1061  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did Bitcoin Bring a Smile to Your Face? How Did You Make It Happen? on: August 04, 2023, 03:19:06 PM
I'm new to Bitcoin and the Bitcoin forum, but my curiosity is overflowing. I've come across numerous articles and blogs that share exciting testimonies of how Bitcoin has transformed lives, inspiring some individuals to even quit their jobs.
Some quit their jobs? Well, if they know that they can earn more, and they know that it's stable well I guess there's nothing wrong with it.
I wouldn't suggest this especially if your income source that's related to Bitcoin isn't stable like your current job, but I believe most of these people who are earning thru Bitcoin, and crypto are probably freelancers, or traders at least. Anyway, seeing them quitting their current job to focus on Bitcoin isn't a bad thing because I've done it as well. Smiley

It's heartwarming to imagine the joy on their faces. I'd love for all of us to share our happiest moments when Bitcoin brought a smile to our faces and the steps, we took to experience that happiness.
I don't know how to explain it, but Bitcoin brings smile to me, but at the same time, brings food to our table on a daily basis.
Lesser stress, happier, less working time, more time with family, more time for myself. These are the things that I achieved when I started earning thru Bitcoin, and quitted my past job. I don't have a specific moment where Bitcoin makes me happy, but welcome OP to the crypto forum. Smiley
1062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 04, 2023, 01:48:21 PM
Brian Windhorst came out and said that no other teams outside of Miami have come forward to seriously make a trade offer for Damian Lillard. I’m not sure if it’s his contract, his age, or other teams are just trying to respect his wishes to end up in Miami, but it’s starting to look like Lillard might be a Trailblazer next season. I’m not sure how good that will be for his reputation if he’s disgruntled after being labeled as the most loyal player in the NBA.
I think the fact that he warned everyone already that he will not attend any practice or whatever scrimmages is enough for other teams to just move out, and will not pursue Dame. I guess that's how powerful Dame is right now, and well he deserves it like what other players are doing because he just played his best season last year in terms of stats.

Now with regards to this one, it seems like there are only 2 options for Lillard right now. Either he will stay with the Trail Blazers, and suffer probably the same fate again that he might not clinch to the playoffs again, or he will get traded to Miami. I guess the Heat must do everything just to have this trade to push through. They've given undrafted players already that have a huge impact towards their success last season, and at the same time they have all the assets that they can give to the Blazers. Of course the Blazers don't want to lose on this trade knowing that they will give their must-be franchise player.
1063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Really Burn helps Token in positive way? on: August 01, 2023, 11:47:20 PM
Lesser supply, more demand = increase in price. The famous basic economic law that scammers are using.

The famous project that's being token burn is Binance who have been doing this for years already until they reach the total supply of I think 100,000,000 coins. Most of the time, I'm hearing this term "token burn" in some meme coins, and shitcoins out there who are using that term just to attract new investors. On the other hand, investors think that if they buy earlier, the supply will slowly decrease thus increase it's price. The problem with this token burn is that, there's no assurance that the demand will stay the same if they lessen the supply. It's kind of useless if you decrease the supply, but the demand is low. For sure price will just go down even more.

This is very different from Binance Coin since it has a huge demand, and with the supply slowly decreasing, the price might increase in the future. As for Shiba Inu, the supply is very huge that a small token burn would have little to no effect towards the price of it. Is it helping them? Price-wise, not so much, but if they will do it in the long term, and the demand stays the same then their might be a difference in price..
1064  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Happy to reach 50 merit on: August 01, 2023, 10:21:48 PM
Earning merit is really hard this days , since there are lots of things they consider for post to be meritable,
~
I know that feeling of having a hard time earning merits because I have experienced that as well.
I don't know if there's a problem with my posts, or I'm posting in sections where merit sources aren't visiting to spread some merits, or whatever reason it is.

There was a time where I'm really having a hard time earning merits, but why focus on merits where it isn't the main feature of this forum? Knowledge, information, learning. These are far more important than merits. What's the importance of merits here? Just to rank up only. You don't need a rank if your main focus is learning. There are some threads where they are sending merits on your good posts like the ones in Beginners & Help section itself.

Well, if you really want to rank up, excel at something. Be good at something, and share it here. If you have opinions, experiences, information that you want to post here then do it. I don't know, but I think that helped me a little bit. I know I didn't start as a member when the merit system implemented (I was full member at that time), so I didn't experience getting 100 merits just to get to Full Member, but I think there's no other option for you OP, but to learn in order to earn merits. Just don't focus on it though because it's like you are earning merits just to join into signature campaign that requires Full Member rank at least.
1065  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers are getting innovative. on: August 01, 2023, 09:58:52 PM
~
Crypto space fast-paced technological innovation to bring simplicity and add more security to human life. So scammers are also finding new ways to scam people. Do not fall for the same kind of trap if you are a moderator in any crypto project. You might lose your server and job as well.
With lots of Discord channels that I am in right now, I've seen this many times already.
As a member of the channel, you will just surprised that a moderator or an admin of that channel will just share some information that isn't normal for an admin to do such as sending links, promoting scams blah blah. The last one that I remember was the Discord channel of Apeswap where the hacker posted a link. Same with Pegaxy, and Axie Infinity as well.

I guess simply ignoring these type of random DM's is the best solution for it. I mean I understand that OP is a community moderator, and there might be some people who are interested in his/her service, but I don't think that the legit ones will just simply send you a DM out of nowhere and telling to apply for their project. Only scammers are doing that. Scammers right now are becoming more, and more clever as technology is evolving in such a rapid pace. I just hope that we all remain vigilant at all times, and always be careful in clicking the links online.
1066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin (DOGE) on: August 01, 2023, 03:17:36 PM
DOGE is a memecoin. Not a bad one but still. Do you really think it can be the cause for the bright crypto future?

DOGE's popularity as a memecoin has brought significant attention to the crypto space and demonstrated the power of community-driven projects. While its future remains uncertain, its journey could contribute to a brighter future for the entire crypto ecosystem by inspiring broader adoption and acceptance of digital assets.
It wasn't DOGE itself that made crypto a bit more popular. Elon Musk did.
What if Elon didn't promote DOGE? Do you think that the popularity of the coin itself, and the whole crypto will increase? Probably yes, but not the same as what Elon did.

DOGE is a meme coin, and not a center of attraction coin where we will depend on it for the brighter future of the whole crypto ecosystem. Inspiring broader adoption, and acceptance of digital assets? Isn't it Bitcoin that must be the one whose on top of that when it comes to that matter, and not DOGE? I mean what's your reason why you are looking at DOGE right now? It's because of Elon? Right now, the hype around meme coins might still be there, but DOGE isn't that popular anymore.

Though I like the coin because it's the first ever meme coin, to see it as the sign of the future of cryptocurrency is a bit overexaggerating if you will ask me. Internet meme phenomenon? Maybe that would fit, but not the future of crypto Cheesy.
1067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 01, 2023, 09:14:09 AM
I am not sure about who will be tanking, but I can easily say that any team that went ahead for a chance to win it all, could always be contending. I am guessing that Lakers will not be terrible, but Nuggets and Heat and Celtics looks to be great and they will probably still be around, obviously we will get Suns who will have a decent team as well, and that's going to end up with something that has a good entertainment for us.
The Pistons will be tanking as well, the Wizards will have an awful season like always, and I expect that the Hornets will be having a terrible season still even though they got Brandon Miller.

Lakers, Nuggets, Heat, Celtics, Suns.
Lakers - I don't expect them to be tanking either so I agree with what you said. I don't expect Lebron to let his team tank knowing that he's in the final years of his basketball career already, so I expect him to play at his best in order to get that title again.
Nuggets - With Bruce Brown getting traded, I expect their defense to go down at least because he's a good defender. The Core is still intact, so I expect the team to play like almost the same as they was last season.
Heat - If Dame will not land on the Heat, I expect nothing from them. Take note that they gave 2 key undrafted players in Vincent, and Struss, so the Heat have nothing right now at least. They need to get Dame to at least be a title contender.
Celtics - With the loss of Smart, and Grant Williams, I expect them to be worse than what they was last season TBH. Unless they will have role players that will be focusing more on the defense, they will be a lot worse now. Take note that the Celtics have been known to be one of the best defensive teams 2 years ago, and that's because of Grant, and Smart.
Suns - Watch out for them. They have Beal already plus they have better role players right now. They are for me one of the favorites next season in winning the title.

Nuggets vs Suns at the west finals, Heat vs Celtics on the east finals, and whoever wins gets to meet at the finals and the winner gets the ring. I believe that's going to be how it is like but of course we can't know for sure right now. Miami getting Dame would make their place more permeant there.
Where's the Warriors?
I mean they already filled up the things that they're lacking last season. They got better role players now, they also have an amazing coach, and take note that they still have the core of Dray, Steph, and Klay. Maybe let's add CP3 in the list as well. I expect them to be a title contender for the next 2 years or even more, and they will be better in the upcoming season compare to last season.
1068  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is AI in crypto a game-changer or just another hype? on: August 01, 2023, 08:37:45 AM

tl;dr

This is just another hype post towards Bitget exchange which is obviously a scam exchange. When you will stop promoting that scam exchange? Or you are getting paid by promoting it in exchange for a negative trust here?

Quote
Re: Is AI in crypto a game-changer or just another hype?
Well to answer this one, I believe that it will just be another hype like in DEX, ICO's, NFT's etc. etc. AI has been hyped for months already, and I've only heard a few projects that is related to AI unlike NFT's back when the hype is on it's peak where you can see new projects, new games, new NFT's everywhere. I don't know if I'm just not updated, but I guess there are only few projects right now that's associated or at least have a connection with AI.

Is AI a crypto changer? It might be, but the question is how will the old, and the new projects integrate AI with their project. I'm not a developer, but it's good to see projects that integrated AI on their product.

Re: Spot trading or future trading which trading is best for beginers?
Trading in general itself is a risky type of investment already especially if you don't have the necessary skills in order to make money from it.

Both the spot, and the futures trading are risky, but Spot is less risky, but less profitable compare to Futures. This is also the reason why people want to trade more on Futures because they can make more money trading on it than Spot, and this is what newbies think as well thus, they are jumping immediately on Futures where in fact, they don't have the knowledge that might help them, and the only thing that's on their mind is profit which is wrong.

Spot trading is the most recommended by many here, but as a newbie, I guess experiencing it first-hand with no money loss thru a demo account might help you. At least at that account, you will not get any loss, but will not get profit as well. You will only experience what you might experience when you are trading in real money. That might help you mentally especially in decision making, but overall, Spot is the most recommended one.
1070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 18, holding my bitcoin and looking forward :) on: July 31, 2023, 10:13:22 PM
~
I am gonna start deciding to sell it at end of 2024 , but I guess i could wait till end of 2025.

Hopefully bitcoin can save me from this crazy inflation and break me out of this financial crisis.
If you guys have any tips , do let me know ... I would be very grateful for it.
It's always good to see young people putting their time, and researching with regards to Bitcoin, or into different types of investments.
People of your age here in our place don't even know what investment is. What they only know is buying their wants, expenses, liabilities, and wait... watching Tiktok videos that only entertains them, and not learning something thru it.

Unfortunately, not all young people are even interested in investing. Anyway, the government can ban the use of crypto in their own country, but there's a thing called VPN, so I guess you can still access it privately. You said you want to sell it at the end of 2024. You're a believer of the 4-year cycle, eh? Cheesy Anyway, that's also my target, or at least when Bitcoin reaches my target selling prices, but I might sell most of my Bitcoins when it reaches $100,000.

Tips? I guess many here already gave some tips to you, but if I'll give one, I guess it will be to keep yourself lowkey because you don't know what might happen to you outside your house especially if you are saying to all people around you that you are holding that amount of Bitcoin. I'm holding way lesser Bitcoins than you have, but I don't want to share it to anybody because it might affect my safety.
1071  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are memecoins tarnishing the image of crypto? on: July 31, 2023, 09:54:11 PM
It's not only meme coins, but any new project has the opportunity to destroy the image of crypto by scamming those investors.

On the other hand, there will always be new investors that will invest into the crypto market, and unfortunately, these are the targets of these scammers. The problem with some investors is that they can easily get attracted with the amount of money that they can get if they invest into that project whether it's a meme coin or not, and not thinking of the possible risks that they can get. They don't care, but what they care is the money.

While I agree that meme coins can tarnish the image of crypto, I still believe that there are still good things that meme coins can give. Just think of how Elon Musk hyped crypto with his DOGE-shill a few years ago. I'm pretty sure because of that, new investors came thus, new money came to flow, and at the same time, the popularity of crypto just went up because we know how influential Elon is. Though many investors lost from that DOGE hype, we know that crypto in general became more popular because of a meme coin that's been hyped.

Overall, meme coins not only tarnish the image of crypto, but at least it also boosts it's popularity in one way or another.
1072  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold coin on: July 31, 2023, 09:54:44 AM
what would you do if you got money?
It depends LOL.
If I need to buy something, I'll use that money. If I need to invest it, I will do it. If I need for emergency purposes. I mean the list goes on, and on, and on. What kind of question is that Cheesy.

which coin do you prefer to hold for long-term or short term and what do you expect from your portfolio?
Bitcoin, and Ethereum.
Both of the coins are good to hold for short term, and long term as well, but better if long term. For short term, I don't think I can recommend one coin that's good to hold for short term unless you're a trader then it would be a different scenario.

I think BTC broke his ATH in the year 2025 and make a new ATH on 100k what is your opinion?
Well, if you follow the 4-year cycle, Bitcoin is expected to break the previous ATH of near $70,000 by 2025 or might be in the last 2024.

$100,000 price per Bitcoin is the one that I'm waiting. I expected that it will happen last bull run, but it failed. Now it has the opportunity to do it. I'm pretty sure many are excited to see Bitcoin's price reaching 6 digits for the first time. I'm also excited on what will be the reaction of those people who are very pessimistic towards Bitcoin, and telling negative things to it like it's a scam, or the like.
1073  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Popular crypto influencer Pauly accused of Millions of Dollars Fraud. on: July 31, 2023, 08:53:19 AM
The chart is the same as Squid Game Token that happened years ago as shared by a post above me.
One word I guess. DAMN!!!!!!!!!. Rug pull Baby. Cheesy

Anyway, this is the main reason why I'm not following any Youtube crypto influencer that has a content of like sharing a new project, sharing the pros, and cons of that project etc. because they don't care about the investors getting scammed. At the same time, we can't blame them if we got scammed because they always say with their videos "Do your own research. This isn't a financial advice blah blah blah." This is their magic word so that they will not be blamed if something bad happens with the project they shilled.

Overall, just stay away from the coins that these influencers are shilling, or maybe just stay away from them completely.
1074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 31, 2023, 08:30:54 AM
Bleach Report; The worst contracts in the NBA.

1)Bradley Beal (4 Years 208 Million Dollars)
2)Ben Simmons(2 Years 78 Million Dollars)
3)Duncan Robinson(3 Years 57.4 Million Dollars)
4)Rudy Gobert(3 Years 131.5 Million Dollars)
5)KAT(5 Years 271 Million Dollars)

I agree with all of them except Duncan Robinson.

I think Ben Simmons has the worst contract. This contract is too much for him. I don't think Ben Simmons will ever get these contracts again.

Bradley Beal as one of the worst contracts? It's just that he's one of the worst teams, and they are making him their franchise player thus, he got that huge money. I think I might disagree with that one. Robinson's contract was almost a total fail as well if only he didn't improve last season. I mean he had some developments at least that helped the team.

Gobert and KAT's contract might be a bad one especially with Gobert, but Simmons contract was the worst one among the 5. Just after a year of having an all-star performance, he went from an all-star caliber to a mediocre player who's afraid to shoot in the paint. After his contract, he might go back to Australia, and will regain his composure there, or he might stay there, and play for their national team for the rest of his basketball career.

Lot of time ahead for the start of the season, but in your head, wich team do you thing its gonna be a contender and wich team its gonna be a tanker in the bottom of the table?

We can say surely San Antonio comes back again to be a contender after a few long years being a tank team.
Spurs? Will be a contender just because they got Wemby? Will not happen.
Take note that he's surrounded by young players. The Spurs right now is like the Thunder last season. A young all-star potential player, but surrounded by young, but talented players.

I also disagree with what you said that the Spurs will be a contender. Take note that a rookie can have monstrous performance for a year, but they can't carry their team all the way to NBA Finals. Remember that David Robinson was drafted in 1987, and only got a title after more than 10 years. I'm not saying that it will happen to Wemby, but the Spurs will not be a championship contender in his first year.

Re: Can you use Bitcoin to pay everything online?
Small transaction, no at this moment because of the high gas fees like you said. Lightning Network is the best solution for it so far, but not many are integrating, or using it currently.

Bitcoin can be used to pay everything online as long as both sides agree to it. The only question is who will pay for the fees especially if the amount of things that you're buying isn't that huge compare to the possible fees that you might be paying when using Bitcoin to pay. There are many online stores, and merchants who are accepting Bitcoin as an alternative payment, but to use it to buy things that has a small value is something that Bitcoin holders wouldn't want to do.
1076  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How is your DCA solution? on: July 30, 2023, 11:17:03 PM
~
I just a little advice where to buy bitcoin with minimal withdrawal such as I buy bitcoin $20 and withdrawal fee $1, it's not heavy for me if the fee is still $1.
P2P or just buy Bitcoin on Decentralized Exchanges. I guess that's the best solution so far.

Using Binance for DCA isn't really a good thing to do IMO especially if you are withdrawing your money there on a monthly basis, and at the same time you are investing a small amount like what you're doing. The fees will just eat your capital, and unless the price of Bitcoin goes up significantly in just a matter of weeks, transaction fees on these Centralized Exchanges really is high.

Well, if you don't want to do any of the 2, I think there's a 3rd option. To limit your withdrawing to at least once every 3 months if you aren't thinking of increasing your capital, or to just increase your money you invest if you really want to withdraw on a monthly basis.
1077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When it's all set and done, do not forget those in need. on: July 30, 2023, 03:59:01 PM
So instead of showing off how successful you have become always remember that you don't get there alone, it happened through the help of others that bought from you.

So try as much as possible to help those that are in need in your surroundings, or help others that are living far away from you, you can do this anonymously too if you think it's not safe, this is the right way to bring back into the community.
People can help other people, but the question is "Are these people who are being helped are helping themselves in order for them to be out of the poverty zone?" The problem with some people is that, they are depending too much on what other people will give to them. Worse is there are some who are depending most of the time to the government, and when they didn't get enough, they will complain like they are the authorities.

There's nothing wrong with helping because I've done it many times already, but the problem is that there are people who don't know how to help themselves. There are people who are just solely relying on what other people will give to them. We are living in a cruel world unfortunately, and sometimes, helping people can give more bad effects than good. Well, it will be a different conversation if there is a community that's been struck by natural calamities. Of course I'll help, but if I will help just for the sake of helping? I'd rather feed other animals than people.

Overall, I'm not against helping others, but don't help too much that will put you in a state where you will be the ones that will be helped in the future either financially or in other ways.
1078  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason why you will never become rich on: July 30, 2023, 03:36:41 PM
And I want to ask you one thing, did you become rich after getting rid of your family? I don't know what family relationship you're talking about,

I think he describing the typical 3rd world family responsibility problem especially on asian country which parents usually passed poverty to his children. Children when they turn on legal age to work usually working just to sustain the parents and never have spare money to start on his own family.

This poverty cycle start when this working son/daughter decided to start his own family while still sustaining his/her parents. This cycle will continue to the new child and so on just because people keep building family even if they are still not financially established.
This has been the problem in our country. Some parents are passing the responsibilities to their children because of the fact that they helped them grow, and paid all of their expenses. I mean for the parents, it's like "It's your time now to help us, and carry the responsibilities because we can't do it anymore.

What's worse is that, there are some parents who can still work, but they are depending too much on their children that they don't want to work anymore. If the family is rich then it's ok, but what if the family is just a typical family type where they need to work on a daily basis just to have food in the table? I really hate this culture TBH, and I guess I can consider myself lucky because we're not a rich family, but my parents aren't like most of the parents out there who are passing the burden to their children, and in fact, my parents already have savings enough to sustain them when they retired.

I will not follow this shitty cycle of ours, and as much as possible I will not depend too much on my future children when I go old. I just remember in a TV show, a contestant who has a baby that's less than a year old saying to him "Grow fast, so that we will not be poor anymore." I mean like WTF!!.

The second reason why you can never become rich is not knowing how to use money. There are several ways money can be use :  spending,  savings,  and investing.  Many of us already know about spending and even when we spend we spend on things that are not really needed but just to impress people who don't care about you.

Buying liabilities,  things that doesn't have value five years from now.  Many save but even when money is saved,  it is done to spend and not to invest and the only way to become rich is to invest and not by savings.  So , invest in assets and not liabilities.
Financial literacy is very low in our country. Many people always spends on some worthless things. There are some who are spending on things that they don't need, but they just want it because they want to brag it to their friends, or it's the pressure from their peers that force them to buy something they don't really need. There are also some who are getting tempted to buy because it's on sale which is very wrong especially if they don't need that thing.

There's nothing wrong in buying liabilities because at some point in our life, we will really buy some of it. The problem for most is that, they are purchasing only liabilities, and they aren't investing. They don't know what's the meaning of assets, and liabilities.
1079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sharing your Bitcoin journey on: July 30, 2023, 02:47:04 PM
1. what sparked your interest in this decentralized digital currency. "BITCOIN"

2.How has your knowledge about Bitcoin evolved since joining Bitcointalk?

3.Do you have any advice for newcomers who are just starting their Bitcoin journey?

4. Are there any memorable experiences or interactions you've had with Bitcoin and Bitcointalk that you'd like to share?

5. How much help do you think Bitcoin has been of help to you since you learnt about it.

1. The ability of an investor to earn from it. I mean for sure, there are some here who are just interested in Bitcoin because of the fact that they can earn from it. I'm one of them, but as I learn Bitcoin more, I realized that it's more than just an asset where you can earn money from it.

2. Sharing what I know here increased my own knowledge because I believe that in order for me to share something here, I need to continuously learn something that's related to Bitcoin, and cryptocurrency in general. Well, I also learned many things since joining here in the forum as well, but aside from that, I also learned outside of the forum thru different videos online.

3. Learn, research, watch, read. Those are just 4 of the things a newcomer must do when they want to start their crypto journey. TBH, I did all 4 of them, but I'm watching more than reading because I'm more of a watch guy than a read guy. I learned more from watching videos, did some research at first, and read various threads here.

4. Memorable experience here in the forum? None I guess because I'm not interacting that much with people here. Yes I reply to some of their opinions, and posts here, but to interact like sharing some personal life etc. I haven't encounter one, and I think it will stay at that. Outside Bitcointalk, I heard many negative things already from the people that I know personally. Things like it will go down to X price, or it will not rise up anymore, or Bitcoin's a scam. Now they're the ones who are crying in different Facebook pages, feeling disappointed on themselves because of wrong beliefs with regards to Bitcoin.

5. Many. Bitcoin is the reason why I'm investing into different assets right now. Bitcoin is like the eye-opener for me into different assets like the Stock Market. Copy trading has gained immense popularity in the crypto industry since its introduction. Bitget, being one of the pioneers in this field, remains one of the largest platforms for copy trading cryptocurrencies. Many consider it an appealing choice for beginners, but is it truly effective for those who are new to trading?
Asking a question, and at the same time, promoting a scam exchange like Bitget. Good Luck with that.

Just to answer your question, it isn't effective especially if you have a small amount of money to be used for copy trading. I've seen some beginners in trading who prefer using the copy trading feature, and in the end they lose money. Well, I'm not saying that all of copy traders are losing money. It's just that, it's for lazy people, and even those experts who these lazy copy traders are copying don't always get profit. Copy trading gained popularity because it's like, you deposit a huge amount, select an expert trader, and copy all of his trades. Doings of a lazy trader.

I remember that this Bitget exchange has been promoted in Youtube by various Crypto influencers already. Well, they don't care if the one that they're promoting ended up as a scam because they only care for the money. As for the OP, you have negative trust already, so I would suggest to stop promoting that scam exchange.
