361  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is inequality and money hijacking the American Democracy? on: December 28, 2015, 10:45:44 PM
Capitalism consumes democracy as fire consumes oxygen. We will all suffocate if we fail to revolt / recreate / transcend the neofeudal structural genocide in which we live.

Free trade is the thing that gives the average person the incentive to excel. It is the hope of finding riches that pushes people to dig all the wonderful technology out of nature that nature has within itself. It is the further marketing of those technologies that lets us all enjoy new things with more leisure time.

Smiley

I'm skeptical that capitalism consumes democracy.  Money in itself is a 'vote'. The problem is not enough freedom. Let me explain:

Free trade gives people the ability to improve their lives. Modern life does not have free trade because the money gets stuck in the institutions and governments forbid free trade (economic boycott, slow bank transfers, corruption at al). This is why bitcoin will gives us a breath of freedom for a while (as Satoshi said).

Warning: this text might depress you. Read at your own risk.

Traditionally, a philosophical or religious question, the issue of meaning is starting to be the subject of scientific studies.

Meaning is important because we are self-aware and we are conscious of the certainty of our death. Meaning is one of the ideas that help us dealing with death. Is part of our "terror from death management" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terror_management_theory). It helps us dealing with the fact that we live in a death row (for a crime we didn't commit), trying to entertain our selves while we wait for our turn (A. Camus). Or, to use more crude words, said clearly to shock the reader, that we "are corporeal creatures—breathing pieces of defecating meat no more significant or enduring than porcupines or peaches." (Solomon: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/fear-death-and-politics/).

Interesting post. It's a very pessimistic way of viewing life. I'm very critical about the view of 'entertain our selves while we wait for our turn', as we age the quality of life worsens. I think at some point some of us can no longer entertain ourselves. In some lives there is no space for entertainment at all.

Hal Finney is cryonically frozen. Perhaps death is not the final destination.  Huh

Re: Is inequality and money hijacking the American Democracy?
To a large extend yes. Politicians can be bought or seduced and corporations have been hijacking our democracy for a while.
364  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NYC Will Fine You $250,000 For ‘Misgendering’ A Transsexual on: December 28, 2015, 07:16:01 PM
Did you call a transsexual person “he” or “she” when they preferred to be called “zhe?” According to a newly updated anti-discrimination law in New York City, you could be fined an eye-watering $250,000.
It's ridiculous and the $250.000 fine is way to high.
365  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin and sex on: December 27, 2015, 06:17:52 PM
So I'm curious if anything's changed. Are y'all still more interested in business than sex? And what have you learned about women in bitcoin? Or god forbid, queer folks in bitcoin?

OP, are you on reddit.com/r/girlsgonebitcoin ?
366  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: December 27, 2015, 06:11:02 PM
I totally agree. Gun Control is the need of the hour. How many more innocent lives are we willing to sacrifice? Young kids are getting killed every now and than bez of the misuse of protection law. Its a time to have a strict and strong law to control this menace.
Yes, that's totally brilliant.  You need a law to tell criminals to not be criminals so that criminals will not be criminals.

At the very least you could have a law that criminals must wait 5 minutes after breaking into a house before they start robbing it.  And they must wait 10 minutes after seizing a woman before raping her.

This would give the cops time to arrive and arrest the criminals.

Criminals will always have guns, regardless of the law. The innocent lives taken are taken by crime.  We are heading towards a totalitarian state and taking away gun rights will get us into deep shit.

367  Economy / Economics / Re: This is how 0.037 Bitcoins looks like in Venezuela on: December 27, 2015, 02:27:50 PM
This is why Venezuela will be the first country to adopt a virtual currency.

 0.037 Bitcoins o almost 12 Us$

It loos like a lot of money, but is the equivalent to half of the monthly minimum wage

I had no clue Venezuela was doing that bad. They could actually earn a months salary with a signature campaign  Cheesy
368  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Democrats Introduce Measure to Condemn Criticism of Islam on: December 27, 2015, 10:25:10 AM
There is no proof of a war against Muslims in this country. Racial hate and anti-semitism are far worse problems, but that won’t stop leftists from using it as an excuse to put in laws that damage or destroy the First Amendment.

Politicians have been trying to destroy our constitution since 9/11.  The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
369  Economy / Economics / Re: When do you buy Bitcoin ? on: December 27, 2015, 10:15:20 AM
I use to buy some bitcoins when it drops to the nearest support level. I have been a forex trader for several years and this style is very frequent in my daily trading.
Thanks, this is an interesting strategy.
buying bitcoin under $300 then hodl it
bitoin price is very fluctuation in 1year, better to trading at middle plan, like this day better to sell your bitcoin then hold your fiat we will down in january
I think your predictions will wrong, block halving happen in 2016,
January is the beginning, I think the price will soar in January, hold your bitcoin

I agree with you ajun.
2016 will be the year of bitcoin.
The block halving and the market needs bitcon to be at 500 USD at minimum.
I think we will see 500 USD this year.

371  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think Putin will rule Russia for life? on: December 26, 2015, 10:29:13 PM
Putin will rule at least for other 10-15 year, then he will have to go because of its age. I see Medvedev a possible successor of putin  Smiley
I expect something similar to happen. In the future he may be getting to old to do the job. Medvedev is a bit younger and has support from the party.
372  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POTUS 2016] Who will you pick? on: December 26, 2015, 10:11:04 PM
Trump FTW!!

At this time Trump winning in the poll by 700%..

your trump will probably ruin financial  your country Undecided
Is any presidential candidate able to solve the financial problem? I think the only method is using a paradigm shift.
373  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Shocking Times: Movement for Pedophile “Rights” Marches On on: December 25, 2015, 03:36:46 PM
I don't think anyone here defended or tried to sugarcoat the rape of children, consenting or the act of covering up these crimes. What we are debating is a whole different concept but maybe it's still hard to comprehend. You can't lock up young little Hitler for having weird thoughts. You can definitely lock him up the minute he commits a crime. Like bryant.coleman said, you can't condemn someone for their very own nature or for having thoughts or sexual fantasies.
The government can lock up people here under the patriot act by suspect of terror. No legal court neccesary
374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Share Your Methode on: December 22, 2015, 06:21:40 PM
make 1 Bitcoin per week in trading + signture campaign. but in trading all depends on your skill.

but for me quite difficult to make 1 BTC/week. but 1 BTC/month I could still do it Smiley

which amount do you trade with to make 1 BTC? obviously it's larger than the exchange fee, but how much BTC do you usually trade with to make 1 BTC profit?
375  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU = stupid on: December 22, 2015, 06:18:23 PM
Whatever rules and regulation they put into bitcoin will never die but it may affect its price. I think these polticians are only talking on behalf of some large european banks.
The European Government is heavily manipulated by banks and other groups. It's similar here in the US.

The governments and powers that be in general are going to keep pushing an agenda to ban anything that may be a challenge against the status quo, and in the long term they know the potential of Bitcoin to disrupt this hegemony, so I think it will only get worse.

That's true. Governments are no longer independent, they depend on banks and banks control them.
376  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Las Vegas police say car crash that left one dead and 36 injured was intentional on: December 22, 2015, 06:13:49 PM
One person has died and 36 are injured, six critically, after a car ran into a group of pedestrians on the Las Vegas strip in an incident police have described as intentional.

To think some people claim we would be safer if guns are prohibited  Roll Eyes What's next? Making cars illegal?

Why don't they consider this terrorism, I have heard the terrorists have suggested cars before as weapons! It doesn't matter if a baby was in her car, she obviously doesn't love her baby, or she would never have done this, and to maybe prevent herself from being shot, if police/anyone else saw the baby in the car. Death penalty, get rid of her, no matter what the reason for this, it was insane, stupid, thoughtless, and a form of terrorism, treat it as such, I don't care if the person's defense is bipolar, depression, et., they could of just offed themselves, but they didn't.
Bradley Manning is a terrorist, this woman is not. I don't understand it either  Huh
377  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU Will Force Eastern Europe to Take Immigrants Against the Will of the People on: December 22, 2015, 06:09:19 PM
Why are Gulf-States(Kuwait,S.Arabia,UAE,Qqtar etc)quiet on this migrant crisis? Theyre geographically closest to Syria,Afghanistan,Pakistan etc and share the same culture, religion, history etc.Is there no hidden agenda for migrants to islamize europe, when we know their numbers require thousands of new mosques?
I think there is a hidden agenda, maybe the Saudis pay them to take migrants.

That is exactly what the Saudi Arabian sheikhs want to do. Check this article:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3242354/Saudi-offer-build-200-mosques-Germany-Syrian-migrants-slammed-cynical-Kingdom-not-offered-refugees-themselves.html

The Arabs are encouraging the Muslim inflow in to Europe, in order to convert Europe to Eurabia. For the past 30-years or so, the Saudis have been trying to spread their Wahabbi ideology, by building new mosques and madrassas in every nook and corner of the world. This is the new strategy.

I don't consider the dailymail a very good source, but you are right about the Saudis paying for Wahabbi ideology around the world.
378  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump on Putin's crackdown on journalists: 'it’s never been proven' on: December 22, 2015, 07:46:29 AM
The NATO-backed forces have been the most prolific killers of the journalists ever since the end of the cold war. Anyone remember the journalists who were deliberately killed by the NATO-backed neo Nazis during the war in Donbass? Remember Andrey Stenin, Igor Kornelyuk, Andrea Rocchelli, Andrei Mironov, Anatoly Klyan and Anton Voloshin?
I never heard about this from media here in the US. Could you send the article to this text?

380  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you memorize your bitcoin addresses and private keys? on: December 21, 2015, 08:03:44 PM
Don't know where this thread should belong so I decided to post it here on off topic sections (to avoid issues)

I am just wondering, just like the title says, do you memorize your bitcoin address and private keys?

Personally I do memorize 2 of my BTC addresses and their respective private keys, how about you?

Just curious if there are people like me that memorize such random letters, numbers and symbols Grin

If you want to use this as method for cold storage: You don't have to memorize both your bitcoin address and private keys. Bitcoin addresses are generated from the private key, if you remember your private key you can always generated your bitcoin address.
