2261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best Cryptocurrency Memories. on: September 25, 2018, 09:03:07 PM
The Doge pump was cool but I really really didn't know what I was doing yet...

The AURoracoin pump was a sight to behold, and I knew enough at the time to take advantage of it..

The first BIG UNB pump was amazing, I was such a naive shill cheerleader at the time though, lol.. Just after the GAW happening..

O I almost forgot Paycoin (xpy?)! I was THERE for the $20 "floor" happening and killed it on the wild spread immediately after the $20 buy wall disappeared.. I was THERE and witnessed that happening..

Some guy got a bunch of XPY on the gaw exchange site for like 1 satoshi each and made a killing dumping them later, when they first opened trading it for the gift cards thing.. He got them off the exchange in time before they rolled it back..

The early Darkcoin pumps were really something.. They should never have changed it to DASH.. DRK ftw
All the hype when darksend first came out, I even downloaded the wallet and tried it out, lol..
Damn I should check that old wallet and see if I forgot some DRK on it!

I watched in awe at BTCs bottom after the $1200 ATH..

Those were the days!

ICOs ruined it all?
I hated the brand new shitcoins like sprouts already and then ICOs happened..

Cryptsy fell. I was THERE for the whole thing and ARBed the hell out of it exiting with coins like UNO..
Cryptsy falling is what brought me to Bitcointalk..

I think almost all of my best crypto memories are Cryptsy memories when I was a green newb..

Ofcourse I was here for the $20k BTC pump but that doesn't seem long enough ago to be "memories" yet..

Here I am trying to start from the beginning again

Learn how to secure your account and not get phished..
Make sure you learn up on what things you should not do around here so you don't get a negative trust. Forum etiquette..
Learn the forum rules so you don't do something stupid and get banned..

Good luck
2262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Become a Crypto Detective | Expert Blockchain Analyst | Limited availability on: September 25, 2018, 05:14:31 PM
The Founder of YuTuCoin is about the best scam detective on the forum. I'll send him a link to this and see what he has to say..
2263  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your crypto personality? (Facebook users only) on: September 25, 2018, 05:08:49 PM
I got Winklevosses but the quiz is all about stuff relating to ICOs that I don't do..

Like the question "What is the biggest problem in crypto" I would answer that ICOs themselves are the biggest problem but I could only choose "scams", but almost all ICOs are scams so that felt close..
2264  Other / Meta / Re: List of demoted Jr. Members who were ranked up again on: September 25, 2018, 04:52:16 PM
I saw this yesterday when it was 10 miles long and the first thing I noticed is that Mark was online yesterday (now day before yesterday)..
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2134
But still hasn't posted since 2013.. Maybe that is usual for him but I thought it was interesting..

I didn't want to post it then because it's OT a bit and I wasn't sure if you were done and didn't want to stick a post into the middle of your OP posts if you weren't done yet etc..
But I'll post my OT comment now, hope you don't mind..

Back on topic, I'm not sure if requiring a single 1 merit is going to have the desired effect..
Instead of bumping it to 5 or 10 as many suggest, I think it would be funny to bump it up by 1 like every month to make them scramble over and over again..
2265  Other / Meta / Re: So I've Become a Merit Source... Need Some Advice on: September 25, 2018, 04:34:38 PM
theymos suggested that I'd give merits to some newbies in the forum who make good posts

He specifically mentioned trying to find newbies to you? That is interesting..

I have also been trying to find good newbies to merit and it has not been easy.. I don't have/get all that many smerits and even with the few I have I have not been able to completely dump them on deserving newbies, so I have a few in stock. The ones that especially deserve it are hard to find, probably because they have already got merit since they are good posters. Maybe 1 in 50, if not less, newbie accounts deserve a merit to become a junior and haven't gotten one yet, after looking at their post histories..

Maybe my standards are a bit too stiff (or not?) but I have only been able to bring myself to merit 7-8 newbies or so since the mass derank happening..
You could look at my sent merit history, but I don't know if they deserve more merit than the one I gave them. By definition if they have received a merit then they are no longer newbies so their is that hangup too.. You aren't going to find newbies in sent merit histories of anyone because they cannot exist..

Even if I find a newbie account that makes good posts and knows what they are talking about, it makes me wonder what happened to their old account..
they are probably red tagged or some shit and starting over from a new account..

I like the ones that I can tell are real newbies from their first posts, and ask good questions they actually want the answers to..

Other than newbies, I think I prefer to give my few smerits to lower ranked accounts that actually need it, where they will mean the most to the person..

I don't know if you can find an easy way to give merits to deserving merit virgin newbs, but just giving merits away to whatever posts you like and want to see more of is probably pretty easy, much easier than trying to find rare deserving newbs..
2266  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you want to know why the Electric Cars production is growing? on: September 24, 2018, 10:00:52 PM
It makes me think I should make a silly contraption and call it a "free energy generator" so I can get myself 8.5 million views..

This thing is obviously not a free energy generator because he is using a powered electric motor to move a magnetic field between the speakers..

I don't see what it has to do with electric cars, other than if the popularity of the video somehow relates to the the interest in electricity and therefor interest in electric cars..

In that case, I can see the watchers of this video, if they really believe this is a free energy generator, would be just the suckers to buy electric cars..
2267  Other / Meta / Re: How recognized are you in the bitcointalk world? on: September 24, 2018, 07:59:33 PM
Here are some of my previous works..

We'll tokenize the trading cards by creating a Ethereum smart contract and a shiny ICO to go with it!

Errrr.... You could do it on Bitcoin with Counterparty..

This Bitcoin signed message proves that I created the above assets, how many of them I still own, others I own, and my trade history on the Counterparty Decentralized Exchange, all on the Bitcoin blockchain. eddie13 9/24/2018

I'm not much of an artist but I think this stuff is pretty nifty and fun..

If a smart coder made a copy of this...  rarepepewallet.com/

Then we could all make our own card, register our own assets, list them on the DEX, buy/sell/trade with eachother, and send eachother cards to our BTC addys..
Pretty much just copy that project..
That site also functions as the DEX, you can place your DEX orders from the site..

2268  Economy / Reputation / Re: Negative trust for an opinion? on: September 24, 2018, 06:21:23 PM
I believe you cannot have an opinion that the sun emits purple light.

But the sun most certainly does emit purple light..

https://www.quora.com/Does-sunlight-have-a-white-color-Or-is-it-a-mixture-of-different-colors-wavelengths

It's just that it also emits all the other colors too, and therefore appears to be white..

First proven by Sir Isaac Newton..
Quote
Newton had proved that white light was made up of colors mixed together, and the prism merely separated them - he was the first person to understand the rainbow.

Wink

But the earth is clearly round and you would have to be absolutely off your rocker to believe otherwise..
2269  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever been hacked on a crypto trading platform? (share your experience) on: September 24, 2018, 03:42:37 PM
OP is a somewhat well disguised shill for this bbod .io site..
If you look at his posts, half of them are to mention it in some way..

Often newbies posting links like this are an attempt to scam or hack but this bbod may be legit?
If anything it is an advertisement..

Yes I have has the emails rain in warning me of attempts to access some of my accounts I think because they got my email address in the Bitcointalk hack and then tried getting into exchanges with it..  It seems they waisted a lot of effort trying to get into a c-cex account of mine that I never used anyway, lol..

I'm not using that email for exchanges anymore..

I have a ton of exchange accounts, all empty until I decide to use them, if ever..
Whenever I fund an exchange account of mine I change the password to a new unique strong password and use 2FA sometimes when I plan to leave funds there for a long time or play with a larger amount of funds..
2270  Other / Meta / Re: sMerit participants – a worrying descending trend (!/?) on: September 23, 2018, 08:18:43 PM
<Serves no purpose other than to halve (1/2) the amount of smerits that could possibly be sent to new/periodic participants..
I'm pretty sure I can get my source sMerits increased if I manage to spend them all, so I see no reason not to send them to higher ranks. In the past days, I've emptied my source sMerits for the first time ever, I now have 345 sMerits "of my own" to distribute, and if I ever manage to do that, I'll PM theymos and ask to increase my source amount.

People send you plenty, more than enough, don't they?
Not only are they halved, they are sitting in surplus..

I don't mean at all to say you don't "deserve" them, because you posts and work are awesome..
Just pointing out the deflation aspect, and this particular case is just an example..
2271  Other / Meta / Re: sMerit participants – a worrying descending trend (!/?) on: September 23, 2018, 07:51:11 PM
<Thread about descending merit participants..
<Talking about Maxing out merits given from one legendary source to another, long time consistent merit participants, and their alts..
<Serves no purpose other than to halve (1/2) the amount of smerits that could possibly be sent to new/periodic participants..
2272  Other / Meta / Re: Announcing the 🦊 Vulpine Order of Merit 🦊 on: September 23, 2018, 07:35:54 PM
Wow, you sure give a lot of merit to legendary merit sources who don't need it....

...

You had me at WD-40 though. I do buy that stuff by the gallon..
Lucky Jet Cash snagged it.. I'd be a buyer at about $10 a gallon if you want to liquidate some of that fine liquid you have there Wink
2273  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: If you're still in crypto, what's your background? on: September 23, 2018, 04:16:25 PM
I turn wrenches, fix, maintain, or improve about anything with moving parts. I have also operated some pretty impressive machines at some "jobs" I have had and I have some certifications and licences for stuff and things..

I'm self employed half of the time doing whatever. I'm not much of a 9-5 guy..
I either like to be a 3:30AM to 8:00PM kind of guy, or an on my own time kind of guy..
2274  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] Members who support newbies - Thanks! on: September 23, 2018, 03:47:16 PM
Some of the ranks are not quite correct for some of the members. For instance  - I ain't no Hero.  Grin

Because..

- the rank that is based on the amount of merits regardless of the current activity

And you have hero merits..
2275  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 23, 2018, 03:30:08 PM
^^
Even didn’t noticed a DUMP , Thats the fine thing of Going out with coiners ..... Just No BTC talks and No price watching  Grin
Kinda strange .... haha

I don't have a single RL bitcoin friend. There are only coinless peasants around me and its hell trying to talk to them about crypto without them telling you why its not going to work or how its a ponzi scheme. So for me its either being friendless or homocide. But the second option is extremely tempting...

That's similar to how it was for me too, when BTC was like $300.. I always explained it to friends but never tried hard to get them to buy, told them that they could make money or lose it all, nobody bought any..

Now the price is $6.5k or whatever and they are all should'a could'a would'a "I wish I had bought when you told me about it" etc..
Especially when it was climbing from like $3k and up...

I have no IRL crypto friends either..  The third option is just wait and in the future when the price is 10X-20X or whatever from here, you shall be vindicated..

just wanted to show off one of my girls

Beautiful. Good job!

All this excitement about a couple hundred $ movement in BTC.. It still hasn't broken out of its gently tapering in channel yet.. It's staying tight right in there, but can't forever..
2276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 23, 2018, 02:40:58 AM
A piece of a photo from this morning.  Can you identify the subject? More to come.
Derp... probably far too easy. But bitcoin isn't moving.

Crystals, almost ripe for harvest, no amber yet..
2277  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTS] looking for buyers willing to pay a premium on: September 23, 2018, 01:16:44 AM
They aren't going to an exchange due to slippage.

So you think that your liquidity is high enough to beat the exchange price even with your "premium"?
Such large trades that they will get a better deal at your premium as opposed to the slippage they would encounter at an exchange on top of spot rate?

How much premium % are you talking?
I would like to know so I can go calculate how much BTC would have to be traded with a market order in one slam to make your premium the better deal, because slippage..
2278  Other / Meta / Re: The bitcointalk academy awards - best shit-poster fables to obtain merit on: September 22, 2018, 09:01:36 PM
Hi thanks for all your response specially to high rank , I post this  because I want to have atleast 1 merit thanks for your support Smiley

I post this just to have merit so that if you think that my Post is helpful you can free to send me some merit because of this  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.0
Thanks for Helping me Smiley

You think they'd research how to get merits a bit, then maybe they'd know better than to directly beg..
2279  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 22, 2018, 03:58:47 AM
whales

Whales = the composite operator

Quote
Wyckoff, “The market is made by the mind of man, and all the fluctuations of the market and all the various stocks should be studied as if they were the result of one man’s operations. Let us call him the Composite Operator, who, in theory, sits behind the scenes and plays a stock to his advantage."

we should consider all market activity as a purposeful operation in which informed interests exert continuing control over stocks and the market. These large interests, such as banks, mutual funds, investment trusts, hedge funds, specialists, and position traders are best thought of as a Composite Operator.

Wyckoff, “imagine a super investor. How would that person handle the situation that is before you? What would that person look like? How would that person feel? What state of mind would your superior investor be in to deal with the situation confronting you?"
http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/trading/composite-operator.html
Quote
Wyckoff felt that an experienced judge of the market should regard the whole story that appears on the tape as though it were the expression of a single mind. He felt that it was an important psychological and tactical advantage to stay in harmony with this omnipotent player. By striving to follow his footsteps, Wyckoff felt we are better prepared to grow our portfolios and net-worth.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Wyckoff

I often like to think of it is the entire market is out to get me. Me against one entity, the composite operator..
I think about it as if I were the composite operator, how would I try to trick me out of my satoshis on the exchange, with bull traps, bear traps, fake walls, fake volume etc.
What would I do to trick the little guy out of his money?

Like 4D chess..

2280  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 21, 2018, 06:44:03 PM

I understand that you are going to be way more profitable than me
I wouldn't say that..

When I first got into bitcoin, I wanted to make sure that I felt comfortable about having various BTC exiting strategies
I always believed I could cash out if I wanted and never did for a long time..
But, the GF has now admitted that she wasn't as sure of this prospect as she is now that she has seen it with her own eyes once, in muh bank..

Seems that from your own stated practice that you might profit from using bots yourself.
I personally don’t trust bots

I think it would be easy for me to tell a bot where to put orders for any given condition, but I can't imagine programming a bot to look for and react to all the conditions that are a flag in my mind.. I'm not even sure I could consciously describe some sets of events that mean things to me in a market..

seems to me that you play BIG

Not so much with a big amount of capital, but quite big volume and amount of trades compared to the capitol I choose to trade with..

Personally, it seems that increasing the amounts has to come incrementally and with work

I find that the more capital I'm trying to trade with, the more I have to move to larger markets and compete with bigger and smarter opponents..
%s are much easier for me to make trading on small markets against dumb money but then I can only trade with insignificant capital and make insignificant profit..

My hang up is trying to trade with more significant capital to make more significant profits..
