1201  Economy / Economics / Re: Economists advise caution in trading in Bitcoin currency on: November 26, 2023, 08:43:52 PM

he fears that he may not be able to make money if everyone sells while he bought the BTC at a high price. economist wants the price to be stable like it's a controlled market. so yeah it's understandable that economists are afraid. investors losing money after investing in an asset they think would make them profit is a disaster. but this is if they think about the value in USD but if they think about how much satoshi they hold still, nothing is lost but the value in USD.
1202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Many Bets to Know How Good Enough You Are? on: November 26, 2023, 08:02:10 PM

the ultimate data to see how good you are is if you've made money out of that 60% rate. doubling your money after just 5 bets, i guess that is already good enough.
i see gamblers putting the same amount of money on all 3 bets with odds 1.10 and if two won and one lost, no profits are made.

easy to win when you bet on fave team. in soccer or in football the favorite team doesn't really win all the time, making sports betting actually hard.
1203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 26, 2023, 07:17:16 PM
Guys, I want to discuss or here your thought on how UFC has changed over last 5 years probably. Here are the things that have changed or I dont like:

1) In the past, all divisions have enough fighters or challengers. Now what we have, fighters fight against each other for 3-4 times
2) Or are so dominant in their division, that they move to other
3) A lot of fighters wish to move or try boxing. Mostly because of high payment there and low payment in UFC.
4) Fighters complain about who they fight. They choose who they fight. Previously, if UFC says fighter gonna fight Godzilla, he will fight if Godzilla makes the weight.

5-10 years ago I would even imagine that for example Chuck Liddell would challenge Brock Lesnar and complain that he earns low.

i think in the past there were complains about how low the pay White gives. they are just not very vocal anymore.

they need the cross with others say PFL vs UFC in order for this sport to have something new like unification. BMF title fight has to be cross-promotion so that the baddest in Bellator or PFL can be mandated to fight the BMF in UFC.
1204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy with unusual/strange gambling sites on: November 26, 2023, 06:51:56 PM
It's really careless and how could you be tempted by a gambling site where the gambling platform is not clear.
And here I also can't stop thinking about the tests you carry out to find out whether the gambling site is truly safe, behaves fairly and is responsible for its visitors. How could you test it just by doing this?

to give this a try yesterday because it is a chance-based (online) gambling.
At the level of funding my bet wallet account, I requested to fund with $50 I rethink that $5 would be better as test run in building my trust since it was an unusual/strange bet sites.
I successfully funded my bet wallet, checked on the withdrawal section If there would be an access deny for withdrawal and luckily $5 is the minimum withdrawal rate which I proceeded and was successful. Then I refilled my wallet again and placed my bet.
As the game Kickstarted, I got chances to cash out while the value of my withdrawal fluctuates UPs and DOWNs and I had to place my withdrawal and made a cash out of $6  from a $5  bet.
At this time of a test run and trust level is worthy, I think I can proceed and place a higher amount of bet

Because gambling sites that are fraudulent also have a system and rules to deceive their customers, it is impossible for them to cheat visitors who are playing on their site for the first time and even more so if the visitor only makes a small deposit. And when the visitor gets a small win, it will definitely be given because this amount can still be borne by the gambling party and the other aim is to create a sense of trust in the visitor towards the gambling site... so that the visitor will give the impression that the gambling platform is indeed safe and can behave. fair. However, when the visitor has made a high deposit or the visitor gets a high win, then that is where the fraudulent gambling platform will act by blocking the user's account.

So this is where we need to be careful in choosing and sorting out the gambling sites that we will visit, assuming that the gambling sites that you encounter are quite foreign to your ears, then that alone should be enough of a warning so that you don't visit those gambling sites.

there are many of them with the minimum amount to withdraw but i would rather be betting on a platform known to the users in this forum than somewhere new regardless of how small the amount is than regretting i can't withdraw them anymore.

let's say you win big in that platform and they suddenly say you are to submit KYC and then invalidate your documents. that would be another case where you just exposed yourself to a platform.

1205  Economy / Economics / Re: You are the product. Corporations spying on us deeper than we thought? on: November 26, 2023, 05:12:06 PM
i'm not sure if they are only listening. i noticed that even the things i was thinking. not even say a word about something that i was thinking yet the ads appeared as if they knew what i was thinking. believe it or not. it's happening!   stop memorizing your seed phrase!  Grin

really crazy i was just thinking of buying a saw that i will cut the branches that overshadow the house roof. so i was looking at the branches and when i got inside to once again check my Facebook, the ads about this kind of saw appeared.
1206  Economy / Economics / Re: strange indicators to know economy is bad on: November 26, 2023, 05:00:21 PM
The number of overqualified job applications, in Turkish lands for example where the country has been in a perpetual state of high unemployment and high inflation since the last 20 years,

10,000 college graduates will apply to even the most basic jobs with minimum wage or just marginally above minimal wage;

also most of these people are not doing the jobs they studied for in college, teachers becoming police officers, public administration graduates becoming cleaning staff, etc.

It's also what is happening in my country. there are hundreds to thousands of nurse/engineering graduates only to find themselves working for BPO companies. it must be for the reason they won't be idled. parents must have accepted this already and find nothing wrong with being under-employed when there are just a few companies in our country. these graduates are hired more in the Middle East though. there is no recession in that region, the oil kept the economy alive.

underemployment is another indicator. they would rather just fill the vacant position despite skills not fitting the job description.
1207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can money be saved in gambling sites? on: November 25, 2023, 09:40:25 PM
Physical and online wallet founders/makers will be laugh after reading this thread lol, most of the comments on this thread are correct.
Gambling site is the place for us to gamble not saving nor hiding our precious crypto, if I have to choose where to hiding the crypto from my wife then I will choose a trusted exchange than a casino.
Even if we are not a gambler, our degen soul inside might not able to resist the temptation to place bets with those balance.

Also dont forget about the tax, crypto gambling tax is not cheap on certain countries. So it might work for you and some people but not for all.
Well, the bigger the money is - the more we care about the security of our precious.

By the way, if we keep on mind that both gaming platforms and exchanges are centralized and custodial services, some people may argue there is no much difference between keeping one's funds in a casino or an exchange. In either case we do not have a complete control over our money.

Also, I know exactly what you mean when you talk about someone feeling the temptation to gamble money they are not supposed to. It is something which is common to happen, specially to people of this forum who receive campaign payments directly to their casino accounts. I have read about unlucky users lossing their payment completely because the urge you talk about.

i still have some funds in sportsbet for a while already. i was just looking for a match in sports that is worth betting so it's been there like stored for several months already i say i fought the temptation but maybe because i'm more off into sports than chasing my luck with casino games. the ones with the urge and store their coins are likely going to push the button especially when they think the luck is with them that very day.

still storing in casino is worse than one could decide, its not even meant for storing but because there's a wallet, its somehow convenient ffor gamblers.
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any advice for invest my first 600$ in altcoins? on: November 25, 2023, 09:07:16 PM

this is a long thread already and was created months ago. if he still has those altcoins that are so much unknown he would have sold them already but if not then it's best to just have it in BTC for it has a lot of chance of going up than remain as is.

it's a wonder how he even heard of these tokens and decided to buy them. but once the BTC goes sideways, altcoins like these are the first to take a nose dive.
1209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I still hold the investment or sell it? on: November 25, 2023, 08:54:30 PM
When the price of Bitcoin reached $38K I thought I would sell my investment but I didn't sell my investment yet hoping for something better. Thinking whether to sell the investment or not I thought I should share the matter in the forum and I will get the best solution from the forum that's why I am sharing the matter in the forum whether I should hold on to my investment or sell it now.
I don't need the money anyway, if I sell my investment now I have to deposit this money in the bank again.

If you are having such thought in your mind at this stage where you’ve barely has enough profit in comparison to what is forecasted to happen in the future, you are not someone that can handle emotions or handle the volatility of the market without having a sense of fear in mind about it.

If you will ask everyone in this forum who are bitcoin lovers, bitcoin investors or bitcoin traders, no one will give you the impression or urge to sell now because they know that what we are aiming at is far from what you’ve profited since you invested in the bitcoin.

You just have to change your mindset, trust bitcoin and have a long time investment that will be profitable for your investment when you decide to withdraw your money invested back. Profit is profit but when you are so sure that you can still earn more profit from an investment, you just have to be patient to achieve that for yourself.

he had waited this far already, a little more waiting wouldn't be so bad especially because there is something to expect like having and ETF approval. right?

he said it himself too that he doesn't really need the money so it's good to just let the $150 be in the form of BTC. since it will have a chance of going up than just $150. it could also go in the opposite direction but a small drop to $130, wouldn't matter when you enjoy learning how BTC works.

1210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: November 25, 2023, 08:10:44 PM
A lonely person is called so because they lack any form of companionship and it might be because they don't know how to make friends or people just avoid them for their personality traits.
In anyways, a lonely person who has had time to spend on their phone and therefore sees how possible to earn some winnings from gambling online will do so as often as possible because it is thrilling and no one would bother them.

Of course, the easiest people to get addicted to gambling are those who are the most lonely and have the means to engage in gambling at any moments call.

if they have the means to gamble and have the least option on what to do in their free time. Most idle minds are the ones with no good ideas which sometimes include getting high to cure boredom and then if not satisfied they resort to more satisfying entertainment.

in my country,  the authority in gaming corporation have the ads containing the advice saying "If you are lonely, don't gamble." i think this is a common cause of bankruptcy to lonely people.
1211  Economy / Economics / Re: strange indicators to know economy is bad on: November 25, 2023, 08:00:37 PM
Number 7's a little misleading, if you're a man, regardless of if you're the richest bloke in town or the town laughingstock, you'd only buy underwears WHEN YOU REALLY REALLY NEED IT, and I mean when the holes in the front couldn't cover your dingdong anymore lol. Kiddings aside, I've got a few strange indicators as well.

Jobs offering new and lucrative ways to attract people into their company. I've seen a lot of BPOs in the Philippines offer stupid "incentives" for getting hired in their company, some give gift baskets that you could easily buy for like 10 bucks outside, and Gift Checks for shopping as well as digital cash that you can spend. The more creative a company is when it comes to offering rewards and incentives to new hires, the more shitty the economy is going is the standard.

thats why i often heard these telemarketers move from one BPO company to another in less than a month just constantly receiving these gift baskets. i don't know if they were doing it but it looks easy to just attend the job interview, pass the exam, be hired the same day to receive the gift basket, and then be AWOL the next day because of attending another job interview.

but the mass layoffs also is just one indicator that is happening to even the most successful company.
1212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is exchange based tokens worth for hold? on: November 25, 2023, 07:48:16 PM
I don't think that they are worth holding. They are totally related to an exchange, and if something happens to it - the token will die too. This might happen even in calm times or during the bull run, you never know what's happening behind the doors.
All of exchanges coins aren’t bad, as like BNB is the backed of the number one crypto exchange Binance. So, it’s fundamentally strong coin, early investors got big profits if considering others exchanges coins. Still i think it can be worth investment, although recently a bad news coming so it’s started dumping but i think it’s a promising coin for the future.
the exchange still remains a large monopolist, and this may mean that nothing threatens the exchange token in the near future. Quarterly token burns will do their job, we need to wait a little longer and see how the price reacts to this event.

BNB however is just not performing well this year. i was also holding some exchange tokens before the last bull market, these tokens are just going to drain your patience. your faith in holding these tokens relies on the exchange itself which they know who they want to make rich. OK exchange token did a significant move than BNB.

the advantage to big holders of these exchange tokens is that they are sharing revenue with them.
1213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you guys think about light coin/lightning? on: November 25, 2023, 01:14:27 PM
With this explanation, I think you have cleared my curiousity on lightning and light coin. I really appreciate your efforts

You're welcome mate, it's not unusual for someone not to know certain things, if you don't know, ask. That will help you understand better and also refresh the mind for the person being asked, LOL.

This is my first time hearing about Lightning coin, OP make me search about Lightning Bitcoin Coin, and it actually exist, https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/lightning-bitcoin/, I don't know if that is the coin that OP is referring to, but I don't think those Lightning Bitcoin coin is in anyways related to the Bitcoin Lightning Network. The site is in chinese, https://lbtc.io/EN/about.html so

OP refers to $LIGHT according to the link he attached to this response. I've also explained a little about the confusion he experienced regarding Lightning (LIGHT) and its differences with the Lightning Network a.k.a LN.

@Samlucky O, If you feel that all your questions have been answered correctly, don't forget to lock the topic you created so it won't cause prolonged spam Smiley.

if it weren't for this post, everybody would probably still respond about LTC having LN.

LBTC seems a different network from BTC so i don't think it can affect the congestion in BTC. surprisingly the price of this LBTC was once $500 but it dive deep to $0.28. it must be a fork and everyone who got some free LBTC sold back in 2018.
1214  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your big plans for the Bitcoin halving coming up in a few months? on: November 24, 2023, 08:20:12 PM

just keeping my coins and altcoins til the time is right for the picking. this time i will not gonna miss the big event. for a few months majority i think will wait patiently for the prices to hit the moon.

the cycle is just as what they always do. i think traders will also just sell and then wait again for another 4 year cycle. this is what is going to be happening over and over but different obstacles from regulations and another kind of adoption per cycle..
1215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something you don't have to forget on: November 24, 2023, 08:12:45 PM
At the beginning, when Bitcoin was too cheap and wasn't popular, investors weren't very serious with their wallets. Hence, they forgot about their wallet, and when they noticed the current position of Bitcoin, they woke up. But unfortunately, a few of them totally forgot about their wallet credentials. I have seen many cases where people can't remember the apps or wallet names where they stored their bitcoin. But time has changed now, and we are very careful with our wallet credentials. Because the Bitcoin price is too high now and is still growing. So we must take care of our wallets to avoid big losses that we can't afford right now.

as early as 2015 there were already scams and casinos and exchanges that also shut down all of a sudden and many of those early believers lost their coins. because the value is just not so big, they were just giving away coins.

i wasn't here it yet but i have read people were joining faucets which giveaway 5 BTC each time. if they only knew the price could go as high as $69K, they wouldn't be doing it. 1 BTC today is already one man's life savings.
1216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how to advertise a crypto project? on: November 24, 2023, 07:23:17 PM

my first impression was that the domain is a media broker. it's a team providing package services that include shilling!

services like this seem like adoption has come. in the past, only the bounty managers were the ones making proposals for the project, and bounty hunters get to have a share of the bounties. but now it seems like these service provider is not sharing it with the bounty hunters.
1217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most gamblers do not believe they can consistently make money, that's why... on: November 24, 2023, 06:23:26 PM

i don't know if there are also gamblers who consistently make money but i think there are also gamblers who kept winning where about 70-80% of their bets have won. and it could mean that his loss can just be ignored and he makes money still.

they may not consistently win but they consistently make money there's the difference i guess that's what OP means.  meaning they could someday lose money but they always win it back and profit at the same time.
1218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin (DOGE) on: November 24, 2023, 05:19:31 PM

Doge to the moon!
Doge is historical. ever heard of that netflix director who blew all the funds and then YOLO on doge?

here's his story where he invested all the money that's left which is $4M and after the bull run, he shorted and turned the $4M to $27M. that dogecoin millionaire is nothing compared to what this guy did.

1219  Economy / Economics / Re: strange indicators to know economy is bad on: November 24, 2023, 04:55:34 PM
~~~
In some moments you are wrong. For example, that parents will tolerate a full diaper for a child if hard times come. Children are the most important thing we have, and even if everything is five times worse, then good parents will give the last thing they have just to make their child feel good and comfortable. Any parent knows this, and everyone who has children agrees with me.
A sufficient indicator of the poor situation in the economy is the rise in prices. This has always been and will always be, and this is enough to understand everything.
what about this. parents send their kids to their grandparents in order for them to attend 2 jobs so they could meet ends. grandparents neglect the kid's diaper. they run around the house while wet poop dripping. Grin
another strange indicator is the crocodile farm index, these farms are shutting down during an economic crash for there are no orders for crocodile skins for bags and shoes. these farms let go of their crocs to the California rivers too.
1220  Economy / Economics / Re: Usdt tether buying btc the USDT might decouple of real USD on: November 24, 2023, 04:32:29 PM
it's like USD backed by BTC. makes sense just as they backed USD with gold back in Brettonwoods. The US government has more than 200K BTC and they could buy more from coinbase after all Blackrock is already an investor in that company so they could back the USD with BTC.
that would be an interesting development, i have heard of this before i think from Raoul Pal who said BTC was created after the 2008 collapse. BTC is meant for this.
