Earthcoin is "DEAD".

Good luck for another community..

Lol. Considering that Litecoin is offical dead on this forum this might be a good thing.  Smiley

Well played!

sorry, i should have clarified, im mining in a pool not solo.  Seems to have gone dead, miners are accepting shares but pool seems to not be paying anything out.

Anyone heard any asic coin news?

btw, whats with this forum, both times ive post it says i posted 360 seconds ago (when i have not) and then it gobbles my post!

Newbie restrictions.  It's an unmititgated pain in the ass, and really only screws with the newbies who are NOT trolls. Troll don't give a fuck. When you have a few more posts and move up to the "jr. member" category, it gives you less shit.

And no, it doesn't make sense. Like many things here in Mos Eisley.

Think my account isn't deleting posts behind my back anymore?! Previous messages have all gone to message heaven  Huh

Anyway, I sort of "complained" about the load of the Global Stats page. More and more people are joining (despite lack of evidence, but thanks to months and months of clockwork payments, I guess), and loading that page or reloading it takes a while. And I guess in a way only two things are interesting: your own entry in relation to others around you, and the top earners. Although this doesn't apply to the top earner, who can only look down Tongue

WARNING: This message might self destruct in 5 seconds

I think your message needs therapy. These self destructive tendencies can't be a good thing!  Grin

I almost took the third option, there.

But I figured if you don't like bacon, you're wrong anyway, so I just went with #1.

I too am interested in full disclosure, but other than an occasional gentle reminder, I'm not going to push it. In private, you told me you would do so at some point, so I'll wait.
1925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EAC] EarthCoin - EAC v1.3.1 Now Available! Fixes latest SSL vulnerability on: July 03, 2014, 04:40:48 AM
FYI, we have a winner in the name Earthcoin's smallest denomination contest - he's been contacted to receive his EAC 700K.

The satoshi equivalent for EAC will be 'grain.' So 0.00000001 EAC = 1 Grain.

As you may know, a 'grain' was an ancient measurement, based on a grain of wheat, for denoting the smallest part of a troy ounce of gold and other systems for weighing gold.

I see your reason to invent the name for the smallest unit of Earthcoin. I see your reason not to use Satoshi for that. The only thing I can't understand is why you picked another coins name? Yes, this word is not registered tm or whatever, but it is already used by the Grain Coin longer than Earthcoin blockchain exist.

Yes, we know that. The community nominated that name, among others, and the community voted for this name; so we accepted it.

Graincoin is dead. Zero exchanges = market cap of 0. Not that it matter. Smiley

"Stop judging, so that you won't be judged"

Not judging anything and i really didn't mean to offend. I understand  that it might seem a bit harsh if you are holding a bag of grain, but it is still facts. Anyway, sorry for offending you.

It does not matter do I hold or not hold Grain. What you would say if I name 0.000001 of Grain, say, one Earthy? Would it have any impact on Earthcoin or not - nobody knows. The same we may say about consequences of naming of 0.00000001EAC as one grain - nobody knows. But, both things are unethical, IMO.

Unethical? Do you even know the meaning of the word? We did not name the smallest denomination of EAC a "Graincoin," we called it a "Grain" as in a "grain of sand." It is a common English word and was in existence long before Graincoin. By your reasoning we couldn't call the smallest denomination a "Blue," as in "blue sky," because there is a coin called Bluecoin, or we couldn't call it a "Green," as in "green leaves," because you can find "Greencoin" in the game Super Mario Cart....

Unlike some others that are apologizing, I couldn't care less if you were offended - take your inane nitpicking to some other thread.

#ignore

Well put. Didn't realize I was coming across as apologetic until you posted this, but you're right.

So, to clarify. Shit happens, I ain't sorry, and I PERSONALLY like the choice.
1926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LOOOK for profit!] [TEK] TEKcoin PoS/Pow 40% Stake Interest every 30 days! on: July 03, 2014, 04:13:39 AM
Anyone know what caused the dump this week? Was someone spreading FUD or is it just that everyone received their monthly stake and decided to all sell at the same time?

i think its the second option

I'm agreeing. You got two things going on. One, it got really hard to get ANY tek about 30 days ago. Two, it's the beginning of the month, and everybody got bills. Three, BTC went nuts. I think we're just seeing some profit taking. The two stage dump was a bit of a surprise, though. the price had nearly recovered, and then dropped again. Hopefully next month the stakeholders will be a little wiser in their sells.

Wait, what am I saying? Dump that shit! I'll be ready for it next month! Grin

I managed to buy a small amount again today - however... gotta be said here.. since folks jumped off central cavern yesterday (to pay 1.5% to miners-point!???!!!) I mined 50TEK in 24 hrs. Not bad going.
Guys, I totally understand that you are wary of new pools, but trust me, i'm all in on TEK and there is no way i'd want to do any damage to the coin in any kind of majority hashrate attack. come back to central cavern! Our luck is far better than the rest and our servers are far superior - 6xCPU 8GBRAM with local ddos firewalls (not cloudflare) on every server. Each coin has it's own dedicated server; come on folks.. it's silly to pay inflated fees when you can get so much better elsewhere!

Yop. Gotta have my bro's back, as long as he's right. I've been mining at central cavern since a bit before he took it live. No issues, and I've gotten a slightly better payout. I don't know if that's "luck", the lower fee, or a bit of both. But either way it's a damn fine pool. Come join us!

Oh, for those who don't know, I usually mine under the name JemHadar, so if you go looking for "Biomech" and don't see me, I'm not lying.

I have a couple questions hopefully someone knowledgeable can answer. What does custom change address do?

Also, I have a ton of small inputs staking at this point. Is there a way to keep the coinage / weight while also compiling all of the coins into a large sum to be staked? Is the only way to send to another address (while losing the coin age / weight) and then wait the 10 days for staking again?

My expertise, such as it is, lies mostly with Tek. But from what presstab and Thundertoe have both told me, the mechanism is essentially the same. My advice on the little ones is to wait until they stake, even if you have to wait a few days for the majority of them, and then combine as many of them as are a bit far out as possible into larger blocks. Larger blocks gain higher staking priority. The little guys WILL stake, but they might take longer. Mainly the coin control is organizational.

I'm not certain what the custom change address is, so I'll leave that to others more knowledgeable. But what coin control does is allow you to choose which coins get sent, which coins get to stay, and organize them into blocks via send to self. And yes, that does unfortunately reset staking, but you'll know to a higher degree of accuracy when each block will stake and how much it will stake. I like the feature, but it's not actually necessary to the function of the coin. Just gives you a greater degree of control.

it was a lill delay. now is ok Smiley

so, can you please enlight me a bit about solo mining? Cheesy

search function is your friend  Wink

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=83371.0

did almost as there but with HBN ip and ports from the first page, using multiminer on localhost on port 7372 with user and pass and all that i see is the work is rejected 100%

no idea how to fix it Sad

I had basically the same problem solomining. Frankly, it's easier and more likely to succeed if you just set up your own pool and point your machine(s) at it. You can set up MPOS in about an hour or NOMP in half that time. You have to tweak your machine settings quite a bit to not overrun the daemon when solomining, especially if you are using asic devices.

In the end, re-investment doesn't affect the overall return %.

No, but you need something to combat declining return due to difficulty increase

If the return is positive, then yes re-investing will increase your return and will have magnified positive impact.
However if the timing of your purchases are not optimal, then re-investing will have a magnified negative impact.
In the end, it's all relative.  "Re-investing" simply magnifies your position, but the biggest affect you are creating by doing this is the fact that you are averaging your entry point, which may or may not be what you want.

In the end, our best advice is for everybody to measure their own risk:reward outcome and decide what is best for them.  I cannot stress enough how great Excel is to determine this.

Google Docs is better. No microsoft stuff clogging up your system that way  Cool

What does clogging mean? (spying?) That means you trust Google more than Microsoft?  Shocked

I don't trust either one of them. Microsoft just tends to add in about a thousand things you don't need and slow down the system. They like form over function. I don't. Plus, I've been using linux exclusively for almost a month now, and it's FAST by comparison to Windows Cheesy

For my part, I was unaware that there was a "grain coin". Not terribly surprised, but unaware. That being said, I think I was the only team member who actually liked "grain" as the winner Tongue The vote wasn't rigged, or it would have been something else. It just came down that way. I'm pretty sure nobody on the team knew about "graincoin" prior to the contest being posted, though I can't speak for them.

I go with what's done is done. There was no malice nor ill intent. If it has a negative impact in some way, the community can simply refuse to use it. One way or the other, one participant now has significantly more than  a grain of earthcoin Cheesy

It's fun to see how you all with mining services in your signature attack me just because I am showing some simple math Cheesy

So I show it again. Don't trust me, trust these guys that set up this website.

GHASH.IO - https://tradeblock.com/mining/a/dee185c118

PBMining - https://tradeblock.com/mining/a/1ee5110f01

The only thing you can attack me on is the difficulty change, but that's practically a no go as well, especially now when the last rise was over 24%.

Difficulty rises by around 18% every step.
Steps happen around every 12 days.
To make it simple: every month difficulty raises around 32%.

Links are provided.
Everything else you say is fried air  Grin

Can't speak for anyone but myself, but my intent was debate, not attack.

At any rate, what I said and what you said actually do not contradict. Yes, if you can afford BIG mining equipment, right now, you will probably realize a positive ROI on it in a few months, and yes, the hash you buy cloudmining does come with built in diminishing returns.

All I was saying is that there are more factors than what you have put out. If one were to buy the mining rig I currently possess at half the price it was selling for, they would NOT EVER break even if they did not have free electricity. And it's not that old. If they took that same money and put it into pbmining, they might break even, because of the extended time frame. If you can generate your own electricity, that also changes the game.

Anyway, I've said my bit. I'll leave it be, unless you wish to continue it.

You better lower your prices and give back at least some chance of recovery of investment or you'll find me here wasting your efforts every time I'll find a minute.

That type of threat is illegal in most countries, I believe.  We will continue selling our hash power for what it's worth on the market.  The buyers set the price in the end, not us.  Supply and Demand.

Threat? I am threating you that I will make your possible users aware of your "product", that's all.
I will warn users that when they buy XX GH/s at YY price they won't almost surely get back their investment.

And if you think you can scare me with words you are far by a long long long shot, kiddy  Roll Eyes

I will point out the failure in your scenario. The one you cannot control for. Electicity cost. RIGHT NOW, as I understand it from my European friends, any exisiting 1st gen ASIC device is unprofitable due to power consumption. Yet here, in Idaho, that same machine would still be fine. That in itself militates against cloud mining being a scam. Some, yes, but pb has always been about on par with an Antminer running for a month. Except that the contract runs for 5 years...

If you want to make a profit INSTANTLY, or even fantastically like the early days of the Asic miners. yeah, you're fucked. Those days are done and probably forever. Want a decent income stream over five years, that's a different story. Even without referrals I would have broken even a month and a half ago, and I bought at significantly higher prices than current, and the diff rises had not leveled off yet.

There are just too many factors for you to make the blanket statements you are. At anything north of 20 cents/KWH, pbmining is a better deal than any hardware currently available to the average person. Yeah, if you got the money for the cannons, you can beat that. But for the rest of us, it's a small but nice payout every sunday.
1935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LOOOK for profit!] [TEK] TEKcoin PoS/Pow 40% Stake Interest every 30 days! on: June 30, 2014, 05:33:58 PM
I think the bubble is popping.  Shocked

It will recover, be patient. Cheap TEK now, i like it :-)

i did it.  Kiss

you're welcome. (i have my reasons) lol

What did you do Huh

sold some TEK. and now i'm buying again  Tongue

If you are buying again does that mean the reasons for selling were not because of faith in tekcoin and are personal reasons?

sold to buy stuff, that's all... TEK is still my no1 choice. don't worry, price will rise again

Let me chime in on this:

What raskul did is actually good for the coin in the long run. If all it does is accumulate, sooner or later it will devalue. But when stakeholders sell some to buy stuff, this SUPPORTS the tek ecosystem, and not indirectly. There has not, as yet, been a lot of focus on mercantile acceptance of this coin. This in it's early stages is probably a good thing, as the coin was being developed and distributed. Now, it has value. Its one of the higher valued coins in the crypto world, and unlike a lot of much more hyped coins, it actually works as advertised.

Of course, its more profitable at this point to stake than mine, so that makes it MORE valuable in that we generally don't want to part with it, but eventually it must circulate or be worthless.

EDIT: I see Walkdev ninja'd me Tongue

Anyways, I believe we are doing the right thing with this situation as far as the temporary hold is concerned.  We still need some communicators so if anybody knows Indonesian (and fluent English) please let me know via PM.  If we don't find anyone through here then we may consider finding a professional translator.

I swear no one get hacked of my refferals expect andro3007 he one and only have problem and has ben solved dirrect with me and all has going good , you can check all my refferal all in good way without any issue because just him , only him . I just talked to the victim which you claimed to have paid back. He says you did not pay him back. Can you please PM me the transaction to show that you did?

Don't lies anymore..
But if you really want to return, i will reconsider it to have a win win solution.
I'm still waiting total +/- 0.13 BTC to return please

Androhide, just go to the police with this, you have enough proofs that he stole from you. I don't think that just for the criminal to return the stolen BTC it will make things right. If this would be truth than everybody would been stealing and if they get cought then just return the stolen goods. It doesn't work like that. I wouldn't feel good to know that my GH provider is working with criminals. Please just ban him, cancel all his referals and the GH that he bought donate it to a good cause for the time of contract. He comited fraud and now he must suport the consequences. He belongs in prison!
The problem is that if they do that, without a court order, they are treading unsafe legal ground. My sentiments echo yours, but let's face it: Laws are mainly made by criminals, and if you aren't one yourself, it's very easy to get crosswise. I think they need to reach an agreement acceptable to all parties, and amend their TOS for future intervention if it ever happens again. Not ideal, by any means, but probably pbmining's best option at this time.
