2001  Economy / Economics / Re: Taiwan invasion - how would it affect bitcoin on: February 13, 2022, 07:18:27 PM
And that is why people in Taiwan are in constant fear and have no choice but to rely on other powers just to be able to stand their ground regardless of knowing that they are being taken advantage of. Although this may be a big threat, I really don't think it'll end up in an actual war. The worse would only be a high tension that ALMOST ends up in a war. With how advanced weaponry are today, there is just too much to lose. That is, if the US really sticks into their promises. The preparation of China is just to stike fear hoping that Taiwan would submit.

Although unlikely, I do not disregard the small chance though and if it does happen, I hope it doesn't escalate too much that it ends up in a wide scale world war. Man, that's scary. -buying the dips for prewar though.
Indeed wars are scary but I am surprise that buying at the dip are still on your mind. The only question is how can you do that when you cant connect to the web because towers are destroyed by the wars? I bet you must be panicking that time the moment a real war begins but let us hope that it wont happen. Lots of crisis already hit us from the past and many lives are already lost.

Taiwan might be too weak as a country so they are relying on a much stronger country for help. I do not see that as a big problem and if your on that situation I think you will also think of that. Taiwan invasion will have an effect in bitcoin but the effect can be mild only.
2002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League Thread 2021/2022 on: February 12, 2022, 09:04:52 PM
I think after 9 games without a win i think its time for Reading to finally win a match in front of their fans in this round. If they dont win it will get pretty intense for them to not get relegated. Also Fulham has another easy match against Hull and probobly an easy away win for them.
Looks like Fulham and Bournemouth both are set for return into Premier League as both teams having very good form in last few matches with most other teams at top are struggling Fulham is surely doing best job from start and Mitrovic is top scorer in this league with 31 goals terrific job from this guy.

At bottom, we have very interesting position as Reading fail again and lost match against Coventry with score of 2 - 3 and with this defeat now they have some big trouble for dropping into relegation zone because 6 points already deducted and now with this worst form they are going down and out with other teams are doing their best for having some better spot most chances Derby will have some better chance instead of Reading for survival in this season.
2003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is your take on whatsapp token? on: February 12, 2022, 09:32:56 AM
It's owned by Meta(Facebook).
Honestly, I thought that by now the name change would've been properly effected. Anyway, whatever that's delaying it, only Zuckerberg with his team knows. On the WhatsApp token, I think it's still a far dream. Until those proposing it wake up to pursue it, I'm classing it as the elusive Libra projected muted by Zuckerberg himself. Besides all that, I don't even think WhatsApp is exceptional to draw more attention. If it were to be Telegram, I would've been anxious for it to come to the market. I rate Telegram well above WhatsApp.
This is the second time in this forum that I’m seeing someone creates a thread and talking about WhatsApp coin. I don’t even know how they are getting such information, because there is nothing like that. The only coin that Facebook has ever tried to release, which we all know wasn’t a success, was Libra, which they later named Diem.

But, the project wasn’t a success due to the government never permitted it to happen. Now, Facebook has transitioned to Meta, which we all know today and it has been a trend. So there is nothing about WhatsApp token that is going to take place, because facebook is focused now on their new project which is  the Metaverse.
2004  Economy / Economics / Re: US inflation reached 7% in December as prices rise at rates unseen in decades on: February 11, 2022, 09:20:43 PM
I think they are still waiting for the fuel prices to stabilize before making any serious changes.
The only countries I've read to date about a hike in interest rate are Romania but they are not in the eurozone and they had a higher rate even before the pandemic, and the Czech Republic which is almost in the same scenario, with even higher interest rates but with a lower inflation rate on the horizon.

Right now the biggest influence in inflation is caused here not but money printing but by record oil and gas prices, with higher than usual temperatures, I'm reading 6C on my app while last year it was between -5°/-12° so gas will go down, the oil will surely also go down in spring once the US and Canada completely restart mining activities so part of the problem will be solved.
I doubt both the ECB and national central banks will act prior to Q2/3.
Energy and fuel prices have gone insanely high this year, which is a big problem considering how we are already lacking a lot of proper clean energy so people are getting even dirtier and dirtier energy just to it would go down.

I am afraid that it was already too late for renewable energy, if we had a lot more nuclear, hydro, wind and solar energy all built up, then we wouldn't need any of this, prices of starting one and even storing is insanely high COMPARED to what we used to pay, now looking at the situation, if we spent that money like 10-15 years ago and lost a huge chunk of money and then had a big problem, I could totally see it paying itself already by this time and it would be basically like free right now, not free of course to customer but the initial cost would have been gone.
2005  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin? on: February 11, 2022, 08:50:51 PM
we are consolidating in the $43000 zone and if we manage to consolidate in the $43000 zone for a long time then we will be fine, the price will be strong enough to continue its rise towards $47000 and if we break the $47000 then we will be able to reach $50,000. but we also need to be very careful with the question that if the price drops it could go back to $37000 which would definitely not be good because they could push to $34000
That 43k price really changed so much for all of us, I mean it is a proof that we did alright and went up and now we are not going down that easily. Doesn't mean that we couldn't go under that price ever again but it just means that we are doing fine as it is right now and it would require an extra leg work to make it happen.

This is why I believe that as long as we are doing fine, we should not be really focusing on anything else, a good strong support allows you to put your back against it and go up a lot better, it is a strong going up and not a fake hyped going up so it does really mean a lot more to me than anything else. That is why I am quite happy about it.
2006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the most important features of an online crypto casino? on: February 11, 2022, 08:02:19 PM
Sometimes one of the basis of a gambler (this is based on my own experience and perception) is the number of years that the certain gambling sites existed. I mean, this adds up the credibility of a certain gambling sites but however, I still not set aside to keep on reading reviews of the other gamblers to the site because for that one matters too. We have our own experiences in a certain gambling sites and it's such a good perks to read a honest review that would heads us up to whatever the possible customer complaints issues.
The number of years it existed usually goes hand in hand with a few things and that is why we care about it. If you have been around for lets say 10 years, then it means that we are talking about a place that is fair, no place that is unfair would go that long while being liked, and we are talking about a place with good marketing, no place would be able to go for 10 years and liked without marketing and we are talking about good rewards, good support, good security, good withdrawals and all of that because that is how you survive for 10 years or people would be basically calling you out as a scam way before that if it was a legit place.

So, basically being around for many years includes all of the listed stuff, you do not stay around for that many years without having all of them.
2007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia and central Bank agreed to legalize cryptocurrency as a form of currency on: February 11, 2022, 07:14:40 PM
Another great new in 2022 for the crypto users. I am telling it good because it is good than a full ban about which central bank was thinking.
How can a full ban be good? But, ban is the worst thing that can happen in crypto. This news was good because it talks about the legalization on crypto in Russia. The start of 2022 is gloomy but finally we are now seeing some light as good news starting to appear slowly.

This might be the reason why we are seeing an improvement in the market? People gets motivated again to go back or to continue buying more because they know that more and more countries are soon to support cryptos. Normally a country can legalize crypto in the form of asset but this one in Russia is different as they legalize crypto in the form of currency. Is this the next El Salvador? hmm...
2008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pay for coffee with Bitcoin on: February 11, 2022, 06:19:10 PM
In a third-world African country, Nigeria operated by Female CEO. Hello, friends am from Nigeria a country where government regulation on cryptocurrency is flexible according to the law, the CBN which is the apex central bank warns against the risk involved in it and advise Nigeria to be careful, but Nigeria is one of the highest in terms of cryptocurrency adoption according to statistics. With the decentralized nature of Bitcoin that have Thousands of Nigeria Citizens who have knowledge of blockchain and digital currencies and have adopted it, In December 2022 I launched a campaign among crypto friends to adopt Bitcoin as a mode of payment in our venture and outlets, on 31st of January I open a Coffee shop and the Capital City Abuja for Bitcoin and none Bitcoin customers. This is aimed at promoting Bitcoin adoption and, as a newbie member here, I wish to see your advice and suggestions.
I thought that the government in Nigeria has banned every operations that has to do with cryptocurrency? Because I saw the news, I think that was around last year or two years ago when they were even threatening to close down the accounts of people who were caught making use of cryptocurrency.

So, the only option that is available there now would be peer to peer method of trading and transactions, and I have heard that exchanges like Paxful and Local Bitcoin has been the trend since others that were centralized were banned from operating in the country.
2009  Economy / Economics / Re: Times Change! on: February 11, 2022, 05:15:44 AM
Lesson - if Wikipedia hadn't written off bitcoin as a scam and went ahead to accept it as a form of donation since 2010, alot of people would have donated hundreds of thousands of bitcoins to them back then since bitcoin was almost worth less then, by now, they would have all retired as millionaires and billionaires. And today, they've added bitcoin back as a form of donation, but I will rather donate usd to them than donate my precious bitcoins(my digital gold).
This really made a lot of sense, because if they supported Bitcoin back then I believe that so many people who are Bitcoinists would have donated so many to them as a way to also show support and reward them for the support that they are showing to the Bitcoin community. But, since they have decided not to do that and ended up calling it a scam, then they got what they deserved.

I know that by now they would be wishing that they accepted Bitcoin then, because the amount they would have gotten from then till now could have been worth millions of dollars like you said.
2010  Economy / Economics / Re: Just my own thoughts on: February 11, 2022, 03:06:20 AM
There is a natural competition between bitcoin and fiat, as both are tools to fulfill the same objectives. If you use fiat for a purchase, bitcoin is being left aside, so it's losing territory, what makes fiat stay ahead on this competition. And the opposite also happens. That is, when someone adopts btc and replaces their investments and payments made with fiat previously for bitcoin currency.
It's inevitable this concurrence for hegemony and influence exist in the financial world between fiat and cryptocurrencies. And that is one good reason to explain why many governments' regulators are terrified by bitcoin potential.
That is not the case for me, when it comes to making use of Bitcoin and Fiat I make use of both in positions where I feel they are going to be more useful. For my daily transaction I mostly make use of the Fiat, but when it comes to international transactions, that is when I start to consider making use of crypto currencies.

Because, making use of cryptocurrency for an international transaction means that it would be fast and also have less cost than when I am making use of Fiat or having to go to the bank to fill out lots of papers and pay high fees and also wait for days before the transaction arrives to where I’m sending it to. so it’s up to you the user, there is no competition involved, whatever you feel is best for you that’s what you should do.
2011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 10, 2022, 08:39:15 PM
In my opinion, Australia should not have any problems visiting Pakistan for a tour at the moment because the security looks quite good right now. I'm so nothing has happened during the PSL too. If Australia backs out now I think it will be just a case of overthinking or probably some players being scared. I don't think it should be any problem to tour Pakistan and the Pakistan government should also provide the right security too.
PSL is going without any issue and many foreigners are also enjoying specially from England which is very good sign for all others and recently there were few rumours about two players that these both have some concerns about this tour, and they can pull out of this tour but after having meeting with CA authorities and good communications from Australian Cricketers Association about this tour now these both are also going for this tour atmosphere is good as few Australian legendary players are also praising about this tour because now they are feeling things are much better security is also very improved, so they all can go ahead without any issue.

Good thing Ramiz Raja PCB current Chairman and Prime Minister Imran Khan both have very good ties with few Aussies which are helping for the success of this tour.
2012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain gaming is the way of the future. on: February 10, 2022, 08:27:20 PM
Everyone has boredom at some point. Just because blockchain gaming is currently going mainstream, their market is blowing up because even someone who is not a gamer based will take part in earning, they don't really enjoy the game. If one day the gaming market has receded due to the presence of something else that is more profitable, people will start to leave it and only true gamers will be survive in this industry.
If they got bored they will stop playing but if they have a true passion for games, they will comeback again to play. Type of game is also important for a gamer. Of course, they will get tired for a game that is boring or if the game doesn't keep on updating to add more elements on the game to make the game more exciting.

We have good nft games at the moment, axie for example but many players are complaining for the drop of the slp price and they make this an excuse to stop playing the game. its clear that this people are not true gamer's but they are only in for the hype and for the earnings. Now they are switching to other nft games that value does not drop yet.
2013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I gave 100$ of Bitcoin to my elder brother as a gift on: February 10, 2022, 06:52:51 PM
I would say it is in fact a smart decision to gift your loved ones bitcoin. As now he is aware of the basics, he can use it to earn more profits. You have clearly shown him a good path for his future endeavours.
making Bitcoin a bond of brotherhood and inheritance must be done immediately by anyone, especially those who are in the crypto world, don't be stingy to share bitcoins with relatives, especially when your brother has a difficult economy.
Right it must be done as soon as possible because we don't know if how long we are staying in this world. As long as we are still here, let's continue to find ways of how we can use our BTC to the fullest. If your brothers financial status is not really that healthy, chances are your mother, father and your other siblings have the same status when it comes to their finance.

You should help them next or better if you prioritize your parents because they have done sacrifices when your still a baby and now that they are older, it is time for you to return the favour. Time have changed because before we are using money as a medium to this but its time to level up things.
2014  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Giving Bitcoin to Employees on: February 10, 2022, 05:58:03 PM
Sorry --- the employees will retain their fiat pay checks.

The intent is to give them BTC for future savings and growth.  Since there likely isn't much of a return for employees in the future with traditional pensions, perhaps they will have better luck with the growth of BTC they personally hold for the long term.
So that the reason on why you do concluded out on this kind of decision? Have you consider out on asking them if they would really be prepared on accepting something like that?

You wouldnt know unless you do try and speaking about future savings and growth then we do know the potential neither those employee of yours whether they do really accept
the risk or not.

Neither they could have it on their personal wallets or something that you do recommend on.
Given the option, everyone would pick the money in their pocket right now, so that they could decide on what they could invest into. If they want bitcoin then they would do it anyway, if they want something else then they will do something else. If however you "force" them by simply giving it, then there is nothing that you are taking away at all.

You are simply giving something extra and that is fine if you ask me. If my boss told me "everything will stay the same, I will just add bitcoin pension on top of it all" then I would accept it without a heartbeat, not like there is anything to accept since it is all free. So, the method is the important one, not giving choice part.
2015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Overthink Potential of Bitcoin on: February 10, 2022, 04:32:32 PM
Government had played soft with bitcoin for a long time and the news this morning that the US government hold $3.6 billiion is just damn to bullish on the long term. Bitcoin is more of an SOV, very few use cases but a guaranteed digital asset with low risk as long as you hold. Bitcoin is no more a discovery, it more than an invention and adoption cant be controlled anymore.
They are doing that play style because they knew that they can get benefit with bitcoin. They don't ban it directly, instead they allow it but they put some restrictions. That's surprising that USA government is joining the bitcoin game? What we thought all the time is USA are allergic with bitcoins but the amount of bitcoins they hold is impressive. I wont call it bullish because I do not know if what rate they bought their btc's and btc is volatile, the value can go down even on long term so no the risk is not low but it can be bigger the more money you put in. Bitcoin is both a discovery and invention. Adoption on the other hand can be controlled by the governments .
2016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League & 1. League 2021/22 Season on: February 09, 2022, 09:31:26 PM
Even though I can say you are sort of right about self-confidence, I also agree with lixer. Galatasaray built terrible roster, mainly because they think last year's team is functioning and good enough so they only got some players to fix specific positions. But it failed. Only because players from last year are literally terrible. Fenerbahçe did it better renewing squad.
Unfortunately Fatih Terim has always been known to get his kind of players and he was never good at roster engineering. I do not remember too many times he found a gem for cheap that turned out to be a great player, he always spends money on local players who are not good enough and pay a lot for them and almost always turns out to be not enough of a player. Right now Galatasaray have players that we could have seen from anatolian clubs usually, or even second division (named first ironically).

So, with a new management, new manager, and new players, in a few years there is nothing stopping them from becoming the best team again, but it will take a while before that happens.
2017  Economy / Economics / Re: India's 30% tax on income from digital asset on: February 09, 2022, 09:32:42 AM
There's one positive thing about this that now government is thinking of taking tax which indirectly implies that it's fine for traders and investors to trade in cryptocurrency and the fear of a complete ban on all trades and holding crypto is gone by huge amount. But the tax is a bit too high? Seems so, the clarifications are not very transparent either, maybe I didn't read them in details yet but I think for many, that if the tax is 30% on profit, which means one gets to keep 70% profit which might be fine, specially those who are having huge amount invested since gains on crypto are lots higher when they get up and in the bull market but middle class traders will pay a lot of price and many might quit trading in crypto, all we need is now to wait and see how the regulation is implemented Smiley
being taxed but crypto is now allowed is better than not being tax and no cryptos at all at least they can still earn something and experience if what is using cryptos feels like. Almost all of us here have the same impression about the percentage put on tax, it was too high and this hurts a lot for a small time traders and investors but then again they do not have no choice but to accept it  because at least crypto is now legal on their country.

I wonder why rules like this only happens on a much poorer countries like India but on other countries where i say a bit more wealthy, they do not implement taxes yet on cryptocurrencies. Oh well, let's hope for the greater good on those countries.
2018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Painting is now NFT on: February 09, 2022, 04:52:28 AM
I have made it with hard work.
Check it out. And comment.
How is it?
I checked the link and was it the NFT your offering, the one in as short video? Or it was only a preview but your offering a non video NFT? In the video it shows a finish product but I am expecting a footage where you are doing the actual work. You better add that kind of preview because that can gain confidence to a buyer that the painting are really made from scratch by you. The painting looks simple and your pricing is too expensive, it is 10 eth?

I think you should lower this a bit like 0.5 eth or lower than that. Sorry if this is too low for you but I think that is only its worth for now but who knows maybe it got popular and the demand will get higher. That's the time to up their price.
2019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League & 1. League 2021/22 Season on: February 09, 2022, 02:33:46 AM
Galatasaray's performance in this match was very poor. I was happy if Alanyaspor won this match. Galatasaray is an experienced team and their defense is good enough so they were able to draw the match and not concede more goals. But throughout the match I liked the performance of Alanyaspor's players. They have been able to attack more than that in Galatasaray. If Juanfran had not received the red card, they might have won the match.
Honestly the roster galtasaray has is not even close to being enough to compete in this league. Which is mind boggling considering they have spent so much money to build this roster. I do not know what they were thinking and how they did it, but they somehow managed to spend more than most teams and still build a roster that is worse than most teams.

Mismanagement is definitely something that have been bugging them for a few years now, and the roster they have is just beyond stupid, something that we could build in Football Manager with the same funds would have been a lot better than this if you ask me. In any case, we could see them at least getting a point after many weeks, that is an "improvement" for them to say the least, but not enough at all.
2020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 08, 2022, 05:35:51 PM
In barcelona messi was more of a winger. He wasn't the main stricker, i think messi was more pronounced in barcelona because he had a good team mate who played a 1,2 game style. If you watch closely Barca don't hold on to ball for too long, no much time to dribble except in cases of close marking. But in PSG every player wants to be the main point of contact and this is why they keep struggling despite having star players
Barcelona and PSG completely different clubs and have nothing common, so we can't compare these both Barcelona is really classical and have completely different environment and here in PSG they are along in best finances and having too many advantages in French League.

But, Barcelona having too many challenges recently they have done amazing job come from behind and now staying at fourth with having good chance to jumping into third, but we are talking about style of play which is also really great at Barcelona and PSG is mostly having few players those love to do things individually which is hurting them very badly with this mind and approach they are fail to have good winning combination despite having too many world-class players in their squad which can bring some lethal combination for many big teams but need change of mind set and better planning.
