The Dow, sp500, Nasdaq, heng sang, Nikkei, etc......all have day traders, swing traders, investors, shorters, etc......My question is how come they arn't trading bitcoins? Why isn't anyone promoting on the trading forums? Like hotstockmarket.com, Onlinetradersforum.com, stock rants.com, and many many more! I was thinking hitting up all the forum known to exist on the Internet and promote bitcoins like crazy but I don't have time to do this. It would be nice to register a account on the popular forums and start a discussion about bitcoins. Don't you guys want to start another rally to $30, maybe even up to $100. However, we must convince the outside traders to come.
bitcoin is top secret. ya not a bad idea.... but please people, don't go spamming these forums. they will think we are desperate for their money ... which we are not! they will find out about bitcoin at one point .... best to let the universe unfold as it should. who knows maybe they will only find out about it when we reach 100$ this summer

I wonder about the male/female ratio though. As in, I wonder whether female Bitcoiners exist. I never met one on our local meetings, so sub-10% seems reasonable.
see the forum stats page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=statsMale to Female Ratio: 2.2:1

I'm 28. Only about 6 years ago did I start paying attention to financial news, started watching the stock market, etc. I've learned a lot about investing since then, and Bitcoin was my first real investment and first real trading experience. I'm glad I took the gamble - I've purchased all my street bike safety gear and my MSF course with nothing but BTC profits, close to buying my bike from a friend now.
me too, I'm 24, bought my first house on my 24th b-day... i was looking at at investments for my saving.. but all the banks will only offer you is like 1 or 2 gay ass %. (wtf is the point) so now I'm thinking of dumping a good deal of my life savings in bitcoin... the longer i think the less my ROI some people tell me i should, double my money; cash out half. double my money; cash out half. ect.. "Play the Game" but i don't want to die from heart attack!

I feel so young around you old guys. 4 12 years old... really? are people trolling? Remember that Bitcoin cares not about age. It's the only ecommerce solution for the entire sub-18 population. Given the fact that Bitcoinica was created by a 17-year old, I think it's pretty exciting that that entire section of the population may be drawn towards btc. ya but it would seem people under 18 only make up 5.9% of the bitcoin population. could it be they are to busy trading WOW gold to care about bitcoins?

not bad ... but it sounds expensive my idea for a commercial is this img displayed for 15 seconds, nothing else, not even the word bitcoin.

i love this little thing, so cool. it seems to have stopped updating?

Anyway, I made some little updates: - Favicon is included now - The "Bitcoin Alarm clock" is a bit more transparent (about 10%) to keep all more readable - The first step of other alarms is included what means an optical alarm for each column
What still is missing: - sound-chooser for different sound (and for turn of sound, keeping only optical alarm) - email-alarm (if kept running this tool) - email-alarm (even if tool is closed, but this maybe later) - twitter-alarm (maybe later, if someone wants it) - ticker for more data (which data?) - maybe more alarms (on what?)
i think a nice setup would be "dynamically adding alarms" 3 inputs [value] [condition] [method] [7.5$] [<= 1 BTC] [sound alarm] something like that, just thinking out loud

...me making the call to the cab company and sending the Bitcoins on my computer....
how will you know his bitcoin address... I hope you wont have him spell out the address on the phone! here is my solution: http://www.thebitcoinreview.com/site.php?site_id=825I'll need his company phone number & bitcoin address. I'm sure there is lots of other information he will want to put up on this listing. like his exact location or service area, I could throw in a google map. i know it looks shitty... thebitcoinreview.com is in desperate need of a make-over, and its coming soon! In the mean time any publicity is good publicity

miners have very little effect on the market
Miners don't have effect, the supply does. And supply will reduce twice. (Miners costs don't have effect because of difficulty) Reduced supply should drive price up (if there is a demand). i would say only ~5% of the daily volume is miners selling their coins. maybe when the reward is cut in half price will get pumped... but i know theirs a lot of people (including miners) holding their coins until that time. they will wait for the new highs, from speculation on the effect of the reward being cut in half. and then start selling their coins they have been holding for a long time! so once the reward is cut in half maybe ~20% of the daily volume will be atributed to minners selling coins! i expect a pump and dump for the 25BTC reward phenomenon.
