1401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 02, 2023, 03:11:43 AM
[snip]
I think it will still be the style of Fulton vs the power of the Monster. Their skills sets might be equal at this stage. But the power will be at Inoue as we have seen that he has that knockout power. And for sure Fulton knows this one and going to try to avoid it as possible without getting hit.
That is an interesting matchup between Stephen Fulton and Naoya Inoue. As you mentioned, Fulton's style and Inoue's power will likely play a big role in the fight. While their skill sets may be relatively equal --but for me, Inoue's knockout power is certainly something to watch out for. I have this doubt and I don't think if you notice this too, Fulton will likely try to avoid getting hit by Inoue's power punches while using his own technical skills and footwork to try and outmaneuver him. It will be a test of Fulton's defensive abilities as well as his ability to counter Inoue's power with his own shots --it is worth noting that Fulton has shown his own punching power in his recent fights, so he should not be underestimated in this regard
Great observation, Fulton's counter is very crucial here. We all know that Inoue's power punches can bring him down, but with good anticipations and with proper training to prepare against a monster will be noticed here.

Fulton's acceptance to defend his belt is something that fans will love from him, if he will beat Inoue here
respect and more recognitions will be rewarded to this champ.
Inoue though has face one of the best counter puncher in Donaire in their first fight and yes, it was very close and Donaire doing some damage on Inoue. So I guess Inoue see the best counters already, although Fulton might be different as he can't be compare to Donaire's counter punching.

But still though, experience wise, Inoue should be all set to fight Fulton as whether what style will Stephen comes out in this fight.

And in the end, Inoue's boxing skills and his tools might be too much for Fulton to handle.
1402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 02, 2023, 02:20:26 AM
Durant and the Suns are hot, they lead double digits now in the second quarter and Durant looks flawless with 12 points already. Probably he just excited to play again and the Suns are giving him that much time.

Probably easy 20+ points game for him and most likely a blow out as everyone as expected as they are the favorite in this game.

edit: 40-26 is the score.

I'm bummed I can't watch the game but it's nice to see the Suns on top and Durant seemingly playing well.  Booker is still the one leading the team in shots, but I don't expect that to be the case forever.  Durant shooting 2/3 from 3 point and 6/9 from the field currently is a good sign that he's back to feeling like his old self from the injury.  Chris Paul doesn't seem to be doing all that much looking at the stat sheet but I guess it doesn't matter if they're winning.  It looks like Booker, Ayton, and Durant might all end the game with 20+ points.  I suspect they'll be a pretty hard team to beat when that happens.
Yes, easy 23 points for Durant, same here, just watch till the second quarter and it seems it was a blow up game for the Suns. And as just what they say, welcome to Phoenix.

Booker game high 37 points and Ayton adding 16/16.

So good first game for Durant and the expectation for the Suns is still there, the hype I mean.
1403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 02, 2023, 01:09:28 AM
Here we go boys, it's official now,

https://twitter.com/Gervontaa/status/1629214312949751808

And several media outlets are also reporting it, so its' going to be April 22. Everyone is right though, maybe the biggest stumbling block is the court case of Tank Davis, sentencing is May 5 so after this fight, then he has another one in court.

Nevertheless his legal team are going to handle that so there should be no distractions for him and Garcia as well to make this fight happen on April. For sure everyone now is very excited that finally, we have a date and just waiting for what venue it is in Las Vegas.

So the match is definitely happening then? Why can't they ever just say it straight without expressing the ego driven need to make it seem like its still not been decided upon. The cryptic messages on social media posts do become quite annoying after a while. The marketing team seems to be having fun with keeping everyone on edge and listening for anything that might be considered a final decision. But then again, I guess it is working. The fans were obviously jonesing for the details.

Lets see how this plays out.
Boxing now is business, and so there is the ego of most boxers as well, it's a combat sports so what do you expect for this fighters? Specially in an era wherein we are in the social media and so boxers like Ryan loves to express themselves out and let everyone know through their official social media accounts.

But what's important is that they have hurdled everything including the rematch clause.

So yes, let's see if Ryan can have that rematch or Davis winning the first fight is enough for the fans not to clamor a second fight.
1404  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price guess for March on: March 02, 2023, 12:50:55 AM
Yeah, I do agree with the majority, I mean we did touch $25k several times if I'm not mistaken, it's that it quickly evaporated as everyone is making a profit and selling at the price. But in any case, it's a barrier that we are going to break again and again and maybe we got lucky this March that once we breach it, we can have a sustain rally up to $28k. So my guess for this March is $25k or higher, and it might be achievable in the last 2-3 weeks of this month.
1405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are investors so sceptical about Altcoins? on: March 01, 2023, 09:40:23 AM
It's because altcoins are too

1. risky - many turns out to be scam, or developers left the project so there is no roadmap or improvement after the released so and it die
2. manipulation - if the project still exist up to this day, there could be some groups, man in connection with the people behind to pump and dump. Thus making them more money
3. some of them simply die - that's how it is, there is some life span for this project, specially if there are no support from the community

And so on, not all altcoins though are like this, there are still solid projects specially in the top 10.
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane on: March 01, 2023, 09:13:35 AM
I also think that Jon Jones is going to win this fight. It's time to prove again and that he is back with this huge statement win.

There are videos of Jones circulating, and he working on that take down of his and probably this will be his bread and butter in this fight. I'm not expecting this fight to last the full distance though. The under 4.5 rounds looks very attractive at 2.xx odds.
1407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 01, 2023, 08:44:05 AM

Yes, saw that news too, and it's going to hurt the Lakers chances to make it to the playoffs. When you think that everything is working on their end, and we saw James still plays during their massive comeback and then limping out, and this could be the price to pay for that comeback of them.

He is getting old and became injuries prone to hunt him nowadays even though he takes care of his body more than any other NBA player right now. Too bad for them and they've just easily lost tonight against the Grizzlies. Maybe this year will not be their destiny to be playing in the NBA playoffs and even though they can manage to get to the play-in tournament, surely they will gonna struggle and probably will gonna be knockout without Lebron James to help them inside the court.

Without LeBron and Davis, or either of them not playing, will certainly hurt the Lakers. With what happened, I'm sure their chances of winning will drop, as they have lost their leaders. Let's wait for more updates regarding the injury. If he will miss games, hopefully it won't be for too long.
And as what have been expected, without Lebron they have a hard time winning and it's a tough team in the West in Memphis. They still hold on though till the 2nd quarter of the game.

But Ja Morant erupted with 39 points in the game, but still good to see the Lakers with AD at the lead, trying to push and get a win.

Maybe against a low team, this Lakers will have a good chance to take a win without the injured Lebron.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 01, 2023, 08:32:40 AM
And who knows, maybe this is the start of Floyd's career in exhibitions fight coming to an end.
His exhibition career was already end when he done fight with Logan Paul, after that he have next 4 exhibitions fights with Don Moore, Mikuru Asakura, Deji Olatunji, and Aaron Chalmers. But I don't see any hype, his appearance doesn't enough to bring the crowd. Maybe if he fight with McGregor or Jake Paul, it would be different. But McGregor want to comeback in UFC, while Jake Paul only want to fight in a professional career, Mayweather will not want since he is really care with his undefeated record.
What I meant is that he will just retire and not fight anymore. But we all know that he loves to make money, so maybe just one or two more exhibition fights against McGregor or who has the hype today in exhibition matches.

Japan? Yes, not sure if he still has contract with the Rizin, Manny Pacquiao has signed recently if I'm not mistaken. So he might be the new face and face some Japanese MMA figher in their New Year's Eve event.
1409  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: March 01, 2023, 02:10:46 AM
80k this year is a 1% outcome certainly less then 10% because it requires far more accumulation and run up then we actually have under way.  Yes we started the year off to a good start but for a target like this you will get a considerable amount of selling along the way.  Even with selling we can get to 80k of course but with that decay from momentum upwards you require more power to BTC run up then what we have.  I prefer the person who said is this like 2019, the sharp move up then back down; this is more probable then straight upwards.  My guess is still consolidation, foundation building.

To reach $80k this year, we should be in a massive bull run already. But it's not the case so I agree that the chances are very slim, maybe even less than 1%. My guess is that the biggest that we can go this year is as high as $50k.

And it's going to be hard as well to reach that because it won't be parabolic rise, we might see the price going down below maybe in the later part of the year before we can go up at that levels in December as there could be hype next year because of the bitcoin block halving. So more so accumulation at the last quarter in preparation for that activity, April-May 2024, so there will be FOMO.
You are on point, the $80K price is not feasible this year, it would be a milestone since it would breach the all-time high of the coin which is not what I see possible until halving time. The best of Bitcoin this year should be between $30-45K, nothing more, and for it starting the year well is still not an indication that it would perform well for the rest of the year.

Many factors like inflation will still be a gauge of where it's heading, I hope that inflation does not bite as much as it did last year.
Or $50k for some speculators. But first we need to get over that barrier of $25k this month and see how the pattern will emerge in the next couple of months. But I also do agree that $80k is improbable this year.

And if did reach $80k then we will have new pattern emerging as we don't have to wait for the halving to push for new all time high. But the chances of that to happen is slim, bitcoin halving will still be the catalyst no matter what. And no amount of positive news can sustain a run of up to $80k this year.
1410  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin market speculation for the month on: February 28, 2023, 09:17:53 PM
It is normal for us to be indecisive right now, it is normal for everyone to be like that, because we are neither seeing a bad fall nor seeing a big increase. We have done a good amount of increase a bit in the past 2 months, from the 16k range to 24k and that was a good thing, but ever since that happened, we haven't seen much. However, as someone who has been here for a long time, I can promise you that there is a good amount of increase and investment going into crypto these days for sure, it's looking much better than what it used to and that matters, we should be cheerful, and not doubtful.
Exactly,  Bitcoin have done a significant price increase since the beginning of the year 2023, and right now bitcoin relies on around the 23,000+ and the rest is history because bitcoin have maintained a price region between 23k-24k price since the beginning of the second week of the month of February.

-At least this present price is remarkable enough because we never expect this level of price increase most especially when the entire market is still recovering from a major crisis from last year.
As you have said, it's recovery, and that is what we have seen last January massive bounce back and then February simply putting us where we should be prior to the FTX collapse.

So maybe we are going to maintain this price, or break the barrier of $25k and this time should be sustainable at least to go and attempt $26k-$27 in March. Let's see what March can offer to us, we can only hope that there will be no lower lows or any black swan events.
1411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano (ADA), The Public Chain for Smart Contract will be Launched Soon on: February 28, 2023, 09:02:26 PM
cardano is a coin with a good project. but if we see a lot of cardano investors who can't wait for this project to be finished
So many cardano investors are starting to leave. but i'm still holding on and i'm sure cardano will be able to finish their project and pull back
their investors leaving and attracting new investors.
they have a clear project and roadmap, a good project certainly takes time to complete to perfection.

Agreed, Cardano has been trying for a long time to build smart contracts on their chain but they are failing to launch their new products. But I also want to give them time because the value of its native token is increasing every year. Maybe they are going to bring us a different style of product which is taking so long.
Yes, and perhaps that what in their mind, I mean they have the support and consensus of the community and so they will always have to released this kind of roadmap to hype their project again and again.

And it seems to be working though, so as long as they are going to be active, I just it's they are going to be fine and survived this bear market. And that is one thing, they wanted to have their new iteration released perhaps in the bull run to take advantage of it and have the investors pour money again, pushing a new all time high in the next coming years.
1412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: February 28, 2023, 08:38:59 PM
what lessons can be learned by this event?
That celebrities can have gambling problems too and that they can also be wrong, and you should not make the mistake of thinking that due to their level that they know gambling well and then follow their games and predictions. Drake can afford to loose a huge amount because he has the means to get it back, but can you? The choices you make in gambling should be personal and not a replica of another persons opinion without research. Your decision and choices can be influenced by another persons opinion, but you have to be able to do some analysis on your own and not follow blindly.
Yes, they have problems, however, this celebrities have money to burn, so we can't say if they are really addicted or not.

And he has bet on several sports if I'm not mistaken, and he either win or lose, just like regular gamblers here in our community. I guess the lesson is that we should gamble money that we can afford to lose, from celebrities to just average joe gamblers. It's too bad though if there is some gamblers who just blindly follow the bet of their celebrities.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: February 28, 2023, 12:44:10 PM
If you were told the outcome of a soccer match, hours before the match was scheduled, and you were assured that it would 100% win, how much would you be willing to bet on it? Assuming it was a 100% can’t lose situation.

Assuming you had millions of dollars that you could put on the match, where would you place the bets? Bookies often limit players. How could one successfully place millions of dollars in bets without drawing up suspicions or having their money frozen? Just curious.
Then you have to like scatter it across several bookies, but still, this bookies has system to recognized when there is something awry with bets and where it's coming from and where the bets is going.

So in any case if there is really a big suspicions in their end, they might confiscate your winnings and worst, even the money that you put, that big $1 million, might not return to you.
1414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 28, 2023, 12:21:27 PM
Mayweather is getting it pretty bad in the news today for the lack of people showing up to his last fight.  That's sort of embarrassing and shows that people aren't really willing to pay to see him fight anyone no matter where he goes.  A long ways from the hype of the Conor McGregor fight.

I'm awaiting the results of the Tommy Fury and Jake Paul fight now.  I didn't go crazy but tossed a few in for Jake Paul.  I like his troll act and think he's put in a ton of work to be able to compete at such a high level and knock out legitimate athletes.  I look forward to seeing him continue to try and get to a world title.
I didn't know Mayweather had a fight.  Grin

Just finished reading the news and it was held in London, there were a lot of different reasons from different people on why there's a lack of people who watched it but I doubt that's the right one. Even if he has lesser fans in the UK, that is still Mayweather who was undefeated before he retired. There will always be followers who would go to lengths and visit London just to watch him.
Some say it's because his opponent Aaron Chalmers is not that popular. Well, yeah that's the case but again, that's Mayweather.
Honestly, I just sniffed this news from you, meaning it was not in the trend or they failed to hype it even before the fight.
I'm not familiar with Chalmers as well, maybe Floyd thought that he is popular in the UK that's why he staged that fight in that place thinking UK fans are going to buy their tickets.

But we have the Tommy Fury and Jake Paul fight in Saudi as well and maybe that's where the UK fans is.

And who knows, maybe this is the start of Floyd's career in exhibitions fight coming to an end.
1415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 25, 2023, 01:28:38 AM
But apparently, Bivol is willing to go down to 168 lbs and fight Canelo as long as Alvarez is willing to put his belt on the line.

That makes sense since it's already clear from the start that Bivol will only take the rematch against Canelo with the belt on the line.

But I'm not aware of it honestly that Bivol is willing to go down. As far as my knowledge is concerned, it's Canelo's camp doing the run.

Regardless though, a fight with Beterbiev or Canelo is a good one for Bivol. Let's see.
I just saw this one when trying to look for articles about Bivol wanting to go down to super MW weight class to get Alvarez,

Quote
“Of course it will be enough motivation for me to make 168,” Bivol told Boxing Social. “But I need to think about it more. I wasn’t 168 for many years. I didn’t make this weight. But if this fight is possible, OK , let’s talk about it. Let’s do it. I think I would be ready.” Bivol said in an interview with Boxing Social media.

https://www.wbaboxing.com/boxing-news/bivol-willing-to-drop-weight-class-for-rematch-with-canelo

From his quoted words, he still not sure if he will want to down to 168 lbs or not. There should be motivation though, belts of Canelo or money wise. Or Bivol chasing greatness here, a win over Canelo will put him of holding 2 world belts simultaneously.
1416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 25, 2023, 12:41:40 AM
^^ Yeah, should be in Vegas for that week and it will be huge for the city again as gamblers are going to flock on the city and probably there will be whales along the way to put a bet on this fight and play on casinos as well.

Davis still the huge favorite here, as I have initially, imagine what will be store for us if this two finally do their weigh in and face off. For sure as their is animosity between this two, there will be a lot of bad mouthing and hearing expletive words in the press conference.
1417  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much time For next halving? on: February 24, 2023, 09:21:58 AM
Yeah it's every 4 years, but the thing is that there are no exact date, others says it's on the second week of May.

But the time seems to be adjusting based on the hash rates, if it continue to go up, then maybe it will be the last week of April if I'm not mistaken. So I guess we shouldn't be totally embroidered with the date, it will definitely come.

The question is that if we are all ready for it, have we stack enough sats?
1418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 24, 2023, 08:52:39 AM
Yes, but we haven't seen his chin tested early though, it was just Donaire who really broke the barriers literally when he fought Inoue the first time. He broke his orbital bone on that fight, but still Inoue tapping on his mentality to even become stronger in the later rounds even if he has suffered that.

Yup, that was one hell of a punch that Inoue took and yet he survived that one. If only it was not Inoue on the receiver's end of that hook, that fight is over. I agree that Inoue got a granite chin that he couldn't be knockout with a single punch, should be volume if you wanna knock out this monster which is a very tough hill to climb because opponents have to take some punches also before they can hit him hehe.

Donaire got him already with that hook. It was already the sign that Inoue could be hurt and made dizzy and wobbly. Speaking of volume, it was what Donaire lacked after that hook caught Inoue. Donaire should have jumped right into him and release a barrage of solid punches. Such move is risky of course because Inoue could counter with a strong one but it was also a risk worth taking because letting Inoue recover is definitely a worse move. And it was proven with the decision of that fight.
That was the first fight wherein Donaire really hurt Inoue and it was the first time that we saw Inoue got wobbly and dizzy because he was hit by a solid punch, nevertheless he didn't go down but instead continue to go on.

And most likely Donaire see that weakness of Inoue that's why in the rematch it was a different approach by him. He try to go toe to toe and hoping that he can get another opportunity for the left hook. But Inoue is too smart to be hit again and so that strategy back fired on Donaire.
1419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 24, 2023, 08:34:31 AM
^ Yes, Eddie Hearn wanted a Bivol vs Beterbiev and so is Bob Arum, so let's see how they are going to work it out.

Its just for now it's complicated as Bivol is targeting Canelo as well, either 168 or 175 lbs. And then Callum Smith is also coming into the horizon and also looking for a big payday against Beterbiev. We wait how the Smith vs Stepien result will be though, if he wins maybe Bivol is willing to fight him instead of waiting for Bivol.
Time is running out on Beterbiev though, I mean he is not getting any younger, if in two years, he didn't get Bivol it might be too late when the are going to face in the future and it might not be the fight that we are expecting for.

And so we might not see the unification fight in my opinion.

And they will have to go on their separate fight, Bivol vs Buatsi, Beterbiev vs Smith.
1420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 24, 2023, 08:20:09 AM
Maybe it's time for that Westbrook "thing-y" to move on I guess?
I just want to ask a question regarding the Westbrook's previous team, the Lakers.

With only 23 games remaining, and with their better roster now compare to where it was before trade deadline, do you think that the Lakers will clinch the playoffs this regular season? What is the ceiling for this new Lakers roster this season?

I mean they have a chance. They are on the 13th seed right now, but the are only 5 games behind the 4th seeded Clippers. That's how tight the Western Conference right now. This is the tightest competition that I've ever seen in the Western Conference.  For me, I see them clinching to a play-in spot and the highest that they might probably get is the 8th seed.
The Lakers will probably have to win 15-16 games of their remaining 23 to get in the playoffs. That may not even be enough, it might only get them to the play in game. They have a chance and a lot still believe in Lebron. It's 50/50 IMO.
Yes, it might not be enough, but they earn a good win today against the defending champion in Warriors. And they play good basketball, it was Malik Beasley who lead the team with his outside shooting. But it was a team effort, a lot of them scored in this game.

Take note though that D'Lo scored just 2 points, Lebron James just 13 points.

But it was enough to take that big win.
