Where are guys whom wanted to take over this coin?

Very busy with real life. Mafort and I have been discussing it, but we both have a lot going on. It won't be real fast. Sorry.

I heard new anonymous solution coming to FUD coin??  Huh Huh Huh

Nice! September or november 5? 2023?

I think the planned release is on February 30th 2015.

I'm new here. The coin is alive? Thankyou!

Very much so. It has been the Journeyman of Cryptos. Never got huge, never goes away, and gets the job done Cheesy
1124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin 500% PoS/PoW hybrid SuperStake on: November 14, 2014, 08:39:41 PM
Ok.  Good to know a reason why.

If anyone's working on the next wallet... a "setstakesplitthreshold" command function like in HYP that auto combines stakes would be outstanding.  And a return of S4C too.

 Grin  Just suggestin...

Noise already put the rpc command in, and I believe he's putting it in the next QT wallet as well. But you can set the threshhold in the conf file now, and it defaults to not split anything smaller than 30 TEK.

Keep 'em comin' Cheesy Trololoh and I are trying to organize a bounty fund to attract some outside developers. So far that's about as far as we've gotten as we both have busy lives and are separated by an ocean Tongue Noise23 has been pretty enthusiastic and very helpful, but he's lead dev on another coin, so we gotta give him better than just enthusiasm. Thundertoe and I, to my direct knowledge, have tipped him. Others have said they would, and this is good. But if we can organize a bounty fund, this can be done in a less ad-hoc manner and perhaps with a more solid road map for things we need, want and can do for TEK.
1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin 500% PoS/PoW hybrid SuperStake on: November 14, 2014, 08:14:58 PM
"proof-of-work" : 206938.57284554
"proof-of-stake" : 0.00349850

Seems like we're having a big change in difficulty again...  And it's been consistently high...

The plan is to get as many people updated to the new client as possible, then set the checkpoint server. Right now, there are a lot of clients running that are prior to the staking problem a few months ago!

People, if you know somebody that ain't on here or not paying attention, please tell them to upgrade to the most recent code! As soon as the majority of connected peers are on 2.1.1 or greater, we can get the checkpoint server started and THAT will stabilize the network.

Meantime, just bear with us. It's being fixed, but it can't be done in one fell swoop, unfortunately.
1126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin 500% PoS/PoW hybrid SuperStake on: November 14, 2014, 04:06:01 PM
Staking engine will not split blocks with amount smaller than this threshold so there is no need to combine blocks manually with coin control anymore.
Can be set to 1010 max. Will add it to gui soon.

Outstanding.

Any hypothesis as to why the chain broke?
Just a nasty bug that never got fixed.
Reason :TEK did not have a dev to do the job.

not entirely true, the need for a checkpoint was known and installed long ago, we were waiting to turn it on for everyone to be upgraded and during that time communication was lost. I had sent msg to have the last checkpoint server turned on and the orphans coincidentally stopped at that time and never thought about it again or checked to even see if it was on until i started getting msgs about orphans again.

i also find your tone insulting to anyone who has deved for this coin for free in any way, your input is non constructive. thanks have a great day.
Thunder it was never my intend to insult you or this project in any way.

I remember from our irc chat that it was clear that you have been keeping this project alive mostly on your own.
Besides from countless hours of hard-work also pouring in a lot of your own cash.
Not to mention that I have some TEK myself and the simple notion that English is not my native English.
So when it comes to my tone, most non-English ppl already are happy if they manage to speak and write some English and have often not really an idea if they used or expressed themselves poorly.
I am no exception. and have my spellings checker active all time whenever I write English.
In line with this try yourself to speak Dutch or any non English language of your choice and you would probably also make mistakes like that.

Anyway to avoid any further "insults" from what might be read from any future posts I will step back as such and will not post any more.
I wish you and every one else who kept this project alive good luck and BIG thanks for doing so.

Best regards

Nah, don't do that. We all get our feathers ruffled from time to time. To your credit, I've been talking with you off and on for some time and was not aware that English is not your mother tongue. So, I apologize for my tone. There are so many people on here who post FUD and nonsense just to see their words in print that it's sometimes difficult to determine the difference. Plus, as you noted, a lot of the denizens of BCT do not speak English as their mother tongue. In most cases that's obvious. When it isn't, it's easy to think "troll".

I'm personally impressed by people that can type English well enough that I think they're a typical complacent sloppy American Tongue When I actually get offended is when I see a page of gibberish and it IS a native speaker.
1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Project Giveaway on: November 14, 2014, 06:48:55 AM
Two days ago on IRC, I started Project Giveaway. Objective: to create a self-sufficient giveaway address to increase the visibility and interest for HYP. Once, the idea came from cycoinminer, who is also the originator of the HyperLoan idea. Hat tip to yoy, cycoinminer!

This is how Project Giveaway will work:
If we reach 50,000 HYP, cycoinminer will give away 25 bunches of 25 HYP every Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday. On Poloniex trollbox, Cryptsy trollbox on anywhere else.
If we reach 100,000 HYP, either the number of giveaways or the amount of them will double. At 200,000 HYP, it wil double again. Beyond this, donations shall better be spent elsewhere, like HyperSanta.

Calculations are as follow:
25 HYP per giveaway, 25 giveaway a day, three days in the week, two weeks (period for staking) = 25*25*3*2 = 3,750
To achieve self-sufficiency (endowment approach), we assume principal must be ten times bigger so 37,500
Finally, the first two weeks, there won't be any stake, so we'll have to provide an extra 7,500
Total is 37,500+7,500 = 45,000 HYP
50K HYP is a round enough number and gives some extra for security.

At the time of writing and after only two days, we already got 47466.179688 HYP (and growing)!
cycoinminer, I believe tomorrow you'll be able to start giveaways Smiley
Polo trollbox, Cryptsy trollbox, reddit, elsewhere... Let the HYP begin... again!

Very nice!

This also is a good program to illustrate the benefits of staking coins vs. proof of work. Both have their merits, but Staking coins are ideal for this sort of thing.

Too bad. He shouldn't have sold it to me.  Cool

ive been mining for like 1 hr on suprnova and havent got a coin yet what is the deal

Im pretty sure they are using SHA-256 D. The algo is SHA-256

I tried throwing power at supernova and couldnt connect. I am on the NOMP pool now.

SHA256 is wrong, it is always SHA256D as in Double.

Suprnova is configured correctly, check your rigs if you cannot connect, my Antminers and MRR are running fine

Explain that to people like me who can't understand all this technical mumbo jumbo. What's the difference?

I clicked the button in the clone software that said sha-256 so it should be sha-256.

I am the real Carson Cloak.

There's only one algo that directly uses SHA-256d, so it will work. Technically, it's is SHA-256 Double, but many miners shorten it to SHA-256 or just SHA.

Don't worry about it too much Cheesy

Thundertoe and I have come to be friends, and I have to say that he's always looking at ways to do things for TEK. But he's one guy, doing the best he can with what he's got. Let's not throw stones, eh?

I am getting orphans too, but right now I do not mind at all. You have fixed the AV alert in the Windows compiled version! Thank you!

I am able to run my TEK wallet for the first time in over 10 weeks. Woo hoo.

Please post a bounty addy when you get a chance.

My TEK address is BrS57oUjVRcEhqEG7jBzLSEFi9s3gVNkd6
Thanks Smiley

TIP THIS DUDE!
We should take this 1 step further.
TEK needs a development fund, once established we can send a decent reward or bounty and not just a tip.
Core activity's only, coding, website etc.
Excluding perks like luxury holidays with sexy mermaids for the management.  Grin

Ppl who donate would end up on a wall of fame, anonymous donations of course no problem.
Staking for charity feature could be used for this, just a fraction of TEK users would already have a healthy impact of that wallet, besides from the obvious 500%.
(If for some reasons TEK project would have to be terminated the TEK coins of the fund are returned/shared amongst the ppl who made donations.)

I like it. You have the time and resources to organize it? I can help, but it will be sporadic.

Apparently he's been working on the TEK wallet without bothering to tell anyone for a while now Cheesy
1133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin 500% PoS/PoW hybrid SuperStake on: November 12, 2014, 11:01:58 PM
New version still orphaning..... Huh
New version is just a first stage to enable checkpointing, it's not supposed to fix orphaning by itself.
Currently we are waiting for majority of TEK peers to upgrade to new version, then master node will be started.

Yeah, he's gonna show me how to do it and help me write an idiots guide, too Cheesy Compiling under Linux is a process, but it's not too difficult. The instructions in Windows are... Babylonian? Make no sense to me at all Tongue

Market is crazy anyone explain wtf is going on?

Bitcoin for one is up 15%.
Counterparty for one is up [/b]100%[/b] WTF EVEN

Those two in particular, but TEK is up 25% today too. What's going on? Some market news I missed in the last hours?

Tek has a checkpointing issue, which is being resolved. Might have spiked some interest from that alone. New wallet out, if any of you are Tek holders and missed it. Noise23 from TRK is assisting us, which is marvelous Cheesy Upgrade to version 2.11 immeditately, please.

Rest of the market, I have no clue. Woke up to BTC on a tear, and I've no idea why.
1135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin 500% PoS/PoW hybrid SuperStake on: November 12, 2014, 05:27:27 PM
I'm one of the guys testing this... All I can say is be patient, guys. Noise23 is very good. He pumped out three test revisions in about two hours last night, two of which you've seen.

As I understand it, we'll all need to update our wallets as quickly as possible, but the current code should NOT have problems from older clients. (Noise23 correct me if I'm wrong). As soon as sufficient numbers of people have upgraded, the checkpoint server will be activated and this should not happen again.

Once we get all this straight, PLEASE tip Noise23.

couple of us are talking about some ideas... don't delete your wallets Cheesy

1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin 500% PoS/PoW hybrid SuperStake on: November 12, 2014, 03:06:18 AM
if we are on right chain, will we need to upgrade? Anyone know what pool messed up?

Thundertoe will be the final arbiter on that, but I believe we will all need to update our wallets. The problem, as I understand it, is that the checkpointing is not working correctly. That's being fixed, right now. Don't know how soon it will be done, but I am one of the guinea pigs, so I'll keep y'all as informed as I am Tongue Unfortunately, the guys doing the work are much smarter than me. They're explaining it to me, but I'm lost.

7* bitmain S3+ units (3.4 TH) with coupons and shipping this week = 4.7 BTC
4* Bitmain C1 (4TH) with watercooling and shipping this week = 5.3 BTC   (4.64 for 3.5TH)

wrong math

1x SP20 price! $795+shipping   1700GH/s
2x C1 price   $800+shipping    2000GH/s

Which one is more GH/s ?

Which one requires extra components not mentioned in the price?

Nice comeback, Bick Tongue

You legitimize the system of control that you say you don't like,

Such is your claim. Now substantiate it.

That's what I did...

Quote
If a group calling itself the mafia told you that you have to choose one gang or another and they held "elections", would you feel that by participating in their sham you are somehow contributing to positive change, just a little bit? The act of participating is what creates the illusion of legitimacy.

You consider that as substantiating your claim? Good thing you're not a lawyer.

Firstly, it is merely an unsupported assertion. Secondly, an 'illusion' says more about the party whom is looking upon the situation than it says about the party being observed.

All you are substantiating here is that your ability to reason has been overridden by your preconceived biases.

I take the same position as btcusury, as you already know, and I have to agree with your assessment. Btcusury, and anyone else debating something of substance, I highly recommend the following site: Logical Fallacies and the Art of Debate . It will sharpen your wit, and help you to avoid obvious fallacies (or at least construct them in such a way as to entrap the unwary, such as strawmen).

What "obvious" logical fallacy or fallacies did I commit?

jbreher recognizes that he is voting for one or another of the "power-mad psychopaths that will lord over us", yet doesn't see how it is that by participating in the "elections" sham these "power-mad psychopaths" and the "news" media create he is contributing to the legitimization of the belief in what he recognizes as "The Most Dangerous Superstition", i.e. the belief in authority. If this logic seems unclear or fallacious to you, I'd suggest you haven't done enough research.

Quote
In the past, I did find references where it had been determined that participating in an elective system binds you to the outcome regardless of whether you agree to it. My time has been severely truncated for the time being, so I cannot make that argument with reference at this time. I'll find my old sources eventually.

However, as my basal argument, I would have to say that by participating in the system, you at least agree that it has utility, and that it's outcome is influenced by your desires. Would you agree thus far?

You seem as confused as jbreher... I mean, "references where it had been determined"? Determined by whom? An "authority" other than yourself? Perhaps these will help:

Voting Is An Act of Violence
Ya Gotta Vote!
Message to the Voting Cattle - Larken Rose

Sorry, it was from earlier in the thread. I have seen court cases where it was determined AS CASE LAW that a vote is binding upon the voter. I said so, which is an unsupported assertion. I'm not confused, I'm without a lot of time. I post on here in between working or while waiting for things to compile. I promised him I'd go more in depth, and I will. But my time is very limited. I'll check your links (Larken Rose has already come up: I'm a fan ) when I get a few minutes.

The logical fallacies link was more aimed at getting you (and several others who have, frankly, hit every mark) to sharpen up their arguments. I use that link whenever I'm constructing a serious argument. I ask myself what an opponent would call me on, and see if I have made an argument that will withstand the accusation.

How come when I combine coins it says it will cost .00001 hyp, I choose OK, but then it charges me .00026 in my trans log?

I've done it three times combining 1-3 blocks and each time my trans says .00026, but it only prompts me for .00001.  Blocks all look OK, no weird change or anything, looks like a bug?  Sorry if this was posted prev.

I *think* you are using an old client that had a bug in it that was fixed here https://github.com/presstab/HyperStake/commit/0aaa9f4100026bdad251fc6b7d79f88c8d4f068e

I would suggest making sure you have the current client of 1.0.7.1

ffs if it still persists let presstab know so he can address your issue.

I'm running 1.06, and it has been doing that. I just assumed it was over the limit, but that was the exact amount that it's been doing for me. I haven't upgraded yet, and I ain't gonna tonight Tongue But it is interesting.
