442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stopping a transaction on: December 17, 2015, 06:22:15 PM
I have been searching the forum and I can not find a solid answer to this question:  Is there a way that anyone can stop a transaction before the confirmations have been made.  For example; I pay Joe Dip 1.1 BTC for a domain name.  I can see that the transaction is waiting confirmation in the block chain, however there are no confirmations yet.  The seller can also see that the transaction is waiting for confirmations to come through.  Once we are at this point is there anyway that I could stop the transaction?

No. Unless you call all the miners to not include the transaction  Cheesy

Let me say it shorter. Modern science doesn't have life in it. Who needs modern science? Modern science is a step backward

You are on a bitcoin forum, using a computer and using the biggest network that has ever been made. All are results of science. I understand you love the bible as much as I do, but it doesn't mean science is a step backward.

450  Other / Politics & Society / Re: RESPONSE TO ISIS AND OTHER ISLAMIC MILLITANTS GROUPS on: December 17, 2015, 05:36:52 PM
In Islam, there is no space to killed any one (weather he is accused or innocent). If you killed a person you killed all humanity. ISIS and other Islamic millitants should keep their mind that by this practice, they just defame Islam and its Prophet MUHAMMAD (peace be upn him). I gathered views of MUHAMMAD (PBUH) PRECEPTS ABOUT WAR. May it is benficial for everyone (specially Muslims who forgot their way)

From Quran:
“O Prophet, fight against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh upon them. And their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the destination."  9:73
"I will Cast Terror Into the Hearts Of Those Who Disbelieve. Therefore Strike Off Their Heads"  Quran 8:12

Do you have Quran 2nd edition?  Grin
451  Economy / Economics / Re: Open a bank account without many papers that will respect my privacy on: December 16, 2015, 08:44:10 PM
Hi

I am looking to open a bank account outside of Greece to avoid capital control limits so i can get payments there and then to be able to sent them to online exchange sites so i can buy Bitcoins Smiley

Is such a service exist? It will be great if they don't ask a lot of papers and don't reveal a lot of my personal info.....

Thank you

There are many countries where you can open an account, however every country will require personal information. Some to look at would be Singapore, Hong Kong, BVI, Cayman Islands and Seychelles.

I don't know of any anonymous bank accounts.
Some options:
Bitcoin ATMs that take cash.
Sell goods for BTC

452  Economy / Economics / Re: Fed Funds rate raised 0.25%, how will BTC price react? on: December 16, 2015, 08:35:16 PM

So far, BTC price not moving.
I think Feds don't control bitcoin price which is why it didn't move.
453  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is there so many coins? on: December 16, 2015, 08:31:08 PM
Why do they keep popping up and more importantly staying?
There are many reasons. Including:
  • people want to experiment with blockchains
  • people want to launch pump and dump coin to make money.
  • people create fake wallet with trojan to steal your coins
  • people want a coin for their community
  • some started as joke (dogecoin)

455  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Interesting thought I had about Bitcoin and certain religions on: December 16, 2015, 08:14:16 PM
I remember a guy here asking if gambling was haram (basically a sin). As far as I know, in the muslim world it is indeed strictly prohibited that you can gamble.
Well, if we take this argument deeper and look at Bitcoin's inner mechanism, you'll know that the mining process is essentially a big lottery where miners (players/gamblers) bet hashing power in hopes to get a reward.

My question is, would then Bitcoin be haram for the entire muslim community, or other religions where gambling is sin? As you can tell by my nickname I don't follow any religion, I would just find hilarious that a religion would prohibit Bitcoin usage because a fundamental part of it mechanism is considered gambling.

Some Muslims forbid hearing music so I wouldn't be surprised.

Apparently socialism is the most looked up word of 2015.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
Not a bad thing if people are learning about politics. Looking up the word doesn't mean they agree  Smiley
458  Other / Off-topic / Re: Creative ways for giving bitcoins away? on: December 16, 2015, 07:23:42 AM
Just done a giveaway for 0.001 each to 3 people. I thought that was a bit boring, and small amount too. What are some creative and effective ways to donate/giveaway bitcoins to people in this particular community? What would you like to see?
Competitions are fun. I'd like to see more competitions Smiley
459  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help us to make a documentary about FBI,IMF and others wants to take down B coin on: December 16, 2015, 07:21:52 AM
Because Bitcoin is a form of digital currency, created and held electronically. No one controls it.Aren’t printed, like dollars or euros – they’re produced by people, and increasingly businesses, running computers all around the world, using software that solves mathematical problems.
False, Bitcoin is controlled by thousands of people who own private keys and miners. It is more controlled than dollars or euros

Muslim bombing over there, Muslim bombing over here, Muslim bombing everywhere. Is there anything else that's new?
Many Muslims are a suicidal bunch.
