1481  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there still future for growth in bitcoin and crypto? on: November 30, 2022, 09:05:54 PM
Bitcoin & even crypto have a very big part to play in the future of finance. If you look at what Central Banks have been doing, printing fake money, inflating the supply, you will see that there is room for other forms of payment. Governments actions have allowed sickening inflation numbers, they are stealing from you.

The powers that be will fight us but cryptocurrency is going nowhere. You can protect your future & your purchasing power by buying digital property, bitcoin.
1482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase wallet stops support for XRP, ETC, XLM and BCH on: November 30, 2022, 08:47:14 PM
It’s seems harsh but I guess business is business. If those coins aren’t bringing in enough trades & obviously fees (which is what it’s all about for exchanges) then it makes sense to delist. I’m not sad to see BCH chosen as one to delist, it’s about time really that scam was unravelled.

With regards to XRP it could just be ass covering by Coinbase because of the impending battle with the SEC.

I had high hopes for XLM years ago but it seems to have failed to gain enough adoption.
1483  Other / Off-topic / Re: JPMorgan expects that Bitcoin will fall to $13,000 in value on: November 30, 2022, 08:20:29 PM
Falling even further than the current price wouldn’t be something unusual. To match previous draw downs in bear markets (from ath to cycle bottom) we could even dip below $10,000.

You don’t need to worry though, bitcoin will recover & smash new ath’s. It's just a matter of time. You need to be very patient but it will recover.

Now is also a great time to buy, good luck.
1484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The market will come back bigger again on: November 29, 2022, 08:11:16 PM
Cryptocurrency will of course have future bull markets. I have lost count of the amount of times people said bitcoin is dead. So many times, so many obituaries but we are still here churning out block after block after block.

It does take balls to HODL through long bear markets but you just need to be patient. A bit of patience is not much to ask for great profits that are not achievable in stocks & bank products.

Stay strong, HODL & you will be greatly awarded.
1485  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published... on: November 29, 2022, 07:52:50 PM
I am guessing there will be lots about ‘verified account’ Trump supporters being silenced during the last election. I think a lot of banning on ‘free speech’ will be revealed. Probably loads of stuff about COVID also. I am really intrigued to see everything that is revealed. Some people are going to be very uncomfortable right now.
1486  Other / Off-topic / Re: bitcoin will save us bitcoin is changing the world on: November 28, 2022, 12:30:33 PM
Fiat currencies around the world are losing purchasing power. Lots are beginning to become worthless, almost like toilet paper. The $ will be the last domino to fall, it may not be imminently but it will happen. Bitcoin is where you want to store your money, it’s the lifebelt for the absolute carnage that will come. You need to protect your financial future, bitcoin is the perfect asset for this purpose.
1487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or altcoin? on: November 28, 2022, 12:04:09 PM
I think the potential is there & likelihood that you could make more profits by getting lucky & buying alts. However, it’s a bit of a lottery because you can see all the scams & rug pulls in ‘crypto’

Bitcoin will give you almost guaranteed profits if you can hold for a number of years. Tomorrow is not promised with alts so it’s a choice you have to make yourself.
1488  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you guys feel about social media? on: November 25, 2022, 01:42:47 PM
I still use Facebook to keep in contact with friends from back in the, also relatives that I’m not totally tight with.
I do have an instagram but I rarely use that now. I have Twitter which I mainly use for news, I find Twitter is the best source for near enough real time things breaking.

I don’t use TikTok, I find that’s for girls in their early 20’s. Bit embarrassing to see middle aged dudes using it. Overall social media has its uses but I am not the biggest advocate.
1489  Other / Off-topic / Re: Getting up and having positive hope on: November 25, 2022, 11:42:38 AM
Trying to be positive & stay upbeat is always going to give you the chance of living a happier & more successful life. Try & read the book by Rhonda Byrne, The Secret https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_(Byrne_book)

It suggests that good things come to you if you constantly stay positive. Some of it is a bit weird but I agree with the sentiment.

Being miserable & negative will never do you any good.

FOOTBALL NEWS
Why there's been more stoppage time in the 2022 World Cup?

It has been explained that the essence of the long extra time is compensation for the little time spent on VAR Checking, goal celebration, substitution, treating injured players etc. What do you tink about this latest development in football? do you think it is the right time for this since a major concern in this world cup is about the heat in Qatar?

It is quite strange to see so much added time in the soccer world cup. We kind of got used to some more added time previously due to VAR but there has been even longer added time during this world cup. It is supposed to be to avoid teams time wasting like if they are winning 1-0 late in the game, delaying restarts by taking long. It punishes that but it’s kind of weird seeing 100 minutes or more for a game that is supposed to be 90. One thing is for sure, we will see lots of late drama in the tournament, teams have to fully concentrate for longer.

Welcome to the forum, I think it’s good to familiarise yourself with the forum, have a venture around the different subsections of the forum but the first thing you need to do is go to where it all began. You need to read the Bitcoin Whitepaper.

1492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could have Satoshi faced if he made himself known from the beginning on: November 24, 2022, 08:26:19 PM
He could have been targeted by thieves, hell even government agents could have been trying to ‘suicide him.’
He would have been accosted by media, hangers on, he would have unwanted publicity. It works best for him & bitcoin in general that he remains anonymous. He may even be dead, I don’t think we’ll ever know & in my opinion it is best that way.
1493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SBF Confirmed He Will Be Speaking at NY Times’ DealBook Summit on: November 24, 2022, 07:54:55 PM
I really just want to see him behind bars, it seems like the media are trying to treat him softly & not for the criminal that he is. Maybe it’s because he donated lot of money to Biden’s campaign. I dunno, it just feels weird, why isn’t he being questioned by the FBI for his leading role in one of the biggest frauds in the 21st century.
1494  Other / Off-topic / Re: Beat friend sent me death threats what do? on: November 23, 2022, 12:50:02 PM
You know some debt isn't worth the conflict, that's why I usually won't lend money to my friends. I'm not a bank.

I never lend money to friends or family, it’s just not worth the stress. To be honest I can probably count on one hand how many times people have even asked me to borrow money. In the past with one of my wife’s relatives I just told him I had all my money invested so couldn’t lend him any.
It’s just not worth the stress, as the OP’s situation shows.
1495  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin wallets that support replace-by-fee (RBF) on: November 23, 2022, 11:23:24 AM
I agree, it should be more readily available to amateur investors. I read a story about a guy who was very wealthy from investing in bitcoin. He was the victim of a home invasion & was tortured to send a large amount of bitcoin to the thieves. He sent x amount of bitcoin with 0 sat/byte fee, he waited for them to go & then did RBF to an address that HE controlled.

Obviously the robbers weren’t tech gifted so went he sent the bitcoin without a fee they didn’t have a clue. He then managed to divert to coins to himself to avoid losing them. I assume he moved house so they didn’t come back when they figured out what he’d done.
1496  Other / Off-topic / Re: Beat friend sent me death threats what do? on: November 23, 2022, 10:49:00 AM
Just take some time to think about it but no harm was really done. If you value him as a friend then you should probably consider making up with him. Go for dinner or something & have a good chat. He needs to pay you that money back though. Just because you have money doesn't mean he can take money & not pay it back. You are not a charity so he really needs to respect that & pay you back.
1497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who will win, FTX or BINANCE? on: November 23, 2022, 10:09:02 AM
This didn’t age well did it. I guess none of us were to know the extent of the amateur business practises of SBF & his executives. I’m shocked myself to be honest, there was gross misconduct & outright fraud from all directions.
There simply must be jail time for many of them. There is no defence or reasonable excuse for playing Russian Roulette with customer funds, it’s inexcusable.
1498  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk says the price of BTC will rise on: November 21, 2022, 08:49:56 PM
We don’t need Elon Musk to tell us that the price of bitcoin will rise. We’re in a bear market, what comes next is the transmission to bull market. I don’t know exactly when that’ll be but I do know it’ll come. After crypto winter comes crypto spring & then crypto summer. There is always light at the end of the tunnel, stay strong.
1499  Other / Off-topic / Re: Cultivate an habit of saving on: November 21, 2022, 08:14:09 PM
Fiat savings are close to useless currently, you will not be able to match inflation with fiat savings interest rates. My advice would be to buy bitcoin regularly, I close to guarantee you that you will out-perform any fiat bro who saves in their normal bank account.

Let’s say Person A saves $500 a month in their bank savings account. Person B buys $500 in bitcoin a month, we come back to them in 10 years. Person B will have made so much more profit.
1500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright's lawsuit against Kraken on: November 21, 2022, 07:50:23 PM
This guy really has no shame, he really is a lowlife. I’m unsure what he’s actually trying to achieve here because he’s never going to win any type of court case like this. The only time he had any success (hollow) was because Cobra wouldn’t remove his anonymity to defend himself so that was won by default.

No judge is going to award him a court victory against Kraken. I don’t know what he’s trying to achieve, it doesn’t make any sense.
