1901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is like day trading ? on: May 03, 2020, 06:39:01 AM
The conclusions are that day trading and gambling lead to losses! Here everything depends on luck, and nothing else! I'm not comparing trading with sports betting or poker, I'm talking about casino... Wink
Sports betting and poker come under the casino too. Be specific! Grin Day trading is also a 50-50 win loss game. You can have some stocks that you buy sell and make profit because you know its trends but it is tough to find such because you need to monitor them everyday and read charts, lot of works for those who are trying to get rich quick and so they dont go for it but attempt dice games where they eventually lose and thus have the mindset that day trading is also gambling, which is not completely correct.

Quote
Skills can help when trading for weeks or months, but intraday trading is not subject to technical analysis! I'm talking about it because I was losing my money trading intraday! Grin
Because you lost money on intraday does not mean that TA has no part in it. The two are completely different statements. You can make or lose money but gambling on EV- will be a loss without any doubt. Gambling on EV+ games have a chance of winning by skills.

There are some people who are doing day trading and earning good money. This is because they are very experienced in trading. If you are expert in trading and reading charts, day trading better suited to you. Casino games and gambling are totally risky for the newbies as well as for the experienced gamblers.

~snip~

It was mere suggestion from his side anyway. Even if such law doesn't comes in reality, PCB still need some fixing to do. for ex : boycott any players  who gets caught in match-spot fixing, no matter how talented they are.
I understand this all but sadly we are very lazy in these things because most of politicians and related boards have links and relationship so they are eating all they never like any strong action and law for this all.
Well its not just Pakistan problem. its same everywhere but prevalent in Indian subcontinent when it comes to cricket.

Politicians comes from the society so we can't pin blame on politicians only. Sometimes society need some soul searching too.

If you noticed there is politics in every field of life where there is money involved. Where it be a cricket or a major political seat in the country, you will find such things. If the upper management is strong and fair, only then these politics can be controlled to some extent. Also this is true for all the countries and not just few places of the world.
1903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 03, 2020, 05:27:50 AM
Man, Just for experiment. i want to see more than 24 team in one T-20 WC, no matter if its economic disaster or not... ICC should go for it.

For Olympics T-10 seems logical to me.

I would love to see two dozen teams in the T20 World Cup. But then, the ICC would never agree. On paper, they have 16 teams. But 8 of these teams are restricted to the first phase, and only 4 out of the 8 will advance to the proper tournament.

I am not a big fan of T10 format. It is too short for me. I watched the 2019 T10 league on TV and didn't liked it that much. It has nothing for the bowlers. Even T20 is heavily in favor of the batsmen, but T10 is just like a bowler's gas chamber. Why can't we have T20 in the Olympics?

Coming back to this T10 game format, it is surely a bowling nightmare but they should change the rules for T10. There should be only 5 batsmen allowed in T10 instead of 10 and this will bring some interest in the game and it will not be like blind hitting like in baseball.
If they think about this all then surely with current system T-10 is really good for Olympics because its really interesting and any team can produce any result surely we will able to have few big upsets going with 5 batsmen is not ideal as full team format is also not bad at all.

I actually like this format as I think it gives all teams even the lower ranked teams a chance at winning against the top teams as anything can happen in 10 overs so I really like the idea. Yes I agree that it will be tough on the bowlers but that was the same when T20 started, the good bowlers will learn to adapt to the game just like they did for T20 and in time I'm sure it will even out.

If you like T10 with full 10 players, then you would also like the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes, where there is six overs side match and you will only find sixes in that tournament. I don't like anything entertainment to see four and sixes of every ball.

1906  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit isn't everything in bitcointalk! on: May 02, 2020, 11:01:22 PM
Sorry for another topic about merit guys! But I wanted to tell this to everyone, especially to newbies. Smiley

A high number of merits earned by an individual is a sign that he is a quality poster but it doesn't mean every less earned member is not knowledgeable enough. Earning merits depends on a lot of factors like which section we would like to post/discuss and which local board we belong to. So some members can earn more if their board and section have high active members and merit sources.

Actually what I wanted to tell is, if you are not making enough merits even after you are giving your maximum effort doesn't mean that you are not deserved to be on bitcointalk at someday you will get caught by the merits sources until that keep posting and learn new things which you are being yourself.

If anyone is a regular poster on this forum, he/she will definitely like to get merits. No one can deny the importance of merits not only because it gives you better rank, but it also proves that you are a quality writer.  I think this assumption is also wrong that anyone writes quality posts and still does not get merits. Those who does not get merits, don't deserve to get it.
1907  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Earn Cryptocurrency on: May 02, 2020, 06:29:04 PM
Thank you all for suggesting me some very cool ways to earn cryptocurrency. Yeah I also heard about the Brave browser and currently I am using it from the last week or so. But I am not sure why I did not receive any ads. And quite sadly my balance still remains at 0.00 BAT. Anyhow, let's see what I can earn from it.

Earning from brave browser is also very less and i am afraid you will not earn much money from it. If you seriously want to earn crypto currencies then you need to have or develop a skill and offer that skill for bitcoins. This is the best way to  earn bitcoins. All other methods will only make you earn small amount of pocket money only.

Zil and Crypto domains are new types of blockchain based domain extensions. Products of Unstoppable Domains. They are the company's solution to some of the problems facing current cryptocurrency wallet addresses. ... But not just one wallet address. Potentially all your crypto wallets can be tied to that one domain.

This is the next match which is going live on Retrolive tomorrow. This match was originally played on 21 March 1992. Did anyone watch it that time or know the result of this match ?

How can anyone forget that Match. Pakistan won that Semi final by beating the unbeaten team of 1992 World Cup in NewZealand. It was a miracle for Pakistan that Inzimam came at the middle late order and played an innings of lifetime. Later on, Pakistan won on winning the world cup.

I was in school that time, That were the good old days.  Smiley

No one imagined at that time that Pakistan will win the world cup. The posts couple of initial matches but then they started playing exceptionally well from quater finals onwards.

The team had the best ballers and batsmen at that time. Waqar younis and wasim akram were ripping apart every batsmen.

Although i did not know how exactly were Team Pakistan strong at that time but i would like to make clear few things. There were no quarterfinals in 1992 worldcup and the top 4 teams qualified for the semi finals.

Waqar younis was not the part of 1992 Pakistan Squad.

Quote
As a player, Waqar Younis had nothing but bad memories of the World Cup. ... Waqar was considered Pakistan's main weapon in the 1992 World Cup in Australia, but a week before the event started he had to return home in tears without playing a match due to injury.

@JohnBitCo @onrise

If we want only 8 regular teams for the Olympic then why are we even trying for the Olympics, shouldn't we stick to our usual routine then? Long term goal is " Promote cricket World wide" for this we need participation from new countries as well, ICC and fans can't afford "Boring Match" attitude if they want to promote the cricket, like it or not but its part of the deal.

I would agree with you about this "boring match" argument. Some of the most boring matches that I have watched involved two test playing nations. On the other hand, some of the most exciting matches involved one associate nation playing against one of the test playing nations. The defeat of West Indies during the 1996 World Cup to Kenya is still fresh in my mind. I was a small kid back then, and I was amazed by the Kenyan performance.

That said, Olympics doesn't allow too many automatic qualification slots. At the most, they may allow direct entry for 4 teams. That means that the remaining test nations need to play qualifiers and I don't think that the ICC will agree to this.

When you talk about cricket, the  term boring refers to the small teams or players which are unknown or did not belong to the Top 8 teams.
For example, If there are two T20 matches being played simultaneously between Aus Vs India and  USA Vs Canada , you will find everyone will be watching the first match even though it is a one sided one and the 2nd might be a thriller in terms of balls/run required.

Because even T-20 format seems long to me when i look at from Olympic's perspective.

Normally one T-20 world cup takes around 28ish days to finish with 12-16 teams. now imagine you are trying to fit this event in 20 days event which is Olympics. to make matter worse let's say minimum 20 cricket teams participating in Olympics, seems very tight schedule to me, in the end players might want to suicide for sure.

Why you 20 cricket teams should participate in Olympics ?  Since we have only 8-9 regular playing nations, including 20 teams would mean a lot of boring matches. It would be better if they have a pre-Olympics qualifier and only the top 8 teams qualify for Olympics, if ever the cricket is included in the WC.

1915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Gambling Life During Quarantine on: April 28, 2020, 08:15:46 AM
Gambling life during this quarantine has been zero,  no gambling at all,  the quarantine period has been helpful by curbing the gambling addiction in me,  there's nothing to gamble on during this period if only you wanna loose your money on some low leagues sports out there

There's nothing to be played nowadays, because of the rules of lockdown in each country. right now what we need to do is get some new habits with our kids. we need to spend our precious time with them. we had been wasting our time through the years and never have some really precious moments with them. we need to have some memorable activities with them.

Well, in the lock down we can only spend time with the kids in the home. We cannot go out or take them to the parks and other kids entertainment places.
Also kids feel too much bored while stuck at home all day long with no school, no friends etc. Everyone along with the kids are looking to find way out of this quarantine.

I play mixed sports betting but my grip is in volleyball  and TT

What do you mean by mixed sports betting ?
You bet on volleyball and TT (Table Tenis) separately and this is not termed as betting on mixed sports. You can bet on as many different sports you want.

Guys I was reading an article from Sachin on his birthday. He got some valid points. Cricket is not going to be the same after this pandemic crisis.
- Cricketers will not use their spit on the ball to keep the shine
- They will not celebrate the wicket taking with hug and other close body method.
- It will be hard for the cricketers to come back in their full shape because their body will deny the hard work. They will get used to this resting period. They will suffer from lack of fitness.

There were many more points in there, I lost the article sadly.

I think you are talking about this article.

Cricket will emerge a different sport in post-Covid world: Sachin Tendulkar | EXCLUSIVE

The Question which was asked:-
Quote
Post COVID-19 how do you see the game changing? There is a lot of debate on the use of saliva to maintain the ball. Your thoughts?

Sachin replied:-
Quote
The method of shining the ball is going to change now. I don’t know what it will be as a lot of it would have to do with hygiene. Celebrations also (will change); one can’t do high-fives or hug each other. Hopefully the game will start after we overcome this challenge but I feel that element will stay somewhere in the back of the mind. It will eventually boil down to the hygiene levels we maintain. So, to maintain certain level of hygiene not just during this phase but post this phase is also going to be critical for everyone.
1918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most gamblers can never hold onto big bag? on: April 26, 2020, 10:01:42 AM
I have one friend who used to play dice in stake.com, he started with a very small fund ($100), out of that money, he managed to have a balance of 24 ETH at some point but unlucky guy lost everything in one day. Once again, with the bonus he got from stake, he managed to cross 30 ETH within less than a month but yesterday, he lost everything once again.
How come he lost everything one day? Do most of the gamblers lose money in such way?

It look like that your friend has no proper plan on how to play gamble. He need to come out with a strategy on how much money to use in each game. If he keeps on wining and go all in most of games he can lose all the amount as he is doing now. Either play with the profit or play with seed money again and again, so that if you lose you only lose your profit or lose only seed money and not both.
1919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 26, 2020, 08:28:02 AM
Like I said in a previous post on here, they need this T20 world cup to go ahead because there is a lot of money on the line so I think the ICC will try everything they can to make sure the world cup is played even if it is delayed. I'm keeping my eyes on what the local sports leagues here in Australia will do in the coming month, if they start again then we could see the T20 world cup start on time.

ICC wants the cricket to resume quickly but nothing they can do about that. If only they can develop a vaccine for coronavirus, only then the T20 worldcup can be held on time.  Wink

It is not only ICC but I think everyone who has been under lockdown wants this thing to end now. It has been more than 30 days now and I am stuck within my house. Life has come to a stand still. The need of this time is a. Ure to this deadly disease.

I was looking to find some life out of this quarantine life but nothing is open where a person can go and drink. No bars, no casino nothing is open where a person can go and pass his time. Life is limited to online entertainment only.
