2841  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. WEEKLY PAYOUTS. on: May 30, 2014, 08:11:08 AM
This is partly why I just like claiming for my posts at the end of the term. You know exactly how many you're getting then and there's no quibbles on payment and over how many posts you've done.

You'd know just as well if it was defined before hand up to what point the posts will be counted; for example, you get paid on the 1st of the month, and everything posted up to the 31st, 23:59 forum time, will be counted. I guess it's the responsibility of the campaign organizers to make things like this as clear as possible.
2842  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How long would it take for Anarchy to start working? on: May 30, 2014, 07:55:11 AM
You don't start anarchy, it is a state acted through events such as revolutions and such. I do not think anarchy will degrade humans as a whole. Also we do have a somewhat of an anarchy. It is the Internet. Look at Somalia, they live in anarchy and look at how they turned out.
-T

Don't confuse disorder and warlords fighting for dominance with anarchy. Anarchy is a form of social organization that strives to avoid hierarchies between people, and so seeks to avoid coercion and use of force by authority figures. Also, you have examples where this has worked, at least internally, like for example the regions of Catalonia and Aragon in Spain during the Spanish Civil War.

But to avoid hierarchies between people, you will have to use external coercion you are preaching against. I don't know much about Catalonia and Aragon during the Spanish Civil War, but organizing what they had still required external coercion like war, I guess... Cool

The civil war was more of an opportunity, rather than a cause; there had previously been decades (indeed several generations) that engaged in anarchic experiments, most ending in failure and repression at the hands of the ruling class, before it was finally able to break through during the war.

Now, it is true that in order to reach such a type of society (say, from the point we are in today) there are several things that would need to happen first: for example, worker owned and managed means of production; up to a point, redistribution of wealth, and so on. Of course, realistically speaking, it's very hard to achieve this without some form of coercion; whether or not this is justifiable, you decide. Tongue

Yes, I know it is. However, it is only allowed because it would be too hard to enforce a ban on such activity; it's just easier to let people know that these things can happen. That's why I asked for someone (preferably on the default trust list) to give him negative feedback for it, and hopefully on his other accounts as well.

that's really sweet of you. thanks.  Wink

Sure, anytime. And thanks for giving me negative trust as well; very thoughtful of you.  Tongue

I'm sure; especially for people like you selling accounts...  Roll Eyes

By the way, why hasn't anyone given you negative trust yet? (not that you wouldn't jump to an alt account, but still)

usually vod & tomatocage give negative trust to account seller in this forum
maybe they don't see him yet Tongue

Yes, it seems they're getting slow.  Wink

2845  Other / Off-topic / Re: Snowden poll on: May 30, 2014, 04:21:37 AM
Your input and time was not wasted. I do think you speak the truth. It is very sad its like this. Could it ever be changed? And I guess most people would never care?

Oh, sorry; this ended up being buried and I didn't get to answer.

Most people have one (and depending on where you live, sometimes more than one) job, a family to take care of, bills they must pay, and a life they want to lead with as little trouble as possible; dealing with stuff like this on top of it all is not always easy and in the end, until they realize how it affects their lives directly, they won't do anything about it. And even then there will always be a lot of apathy, a lot of people who think they can't do anything about it, so it's just better not to waste time with it.

On the other hand, I'm sure there are those who would say that by comparison with people half a century ago, people today are far more engaged and far less tolerant of the abuses we're here discussing. As an example, during much of the Vietnam War you could see a lot of the information about what was going on in the media, and quite simply, nobody cared about it. It took several years before people even acknowledged what was going on and the opposition to the war really started taking hold. In contrast to that, you had opposition to the war in Iraq before it was even officially declared, and this even with the propaganda the media was spreading. So it's quite telling that the message in the media needs to be so distorted nowadays when compared to in the past; the ways to control the public are waning.

Now, part of the reason for this decline is the spread of alternative media, probably most of it operating through the internet. Most of these sources rely on public funding however, so donating to them is one way of helping things change. Another way would obviously be to make more people aware of them, so that mainstream media can't reach as many people. Of course not everyone uses the internet that much, so I guess at least advising people to get their information from more varied sources would be good: Aljazeera for example, where available, is a good source overall provided you're not looking for information on Qatar and its interests.

Whether or not this is enough, I don't know, but the tendency seems to be positive so far, if rather slow. But there are also those that propose more radical solutions, either in the form of disengagement with the system wherever possible, or a gradual replacement of the existing structures of power by something decentralized and under popular control.
2846  Economy / Services / Re: ★★★ HIGHEST SIGNATURE PAYMENT ON THE BOARD - UPDATED - RitzGrandCasino.com ★★★ on: May 30, 2014, 01:40:23 AM
Are there any other signature campaigns paying similar or will they all either stop or reduce the amount they pay out now that the price of BTC is rising?

Well, you can take a look at the existing campaigns in the thread that bitcoininformation is maintaining: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0. As you can see there, there are a few campaigns that have similar pay structures and rates.

In relation to whether or not they will reduce the rates, at least for now, I doubt it. Both PD and UpDown have stated there will be a few changes coming, but in the opposite direction; that is, better rates.  Smiley
2847  Economy / Services / Re: ★★★ HIGHEST SIGNATURE PAYMENT ON THE BOARD - UPDATED - RitzGrandCasino.com ★★★ on: May 30, 2014, 01:28:45 AM
I don't have time just now to read through lots of pages to find the answer to my question, so can someone tell me if this campaign is ending, will we get paid for May postings?

Yes, we will get paid for all the posts made this month. Here is the post from Ritz regarding that:

Important News:

As from May 31st 2014 we will cease with this signature campaign.
The reasons are as follows:
1) It simply isn't viable to continue with these high prices. The ROI is just not there.
2) It doesn't help, when the price of the btc is on the rise.

The Ritz Grand Casino does very well without the need of a signature program. In fact, the return visitors we get are incredible.  So we are here to stay.

Everyone will still be paid up until May 31st. You must remain with the program until payout day, (1st june) to be paid. We will still check on the posts

We would like to thank every one who has participated in our signature campaign.

Good luck to you all and thanks for your support.

Ritz Grand Casino

2849  Other / Meta / Re: Dear moderators on: May 29, 2014, 11:10:28 PM
People like me have received much worse in spam trust, quit complaining and just deal with it.

Resolving it or ignoring it are your two options, the trust system isn't moderated as Diamondcardz said. Moderators can't do anything to trust, only admins, and admins won't make any changes to it, as that could lead to abuse quickly.

I think the only time feedback has ever been removed, was when someone was creating bots that would leave everyone negative feedback. They were banned, and that feedback was removed.

So if if you get fraudolent bad feedback there is no way to get rid of it.
This is not good, however i guess that if you could prove your "innocence" in some way, there will be a little possibility to get rid of bad feed.
(very very little)

Well, as others have said before, the person who left the feedback in this case was added to the trust list of someone on the default trust list, hence the problem; that is, everyone else sees you with the red trust message. But this also means that if it was fraudulent feedback and you can prove it, you have a good chance of convincing that person to remove the other from his trust list, as was suggested, which should solve the problem.

And if I understand how this works correctly, other ways to solve this could be either someone else on the default trust list (perhaps on a higher trust level of the list) giving negative feedback to the person that gave you the feedback, or giving you positive feedback directly.

2851  Other / Off-topic / Re: Your favorite game on: May 29, 2014, 09:20:22 PM
Call of Duty series Cheesy and Final Fantasy 7 !

The only Final Fantasy I've ever played is FF 7 lol. The story is nice and deep i feel Cheesy I think 7 is the best ever in FF series.

Having played only ff7, how can you say it is the best in the series?  Tongue  Personally, I liked ff6 more than ff7, but the graphics are obviously lacking.  Smiley

As for my favorite game, I'd say either Master of Orion 2 or most likely Space Empires V. 4X space strategy games for the win.
2852  Other / Meta / Re: Dear moderators on: May 29, 2014, 08:53:19 PM
I would kindly ask you to remove my negative trust [...]

Perhaps you should move this to the Meta (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0) section of the forum? This doesn't really belong on the Off-topic section, and if you check Meta, you will see a few similar threads there.
2853  Economy / Services / Re: GAW MINERS PAYS FOR YOUR SIGNATURE >>> HIGH RATES 50posts = 0.1BTC JOIN US! on: May 29, 2014, 07:57:20 PM
Awesome! Cant have a large signature limit yet once they enable it

As MoneyGod hinted at, you're still months away from being able to join this campaign. You need 120 activity to be able to join this, and you gain 14 activity every 2 weeks, provided you are active in the forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.0 (here you can see how it works).

On the other hand, as soon as you reach the level of Member (60 activity) you will already be able to join a few other campaigns; take a look at this thread to know your options: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0.
2854  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are psychics bearish on bitcoin? on: May 29, 2014, 07:31:50 PM
physicists, if you look throughout history, can be narrow-minded people who are entrenched in their old ways of thinking. the great ones usually come along and challenge the convention, like an einstein or newton. all of the best theoretical physicists are usually artistic-minded people too. einstein plays musical instruments, and i think sean carroll does as well.

The thread is about psychics, not physicists...  Grin

I've been trying to figure out myself how a virus could be hidden in open source code. It would have to be some very well crafted logic error that would occur only under certain conditions and that every coder would be unable to detect when simply reviewing the code.  It could also perhaps be something hidden in the blockchain and currently encrypted, but once the key is revealed, it will be decrypted and the virus will be readable.

It's most likely nonsense of course, but I wonder if you could create a virus (external, not hidden in the source code) specifically designed to affect the operation of miners somehow, to screw with the blockchain; though I suppose it would have to infect a substantial portion of them to have any real effect.
2855  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Events that changed the world... on: May 29, 2014, 07:07:33 PM
I think the invention of firearms was one of the greatest events that changed history. Think about it, before firearms, people have to fight in close range. And it was very hard to kill people. But once guns are widely used in warfare, the number of casualties have sharply increased and wars keep getting bigger and bigger.

It is also now much easier to kill people and commit crimes with guns.

i fail to see how it was one of the "greatest" events. all it led to was an easy conquest and domination over people who did not have the technology.

I think he simply meant to say that it was one of the events that most changed the world, not necessarily that it was a good change. In fact, he goes on to say that it led to increasing numbers of casualties in conflict which, I would hope, most people tend to see as a bad thing.
2856  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Events that changed the world... on: May 29, 2014, 05:02:44 PM
Political events:

1775: American revolution and its system of government and individual rights.
It's more important than the French revolution and initiated the slow reaction of the world against European domination. So, it's the birth of the decolonization and the plurality of states we have now.

I'd have to disagree with that. European domination was not halted or slowed by the American Revolution. In fact the 1800's was the peak of European imperialism. The event that set off decolonization was WWII.

He's sort of right, in that it started to push for a reduction in European domination, at least in the New World; but of course it's completely wrong to say it's the birth of decolonization. The colonies, initially in the Americas, simply began to change hands from the European powers to the US; see the Monroe Doctrine and how it was used through time for clear examples.

Why was the quote underneath your answer?

Speaking of which, why don't you guys clean up the quotes when you use them, so that the thread is actually readable?
2858  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post your Total time logged into Bitcointalk on: May 29, 2014, 01:44:41 PM
1 dats, 19 hours and 39 minutes. I don't understand I think it's bugged I've been on this forum and browsing a lot more than 1 day.

Just one page ago, you have at least 2 people explaining how that works:

Yes I noticed it too, I have 11 days but I spent literaly months logged in, maybe it counts only when you post something, then stops after a determined time.

I don't think you actually have to post something, but the general idea is right; it counts as long as you are actively using the forum (like browsing through the threads), and stops after a set time of inactivity.

The counter is screwy.

I sometimes log in for days and it doesn't show up.

It seems if your connection isn't open, it's not counting the time.

2859  Economy / Services / Re: Get paid for your signature from FXOpen. Weekly payouts. on: May 29, 2014, 12:39:38 AM
I'd like to apply please.

Then, you should probably read the first post on this thread, first and foremost. After that, if you still want to join, you should post your current post count, btc address, and then change your signature to the given Member sig.
2860  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. WEEKLY PAYOUTS. on: May 28, 2014, 11:44:34 PM
I'm nearing eligibility, which one should I do?

As others have hinted at, you still need some time before you can join; about a month, if you keep posting at least once every 2 week period. And if you were asking which campaign you should choose, take a look at this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0. There you will find a comparison between the sig campaigns currently running.
