I see we disagree heavily, my main goal is to give people a baseline like an UBI. We are missing out on a lot of potential by people stuck in poverty that go through extreme stress and are never able to achieve anything great. I believe everyone should at least have their basics met: education, healthcare, housing, food.
You are rich right? Go do that with your money and shut the fuck up about how the rest of us use ours. There is only so much one person can do. Don't you realize crime and violence happens mostly because of poverty. I'm a bad person for wanting to make the world a better place? Nope, crime and violence happens mostly because of genetics, with a little nurture on top. Also environment. High levels of inequality with no way to personally advance also contributes. Quite a lot. That would be the nurture on top. No, that's environment. It's different. Words mean things and it is a different word. It's right there, see how that works? No Ibian, the idiom is "nature versus nurture" "The nature versus nurture debate is one of the oldest philosophical issues within psychology. So what exactly is it all about? Nature refers to all of the genes and hereditary factors that influence who we are—from our physical appearance to our personality characteristics. Nurture refers to all the environmental variables that impact who we are, including our early childhood experiences, how we were raised, our social relationships, and our surrounding culture."Words mean things and It's right there, see how that works? https://www.verywellmind.com/what-is-nature-versus-nurture-2795392

I lived in China for about six months. In Shanghai, in the French concession. I was working for a company in the Jing'an district. This gave me the opportunity to experience first hand what it is like to live in a country with little to no environmental regulations. It has been awhile since I have been there so things may have changed a bit since but I have my doubts. - I went out to the bars on Bund one night and came home piss drunk. Hopped in the shower and was thirsty and drunk so took a big mouthful of water. I nearly vomited and was instantly sober. Shanghai tap water is disgusting - no one drinks it except the very poor. It tastes like liquid metal with god knows what mixed in
- I was driving home in a taxi one winter evening and looked out the window at the beautiful snow fall. Then I realised it was still well above freezing. The falling "snow" was just fly ash from the local coal fired power station
- A friend of mine landed at the airport. I went to collect her. On the taxi ride into the city she commented on the moon which was high in the sky. I told her 'no' that's the sun and its just smog that make it look dim. We then had an argument about whether it was the sun or the moon. I was right and she was wrong.
Here is a picture of what Shanghai looks like on a typical day Here is a photo of Beijing, which tends to be worse than Shanghai A pic from Shijiazhuang which is further inland You guys might think that environmental regulations are killing the USA and UK, but I suggest the opposite. A lack of environmental regulations are killing China and places in Asia. All the rich Chinese establish anchor homes in the West, in part just so they can get away from the pollution. Think twice before you advocate for getting rid of environmental protections. You might think that the EPA is communist, but it is truly awful living somewhere without proper environmental controls. I was offered a pay rise if I would stay for another six months after my contract was up, but I got the fuck out of China and have never been back. Once I got off the plane in the West and walked into the airport parking lot, all I could smell was this wall of fresh air and flowers. That memory is absolutely seared into my brain after six months of living in smog. Some more information just so you don't think I am making it up: Can I drink the tap water in China?
No, the tap water in China is not safe to drink. Unlike most western countries where there is easy access to safe tap water, in most places in China the tap water, although it looks clear, is not safe for drinking unless it has been boiled. Even in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai, water from the tap is not well filtered, sterilized, or purified, and may carry hazardous contaminants like sediments, rusts, bacteria, virus, chlorines, or other heavy metals. Sicknesses like diarrhea caused by drinking unclean water may spoil your trip. Source: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/essential/water.htmChina's air pollution crisis shows no sign of ending as nation fails to lower coal use 10 January 2017
For the last month, severe air pollution has choked Beijing and coal is estimated to cause about 40 per cent of the smog in the nation's capital. Other cities in the north, such as Shijiazhuang, have recorded air quality of 1000 PM2.5. PM2.5 are fine particles less than 2.5 micrometres in diameter that can lodge in the lungs and get into the bloodstream. The World Health Organisation says anything over 25 PM2.5 as a health hazard Source: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-01-08/chinese-air-pollution-crisis-caused-by-ongoing-coal-use/8168702
Look at you, using all facts and shit, lets not have that crap get in the way of a good party line. Yes, but it is also a fact that they work very hards to reduce harmful emissions, and with good effect, and some side effects. "China's official action plan to address its pollution problems was launched in 2013, and since then, the nation's drastic air pollution controls have had a correspondingly drastic effect, slashing concentrations of harmful PM 2.5 particle matter in eastern China by almost 40 percent." https://www.sciencealert.com/china-s-war-on-air-pollution-has-had-a-sinister-side-effect-we-never-expected

From the mouths of children another wake up call. Who is listening? TED talks w/ Greta Thunberg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2QxFM9y0tYwill play a pivotal roll in the coming changes that are necessary to transition off this destructive oil based economy and into a sustainable environmentally friendly one. she is a child and speak like a child... Do we mess up nature...sure we do. However, ask whether people of Sweden (or anywhere else) will give up their meat and their warm winter flats, etc etc in a noble goal of reducing emissions (with a big maybe), and you would hear a resounding NO. Realistically, i see only two possibilities: 1. We will continue with population growth, pollution, environmental destruction until we would be too stupid to even comprehend the consequences (CO2 levels twice above normal reduce your intellect by 20%). Why we would continue? because our lifespan is too short to comprehend the change that occurs over relatively long time periods (more than 30-50 years) and act on this in a democratic society with no dominating opinion. Once we self-destruct en masse, Earth will return to semi-balance within 100 thou years, maximum a million, only to become unlivable (due to expanding Sun) in about 1 billion years. BTW, I can see the effects of current civilization first hand. Most current students have significantly decreased levels of comprehension, critical thinking, analysis, etc. Maybe not true for Stanford, but certainly true in some run of the mill schools. The process of "idiocratization" is well on its way. Can worldwide tech civilization sprung again after the survivors become smarter again following the crisis? Unlikely, since we already consumed vast %% of coal and oil. This probably explains the Fermi paradox: there is nobody out there because it is impossible (or close to impossible) to solve this problem of civilization vs environmental destruction/pollution. This is proposed to be a Great Filter which presumably prevents civilization to continue over cosmically long time periods. 2. We would become non-biological, which would render Co2 levels moot. In such case, we would probably consume the biosphere or utilize their carbon for something else. Horrible? Maybe, but it is my less favorable scenario. Let me inform you about the latest on the Greta Thunberg affair. The whole thing was set up by the PR-expert Ingmar Rentzhog in order to raise money for his company ”We Don’t Have Time”. It's Kind of like an ICO scam but with Greta as the token. Her mother is the famous opera singer Malena Ernman, who just by coincidence released the book ”scener ur hjärtat” (scenes from the heart) about climate angst and Gretas way too a school strike for the climate, at the hight of Gretas media attention. The whole story, (in Swedish, use Google translate) https://samnytt.se/svd-uppmarksammar-affarerna-bakom-greta-thunberg-tva-manader-efter-att-de-avslojats/

The US is the biggest endorser of Bitcoin.
I just had a strange thought. I don't know If I will able to express myself like I would in my native language but I'll try my best. Does anybody find it weird that technologies like mp3, napster, torrent, bitcoin are almost always invented in the US where you get thrown in Jail if you don't pay your taxes or use pirated software, in other words, where the law is too strict? Now I know what you'll counter me with this: "USA is the most developed country yo noob what did you expect?" Just stay a while and listen. I am not talking about that. It is like they do it on purpose. It is like they didn't shut down the torrent network willingly. I know they jailed the TPB owner and shut down their website many times but I don't believe they really wanted it. Cuz: "Last remaining Pirate Bay founder freed from jail"They do it on purpose so people with minimum wages can enjoy movies and books other stuff where only the rich can enjoy "legally". You become an illegal when you pirate a software but only if you get caught and unless you are too dumb, you'll never get caught. They are trying to suppress the anger which is raising among the people by giving them these sedatives. If the anger raises to a certain point, it'll become a riot. >> See France. This is one of the reasons why they invented Bitcoin. To give people a chance to enjoy the stuff that only the rich enjoy. (like lambos) I mean there are tons of other reasons but I am sure this is one of them. The FIAT rich people, naturally, always want to get richer. And in this system, there are thousands of them and they all want to live without working. When there are too many of those freeloaders, the system gets clogged down. And we are already there. In other words, the system has failed. These rich people need to get poorer. You'll either have to kill them one by one (which'll take lots of effort) or you need to find a way to affect all of them with one trick. What trick would that be? By introducing a new monetary system! ...to make those old kings poorer some other people need to get richer and who do you think these new elite are? Crypto adopters. The beauty of this, If guys like Warren Buffet don't join this game, He'll lose shitloads of potential gains because if he doesn't some other rich dude will. And If he decides to join, then he just speeds up the process! of the desctruction of his FIAT investments! I see what you mean, but I honestly think it's just a coincidence, Many of the things you mention are built by enthusiasts and purposely made to be hard to stop and ban. And that's why they are still around, it's impossible to find and take to court everyone who has ever downloaded a copyrighted movie or book via the torrent network.

Remind yourself that less than 1% of the world has even touched bitcoin and crypto.
You took the risk. You made that leap. You are now an early adopter. You reap the rewards.
This isn't about just next year, but for the next decade.
I daren’t even dream about what 1 bitcoin will be worth in 10 years Then let me tell you. Roughly around 10 000 000 USD in December. EDIT: December 2029 that is. 1 million USD after next three halvings is a *conservative* target IMO. Indeed, that's why I wrote 10 million.

boycott fiat. Then let me tell you.

That will make an envious response to those who dare say that I have no future on the crypto thing I do presently. Let them envy us for they ignore chances. Well, I will be almost 70 when that happens, but I will be glad to see it come true, if I'm still alive. The prediction is based on the price increase after the two last halvings extrapolated on to two more halvings. Sorry, I mean three more halvings.

Ibian, did you stop trading bitcoin when the bank asked you to open a business account? Or did you get a business account?
They want nothing at all to do with cash that comes from in-person sales. And they assume it all does because why not. Other than waiting for people who want to sell, my only option is a bitcoin atm, and there is none nearby. Ok, just curious. I see there is a atm in CPH, can't you just go there? Yes, but a train ticket there and back is almost $200. Which means I would have to exchange at least $20000 or so, depending on fees (unknown at this time) to make it worthwhile. I see, I had no idea train tickets were that expensive in DK. Dude fucking everything is expensive. A burger is like $10. In Thailand I can get a meal for $3. It's all down to taxes. If we abolished the welfare state and had a 20% tax with all the hidden shit included the purchasing power per worked hour would be four times as high. Socialism simply does not work and we are all going to suffer for it sooner than most people think. I agree, but in this case I suspect it's due to lack of competition. I can take a bus from Malmö to Stockholm for 249 SEK (about 30 USD) and there are dirt cheap train tickets too. But there are at least three different train companies trafficking that stretch and a shitload of bus companies, and I am pretty sure the taxes are not lower in Sweden. Edit: MÖ- STHLM is about 610 Km
