Lets all pitch in and buy a sovereign Island, declare its official currency as bitcoin. Setup our own exchange there and a data center to host pools. Think of the press that would get Just need to find an Island now Edit : Forget the Island, Bitcoin to the Moon ^^

The nest will actually link to each other using the same wifi network I believe. I have another in the house by my bedroom. So with the phone alerts and link to that one I should be good. Im mostly worried about when I am out of the house.
If you already have nest in the house then yes, defiantly stick with them. If your really paranoid ( no offense meant, I myself have turned mining gear off whilst away for a weekend) there are a few options. If the nest has an auxiliary output you could switch a contactor with it ( if it activates your miners are shut down ) without electricity you will limit the damage. If you really want some form of suppressant perhaps a large bottle of co2 ( ask in your local pub, they have bottles out the back ) and a gas valve coupled with shutting off the electricity may do the trick.

Absolutely will soo... Fire extinguisher, Nest Smoke Detector, remotely operated light switch and IP cmera to look and see inside if I get alerts. Should be good to go. +100 I have little experience with the nest smokies so can't vouch for them (I have been installing smokies for over 10 years and no-one has ever asked for them) however am sure there good, all good quality mains smoke detectors have an option to interlink to each other with an extra wire ( so you can have one in the house that will activate at the same time) There are also some battery models that have a wireless radio link to each other. Like this http://www.sdfirealarms.co.uk/fire-protection/radio-wireless-fire-alarms/battery-only-radiolink-alarms/ei3105rf-radiolink-wireless-optical-9v-smoke-alarm.html, wired link is obviously better but not always practical.

Oh? Do share how!
No, please don't. Water and miners do not mix. I recommended a couple of Brooks smoke detectors (wireless linked) one for shed the other in house. You could mod this to shut off the supply or operate an Halon fire suppressant but sprinkler? I suggest not. Edit : small thought experiment Metal Shed (or other with wet floor) + Electricity + Water + Mad nerd trying to save $$$ of miners on hearing Smoke detector Shocking It will not be metal. I twill be cement board which doesnt burn. It will also be pretty water tight- about as tight as you can get. I have another shed on the opposite side of my yard that was custom build that doesn't leak a tad. I think it will be alright. No worries, my comments where more in respect of those suggesting putting in a wet sprinkler system not the shed itself. I would recommend a co2 extinguisher by the door though.

First official Beef for Bitcoins thread lol
Just Thought it worthy to note that for those in Aus there is http://www.honestbeef.com.au/index.php that excepts Bitcoin. I have not tried them as I think am too far from them for shipping. Packs are 20Kg so make sure you have plenty of freezer space.

Can someone give me advice on design?
1) What kind of line should I have my electrician run off my panel? 2) What PDU to get? 3) Which PSU and how many S1's per PSU and per 120v circuit? 4) What racking to get?
1) 240V, more amps the better, if you are going to go big discuss it with an electrician. Get him to put in a sub board and think of future capacity. 2) will ur internet work if your local exchange has no power? If not its a waste of money, but is probably not cost effective anyway.sorry read pdu as ups do you need a psu (maybe this is a us term am not familiar with as i have read it a few times recently) will normal sockets not be enough? make sure they have an RCD and think of a sub board for protection. 3) If you are handy with a soldering iron and noice is not an issue I would go with modding server supplies, theirs a few threads about them here already, I would recommend 1 per Ant for redundncy as there really cheap anyhow. 4) Any that has enough depth + a bit, mine is a little short. Wire racking will allow better air flow but is conductive so take extra care. Additional If your having new line installed get the electrician to install an isolator near the door, its relatively cheap initially and will provide quick isolation should you have problems. Put a CO2 extinguisher near the door.

Goodluck with your solution when you're not at home. Really You best make sure that shed is bonded to earth and has an Residual Current Device on its supply

but I am sure, he is swimming in the pool full with money. Actually, the one thing we know for sure is that she/they/he are NOT swimming in pools of money. It's all right there on the blockchain. Not a single penny of this person(s) wealth has yet been touched! This means one of two things: 1. They/she/he is waiting for their BTC to be worth FAR more than it currently is before they're willing to touch even a fraction of it. Meaning they anticipate enormous valuation increase within their lifetime. 2. Bitcoin was a gift to the world, and the creator will never touch any of the wealth. The implication being that it was - and always will be - an utterly selfless act.Given just HOW MUCH wealth they have, scenario #1 seems exceedingly unlikely to me. If you have millions in BTC, what's the harm in cashing in a few thousand to buy yourself something nice? Again, NOT ONE PENNY has been touched! Take from that what you will. The conclusion I must draw, as a man of reason, is that the invention of Crypto was a selfless act - a gift to the world just like Newtonian physics (Isaac Newton was paid only in books for that revelation). His true reason was world domination. Once Bitcoin goes mainstream and is worth a $hit load he is gonna come out and buy ur and everyone else's a$$. All Hail Satoshi, Emperor of the Earth

These DDoSers are persistent I'll give them that...
Not really sure what they want to accomplish.
stats seem to be catching up so i guess ur winning, I guess pool to pool wars will be fought, if not now but in the future ?

Was wondering why my stats where all over the place.
This always happens when i add new gear and want to monitor my stats lol.
Stats offline now, for me at least.
Keep up the good fight Wiz

I am not sure we need to start a war with the banksters just yet. If your looking for subject matter I found this an interesting read earlier today from Techcrunch. http://techcrunch.com/2014/03/22/enter-the-blockchain-how-bitcoin-can-turn-the-cloud-inside-out/Just a snippet You see, it’s not that hard to imagine other blockchain-based systems which aren’t currencies and don’t attract as many “colorful personalities.” Suppose you replaced the Internet’s centralized Domain Name System with a blockchain for Internet names (like Namecoin) such that every DNS request included some proof-of-work effort. Or you used any blockchain (including Bitcoin’s) as a notary service. Or you built a new blockchain for crowdfunding. Or you replaced a centralized system which absolutely does need to be scrapped — that horrific barrel of worms known as TLS/SSL Certificate Authorities — with a blockchain-based solution powered at the browser level.

I still think it is a good idea to run your 110v/240v through a hold on contactor, connected to an axillary relay of a smoke detector.
Smoke detector activates - rig powers down.
Maybe I will look into making some kits up. Although its difficult as each persons situation is different.
May also be worth adding an Emergency Stop button at the door of the room to activate that contactor manually.
Edit : These could be done relatively simply with wireless battery smoke detectors ( from memory they cost around $100) and a wireless relay unit attached to a custom contactor box, with 3-4 10A input/outputs. So a basic system would be in the region of $300 - $400 + $100 for each additional detector ( placed anywhere in your home) sounds expensive but if your using detectors that cost less than $70 then you may as well not bother cus there cr$p. These are of the top of my head figures for 240V version ( not aware of suitable products for 110V) if there is interest I will investigate further and make a demo unit with proper costs.
Edit 2 : Maybe a pain in the ass when the kids burn there toast and it shuts ur mining rig down, so dont bank on putting xtra detectors near the kitchen.

I'm using server PSU's. Dell 1570W one's. They power 3 ants... (2 oc'ed and 1 normal freq).... Can get them to work all 3 oc'ed... But it will take me some time... As the PSU has 5 Output pins which have a max of 312W per pin. I would need to connect the 5 pins in order to get the full 1570W out of it..without worrying that I will ruin my PSU. (Happened to some 930W one's I had...I wasn't aware that they had a max W on the output pins).
I didn't think to use Server PSU's. Yes, the price per watt is remarkably cheaper than your typical desktop PSU. Looking at pictures, I can't tell how you would be able to use this. Is there a breakout cable that attaches to the only port I can see? On this forum you'll find loads of different PSU conversions.... Just one example of many: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1750411You'll need to jumper a few pins together... but it's really REALLY easy. Then you can opt for another jumper (of 2 pins) and that will lower the fan speed. The PSU I have....it sounds like a boeing 747 on the runway... so that jumper saves me a load of headache! Installing a couple of 1k resistors will reduce fan speed depending on load. see http://www.raptortechnique.com/12vpower.htmI thought thiers was a little messy thou, so I made up some resistor banks that just plug on.

Any chance we might get AntMiner S1 control via bfgminer and MuM You can already control it (and any other RPC API miner on the network) with MultiMiner. You just need to configure it to allow API access from your IP. From looking through the MultiMiner thread it seems like you already have that working. AFAIK there is also an update for the firmware that makes it work properly with stratum proxies. What features are you looking for that are missing? I do plan to work on native BFGMiner support for the S1 but I'm not sure that will change much for MultiMiner. Can someone point me in the direction of that firmware, am on antMiner_openwrt20140207.bin which is the latest I can find and I get 100% Errors. Thanx

Ok here's what you do since no one else has any better ideas besides killing or kicking out roommate lol !! I've set me up a few grow rooms for "friends" befor .. Buy a 6 inch can fan from your local hydro store . Also get the ducting and cut a hole in the ceiling in the room or closet. Keep the hole so you can put back the drywall if you ever need too. Have the fan pull the hot air from right behind the antminers.. This will solve your problem and the room will become half the temp it used to be ... Good luck ......... A 4 inch one might also work for your purpose and use less power ...
I have a similar problem with heat/wife, I have a 6inch wall fan arriving shortly so I will update on its success after it arrives. If you can get that ducting out ur window it saves on cutting your ceiling pvc ducting is cheap as chips, if you use foil, make sure its secured away from those miners. Personally I would take the mummy route.. but what to do with the kids ?

I use the IBM x3650 to feed TWO overclocked S1s'. Now I have 24 antminers with 12 of those psus'. No issues at all.
I buy each for less than 10$ , and made connections for each of them in less than half an hour.
I will post pictures with details later if you want.
Dont waste your money.
If i could find a good step by step guide, that would be great XD. Also, i plan on running ONLY 3 antminers, not overclocked, if that is relevant. Food for Thought http://www.raptortechnique.com/12vpower.htmMine looks a bit neater than that. I brought the power pins out to a 6 way connector block. Instead of soldering the resistors use some jumper cables ( ripped out of an old desk top). took me about 20 mins to get it up and running. Edit : Here is a good PDF I found that is worth a read, gives info on different models.. krcm.mywebnow.org/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=330.0;attach=1502
