What is up with everyone in this thread acting like ETH is the only mineable coin?  There are a shitload of other algos out there.  Unless you are using old AMD cards, mining ETH hasn't been the most profitable coin to mine in almost a year.  Blows my mind how people act like the sky is falling and its the end of mining because Bitmain is releasing an "ASIC" that is underpowered and overpriced and not even available for 3 months.

What is up with you and your head in the clouds not realizing that ETH is the main source of income of GPUs both directly and indirectly. Yes, its not the most profitable coin to mine but its what FARMS mine for a steady source of income. If ETH tanks all those mining farms will eat up your little GPU rigs and nothing will be profitable. You are a little fish who is lost in a big sea of miners.

for real 😳 who are these newbies that have no idea how bad the gpu mining buisness was before ether ,ether saved gpu mining
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BITMAIN was mining ETH in their farms ! BITMAIN Is killing GPU miners on: April 03, 2018, 07:49:21 PM
Simple logic, don't buy ASICs from Bitmain.

That's the first battle, easy.

The second is for all pools and blockchain to enable rejection on ASIC mined shares. Difficult but addressable.

There is a good chance that Bitmain will be uncovered and shut down in China but sounds like most of the company work from Taiwan now.

Not only that but there are other companies that are following suit.

Not buying ASICs from one is from one thing, but that doesn't stop bitmain from mining with what they developed.

Yeah but when they get to mine for six months or more and then also sell these same fucking used as new to the idiots out there who won't learn it even helps thier monopoly more

thats more money for RND and also lets the risk it all on any all all algos with zero fear since they know they can sell these heaters to those dumbasses
1043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: April 03, 2018, 07:43:50 PM
From my point of view these are not so bad. The price is "honest". The power is ok. The GPUs have the advantage to be able to mine a lot of other profitable algos. I made most of my profits out f Neoscrypt and other algos. I almost never mine ETH. There are other algos way more profitable than ETH.

BUT if I had a machine dedicated ONLY to ETH with a good price to power to cost ratio then I would probably use it. And I would keep my GPU to mine Neo, Xevan, X17, X16r, X16s and the others with VERY good profit.

From my point of view those are 2 different machines. GPUs and this ETH miner. Also, even if ETH will fork there will be MANY other ETH coins that will not.

Also, this machine will bring the price of the GPUs slightly down which is a GOOD thing. So all in all I see this new miner as a good thing.

The only usually shitty problem is that they will ship it only in July. This means that they will use it FOR GOOD and then ship it to the poor miners. But hey... wouldn't YOU do the same???

Its only a good miner if it ships in a week

wtf would i give them 1k or my fucking money so they can use up the little value the miner has in the next four months WTF are you idiots smoking ?

In four months the diff will be up another 30% at the least , these will have a 1 year ROI by that point, 1k invested in crypto now will be worth like tripple that

Appreciate your support, but isn't it better to send me a few  merits? Not sure what, but I suppose it has some meaning   Grin

lol no one sends me any bro
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: April 03, 2018, 06:42:35 PM
While the efficiency is not to good, the price somewhat makes it a potentially attractive investment. At the current cost of GPUs today you couldn't compare buying a 1070 at $600 that does around 31 MH to this ASIC that costs $800 but does 6 times more hashrate at 180 MH.

It makes the rich who moved mining operations to low-cost electricity areas even richer. The only downside is the 3 month delivery time. That is a long time in crypto and a lot could already happen by then. Makes it too much of a gamble for me.

First of all it is sold out (in few minutes I guess), conclusion: a few number of a cheap multi gpu rig have been pre-sold for 3 months later (fully paid already)

A 18x gpu rig can do the job with even less power consumption and its actual price is not far more than 3 of this Bitmain shit, the multi gpu mb can reduce the overhead of the parts and a smart miner can assemble such a rig with current prices around $5000.

The Bitmain's new shit will cost around $1150  each (shipping + psu) so it is $3500 for 3 pieces.

So, the whole deal is about 30% discount in return for 3 months payment in advance, nothing more, the poor buyer will loose algorithm switching and any other reusability option at the same time.

Bitmain is playing one of its dirtiest games ever: it is dumping the gpu market by a moderately underpriced rig in the name of ASICs (or at least not officially denying it to be ASIC) and this way escalating hype about its unlimited power to crack every gpu based algo (most importantly ethash)

It is just a way to bring down the gpu market and causing a decrease in gpu order and manufacturing pace, to release more capacities  for its own wafer hungry orders to manufacturers and suppliers (in Hong Kong and Taiwan) besides making an opportunity to buy used gpus (to be installed in its fake ASIC ethash miner), which will be dumped to the market because of the hype. It is Bitmain's way to enter the pre-built ethereum mining rigs market. Jihan is the cheapest human being ever, he always does what he is used to: messing up everything blindly and irresponsibly.

If Satoshi was not so naive to choose an algorithm with a small memory footprint like ShA256 or s/he was not that paranoid or irresponsible to leave the community alone in the hands of a bunch of show-off developers who couldn't just be a bit humble and tolerant to converge, this AsIC shit wouldn't happen at all or would be responded by a simple algorithm shift from the first beginning.

Instead look at us now, we have to deal with a monster who 'proudly announces' that he has managed to crack another algorithm, and even worse, he fakes it!

Damn it Satoshi, what did you think?  Grin

But don't worry, we will fix this  Wink , takes time but, this piece of shit is nothing more than a little greedy Chinese whose identity and behavioral pattern is disclosed and disposed to the community.

great post
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: April 03, 2018, 04:08:05 PM
Yesterday the ethereum EIP guys started having much more serious technical discussions about a hard fork.  Maybe this scared Bitmain a little and they released this lame miner to take the pressure off and try to avoid a hard fork.  They probably already have a way more powerful version in the works and are mining with this already given the doubling in hashrate over the past two months.

Also dont forget.....Halong, Baikal and others will be releasing their versions soon.....just like Cryptonight.

Hark Fork is best solution to kill asics, allow decentralization and reduce risk from mostly one company.

More importantly, we need miners to embrace Ethereum and support it....thus building community.  It should not be underestimated how big of a role that miners play in the success and the popularity of Ethereum.  Miners play a big role in public relations and building community and the ultimate success of Ethereum.  Dont scare them away by only allowing the big boys to play with massive Asic mining factories.

^^
I bet this is true
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: April 03, 2018, 04:04:50 PM
There has been a lot of RVN miners coming out.
Anyone have any real stats comparing them?

When I look at a pool site like Ravenminer.com, I see 23 different miners versions being used. Some of those are AMD or CPU but the vast majority are Nvidia miners. There is Enemy 1.03, zealot Enemy 1.0, 2.2.5, Nevermore 0.1, Superminer 1.1, 1.4. 1.5 and 1.6, Raven miner 2.2.5, and more.

i would just like to know which is the most stable.

my previously rock solid rig (when on eth and equihash) has the various rvn miners crash regularly (tried most all of em), sometimes in a few minutes, sometimes in a few hours. rig keeps going on cdm with eth, just the rvn miner stops. so the system stability is good, just the miner crashes.

381.x nv driver, bone stock settings on the cards. 8gb mem, 50 gigs vm, 1600 watts of evga ps using around 1200 at the moment. win10 pro. -i 19 but have tried lower. 2x1080ti, 1070ti, 1070

guess ill just keep playing with it.

I'm using enemy miner for weeks on two rigs including OC without any crashes.

+1 enemy miner and stability.
I've got five rigs, total of 22 1070 Ti's and 5 1070's. No crashing - at -i 20, settings on the 1070Ti PL 70%, +99, - 202; 1070's also at -i 20 are PL 80%, +99,-200. Running stable for days.

what version enemy ? 1.03 ? i 20 crashes all my rigs
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: April 03, 2018, 02:58:05 PM
This basically proves our point that bitmain has had these things raising the difficulty for month
same as the did destroying the profitablity of cryptonite coins.

I bet the only reason they are selling these thing preorder i they have a new stronger version the f3
that probably will replace thier internal e3 farm in june july and will tripple the diff making these useless

just goes to show people thing wecare looney when we say bitmain and the other chipmakers
have asics for every freaking algo, most of the hash rate of all algo except maybe x16

are asic powered, i would say a good 40 percent, most of thee thingz are keptin house
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: April 03, 2018, 02:51:30 PM
So you pony up the money now, Bitmain will use the money to build these and run it for next three months. And send it you when its earns peanuts...

Wonder why they don't have stock already built and ready to ship?
lol don’t be fooled these things are already ready for launch they will mine with them and double the network
difficulty before they ship them, thus the july delivery date
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: April 03, 2018, 02:34:38 PM

The end near. Why Bitmain? No human compassion. Money rules your soul. Probably good news for gamers.  Cry Embarrassed
lol, no one is forcing anyone to buy these human greed is what got bitmain to this place of power

if you buy currencies instead of these heaters you will come out ahead
1051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. No shipping to HK, Macau,Twn) on: April 03, 2018, 02:15:38 PM
So it begins...

Identical performance to a 6 GPU rig at 1/3 of the price. Goodbye Ethereum.

I'd buy one if it didn't come at such a bad time for me. Or if it didn't ship that late.

But no resale value... which makes things slightly more interesting... If you can recoup 2/3rds of the price on a GPU rig at time of sale, it's a wash.
yeah thats a great point ,these heaters will be useles in a year lol
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. No shipping to HK, Macau,Twn) on: April 03, 2018, 02:14:33 PM
Power consumption: 800W
Hashrate: 180MH/s

far from profitable for me

getting 157MH/s with 570W from my 5x 1070 GTX

Far from profitable?  How may 1070's can you buy for $800USD?
price is good but buying eth is beter atm

yeah by july its gona be mining at a loss or $2 a day lol,$800 buys two ethereum
today which is more than that unit will mine in what 10 months?

price is reasonable but delivery time is nuts , but of course these idiots will buy them

Or they should test in a separate environment.

I was thinking this earlier today. I'm sure there's a way they can test in a controlled environment, with a fake coin or setup, without connecting to the real blockchain, mining real coins.
why the fuck would they fake mine when they can real mine for months and sell ur idiot ass a used as new toaster
/doorstop So much comedy on this thread
1055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: A3 Mining on: April 03, 2018, 04:19:29 AM
It's all the new DragonMint B52 Blake2b miners being "tested". Personally I don't believe this burn-in/testing phase.

I think the coins used to test your products should be returned back to the customers. Or they should test in a separate environment.

It's not fair that we order the items, they "test them" for months, destroy the difficulty and profits, and then hand them over. I feel like should be illegal in some way.

Quit buying their stuff.  The pattern is pretty clear right now.
A fool and his money is easily BITMAINED 🤦🏿‍♂️😂😂
1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What happened to GPU mining (late March 2018)? on: April 02, 2018, 03:04:28 AM
Based on a video claiming to show the new Bitmain ethereum ASIC, it's not all that impressive.

1500 Mhash (about 50 1070 or BIOS modded RX 470/480/570/580) but no power number quoted.
At 1000 watts (LOW for a Bitmain miner) it would only be 5x or so as efficient as current GPU mining.
At 1500 watts, it would be LESS THAN 3x more efficient.

Factor in the probably efficiency improvements of the next-gen Nvidia cards (due later this year SOMETIME) and the numbers get even less impressive.

Given the HUGE amount of ETH hashrate alone, even at Bitmain's typical "3000 or so" miners per batch it would take quite a few months for their ASIC to capture *HALF* of the ETH total network hashrate.
Then add in the existing total network hashrate from the other ethash coins like ETC.....

Yes, it's a threat - but it's not going to kill ETH mining soon, and unless they price it CHEAP it's likely to never make enough to pay for itself.
Unlike SIA and X11, it's NOT going to kick the hashrate multiple times higher in less than a month - it's going to be closer to the move in Scrypt where the L3+ and Innosilicon miners are ONLY NOW finally getting deployed in enough numbers to replace the "previous generation" like the A2 and the Titan and make them generally unprofitable.

IMO if Vitalik and crew keep their current target timeframe for POS deployment and actually MEET it for a change, it'll be a waste of time doing a "algo change" fork.

I don't class this miner as a "big mistake" like the Cryptonight ones from Baikal and Bitmain, but it's not looking a TON better.

https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate shows an all-time high spike on March 26, but seems to have been a "day of the week" or "luck" thing as the trend has been a gradual DROP for about 2 weeks now.

lol these companies have made billions being smart not dumb , they ALWAYS make Money on their hardware because either they sell it to you at a high price or like the cryptonite  miners they’ve been using them for six months or longer my name making millions before list them for sale is because the algo change to get a grip

At the end did you receive your miner from asicminermarket?

If so, how long they took to ship it?

thanks!
I think 10 days.

So Baikal is also updating the algorithm for the fork?  If so, that's pretty awesome man.
where did they say that, i cant trust that , they said they would provide two more algo for the x10 six months later nothing
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: March 31, 2018, 08:24:39 PM
this Raven  coin has a serious up side to it.

I see it over 1 usd by December

Haven't had time to check this coin out.

Is it Nvidia only or can you mine With AMD at fair speeds similiar to Nvidia?

Anyone know what speeds it generates with R9 280X, R9 290 and RX 470

AMD = Nvidia in this algo. My 580 8GB averages around 7.8MH/s at 1400 core 1900 memory. 7.2MH/s at stock 1340 core.

470 is around 5-6. Core speed is the bottleneck. Memory is just as important too on AMD.

As for the r9 290 I couldnt launch the amd miner it just freezes.

I spent a few hours yesterday trying to get my Rx 470 rig to mine RVN. I did of a ton of reading on the internet and tried both miners on SMOS.

Best I could get out of 7x 470 4gb  GPUs was 700 khs.

I didn't bother trying a Windows download. I gave up and that rig is back on ETH.

yeah nvidia is way better

with the enemy miner its 20 percent faster yet the calculator says
six 1070 should get 54 mhs but i get 64mhs and sometime 84 at the pool

even my vega 4 card rig caps at 45mhs

nvidia is hands down better with enemy miner
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.6 (Windows/Linux) on: March 31, 2018, 04:23:49 AM

phoneix has lower fees so even with stales its a wash imo

Yes, you are correct.
I forgot to put in the fees with Claymore at 1% and Phoenix at .65%
Just about evens out on that front.

Ummm, 2% stale vs 4-8% stale? So 0.35% fee is worth losing 4% on stales? at that point just use ethminer....
on my nvidia rig after 24 hours stales repoted by phoniex is 1.2

Is that number from the pool or the display in the miner window ?

Edit:
Never mind I see you said it was reported by Phoenix.
Here is the truth about that number.
It is totally worthless. The miner has almost no idea if a share was stale at the pool.
Phoenix even states that if you read all the post's from them about that number.
Trouble is, few actually read more than one page back in a thread.

They rarely mention it because they don't want everyone to know or remember that little fact.
So, everyone sees that and accepts it is the actual stale share rate. I've brought that up to them on
multiple occasions.

In the miner window this is how that message should read:

The stale share number about to be displayed is fictional and is presented for entertainment purposes only.
Your actual stale share rate can only be know at the pool, not in the miner.
Please ignore the above message an tell everyone that this is my stale share rate.

it says 3% at the pool so yeah the miner lies, I just upgraded to the new phonenix , seema i was on 2.7c
ill check stales in 24 hrs
