Medvedev's last break was long and impressive how many break balls Nadal fended off, I'm curious if Nadal can still win the set. If Nadal loses the set, I think Medvedev will win the tournament, Nadal's backhand is not very good today and Nadal's first serves are weak.

At the moment it really looks like that everything is going into Medvedevs direction. He seems extremely fit and now, after he has won the second set also after a very close tiebreak he also has the psychological advantage clearly on his side at the moment. Even now in the third set Medvedev seems to have not much problems at all to win his serve games, while Nadal seems to be under pressure in almost all of his serve games. I think that it is 99% sure now that Medvedev will win the Australian Open this year because i don't think Nadal has the fitness yet to show his absolute top performance level over 5 sets and he would need to do that today to have a chance.
1862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still not satisfied with crypto games on: January 30, 2022, 11:23:34 AM
Getting bored with crypto gaming projects, I'd like to make money out of something fun to play but with crypto games it's really about the money you will make out of the games, I've not seen real good game Devs utilizing the power of blockchain or maybe it's my taste of games that im used to, I just still prefer spending more time on my Xbox than crypto games because it's more fun than crypto games

I am a PC gamer for many years now and i really consider gaming to be one of my favorite hobbies. Therefore i was also very interested with all that play-to-earn and metaverse hype that was starting a few months ago and i really thought about the possibility to earn money while doing the thing that i really like to do, which would be a huge win-win situation for me. The sad truth is though, that there are rarely any play-to-earn games out there that really deserve to be called a "game". Most of them are not even running in a real game environment like games usually do. You just have a few NFT's that you can use to simulate fights or breeding or whatever...that is not really a gaming experience.
1863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 29, 2022, 02:40:17 PM
I think that Dortmund will have a tougher game than Bayern Munich next week. Because their opponent is Leverkusen which is a tough one than Leipzig this season. Leverkusen are at the third position in the standings right now. However, this still doesn't matter too much for Dortmund if we take their recent effort into account. For example, Freiburg were also one of the top teams in the standings but Dortmund still didn't care about it and destroyed them. Maybe the Leverkusen game would be a competitive one but Dortmund should be winning this one too.

I still remember the first game of Dortmund vs Leverkusen in this season. Back then Leverkusen was the stronger team in my opinion and Dortmund was pretty lucky that they have won that game with 4-3 in the end because Leverkusen was still ahead 3-2 in the 70th minute. So maybe we can expect such a close and exciting game again. I don't think that you can compare that game to the one vs Freiburg because it is a pretty big surprise that Freiburg is at the top of the table and if they have a bad day like they had in the game vs Dortmund 2 weeks ago they usually have no chance against top teams. So i expect that Leverkusen will be a tougher test for Dortmund.
1864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: we can still rely on the bounty.. on: January 29, 2022, 02:32:08 PM
more confident with tokens generated from bounty than airdrop that are currently widely available on social media..!!
what do you think about the current airdrop?
is there any hope for the future?
and is anyone still looking for luck by joining the airdrop?
What potential airdrop tokens did you get?

To be honest i have stopped about caring for airdrops in 99% of the cases. I participated in the first few airdrops of coinmarketcap but to be honest in the end those are just marketing tools to get yourself registered on their exchanges and if i remember correctly then it even is a lottery now too and even if you win you get like 3$ worth of tokens for that so it's not really worth it. "Real" airdrops are barely happening anymore nowadays an airdrop per definition for me is, that you get free coins by only submitting your wallet address. I understand though that this is not feasible anymore because nowadays there are so many airdrop hunters around that would simply create 1000 wallets.

Medvedev at 1.49 ML? Perhaps it will be a good bet for Nadal right now at 2.55. For sure this will be a great match but I guess they are overvaluing Medvedev here.

So I will go with Nadal ML here, even if he lose this game, I will be happy with the way they give the odds for a Nadal straight up win.
I just check now odds are going for Nadal @2.7 and for Medvedev @1.45 which is good as I also love to have some money on Nadal he is a monster and can change things very quickly in his own favour Medvedev is also in good form but still it's anybody game both have ability to go through for 5 set final and here I am feeling going with +3 @1.90 for Nadal is also good option. If Nadal play with calm, then surely he can win another Grand Slam.

For Ladies there is no competition as Barty is going to win this without any big trouble, she is ruthless and unstoppable for any player after few top ranked ladies already out of this competition.

I am also surprised, that Medvedev seems to be that big of a favorite for the bookmakers in this final i mean in the end he is facing Nadal, which is definitely one of the 5 greatest tennis players of all time. I think an important factor for that is his match against shapovalov where it was definitely obvious that he was completely done in the 4th and 5th set physically and only won because shapovalov somehow made so many unforced errors in the 5th set and basically gave Nadal a free win there. If Nadal has a good start into the match and wins the first and maybe even the second set then i think he has a great chance to win it. If medvedev wins the first set then i don't think that Nadal can come back.
1866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: top holders on: January 29, 2022, 12:45:56 PM
When finding a new coin, should the percentage the top holders earn influence your decision to buy in. for example if the top holders own > 50% ?

I do think that the coin distribution is an important factor. If a small percentage of people is holding most of the coins then this is definitely something that would scare me off from investing into that project at the first glance. You always need to check carefully though or ask in the telegram what those wallets are. I had this with Drip Network for example where i think more than 70% of all the tokens is in just 1 wallet, which would also be a huge no-go at the first glance but if you investigate a little further than you will see that this wallet is not owned by any person but it is the treasury wallet of the whole project where all the interest is being paid out from.

We all are wondering about what team will be activating Haaland's release clause and signing him in this summer. There are a few top teams already chasing this transfer. Real Madrid and Manchester City seem to be the most serious ones among them. But if Bayern Munich involve in this also, things can get really interesting. Because we know Bayern Munich closely by their signing big players from Dortmund. Lewandowski is the best example which can be given I assume. I'm just looking forward to see teams competing with each other to buy him.

To be honest i would also like it, if Bayern would try to sign Haaland even though i think that Lewandowski is still the better player of those two and even has less injuries than Haaland even though he is 12 years older. The fact remains though that lewandoski is already 33 years old and his contract is still running until the end of next season and i don't think Bayern should extend that contract by another 2 or 3 years. There are always rumors that lewandoski wants to leave Bayern. So if this is true i think it would be best to sell him now after this season when they can still get like 25 million € for him and Haaland would "only" cost 75 millions this summer because of a clause. Bayern could pay that amount of money and still would not have any debts. Real Madrid already has 900 M€ of debts now already and they still want to sign Haaland and Mbappé, which is ridiculous.
1868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A crash is also a chance to change allocations of your coins on: January 28, 2022, 07:22:55 AM
We have a very big crash right now and all our coins are at a loss.

While it is very sad to have losses, a crash is also a good opportunity to sell old coins and increase / add new coins. Prices will go up again at some point and for many coins it will result in a big price increase again. Even shortly after a crash, altcoins are likely to get more profits.

It is true, that a bear market grants you the opportunity to make big profits. Now is an opportunity to bring new FIAT, if you have free FIAT available, that you can afford to lose of course, into the market because now is the chance to get big and already established tokens for a pretty nice discount. I still would not buy into ETH or Bitcoin though because they are still very expansive, but other projects might already be tempting. If you are a Fan of a project but did not invest so far because early investors already made a x100 or more with it then a bear market might be a chance to get a good entry point.
1869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: January 28, 2022, 05:15:30 AM
PSG - Real Madrid would definitely be a great game. These teams both like to play an attacking football. Taking this into account, we might watch many goals in both of the games of the draw. Real Madrid are really an unpredictable team. I see them as one of the candidates of the title. If Chelsea became the champions last season when not many people were waiting for it to happen, why wouldn't Real Madrid do it too?  Grin  But it is still difficult of course. They have PSG as an opponent which are one of the biggest candidates.
We might actually be thinking most goal will come out here because the two teams loves playing attacking football, but I can say this that the both teams might be too careful to move forward, and can either end up in a goal less draw.   Or one side will have a straight win.

Not only a lot of goals, but we also expect a very interesting game because those who play are the 2 best teams from their respective leagues. Both teams are great, and I think they have an even level, but because the first leg will be held at the Parc des Princes then PSG as the host will have a slight advantage (especially if Neymar can really play in that match).

For me Real Madrid would be the favorite team in this match-up at least as of now. They are playing a very good season so far and they managed to keep their squad together even though they have 900 Million € of debts.
I find it ridiculous though that they are really thinking about signing Haaland AND Mbappe after this season with that huge amount of debts. I think stuff like that should not be allowed, but that is not really the topic here.
I think though that PSG has definitely the potential to win this match too though. So far they have not really shown that many great performances this year and i would guess that a lot of people are disappointed because of that because they expected that PSG would totally dominate every team now that they have messi. The truth is though that they now have 3 players with Neymar, Messi and Mbappe that are usually doing absolutely nothing for the defense. In very important games this could be different though.
1870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just saying on: January 28, 2022, 05:10:56 AM
In the future maybe 2025 the next big thing in crypto won't be what we've make lots of money from like the metaverse, Play2earn NFTS, they will be around but won't be the main focus, it might be web3.0 and other that's not even been acknowledged yet, just saying this because some people are already planning to pack many meme coins and other for the future your expectations might not come true

The crypto space has always been around hype. There have always been certain topics that where the total hype for a little then once the first projects of this kind appeared and turned out to be extremely successful both in terms of adoption of the project but also of course in terms of profit for the early investors, then of course a lot of copycats appear that are not really trying to make a great product but are just trying to get a piece of the hype-cake with as little effort as possible. This is of course also true for the metaverse. There are a few projects out there though where i am sure that they are still around in a few years too. If they are still in the main focus of the big public i don't know.
1871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: January 27, 2022, 07:05:38 AM
I highly doubt that Lewis will retire, dude signed a contract just this year, just to end up retiring after the season is over? I feel like it is going to be a bit different, I believe that we are going to end up seeing him be a bit different.

To be honest i also never thought that there were any substance at all to those rumors regarding the retirement of Lewis Hamilton. Just because he is angry and disappointed does not automatically mean that he will never race again. Also i think it is completely normal that someone does not post on social Media during honidays or a break.
The recent statements of officials though have changed my opinion a bit because so far we have no clear contradiction of the rumors by an official team member. We will see.
1872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Show a newbie the way on: January 27, 2022, 06:46:11 AM
Now that bear market is slowly taking over the market what can a newbie do to make money in a bear market? Staking is a bad idea in bear market I heard, even mining coins are not profitable in bear market too so what's the way forward?

First of all the profitability for staking is always the same no matter if we are in a bear market or not because you always get a certain APY of your staked coins as reward. For example if you are staking 100 Radix for 1 year and the APY is 10 % then you will have 110 Radix after a year. So you should still let your coins stake in a bear market because otherwise you would simply miss out on free rewards. Of course you shouls not sell the staking rewards during a bear market if you don't have to. Just keep accumulating until the price rises again.
1873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 27, 2022, 05:15:49 AM
Haaland is a really big player already now. He is the source of Dortmund's most goals now. He has scored so many goals at this age and become already a great striker in football history. He is doing it in one of the big leagues like the Bundesliga. When he was absent due to an injury, Dortmund didn't have a good time in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. It was even expected from Haaland to be back by the new year. But he is a so determined player that he started playing again much earlier. In short, Dortmund should do everything they can to be able to keep him for at least one more year.
we don't know when exactly to come back, he got a muscle injury, maybe he has long a break for recovery. this is will be affecting Dortmund and maybe the market also. as I know real Madrid very wants his service when Haaland is a very risk from injury maybe the price is not the same as before. possibility, Madrid didn't want to repeat the same mistake as they bought Eden Hazard.
Anyway, Erling Haaland is currently in good health and he has gone through his injury period. Also, I'm not sure Dortmund will be able to keep Haaland for much longer, because Dortmund themselves are like a team that supplies great players to other teams including their own rivals in the Bundesliga like Bayern Munich. So yeah, when there's a higher bid and that's good for the club's income, then I'm sure Haaland will still be let go in the end and that's not something that's strange anymore.

Seems like Haaland has muscular problems again and it is not sure, if he can play in the next games yet because Dortmund has not made a official statement yet regarding that topic. So we don't know yet if Haaland has just some slight pain or if he is really injured again and will miss for a few weeks. I don't really think that small injuries like that would scare off clubs that are interested in signing Haaland for the next season. I mean muscular problems happen a lot and are usually not that big of a problem. Haaland missed some games this year that is true, but it is not like that he had 2 big knee injuries or cruciate ligament ruptures already.
1874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Metaverse - Wait a minute? on: January 27, 2022, 05:10:17 AM
Hey guys!

the Metaverse announced by the Reptiloid Mark Zuckerberg  doesn't exists in any form right now? Correct?
What exists are fully independet projects, like Decentraland.

All in all they have nothing to do with Facebook Meta and are simply standalone "games" which try to profit from the hype?
Isn't metaverse simply used here in the context of "sandbox game" or "open world"?

Or am I missing a link?

Thank you guys!

All that Metaverse stuff is just the current hype of the crypto space so it's no wonder that a lot of projects are launching that are claiming to be a metaverse or that they have something to do with the metaverse. In my opinion most of this projects are no real metaverses yet or don't even want to be a real metaverse. Some of them are just play-to-earn games, but not in a virtual reality. For me a metaverse is a game or application that projects the user into a world that runs in parallel to the real world, which means hat a VR device like the occulus rift or the Valve Index is needed for the expierience. Bloktopia and Victoria VR for example aim to be a real metaverse but they still need time to develop.
1875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 26, 2022, 06:46:00 AM

@Cnut237 the absence of Djokovic has definitely boosted Nadal’s confidence, and it’ll be a disappointment if he now fails to win it. @aoluain while Berrettini looks good, but Nadal seems to hitting top form hence beating him now is very difficult hence I expect Nadal to win and proceed to the finals, and let’s hope we get some good odds for him for the finals.

I don't really think that nadal is the clear favorite in his semifinal against berrettini. I mean he just came back from an injury, we should not forget that. I saw his match against shapovalov and i have to say that nadal Was pretty lucky that he won that match. He was complete exhausted in the last 2 Sets and i think he really can thank shapovalov that he made so many easy and totally unneccesary return errors in the last Set otherwise i am pretty sure that nadal would have lost that match.
If he is able to get a quick 2-0 lead in Sets against berrettini too then i think nadal will win. If not it will be very hard for him.
1876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will competitors overcome ETH due to ever-increasing gas fees? on: January 26, 2022, 06:36:36 AM

Do you think competitors will vanquish ETH due to ever-increasing gas expenses? In the event that not, why? Are steady delays a result of miners' resistance against lessening gas expenses on the blockchain? Your input will be enormously acknowledged. Thank you.

Ethereum still has the big advantage that they are the first mover in terms of smart contract functionality on the Blockchain. Without that idea all the stuff that is possible within the crypto space like NFT and especially Defi applications would not be possible at all without the inventions of the ethereum team. The problem is that the Defi applications create so much traffic on the eth chain, that the network itself can almost not handle it anymore. I really hope eth 2.0 comes soon and brings down the gas fees to a normal price level again.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: On which esports you place bets on: January 26, 2022, 05:16:38 AM
Recently, I was asked by one of my clients to check out which esports betting bitcointalk users are most interested. I wasn't really aware of esports betting much. Because I really don't gamble a lot. Can you please share which esports you used to place bets on? It would be a great helping hand to find out the right one. Client was interested in offering bonus for bitcointalk users.

I am not a big esports bettor because i am still unsure if everything is 100% legit there, especially in small tournaments where the winner can only get for example 5000$ as prize money. If this is the maximum amount that you can win as the favorite team, you still may be tempted to accept an offer from a person that wants to cheat for a bribe and lose on purpose. I know that is probably not happening but it's still possible in my opinion. If i bet on esports though i bet on Dota 2 games. The reason for that is quite simple, i played this game myself for quite a while and i think it always helps if you understand the topic that you are betting on. If you really know the game you can already get a hint on who is winning during the draft of the heroes.
1878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: There is fear in the market, isn't it time to buy? on: January 26, 2022, 05:12:11 AM
Now there is a fear of investors in the market. Bitcoin has lost over 50% of its ATH since its recent drop, the fear index hit 13, and even altcoins that have held up well on this downtrend like NEAR, LINK, LUNA, FTM have also lost value. Short positions increase Everyone is in a panic, many fix losses and sell....

Does this mean that we have felt the bottom and there will be a rebound soon? Is it time to buy?

Well that is a tough question and i would guess that no one has ha definitive answer for that. In general i would say that it is during bear markets or unstable markets in general where the most money can be made. If you manage to buy your favorite altcoins for a discount of 30% to 50% then that is a great opportunity. The big problem is, that no one really knows if we see another downward movement from here on. I still think though that a bear market is a great opportunity to get into projects where you usually would not buy into anymore like Bitcoin itself, Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot, Cosmos all those big projects that already made a x100 or more are now relatively cheap.
1879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are people still using Ethereum DeFi? on: January 25, 2022, 11:08:40 AM
Hi everyone, I would like to hear your opinion on why a large number of people continue to use DeFi of Ethereum, if it is possible to use the DeFi of other ecosystems with lower fees, faster transaction speeds and better APY for farming in DEXs.

Just to give an example, if people use Aurora (EVM that runs on NEAR Protocol), they will get really cheap gas (0.01$<), almost instant transactions, and great APY for farming liquidity.

I would say most of the people in here that are actively trading cryptos know about the fact that there several other chains out there nowadays and that a lot of tokens are not only available on the ethereum network anymore but also on BSC, polygon, Solana and others. I also try to bridge my erc 20 tokens slowly but surely to the other networks because i am just a small fish and therefore it is just not making sense for me to pay 50$ of eth gas fee if i make a swap that is worth 60$ or so. Still ETH was the first mover of that whole smart contract thing and it really deserves praise for that.
1880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: little knowledge about gambling - before I knowing bitcointalk.org forum on: January 25, 2022, 11:02:55 AM
As we know that Gambling offers players the chance to pocket a lot of money, but it can also lead to significant monetary losses (which we all had). Even though I'm new to this forum, but I want to share a little experience related to gambling on various online sites. While you may hear it often, here's a snippet:
1. Know when is the right time to stop playing.
2. Set limits and monitor your money.
3. Safeguard your budget.

All the points that you have listed totally make sense and should really be followed by everyone that is gambling already or plans to start gambling in the future. All of the points that you have listed though are very well known in the scene already and i would guess that 99% of the gamblers are aware of them. Still it is very hard for some people to really stick to this advice and there are several reasons for this. Some are maybe very prone to develop a gambling addiction pretty quickly while others just don't have the mental strength to really stop when their budget is gone.
