2381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you read the TOS of a gambling site? Honest answer please. on: October 16, 2020, 11:20:04 AM
I do 90% of the time. There are cases I just rely on how long the casino has been and on the reviews by members.

I'm not sure why but it looks like gamblers are more into reading Terms and Conditions of casinos compared to traders on centralized exchanges. If you notice in the gambling section, it's the first thing that always brought up whenever a new casino launches here especially the KYC, deposit/withdrawal, and license part (it could be because of sig campaigns too).
2382  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKex Suspends Withdrawls on: October 16, 2020, 10:52:31 AM
~
Its looks like another exit scam of an exchange .hopefully not,  How come his been arrested but still have time to disable the account . something fishy with that if that was  true you don't need to disable one of your social media  accounr this is another way to contact you personally by the people know you . not unless you are hiding something that you don't want to get caught.
I doubt it's an attempt to exit scam. The scenario would have been the private key holder/s running away with the funds which forces the shut down of the exchange, the customers filing a class suit, then police officers going after them.

About the deletion of account, there's probably a hired PR that handles his social media. It was probably done to hide incriminating evidences.

Another tweet that supports the money laundering angle

#okex first stated withdrawal will be suspended 15PM but quickly changed to 11AM. Rumor has it that over 800 accs in "certain" exchange are involved with cross-border money laundering
^ Comes with photos but the letters are in Korean or Chinese (I don't know). Visit the tweet if you can understand it.
2383  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKex Suspends Withdrawls on: October 16, 2020, 10:01:31 AM
There's probably another case of money laundering or something that's unrelated to OKex operation. What's weird though is that the other private key holder went dark on OKex.

Quote
One of our private key holders is currently cooperating with a public security bureau in investigations where required.
"Cooperating" is a nice way to put it but I'm guessing he was arrested somewhere and just informed the office of what happened.

Another case that reminded of that member who said keeping funds on top exchanges is better than keeping it in your wallet because they earn rewards  Grin
2384  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 Pitibet.io ⭐ SPORTS BETTING | NEW SPORTSBOOK 🏀 ⚾ 🏈 🎾 🥊 on: October 15, 2020, 02:27:02 PM
Welcome to the Bitcointalk!

Let's discuss some parts of your Terms and Conditions

In one of the photos in the OP, it says "No KYC" but in the T&C, it's asking for personal information if withdrawal is above 1 BTC.
Quote
Player Identification Requirements
Player accepts that all withdrawals that exceed 1 Bitcoin or to the equivilent value of any other cyrypto currency, it is possible that will be required to verify their identity.

Player accepts that we have the right to carry out ‘KYC’ (Know Your Customer) verification procedures and access to your account may be blocked or closed if we determine that you have supplied false or misleading information.

Players accept that they will provide accurate information and accept that they may be asked to provide details such as any the following:

Current address
Date of Birth
Email Address
Phone Number
Passport Details
Keypass Details
Photographic Evidence
Utility Bill
Drivers License
pitibet.io also reserves the right to use other public information services to confirm a member’s identity.

The Player accepts that they may have their account suspended if their information cannot be verified within 90 days of such information being requested.

In the T&C, you mentioned something about restricted jusrisdictions but you never mentioned which countries you forbid. How will you know or how will you identify players from countries that prohibits online sports betting, gambling and gaming?

It's always nice to see when a new site is active. However, I cannot find any company details, nor is a gambling license anywhere to be found.
Can you tell us a bit more about this? From which country do you have a license, or do you not have a license at all?
I don't think they have one. I'm guessing they didn't bother because it's a 100% crypto casino.
2385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Anyone betting on "Electronic Leagues"? on: October 15, 2020, 01:45:28 PM
I just noticed this NBA Cyber on Bitsler while checking on upcoming basketball games to bet on. I have no idea how these games are played. I thought it's supposed to be under Esports because of the words "electonic" or "cyber". Is this the game called NBA2K?

2386  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When You trade Do You use VPN? on: October 15, 2020, 01:12:00 PM
I tried to use a VPN before when I am using Bitmex to trade. Because in our office before, there are some website restrictions that you cannot access, you can't browse some websites so I needed to use VPN just to access Bitmex website and I will able to trade while I am in the office.
Wait what?! How can you even trade while working?

Isn't it pointless to use a VPN for privacy reasons and then trade on centralized exchanges? We know they can always ask for verification anytime they want. You might be okay trading for a while with small amounts but you'll be forced to submit sooner or later.

You are better off trading on decentralized exchanges like bisq, uniswap or whatever swap it's called in other blockchains.
2387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Metamask's newest addition. on: October 15, 2020, 12:22:57 PM
Yeah, it was the very first thing that pop up when I logged in to my Metamask wallet earlier today. Good addition. I wonder what would be next for them, Metamask token?

~ However, I do have doubts that whenever you will going to access metamask wallet only requires your password so this maybe not really secured especially on phishing activities.
If you get phished, that's on you and not on Metamask's security. It's your responsibility to always check that you download the wallet from the official website and that you don't enter your private key/seed phrase in random/fake websites.

Helloo, where can I see your pre-match prediction? I don't know if I missed it but I can only see the result of your prediction.
I think he posts some of his picks and analysis then later edits for the result. Check this thread every day.

@JanpriX are you not going to bet at the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup? I would like to see your analysis on that as well and most probably follow your picks.
2389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 15, 2020, 10:38:38 AM
@bisdak40 @harizen @Maslate Thanks for all the info.

I wasn't even aware that Fajardo hasn't recovered from his shin injury yet. Standhardinger would have been very useful at times like this if he wasn't traded. Chances for a six-peat for the Beermen has been cut to half I guess. Still a strong roster though.

What's happening with RoS? I wasn't expecting it to be at the middle of the table based on the odds.

Funny experience today while I was searching for PBA website. Instead of basketball, I visited the bowling page. I thought it was pba.com  Grin
2390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Former P&O Cruise Ship now named 'Satoshi' on: October 14, 2020, 05:25:17 PM
A few clueless noobs don't have any idea what they are talking about.
Elwar https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=554 is a truly respected forum contributor and bitcoin early adopter who deserves a bit of respect. He's clearly putting his money where his mouth is since he is fighting hard to gain his financial sovereignty and freedom.
I can't de-merit you, otherwise I would.
Admittedly, I don't have any idea about this man until this news but I went on to search and read who he is before posting.

Don't demerit me  Grin

Thanks for the profile link btw, I see he's a long time WO Gang. Damn, he's been actively posting about his cruise ship here days before this news.

Anyone interested with auction and other details can follow this thread - crypto cruise ship
2391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 14, 2020, 04:57:38 PM
More promotions for UFC fight night Ortega vs TKZ.

Watch the top finishes video and you'll notice similarities of the two fighters. Both of them could finish an opponent on the feet and submit on the ground. TKZ looks to have the better overall game though (including defense). I don't like how Ortega just walks down his opponent with his hands down. I don't know how he's improved after Max thought him a lesson.

Ring rust and the fact that we don't don't know how Ortega will bounce back after the his first loss makes me think twice to betting on him.

2392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Former P&O Cruise Ship now named 'Satoshi' on: October 14, 2020, 04:27:16 PM
So this is what a bitcoin whale should be huh? Own a Cruise Ship and name it Satoshi with BTC logo on it.

~ It is not entirely clear to me why this ship should be renamed to Satoshi. This ship has nothing to do with either the world of crypto technologies or the identity of the creator of bitcoin. Looks like a regular publicity stunt to attract the attention of a new clients.
I think there's more to it than a publicity stunt. The CEO of Ocean Builders is a bitcoin trader who literally lives on the sea (15 miles off the coast of Thailand). It makes sense to venture in business that's also floating don't you think?

You can find more information about the man here

Odds for tomorrow's game from Bitsler:

^ I'd like to know long time PBA followers opinions/picks for the game. It's been a while since I gambled on PBA and I feel like I lost my touch  Grin

Who is/are the favorite team/s to win the Filipino Cup this year btw? I have no update of the latest transfers/acquisition/injuries for each team.
2394  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: GAAP accounting? on: October 14, 2020, 03:15:03 PM
Have you tried checking your national Accounting authorities and SEC? They probably launched a memorandum on how to treat digital assets already. If none, you can follow the AICPA guidelines shared by @CryptoSites. They will most likely adopt the same rules when they finally issue local accounting standards.
2395  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥Sportbook and Casino: BITSLER > $10,000 DAILY Wagering contest < on: October 14, 2020, 02:43:19 PM
I tried to make bets on the Bitsler sports today but I felt like there is a key feature missing which is the cashout option for bets because in today's time sportsbet.io have this feature and even stake.com has this feature so I really wonder why Bitscler is not having that option just yet.

If someone is not aware of what a cashout is, basically as we make sports bets we get an option to cash out our bets before the result according to how the current odds are doing.
Give it time. Although I have no plans to change bets once I've placed it, I still like this feature to be implemented too. This could save me some money one day

~ for example you bet on Djokovic vs Nadal
Great example! You just reminded me of my losses in the FO 2020 Grin

Pardon my ignorance but if we're to use other sports say basketball, will it be per quarter? If baseball, per inning? If football, per half?

~ to be honest this is the first time I heard about features like you mentioned
Same here. The way it was explained, it actually sounded like setting up a stop loss when trading.

I'm wondering why my "favorited" (gold stars) sports disappears the next time I log in. Is that a cookie thing? Not much of a big deal but still...

also Eragon clear 1st Deposit Bonus (100% bonus from your deposit without DAILY WAGERING REQUIREMENT) under 4 hours with profits around 1.4 BTC yesterday.
Come and play $20 welcome bonus for new user is waiting for you.
Please clarify this. Is this the same as the October 100% first deposit bonus promo? I was wondering because I just read the terms and it says a player needs to wager the bonus amount 55X within 15 days.

I love that the $20 welcome deposit bonus is back. No exact information when it will last, I'm assuming it will be until Oct. 31?

~
I love the fact that the chat still looks same haha I just love that feel and makes me recall my old days when I used to bet a lot and had a lot of bitcoins in hand and now after I have stopped gambling I will at least play once tonight to recall my old days for sure.
I remember that time when I was offered some special bonus if I was an old timer there. I would have taken that but I was new. Maybe you could talk to the owner in the chat and get the same offer. You have to prove that you're an old timer with a signed message though.
2397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Protesters in Nigeria used Bitcoin as alternative of banks as CBN blocked accts. on: October 13, 2020, 05:53:48 PM
So how exactly are they going to convert them to fiat and buy necessities or use the funds for bail? Through LBC/Binance? Any idea how many establishments accepts/deals with bitcoin?

~ This might not seem much for the global crypto community, but it's a huge win for the Nigerian crypto community on and off this forum. The citizens of Nigeria are beginning to realize that the crypto is the future and would help drive its adoption.
looking at the other side of the coin, this will put bitcoin in a bad light again. IIRC, it was only a few years ago when Nigerian Central Bank banned transactions in BTC. What are the odds that they'll move for another ban?
2398  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥Sportbook and Casino: BITSLER > $10,000 DAILY Wagering contest < on: October 13, 2020, 05:07:15 PM
Hi Bitsler, I just created an account in your sportsbook, I put my bet on the Philippine Basketball Association, Filipino cup and I was surprise there's no live betting, what's probably the reason for this, last conference there's a live betting, it's just only now that there's no offer.
I did not even notice there's a PBA in there. Thanks for bringing it up. I have not been following up our local basketball league but, now that NBA is over, I'll sure bet in the next games after getting familiar with the teams again.

@Bitsler, you will probably see more Filipino bettors like me if you provide more betting options like what @Vaculin is asking.
2399  Economy / Gambling / Re: CryptoBet Casino -Play your favorite games with crypto currency ! on: October 13, 2020, 04:50:21 PM
Not much traffic from Bitcointalk, This is why we are silent. But we are not scammers!
Is this suppose to be your response about your discontinued registration in Curacao? Are you not suppose to handle your legal papers regardless if you have web traffic from Bitcointalk or not? Your website is still up and I assume you still continue to operate but illegally. You continue to accept deposits even if  you're not licensed to do so.
2400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Long time deposit in Bibox with REP on: October 12, 2020, 05:29:36 PM
What exactly is that "trouble" that the Bibox support said to you?

I checked CMC to find out what this REP is all about and I saw a message there about a migration from REP to REPV2 or Augur V2. That's probably related to the issue Bibox is having right now. Smaller exchanges tend to have longer time to update changes in contract address or migrations to mainnet.

About the time it takes, only Bibox can give you an answer. From my past experiences with other exchanges, sometimes wallet maintenance takes a month or even more depending on the difficulty or on their agreement with the coin/token developer.
