1861  Economy / Economics / Re: 4th industrial revolution and what part in it blockchain might play on: October 06, 2019, 05:53:30 PM
I wouldn't say that it would be a industrial revolution especially when the only affected entities are just big corporations taking advantage of the blockchain technology. Although its clear to me that Blockchain is ahead by a few steps from cryptocurrencies if you really want an industrial revolution to happen you should look for the mass adoption that will happen with cryptocurrencies as this would affect everyone not just corporations having their own versions of blockchain. Could you imagine a world that a lot of establishments are accepting cryptocurrencies? This would just signify a change in the economy and the world as we know it, we now have a good alternative for credit cards and debit cards as well as Paypal to pay goods and services.
1862  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sentiment just hit rock bottom on: October 06, 2019, 04:23:18 PM
Haven't we all have experienced this several times already? When we are talking about negative market sentiments in the crypto market what do you notice who is posting these things? We only see newbies or low ranking members spreading topics like "I don't believe in Bitcoin" or "Bitcoin is a bubble" type of thread and all that is really happening is these certain individuals have lost their money on a trade they aren't prepared to enter. And now they are considering this as part of the market sentiments from the overall audience of the market which isn't really an accurate thing to do when most of the veterans out here are still bullish for Bitcoin.
1863  Other / Meta / Re: Digital Goods Sub Question - Mentioning Your Own Site on: October 06, 2019, 01:12:53 PM
In terms of rules being broken I don't think you will break any if you will promote the website in your own thread keep in mind that posting a post to bump a thread doesn't put your thread on top anymore so you just avoid it.

I thought I read you could bump your own thread once every 24 hours. Is this not the case? Or you're saying even if you post a new post every 24 hours but it does not actually move the thread up to the top of the board again?

It depends on the section posted in.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5183553.0

Just read the link that TECSHARE provided because that's all through it some boards related to the marketplace and service/altcoin announcement don't have the post bump capability anymore and all bumps to move up to the board are done with the bump score. The bumps of course are made by other members and there are no assurances that you will even move up with just one bump from another member. Bumping power varies from member to member depending excluding the newbies which really don't have any bumping power at all.
1864  Other / Meta / Re: Digital Goods Sub Question - Mentioning Your Own Site on: October 05, 2019, 09:43:49 PM
First of all if you will be selling the domain one-by-one then I think it's right board is the digital goods section but if you will be promoting a website where you sell your domains at I think the right section would either be the Service Announcement or the Marketplace section since you will be promoting your website as well, since you aren't just exactly selling the domain as a product directly in the forum. In terms of rules being broken I don't think you will break any if you will promote the website in your own thread keep in mind that posting a post to bump a thread doesn't put your thread on top anymore so you just avoid it. Another thing is you can't promote your website by posting the link and posts you make as it's called shilling and is a taggable offense by the DTs.
1865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think Bitcoins biggest vulnerability is? on: October 05, 2019, 08:50:29 PM
I think a lot of people have perfectly stated it in the past post in this thread. It's not Bitcoin itself that has the problem but all of the external factors attacking it that leads to FUD and agony in the market. What I'm talking about is the fake news being spread, the government and its uncertainty for the future of the industry, and again the misleading information being spread making most of the people into the industry go down in shambles. Without really the negative things being spread for Bitcoin and the industry I think we have gone far by now in terms of mass adoption and acceptance by the general population. But this vulnerability I'm talking about doesn't have any solution at all as this couldn't be avoided and the best way to battle it really is to hope that the trust will outweigh the negative things surrounding the industry.
1866  Economy / Reputation / Re: Admin's Temperament on: October 05, 2019, 08:03:38 PM
I would recommend that you don't use the word "admin" but instead use the word "manager" for both project and bounty managers since this are really their real positions and admins are only used as a term for the ones in charged of running the forum. But if there is really a real abuse happening done by the bounty/project managers it would really be helpful if you just identified them and not make this thread as hypothetical as it will help us understand the "abuse" you are talking about. But commonly we don't deal with things regarding on how managers run their campaign as technically they are the ones running it and they have the last say on who is joining and who is not for their campaign.
1867  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Satowallet disappears with over $1 million in user's funds on: October 03, 2019, 06:29:12 PM
Chances are the government will already create a "solution" without even identifying the problem first and this solution would most likely be shifting their views again and completely ban the crypto industry in its entirety.

Nigeria is unstable so it wouldn't really surprise me if they ended up doing that, but I hope they have a few brain cells with some sense in them and combat the offenders instead of the tools they use.

If they ban crypto entirely that still isn't a 'solution' at all because people with bad intentions can still easily set up similar schemes and scam people. It's already illegal and severely punishable, so what will effectively change when they ban crypto? I'm inclined to say that it will make things even worse because these scams will be the only options available to people chasing profits. Lips sealed

Yeah banning crypto wouldn't be a solution to anything but based from what I see on how governments work they would rather act quickly rather than thinking out the whole process first. If this issue gets any bigger or this thing happens again on another business who will scam people then I don't think they would have anymore solutions to do and ban crypto immediately just to say they have a solution for what is happening. They would rather put the blame on something then catch the people who committed the crime.
1868  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela's central bank is holding Cryptocurrency! on: October 03, 2019, 05:52:58 PM
We don't even know how much are they owning for their country yet. They might own some but the question really is what is the main point on having them in the first place and until know all I see are just confirmations without any kind of actual detail on how much they have, what price they have bought it, and what are they really planning to do with it in the first place. I have posted on another topic related to Venezuela about how can Bitcoin save them from the hyperinflation they are experiencing and I really didn't believe that they are trying to go for it this fast. I still don't think it can save their assess on fixing their economy especially if they don't know how to trade their Bitcoins properly.

The whole issue has actually been severely muddled to the point that we cannot tell anymore which part of it is real news or which part of it is only the product of interpretation or rumor. I guess the Venezuelan government has not issued a clear statement on this. People are taking tiny hints and made everything explode with all their interpretations. There really are no resources released by Venezuela itself to clear all these.

If I may add, if the Venezuelan government thinks that this is going serve as the redeeming factor to their socio-economic and political woes, they are badly mistaken. They need to wake up.

I know that we cannot trust any kind of news coming from Venezuela anymore especially if its coming from crypto news websites as they just pad and augment local news coming from them but if this thing has any truth with it I don't think Venezuela's government doesn't really know what they are doing on turning to another cryptocurrency as a saving grace for their situation, without going into detail we don't really know if they are in fact holding cryptocurrencies. Without any kind of first hand sources for news coming from Venezuela we really don't know what situation are they really in or have it worsened ever since.
1869  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IS IT SCAM ? OR IS THIS REAL ANY IDEAS on: October 03, 2019, 03:17:41 PM
The mode on how they contacted you for their “investment” is already a red flag plus they are impersonating Coinbase for their program. Other than that you will see that the retirms are unbelievable/unrealistic for a real investment. Good thing that you have a grasped on seeing what scams are in the internet and be comfortable on seeing them on platforms such as Telegram and also Twitter and Facebook since the scammers always hunt for victims their. Other than that you really don't have that a lot of investment options lying around in the industry it's either  you trade on a crypto exchange or go for a low paying and legit cloudmining operation.
1870  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-10-02] Bitcoin Logo on Futsal Florentia, Serie A Women’s Football Team on: October 03, 2019, 11:12:20 AM
~snip~
Not sure if it's an attempt to improve awareness, it's more of sponsorship for BTC. Doesn't really show that much to be honest, it's not really the top league so we don't know if those teams are interested in sponserships from crypto-companies, but it's a good start and does show some hope.

Would love to see some crypto company's logo on the back of a soccer jersey, I think that'll attract a lot of attention - and at that point, crypto would be super mainstream Smiley

What sponsorship are you talking about? This was only done by the management becasue they don't have any sponsors and they are the only ones who agreed to make Bitcoin's logo and name be visible to their jerseys. This self-promotion for Bitcoin might have another motive just like Watford's decision on putting the Bitcoin's logo on their jerseys since they have also announced that the reason why they did it is because they will be accepting Bitcoin payments for their clubs tickets and other merchandise.
1871  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin tipping app for mobile devices on: October 02, 2019, 08:53:03 PM
I wouldn't want to ruin the fund but I think you are just adding a lot of steps in the whole process of Bitcoin payments. You might think that a "share" button for sending tips should simplify the process on sending Bitcoin to them but in fact it's not instant and it just complicated the process. If a website I am visiting is open for tips then their address (sometimes a QR Code for their address) is already made available in their website and its highly visible all you need to do is to copy or scan their QR code to obtain their address for you to send them Bitcoin to on your own wallet. You must offer something unique in order to see that this might be a better alternative compared to sending Bitcoins directly using a wallet.

1873  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-10-02] Bitcoin Logo on Futsal Florentia, Serie A Women’s Football Team on: October 02, 2019, 07:38:36 PM
If they are really aiming for "improve awareness" for the cryptocurrency they are doing the worst they can by putting it on a shirt in futsal team playing on a lesser known league and of course on the women's division where it doesn't even receive half the fans on a men's division of that sport. I think they only did this because they are lacking sponsors and basing from what I see in their jersey they really don't have that much names tied to their shirts. But nevertheless this is a good start if a crypto company plans to be shirt sponsors on any football team this might be a good start to spread awareness for the crypto industry especially Bitcoin, the only question is will this be an effective way to promote mass adoption as well if more than half of the fans don't even know what Bitcoin is.
1874  Economy / Speculation / Re: New printed money into crypto? How? on: October 02, 2019, 07:12:51 PM
Even if the government prints new money their citizens still has to earn it, the government just don't give them away to their citizens for them to spend it on everything. If you are expecting that the newly printed money will go on its way fast in the crypto industry then think again, printing new money doesn't mean a thing aside from devaluing their own fiat currency. It doesn't promote anything about boosting the economy but it's just about timing the supply and demand for it.
1875  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Coinexchange.io is Closing Down. Official announcement. on: October 02, 2019, 06:30:14 PM
~snip~
Yes i expect more exange will be closing since there are too many of them right now in the market. And bad situation now for crypto market that will be the reason why there are too many of them will forcely close. Users of coinexchange is still lucky they can widraw funds they have in that exchange unlike what happen in cryptopia .

The small ones maybe but big exchanges which has most of the market share in terms of people trading with it daily I don't expect them to go down that easily since they are already earning revenue consistently. Coinexchange.io even if I'm somehow familiar with their name is not considered to be a big exchange and I don't think their daily trading volume is even comparable to the big ones. I expect if the big ones even struggle a bit due to the price drop we are experiencing I can only see them downsizing by laying off some of their employees again.
1876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: October 01, 2019, 08:49:54 PM
Chris Clemons quickly scores 21 points in Rockets' preseason debut

NCAA’s top scorer in the 2018-19 season at 30.1 points per game and is the third-highest scorer in D1 college basketball history.

https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/2019/09/30/chris-clemons-quickly-scores-21-points-in-rockets-preseason-debut/amp/

It's a pre-season game what do you expect? That this game should be taken seriously because there are NBA players playing against a Chinese team? I don't think so we all know that pre-season games are not taken seriously and everything is about testing the waters. Chris Clemons might have scored that good because of course his confidence is up since he is playing against a team on another league and they have outscored them all through out the game. This would be a lot different in the regular NBA season and I don't think he will have that kind of production let alone have that kind of minutes given to him when that time comes.
1877  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Use cryptocurrency wallet now in Browser w/out any Extensions! on: October 01, 2019, 07:06:21 PM
@Harlot it was never intended to be used as your main wallet. Some people might need this extension because they have to interact with apps or for ease of use. Imagine if you have to bring your HW everywhere that will defeat the purpose of using an HW because you expose your essential wallet in public. With this extension, you don't have to disclose your private key, and nobody knows unless they sit beside you or hijack your connection.

Yeah that is what I'm trying to say that browser-based wallets aren't really a storage solution for their crypto. From what I know most users here have a different wallet for storing cryptos and for transactions, this is really a good option if you want to have a handy wallet within your browser just to send/receive cryptocurrencies. But for me I'm still more comfortable using a mobile-based wallet for my daily crypto transactions it is much easier to scan the address than to copy and paste it in my opinion plus I won't be switching to different tabs while doing it.
1878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump’s Plan to Ban the Petro Could affect all Cryptocurrencies on: October 01, 2019, 06:29:46 PM
This is just a news article trying to connect the dots that don't even exist yet. Like from what I have seen in the previous threads related to this the ban is the result of Petro being a state-owned cryptocurrency and they don't want to do anything associated with Venezuela since they already have a bad economy under them. Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies out there that are not state-issued/owned is totally different because they are decentralized. Aside from that they are already having further developments with cryptocurrencies from Bitcoin ETFs to even some of their states accepting crypto as a payment for tax. If that is what they are really planning then it would be a big step backwards on what they already have done for the industry.
1879  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Coinexchange.io is Closing Down. Official announcement. on: October 01, 2019, 04:40:24 PM
This is what really hurts on a industry that is dependent on the prices we are having in the market. A lot of companies have downsized already since the 18 months bear market we have but this might be the worst thing to happen which is shutting down their own operations. With us being in a bear market it not only affects the prices but also affects the trading volume happening in that exchange, without people trading in their platform they won't earn anything from them. I just hope no big name exchange will follow as it will even be a more bad news for us especially their clients.
1880  Economy / Reputation / Re: Sr member, Hero, Legendary Member account seller. on: September 30, 2019, 08:49:27 PM
There isn't much anything we can do since this is just a dummy account just to promote the sale, his products he is trying to sell would still remain unblemished from any kind of red tag. Not unless if someone would go like play as an undercover and pretend to buy these accounts and then tag them after these kinds of account selling would still happen and account sellers would still be confident to do so. If we tag their farmed accounts we destroy their product.
