1021  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Malaysia Airlines MH17 Crash: Boeing 777 Crashed in Ukraine Near Russian Border on: July 22, 2014, 06:57:07 PM
This photo doesn't allow us to tell if the plane was hit by a surface-to-air missile launched from the ground or an air-to-air missile deployed from a jet fighter. Close range AAMs ("dogfight" missiles) usually use infrared guidance (so they are called heat-seeking missiles), and since they hit the target aircraft engines, these perforations may come as a result of a blown-up engine.

Depending upon which part of the plane this segment is, we can ascertain whether it was a surface-to-air missile or an air-to-air missile. If it was a SAM, then the top portion of the plane will bear no shrapnel damage.

I think, it could also be a software bug.. after all, lots of weapons use software these days. But of course, for the politicians its easy to blame an entire nation for the action of a single entity or a few individuals

First, big economies should break down and when WW3 happens, it will be the biggest rise of Bitcoin.

You are right, Germanys economy is much too strong to start a new world war.. maybe the US will start this time, we seem to be preparing for it.
1023  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-22] Investing 101: How to Predict Bitcoin’s Price on: July 22, 2014, 06:45:37 PM
Technical analysis is nothing more than financial astrology.

There is no need for a complete analysis.. you just need to know the price in 2016.

The best any of us can do is rely on mathematical models to give us confidence in our own educated guesses as to whether the exchange value of a Bitcoin will go up or down tomorrow. Anyone who tells you any differently has a wagon full of snake oil to sell.

The models need to be filled with a lot of data, to make even a somewhat accurate prediction. There is so much data out there, that it is confusing which data will be useful and which not - and in addition it is often messed up data (in various forms).

Princeton Researcher Receives Half Million Dollar NSF Grant

On June 30th, Arvind Narayanan , a Computer Science/CITP Assistant Professor at Princeton and affiliate scholar at Stanford Law School’s CIS, received a $500,000 grant for award 1421689 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for “TWC: Small: Addressing the challenges of cryptocurrencies: Security, anonymity, stability”.

http://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/princeton-researcher-receives-half-million-dollar-national-science-foundation-cryptocurrency-grant

I wonder if the grant will impact the research somehow, the most revolutionairy cryptocurrency didn't seem to have any funding. It's a big grant, and I think it demonstrates there is a serious interest in cryptocurrencies in the scientific community - and - that the NSF imagines a future in which they may be used anywhere. Hodl!
1025  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World War III... Is it about to Happen? on: July 22, 2014, 06:34:00 PM
yeah that's the new model since world war 2.. it's better/more efficient to play economic wars and sanctions than it is to send ground troops to their death. problem with proxy wars in the middle east is that there are so many factions that might turn on you, so you could be wasting your money on giving them those arms and training.

Even if some of the factions turn against you, you can recruit some other faction to wage the war for you. No matter how powerful these factions are, they can't survive without outside support.

it's not like the US is the only outside support. they could go to U.S. enemies and ask for funding, like russia. who is ISIS backed by now? i believe it is now the saudis? and china is slowly becoming a world power.. i wouldn't be surprised to see it play the proxy war game. and syria seems to have an alliance with russia.

Of course, Russia doesn't want Bin Ladens near it's border so they support the present Syrian government. Russia has many allies and are still an enormously powerful country. If it wasn't, the US would be invading instead of sanctions.
1026  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia sponsor of terrorsm --Putin ,,war criminal,, on: July 22, 2014, 06:26:51 PM
Michael Fallon, who was promoted by David Cameron on Tuesday, accused Russia of “sponsored terrorism” in supporting pro-Moscow separatists, who have been accused of bringing down the Malaysian Airlines jet carrying 298 people.#

David Cameron, the guy of "If you want to see porn, you have to ask permission. We censor everything we want, both legal and illegal things.".  What a hypocrite.

As for sponsoring violence.. both Europe/US and Russia are sponsoring violence and in effect destroying the Ukraine. I think many people in the eastern part of the Ukraine wants to be part of helped by Russia, the same for the US. In the long term, the people won't have a good economy if this continues though. A mass debt from IMF and crappy economic sancations..  the people of the Ukraine will get less free.
1027  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Family Considers Killing 10-Year-Old Daughter After Mullah Rapes Her In Mosque on: July 22, 2014, 06:17:28 PM
It was bad enough that the alleged rape took place in the sanctity of a mosque and that the accused man was a mullah who invoked the familiar defence that it had been consensual sex.

But the victim was only 10 years old. And there was more: The authorities said her family members openly planned to carry out an honour killing in the case – against the young girl. The mullah offered to marry his victim instead.

This past week, the awful matter became even worse. On Tuesday, local policemen removed the girl from the shelter that had given her refuge and returned her to her family, despite complaints from women’s activists that she was likely to be killed.

The case has broader repercussions. The head of the Women for Afghan Women shelter here where the girl took refuge, Dr. Hassina Sarwari, was at one point driven into hiding by death threats from the girl’s family and other mullahs, who sought to play down the crime by arguing the girl was much older than 10. One militia commander sent Sarwari threatening texts and an ultimatum to return the girl to her family. The doctor said she now wanted to flee Afghanistan.

The head of the women’s affairs office in Kunduz, Nederah Geyah, who actively campaigned to have the young girl protected from her family and the mullah prosecuted, resigned May 21 and moved to another part of the country.

The case itself would just be an aberrant atrocity, except that the resulting support for the mullah, and for the girl’s family and its honour killing plans, have become emblematic of a broader failure to help Afghan women who have been victims of violence.

Pedophiles being protected, really really backwards. Afghanistan needs a cultural reform.

As for honour killings in Afghanistan: recorded 240 cases of honor killings, but the total number is believed to be much higher. Of the reported honor killings, 21% were committed by the victims’ husbands, 7% by their brothers, 4% by their fathers, and the rest by other relatives (2012) Within the United States, the overwhelming majority of honor killings are perpetrated by Muslims against Muslims (90% of honor killings known to have taken place in Europe and the United States from 1998 to 2008. The geopolitical situation in Russia border and middle east suggested the prologue for WWIII has started.

You are right that war is like an evolution, it starts with only a few countries - but we are not yet in a situation of total war. Of course, the financial crisis will be a big motivation for people to join in a war - once it reaches the point of no return.
1029  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Damning US intelligence puts Russia in the dock on: July 22, 2014, 12:56:44 AM
Russia sent powerful rocket launchers to the separatists who shot down a Malaysia Airlines passenger plane, the United States claimed last night.

An American intelligence report also alleged that President Putin allowed separatist fighters to receive training inside Russia — including on the air-defence systems apparently used to bring down MH17.

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/world/europe/article4153160.ece

Why would Putin be interested in shooting down a passenger plane? it makes no sense. Russia recently hosted the olympic games and even turns out to be a safe haven for whistleblowers; Russia would like to keep the US rocket launchers / nukes at a distance, which is why he needs the Krim / other area near Russia border.

Perhaps some people in Ukraine there thought it was a military bombing plane and decided to shoot it, or perhaps there was a bomb inside the plane planted by someone. I don't know if there was an agenda behind it, there is simply too much financial interest behind media for the people to know the truth. Either way the plane crashed in the ground and all people are dead.
1030  Other / Politics & Society / Re: MH17 crash: Rebels hand over black boxes on: July 22, 2014, 12:51:21 AM
Donetsk, Ukraine (CNN) -- Rebels in eastern Ukraine handed over the black box data recorders from downed Flight 17 to Malaysian officials, days after the passenger jet crashed.

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/07/21/world/europe/ukraine-malaysia-airlines-crash/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

I'm really curious about what is on that blackbox, but I think once in the hands of the authorities it will be manipulated.
Also, fixed the link  Smiley

BUT just south of the Russia Ukraine border is the North Korean border,
Errr... it depends on how you define near,  do you happen to own a supersonic jet?  Smiley

Quote
and because of the sanctions the US has on North Korea, they are slaving their people in the woods of Russia, and if Putin knows about that, it means Russia is working with North Korea.
The North Koreans working in Russia are the somewhat privileged ones - they get stuff like alcohol, cigarettes etc. I don't think it's bad that North Koreans are allowed to work in Russia. The NK government needs to modernize, which is the mean problem in NK.
Presently North Korea could easily be crushed if it was on an island, the army technology of some countries is far beyond what NK has, but NK has some good allies (China). NK may well go the way of China in the future.

Quote
And it seems Germany is working with Russia, but they don't like us now because we were spying on them.
This is what the media portrays, in reality German government is closely working with the US. There are more than 40 US army bases in Germany https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/3d/US_military_bases_in_Germany.svg/592px-US_military_bases_in_Germany.svg.png  and the German secret service was actually inspired by the NSA leaks, they think they ar not doing enough mass surveillance. Nevertheless they have been part of the PRISM program for a long time, and to avoid any legal situation they exchange US and German citizen data, in which both can access each others data.

Then, in Iraq we are sharing airspace with Russia, and fighting the rebels, while in Syria (next to Russia) we are supporting the rebels as they fight their dictator. This is what is becoming ISIS, which could now pose some kind of international terrorist threat soon.
Then, to make it worse, Israel is bombing Palestine while we try to negotiate with Iran about their nuclear program, but we let Saudi Arabia do whatever they want even though they are in every way as bad as Iran.
The middle east has always been a place of wars, for as long as I can remember.

Quote
So... WW III seems like it is almost unavoidable.

The financial situation is not yet worse enough to bring WW III.  Back in WWII or WWI the majority of the people were unemployed - but you still see the highways filled with traffic jams every day. In addition, the people need a common threat, a common fear, to be manipulated into a war. The media will teach you who that enemy is supposed to be.. watch closely Smiley

1032  Other / Politics & Society / Re: MH17 - Where is shrapnel? on: July 21, 2014, 07:19:43 PM
What are you trying to prove exactly? Those holes are sharpnel, expected to be inside the warhead of the missile.
Doesn't look a bit like machine gun holes, which draw lines of holes.

I don't think is it possible to take down a boeing like airplane using an machine gun?  Huh especially if it is flying higher than 5km
1033  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is anyone following the Israel & Palestine Situation. on: July 21, 2014, 12:11:33 AM
See now I just saw Erdogan of Turkey called Israel more barbaric than the Nazis, this is the same kind of silly rhetoric they deal with all the time. I hardly doubt 200 Palestinians killed is comparable to the tens of millions and destruction of Europe the Nazis brought. It is cheap and trivializes things, maybe we should talk about all the thousands of Kurds killed by Turkey for wanting their independence or the Armenian genocide.

+1 for the Kurds motherfuckers

The Nazi comparison is something you hear a lot, it may have something to do with the number of movies about nazis. I mean in the number of kills, Stalin has killed more people, but I guess that doesn't really sound catchy.

It's the same part, from a different angle. The picture is of too low resolution to really be very valuable.
I think the media is very fast to conclude the cause. For all I know it could be Al Quadia bombs.

Just tried it as well. Nice.

This is a good indicator that Bitcoin is seeping into the subconscious of the general public slowly.

Bit by bit we see bitcoin appearing more.I think it's a good feature, but Google is a bit late with it.
Eric Schmidt knew about Bitcoin for a long time, but ignored it for a while... Eitherway, duckduckgo had this feature much earlier

Holes or pieces of soil/dirt?

You may wonder why the soldier is walking on top of the wing..  there is plenty of space next to it.  Huh
If you zoom in on the picture you can see there are stones and mud on the wing. the dirt likely came from his shoes. On the bottom left there is a large black spot, which is probably from an explosion.

I think a bomb is more likely, given the location where it happend - but it could have been a missle.
1039  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Kiev media prepare fake news about Malaysian aircraft. on: July 20, 2014, 08:27:11 PM
I would argue that Russia is likely behind the shooting down of the airplane. Russia has a very tight grip on their media and is probably telling it to report these false reports.

It's also possible the CIA shot down the plane, you have to stay open minded despite all of the stuff the media throws at you. After all, we know from earlier leaks that the government/media often has an agenda.

1040  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Evidence of air-air missile. on: July 20, 2014, 07:49:21 PM
I think it's possible that it was a missile. But if it is in fact a missle, it is still uncertain who fired it and why. To start a war over this, would have the same catastrophe as the 9/11 situtation (financial crisis), as in .. it costs a lot more than the event itself.

Of course, the airplane didn't fly around the Ukraine - this is the cheapest route, and airplane personal never cared about its customers in that way. They often fly with too few fuel, a lot of corruption in the industry.
