That's the problem, you used -a lot- of time on faucets. They're not around to provide a income. Faucets are there to provide a income to the site owner (advertising revenue).  I doubt they make enough to quit work.  Freebitco.in makes 0.1 or 0.2 BTC per day, if I am not mistaken. Errr now its 0.175 BTC per day. As I mentioned in my above post, that is how much the site makes for just the bottom ad. You can find a few more google ads on the page, and so the total ad revenue should be much much higher. Is there any alternative other than Tor?
There is an extension for chrome that allowes you to visit .onion websites. But I would highly recomend do download the full TOR browser bundle and mabe even use a VPN wne using it. +1 do not use chrome to visit .onion sites, you do not want to be associated with all the sites you visited in the same way that advertising algorithms work. Sure, its was complex mission to put a person on the moon, and it could have been faked. But after ww2, they had the rocket technology (Operation Paperclip) to do the initial work. I think it is unlikely to be faked. Its generally seen as a big deal, but really, the moon is like a fish in the ocean.

I do not have any malware or key loggers on my PC according to my antivirus software. the wallet software was not even active when the transaction was supposedly executed - I launched it at around 12:45.
Windows antivirus softwares are not complete protection against malware. I've seen so many cases when antivirus software just can't see malware and block it. I administer around 500 computers, know what I'm talkig about. Linux is the only way for fairly secure computing. Anti-virus is only a 'fishing net' so to say, it may catch most of the spyware and viruses but not all. This is because, at the time a virus scanner is developed, several new viruses could be made - or they could come out after the virus scanner is released. Linux is not the only way, I think you should be good with systems like FreeBSD also. |

It depends on how much bitcoin will be worth in the future. Say you get 0.0001 BTC from a faucet, which is about 0.06 USD. Then if BTC will rise 100%, you'd have 6$ from the faucet. If that's worth your time depends completely on how much money you have Looks like you want to say "rise 100 times".  When you are comparing faucets with other ways of earning bitcoin (such as sig program), the bitcoin price is irrelevant as both the payments are in btc. Of course, when you compare it to other ways of getting btc (sig advertising, services) it is a complete waste of time. I wasnt aware faucets have decreased their payment rate. |
