1201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance reaches deal to pay $4.3B settlement to American regulators on: November 23, 2023, 05:26:00 AM
Well we knew SBF was a criminal as soon as his claimed bankruptcy last November. But nobody would of expected CZ to actually be charged with all this.

His exchange was actually fairly honest and never scammed or defrauded individuals. This is why it was a shock to many and many are saying is was blackrock that claimed this needs to happen for the bitcoin etf to get approved. Binance just was way too big and they want the market share to separate.
He's still probably violated the AML policies so he should still be accountable. If Blackrock really is behind this and saying that it's necessary then that spells doom for us because that means that they are planning to dominate the cryptocurrency market and it does make sense that they are going to do it because they're almost getting approved for the bitcoin spot right? The least if not the best that they can do is to cripple the competition or at least slow down their growth even just a little.
1202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Javier Milei just won the presidentiial election in Argentina on: November 23, 2023, 04:23:49 AM
~

Argentina is a presidential republic so yes they have senators

bitcoin can help in improving one’s economic status but as a whole bitcoin can help open up transactions from country to country in a more convenient and less hassle way this might also be a good news for the btc community as Argentina has one of the largest population in south america just behind Colombia and Brazil

for now he plans on utilizing the usd as their currency and still no plans regarding btc time can only tell if he makes true to his promises
I guess so, I know that bitcoin is really helping bridge people's finances so I am definitely all for it that they are supporting if they do support it. Also, I have to point out that we also have to worry about if the president has a lot of allies in the senate because that way, if he has something that he wants be a policy then it's not going to meet a lot of resistance. That utilization of USD as a currency is a good move for the country, their record breaking inflation is a big problem.
1203  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Paraan para umunlad ang Buhay pinansyal on: November 23, 2023, 03:42:01 AM
A must ang pagiging disiplinado sa lahat ng bagay, personal life, work like, business life, lahat. Plan ahead of time, maging selected sa circle of friends dahil nakaka affect din yan kung gusto nating umunlad financially.
1204  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Binance CEO CZ bumaba sa pwesto, at nagkipagsettle on: November 23, 2023, 02:54:43 AM

1205  Economy / Economics / Re: when the rich say 'ill give 95% of my billion away over my lifetime' explained on: November 22, 2023, 09:10:58 AM
Most rich people make a lot of promises that, in the end, always fall short of the truth. There is also the saying "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer." This saying is also true.

There are also many rich people who say that they will help with the events, but in reality, it is also true that those promises are not fulfilled. It's rare that I see billionaires who always help those in need, especially during times of calamity. Only a few people know whether it is the rich who really care about the poor or the so-called philanthropists.
Don't be too surprised most of them doing this humanitarian pledge don't do this out of the goodness of their hearts, charity money is a way for them to not pay their taxes hell there's probably even more evil billionaires or rich people out there that's using charity as a way to funnel themselves laundered money so they don't have to pay any taxes that could've helped the people of the country much more since taxes are useful in terms of social welfare programs. Can't really do anything about them doing this, unless the working class is fed up with all the suffering then right now, there's nothing that we can do about it.
1206  Economy / Economics / Re: You are the product. Corporations spying on us deeper than we thought? on: November 22, 2023, 08:40:53 AM
Dude, you're years too late about this stuff, Snowden leaked that NSA is listening to our phone calls and this didn't stopped the US government from continuing that program so who knows how powerful their surveillance system now is? Pretty sure that they're much more powerful now and more sneakier than ever. It should never come as a surprise to everyone that our government is spying on us so the best thing that we can do is just scream expletives about them because they can hear us anyway, might as well let them hear what we feel about them listening to us right?
1207  Economy / Economics / Re: #HODLing is not a smooth journey on: November 22, 2023, 08:13:15 AM
Well, if you're guarding your bitcoins 24/7 then it's going to be a rough journey for you because any movement that will happen to the bitcoin is going to test your emotions and the movement is constant and will happen a lot of times. If you really believe in bitcoin then it's a smooth journey for you because you know that at the end of the day, bitcoin will be growing even if the bear season comes and that your waiting for bitcoin to grow will always be worth it. Trusting the process will make your so-called HODLing journey much smoother than you expect it to be.
1208  Economy / Goods / Re: bitcoin on: November 22, 2023, 07:36:36 AM
I am guessing it was a joke ? I think it was Internet humor at its worst or at least a mediocre attempt to be funny.
It definitely is a joke but it's one of those jokes that someone hopes someone is stupid enough to get behind it. You know those funny GoFundMe projects that's goofy and supposed to be funny but still got funding because it was a meme gold mine? That's like this one too. The best thing to do here is stop trying to think it's a serious stuff and it's just a joke.

I don't know if I can join the raffle, haven't bought anything from you but you don't clearly not allow others to participate so here's to hoping I can get that spot, thanks!

I am not a big fan of the card design but I definitely am a fan of the quote. I don't feel like the forum's color scheme is the right aesthetic for me when it comes to cards like this one, most credit cards or similar cards have a deep pastel color so either I got used to that and I can't get behind with the design or I just don't like it. Hopefully there's an option of the dark mode color scheme, that can work for me too.
1211  Economy / Exchanges / Re: SEC Sues Kraken crypto exchange on: November 22, 2023, 06:17:26 AM
What the hell SEC is doing and alleging exchanges one by one for false lawsuit. First Ripple, then Binance, Coinbase and now Kraken exchange. SEC are doing their best to  produce trouble for crypto exchange. If this action continues, I think many exchange will he wind up like Bittrex and Hotbit. SEC has no strong argument against Kraken exchange. According to Kraken , SEC only argued that kraken is holding large customer amount which has no audit and not registere d with their agency. I like the kraken reply that SEC cannot allege exchange for fraud, hacking or revealing customers information. Source

What will be next step of SEC, will Carry ask for 4 billion here also and this 4 billion will solve all problem?
The US government probably wants their cut of the profit in these exchanges, look at what Binance has to pay to stop the criminal investigations and have CZ stepping down. The next step for SEC is probably the same thing that they'll do with other exchanges, making more easy money for themselves. I can see the reason of suing, I mean it's shady that there's no audits happening but then the counter argument of protecting customer data is a big deal too, I guess they need to reach a compromise regarding this issue because this can't always happen, the customers are the ones that's going to suffer big time.
1212  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has resigned as Binance CEO. on: November 22, 2023, 04:45:58 AM
What was exactly did they violate and what's the full story on the violation? I want to read more about this, pretty crazy to think that even Binance isn't as indomitable as it is when the US government is on its toes. $4 billion is a pretty big number but I am sure that Binance would probably take that loss headstrong, they're the biggest global market after all. I just that this is definitely the end of investigation and I hope that Binance will do something about this to prevent it from happening again. CZ now got all the time in the world to enjoy retirement, I just hope he doesn't end up like other big names who talk loudly about stuff after stepping down from a higher position.
1213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk forum a home of solution on: November 22, 2023, 04:17:27 AM
Yeah this forum has answers to all the questions, also helps with suggestions and recommendations let it be for investment or selling or even using a particular exchange for trading you will get experts opinion on any crypto associated topics except the one which are beyond our control like product asks, compatibility issues as mentioned by an user name _act_ in the above response. The thing I like the most about this forum is the fact it has helped so many people from investing into scam projects as well as bot infested exchanges. This forum is a boon to us and all the crypto enthusiasts and I wish people continue to contribute their knowledge with each there so we become a strong close knitted Crypto community.
That's a far fetch thing for the forum to claim, not all answers are here. That would mean that if I ask someone here to recommend me a commander deck in Magic the Gathering, there's not going to be a lot of people that will be able to answer that question although there's people that will pretend they know MTG and help or pretend to help by copying what other deck has been recommended on other websites. My point is not all can be answered here and even the bitcoin or crypto related questions here aren't answered although a lot still try. We need to stop exaggerating what this forum can do and be careful with our use of words that indicate absolute values. Definitely a boon and you should've properly worded that helping part because the flow sounded like this forum helped a lot of people in investing into scam projects.
1214  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merit] Share your best posts/threads with Fillippone to be merit assessed on: November 21, 2023, 08:10:56 AM
Hey @fillippone,

first of all I want to make sure that I read ur rules and saw that the limit of received merits to participate here is @ 1000 merits.
My thought is to help you distribute the merits evenly across the board. You also cant see every good post and give it merit.

@LoyceV has also already complained that he has a pile of sMerits and would like to distribute them among good posts!
Since I'm unfortunately not a merit-source and am almost always out of merit, I would also like to submit a few contributions like I did to Loyce. I would limit myself to really helpful posts, because I don't want to receive them simply as a "gift".
The posts would most likely violate another rule: most have already received more than two merits.

Before I mark the posts here, I would like to know what you think of this idea?
Good idea and if you want to help even more, you could probably do good by helping @fillippone do the reviews for the post or something like that in this thread, you know like quality checker to help with the increase of people submitting posts for merits. I don't mean you will choose who gets the merits but like you recommend what @fillippone will or have to check out first.
1215  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Huge Amount of BTC on: November 21, 2023, 07:29:46 AM
If this story of yours is real and you still HODL 200BTC which is almost 7 Million dollars, congratulations. About selling them, it will be hard to cash it out. The risk with private deals (over the Internet) is so big and I think the only option you have is to go slow with it. Take your time. Do not try to rush with such a big amount, there will be so many scammers around to get you indulge in a deal with them.
If OP isn't going to give any kind of proof, I don't think we should take this inquiry seriously. And the way that OP wants to sell is kind of fishy, that discount is just something in my opinion. With my doubts and thoughts about the post out of the way, this is probably the best thing but we should say how slow that move should be, 1 bitcoin per day slow might not be ideal but I think OP would probably profit more if they try to sell it in different ways.
1216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 9 Years Before He finally claim his lotto rewards on: November 21, 2023, 06:45:05 AM
My questions are :
Do you think it's worth the wait, he's getting 6% interest per annum but he still has to pay a lot of money and suffers a lot even to the point of having a rift with his daughter
Will you do the same thing and fight for your rights to claim the prize
Without the rift with his daughter, what he did was definitely worth it because you deserve the win and it's already proven that you've won the money fair and square and it's not like the expenses will make a big dent to his lottery winnings because that kind of money in the Philippines is already a lot and saying it's not worth to fight for makes all of the effort of fighting worthless and a waste of time, hopefully he can mend his relationship with his daughter, I am sure that all will end well for this man, 9 years of legal battle for what's rightfully for him is definitely a big thing.

Sincerely, I did be lying if i say that i am not surprised by what you said, first time i am coming across someone like you, you don't want to work, and you don't want to own a business, then what exactly do you do for a living?
You're blowing this way out of proportion because I just said I don't want to work in my business or even owning one because it's tedious, can you really not believe that there's a person out that doesn't have the aspiration to be an entrepreneur? You're in for a surprise then and you should learn not to have the expectations that everyone's the same as you.
~
For i know that, just investing in cryptocurrencies can't give one the immediate money for day-to-day expenditures.
Trading as well does bring in good profit and money if the trader knows what he or she is doing, but like you said, you just want to have your free time, trading from my personal experience is one of the most time-consuming activities that anyone can engage in, so this is probably not for people like you.

How about gambling? There is no consistent winning in gambling; gambling is not something someone can depend on, as there will be times when you will need money so urgently, and you can't get it through gambling, in fact, that may be the time you even end up losing the most.

So, if someone just wanna have free time all day, how will such a person become a big person in life, if you don't want to work, and you don't want to own a business, what then do you want to do? and something you don't even understand is that, aside the heavy competition at the moment, owning a gambling casino is one of the most lucrative business anybody can build for him or herself.
No I am not reliant on my crypto investments or anything like that, I have a work that I love because of the hours and the free time that I get is just that fine for me, you guys never know what contentment is so you can't fathom that there's a person that can live like this. I am not gambling that much my guy, again, you're comparing me to yourself as if you're the model citizen for everyone to follow. To make things clear for you, I am a salaryman, I enjoy my free time and I am content with all I have right now and if things improve then so be it but right now, no aspirations to be a business owner.
1218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: November 21, 2023, 05:15:42 AM
~
Essentially, it's not a bad idea if the person has already withdrawn enough money to cover the initial bankroll that he already had and is now gambling with pure profits, and even if that is lost, he doesn't lose anything from their budget and if they manage to win some more, he can start adding to his bankroll from the winnings so that he can have some profits left at the end of the week or month when their budget cycle ends, and then they can enjoy the profits and then renew their budget again.

One can also use the winnings as their budget for the next period and save the money that they usually use for their budget or use it for something else. In general, there are a lot of things one can do after winning a significant amount but only if they are thoughtful enough to think about all these things.
Sure they didn't lose anything but I would say that they're doing much better if they spend that win on different stuff like food, new clothes, probably a new designer bag or even addition to their investments assuming that they are investing in something and as you've said they can cover that money for the next bankroll budget but what's the point of the reward if you're going to just put it into gambling again? No way that's the most logical thing to do so I stand by what I said that playing that win until you've gone back to the original bankroll is a stupid mistake.
1219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: November 21, 2023, 04:52:18 AM

Loneliness will make a person seek someone to talk to and do something fun and choosing gambling to entertain oneself is probably the easiest. For men, I think this is not what necessarily happens since men could always go to the bar and talk to the barman or someone else.

But for women, it could be. Women socializing with someone new could end up in something else like an affair but a woman just in the slot machine is more fun.
To me, I feel like loneliness leading to gambling doesn't have that much difference, most of them just want to feel some sort of excitement and self-destruction, and gambling is the perfect way for someone to do both of that for the price of one. When you are lonely or having bouts of depression, you are subconsciously seeking out fun or any stimulation because you don't feel like having any interest in anything but at the same time you don't feel like doing too much effort to gain fun and so you go to the most convenient way to get those short-term happiness and stimulation which is gambling. Loneliness isn't a bad thing, it's part of being a human so to anyone that's feeling that I hope that you get better and take your time getting out of that pit.
1220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop the self entitlement claims on others gamblers winnings. on: November 21, 2023, 04:00:52 AM
That's just straight up bitter jealousy in my book, I refuse to believe that there's a person that really thinks like that in real life because that's the most stupid thing to say, hell most of the entitled individuals are pretty stupid as if they deserve being able to receive that kind of stuff in the first place, whenever I see that kind of stuff to someone I know, I instantly lose respect for them because they don't have any gratitude in their body even their parents, I lose respect because no way that's not something learned outside the home. People should stop the culture of giving back in my opinion so people like this doesn't have any backbone to say stupid stuff like being given more.
