for unusual activities still ridiculous since we know most wallets change your receiving address after every use... it's also an advice you hear a lot.
1034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Trust Wallet on: March 15, 2023, 12:00:13 AM
I'm sorry for opening two threads. I saw this sub-forum after. I'm just in a lot of trouble here. I guess I can't attach photos here so I'll try to summarize what their customer service said. The site is Verirax.com. First they said I can't use the funds I earned in the mining pool (153,364 USDT) to pay the capital gains tax, which is 40% (62545 USDT). They said upon completion of paying this tax, they will give me an ETH award double the tax (125091 USDT). And I have only 3 days to complete then there will be a 1% fee. If it's after 5 days my account will be frozen and the tax will increase by another 20%.

If you look up pig butchering scams, loads of fake exchanges use similar reasoning (tax) to milk their victims, and obviously, victims don't get their money back... so don't send anymore money, op.

As for dealing with the aftermath, you may read this guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/nz1y8h/what_to_do_when_one_is_in_a_pigbutchering_scam/

If you happen to have sent them personal documents, consider them leaked!
1035  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitTrust bitcoin merchant review site on: March 14, 2023, 03:16:08 PM
I've seen this years ago but ended up avoiding it mainly because of the rampant fake reviews plus the team never really did anything to lessen that. Something as simple as reporting reviews wasn't even present. Seeing how there's still no improvement, it could indeed be abandoned. I think they also used to ranked well in search results and at some point, I just stopped seeing them.
1036  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buy BTC with US Mercury bank on: March 12, 2023, 11:33:10 PM
It appears business accounts includes a debit card which could be another payment method although, the fees probably won’t be friendly. Last resort is to look into getting the money to sit to an accepted payment method in your area first.
1037  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitget exchange on: March 11, 2023, 10:02:58 PM
Those two are the last thing I'd consider when it comes to picking an exchange since they can always pay the popular bunch to advertise for them and there's always a catch when it comes to promotions - I suggest looking into every promos terms before jumping.

Gotta say, I'm not that familiar with this exchange nor buy half of their reported volume. But if we're talking about general usage, there should be better places out there even for no-mandatory kyc full fledged exchanges.
1038  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: EXODUS + N.Exchange = SCAM | STAY AWAY on: March 10, 2023, 10:31:47 PM
Post in r/ExodusWallet (https://www.reddit.com/r/ExodusWallet/). Someone went thru the same thing and was able to get a refund, see: https://www.reddit.com/r/ExodusWallet/comments/xjzl4u/update_of_the_story_about_the_swap_in_the_exodus/

If you get ignored, consider posting in more places as well. Exodus seem to care about their rep and could help put pressure on n.exchange. For instance, there's r/bitcoin and twitter. A bit unethical but you could also pay some crypto-focused twitter users with high following to retweet your post so it gains more views? tho I'm not sure how do you gauge those with a large chunk of fake following which should be looked into.
1039  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Coinwix.com Fake Exchange on: March 09, 2023, 09:49:37 PM
I tried to browse around the website, it seems like they have some connections to Bitget according to this[1]. It is not explicit, but at the time of writing, the e-mail address linked at the bottom of the page will redirect to:
Code:
- support@bitget.com
- BD@bitget.com
- vip@bitget.com
I don't know if this connection is legit or not, or if they just copy what Bitget has. If anyone is interested they can probably ask Bitget[2]. They are neither active nor popular, to begin with, so even if they are legit I'd rather use another platform.

[2] https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5256043.0

Looks like copy pasta to me since they should still be a different entity - don’t see anything that could indicate otherwise - and hence doesn’t add up that they have the exact same privacy policy and user agreement with just the names being different. My guess is they forgot to edit the hyperlinks when they copied from bitget.
1040  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Legitimate and sincere dealers grow fast in business/trade. on: March 08, 2023, 10:35:04 PM
Frankly, scammers will be scammers and they're the last person I expect to have some morals... i doubt pep talks will have an effect on 'em.

Quote from: Godlovesyou
Like in cryptosystem where we deal with invisible assets, most sellers are not sincere and most buyers are not genuine, the feeling who will send first has corrupt original intention of what should be. Eg I want to buy bitcoin worth $3000, I got a trader who is will to sell and he or she said send me your money first and I will like no! I don't know you in person, we meet online! You send BTC to me first through wallet eadrefgdvbgjjhhbcjvnhhbbvgnc. Here our trust has been collapse looking for how sincerity will come again becomes a barrier.

The context here is important. For instance, If you don't have a reputable standing, it makes sense for the other end to be wary of sending first as well. That's why the middle ground approach is to have a reputable middleman/escrow to oversee the trade.
