If I'm not mistaken, Ledger Wallet performs a hardware and software check upon first boot. If this can be tampered with, I don't know.
In my opinion, the best hardware wallet is still something that isn't usually used as a wallet but can be re-purposed for such. Although it can also be tampered with, it won't be targeted as much for Bitcoin related things.
It should be possible to audit the hardware at home... but I don't see that being an easy task for a regular Joe.

Easy: it's decentralized and allows me to truly own my money while securely storing it

Now that's a very good use of a strong image!

Are they sure it's all Greek users? Anyways, this report seems more credible. I wouldn't be surprised if the price changes aren't only made by whales in the last few days...

This is just absurd... how come freshly mined coins are different? I wouldn't even pay extra for the coins on Satoshi's addresses. Come on... I bet this will only cheat folks that are new around. just the other day, a new member was asking if freshly mined coins are worth more, and now this. Huge lol.

In what will DigaTrade differ from Bit-X? Seems a bit redundant to me...

So, I was AFK and only noticed this now... Sent 2 transactions from an SPV wallet 2 hours ago, I hope they confirm normally. At least the forking issue seems to be no more... And there we have it, folks SPV mining. Amazing I hope everyone starts taking this seriously and start validating blocks. It's of everyone's best interest to keep the blockchain healthy. I thought miners were aware of that, but apparently not. Quickly relaying blocks isn't going to give them profit, validating blocks and keeping the blockchain running smoothly is, I hope they learned it this time.

I highly doubt he wanted to have any involvement in cryptocurrency development after the boom of Bitcoin... But this is just speculation, just as the first post He is probably a simple person, an engineer, he doesn't live of "glamour and fashion", neither from popularity. He lives from ideas and ideals (and this one is certain: otherwise he wouldn't have bothered in designing and writing Bitcoin). Who knows? He might be around the forums Or not.

Only now noticed 0.6.1 and with it the Mobile Miner shutdown. Unfortunate that they have to shut down. Although it's true that home mining is decreasing, many people still do it, and I bet professional miners used their service... It's pretty useful to have their widget and quickly check if everything is fine.
Anyways, going to update minera now, thank you for developing this great tool!!

I'd like to correct that the order of shipping will not be in the same order as the orders came in originally. We're shipping country / area at a time due to logistics issues.
The packages and postage technicalities are the same for a certain country/area so this allows us to package them all quicker. If we shipped randomly to different countries it would slow things down overall quite a bit, since there are big differences shipping wise country to country.
I see, it's perfectly understandable, it's probably easier to ship to folks around your wearhouses first And some estimates would be nice, when you have them

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Hey everyone! I know you must be as excited as I am to see these coins to be shipped out! It's important to get those into circulation to grow the interest and show legitimacy to the international community, who are not so familiar with our company as Finnish customer base is. I just asked more coin and shipping letter porn from our production team, I'll post those pics here as soon as I receive those myself. During the phone call I just had with the production team I got a hint that they might be able to ship some orders as early as TOMORROW. So far over 1500 coins have been produced, so we are well done for the preorders. Order more to get our hands busy https://denarium.com/Thank you, Roni Blomberg Denarium.com / Prasos Oy -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Comment: GPGTools - https://gpgtools.orgiQIcBAEBCgAGBQJVlT8wAAoJEH9Ni/Dvvk1/6jEP/RNOmsvUxfkAW3bIiWKCSvj6 CEm3Q+toR4HHuVrlVFjgX0IOFJHZqf8eIZC1m406g60NzzJCmVPLq24lRHfqBo00 pZPeZwQDlPc3/QpH1kIOh5ETQuEcXghS7vn1hZNm1TxE7sR7nKO/cBsOmvAiG+lu Lnr7SOMeaGlD6XDe8DQJPYO+6SKhHJhKCjLzgEfc/s2SfKDoG8yZPGbAbcJ6+yLM 9tHBSDhHBYZQO9ZaWlmiTgEJNa8+t66I7TYP7DMz9KLjTodfoS1rdp3SjBCYO18f WLd2Z+BLdMjftFSksvifMU2zvAp9ZQHBoEK8Q9aNWnIV7efoMgu88krSWdLBQrh9 lSDK+RkZRHFZpbA3kaIPVN1ycDs25lBZqEtTEcvxKd3C4qYh/qnTOqzrXp9bI2HL 9jOaPQp5XtqeFirgsm8nBb4EAQGBczBySOoYrdozQVBHidzAkoAxJ0doxyl0W2IC xXU1zOoHrzjjMX6zxZIdVGY+9SD+FDKtO26SGNAlc8L2B7pTCQhCtlon3yzukzsx AT88vIdmyQ7N2vbuW3j44THQ9O5j3d12EAIuPBk/Pe1htS6afNekArZg5djCCRaE 4aovUt9yoCITbvegDc7R0WRM2dRbWYl+uYblqL9QQwhlvQXhjoth+FdY/9bjIXVr VSZPtJU/rO/5T9bxOczm =u+Uo -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Great, orders going out tomorrow is epic news! Sadly, the media (and sometimes the government) looks to the Bitcoin Foundation as a "voice" representing Bitcoin. Perhaps, someday we can have a much better way to "communicate" with the world.
Define "we" before even thinking about a better way. TBF as spokesperson for Bitcoin is the best we have. Not because they're doing such a great job, but because they exist. I personally doubt that anyone could do much better. https://coincenter.org/they can do it too. Suddenly many people are having the need to be or to replace a the Foundation... After what's happened I'm always going to doubt such kind of organizations, I don't see a bright future for these things. They'll most probably either end up doing nothing or doing wrong. And it's not just because Garzik is there that they're going to make a good job...

I'd love such a place... but for myself only I don't see that as a retreat for Bitcoiners. It would have to be something like Malla Manor, that castle from rpietila to accommodate everyone.

Of course we need bigger blocks, at least for now! I'll definitely have my vote when a client supports a block size increase.

Haha, fantastic Seriously speaking, one day our toasters will probably mine something... But definitely not SHA

I don't to sound defeatist, but this is sounding a bit like the Bitcoin Foundation... an organization created to raise awareness of Bitcoin and other digital currencies might not be seen with good eyes from now on. Anyways, you can try and prove us all wrong, by making something amazing!
And BTW, search for Lighthouse, you might be interested in making a crowdfunding on their platform.

Really nice to see all this positive evolution And pretty funny to see all that red on those Spanish islands! Many tourists go there, pretty nice to see them accepting Bitcoin.

The odds and the evidence were against him. It was probably best for him to confess and to plead guilty.
I question myself where are the bad players and the authorities here. Sometimes it seems there were only bad players, even within the authorities...

You are wrong. Bitcoin-linked accounts refers to those bank accounts which are being held by Bitcoin-exchanges and other crypto-based ventures. Even if you convert your BTC to LTC, and then sell these Litecoins to €€€€ (using Bitstamp or BTC-e), the banks will still report the cash deposit to the authorities, as it came from an account which is being held by a Bitcoin exchange.
Exactly. It states "connected to bitcoin", without any definition of that. Litecoin is connected to Bitcoin, and usually trades in similar exchanges. Anyone thinking that their altcoin will save them from this is just deluded. The post has been taking down... Is this news true or just based on rumors? If it's true, that's just a shame...
The post looks like it is still down. I'm not sure how credible "An anonymous Dutch bank employee" is. Without an official statement from related parties this might be completely false. However, I do see this being quite possible. Luckily for anyone who wants to avoid this, there are always cash transactions. Use localbitcoins and sell when you want to. What else interests me is that it states sending or receiving more than €1,000. Does this include one time transactions that are bigger than €1,000 or the total sum? In the first case one could easily cheat them by sending smaller amounts. The news report is true. If the news itself is true or not, I don't know... meanwhile I've found the post where the news originated from. As you can see it's marked as speculation. so let's just take it with a grain of salt.
