No I do not think so, because it could reveal his identity - and perhaps people would go after him, I think he values his anonymity more. I doubt Satoshi is actually 1 person...Looking at the code you can pretty much see different people were working on the project.]I doubt Satoshi is actually 1 person...Looking at the code you can pretty much see different people were working on the project. Many people have been working on Bitcoin since, but version 0.0.1 looks like it's written by one - or at max five people to me. Satoshi was the guy who put all of the ideas (from the mailing list and elsewhere) together

I Think people who studied hacking and all these coding should be registered on a database so the NSA can watch them, maybe we will have less hackers in the world
This is one of the most stupid things I've ever read. I agree with you. Should people who practice locksmithing be put on a list just because they might break in/steal people's stuff? What makes you think NSA employees don't steal stuff, hack stuff and abuse the data they have? they do. This is somewhat their key mission. NSA is on the side of some corporations, not on the people - in their view, you are a bag of money to be robbed and a potential terrorist.

I've seen loads of topics of people trying to sell things and saying I want x amount of dollars worth of BTC. Surely if someone is so keen on the idea of Bitcoin fiat shouldn't even be mentioned.
They should be prepared in certain instances to take a fiat loss for their beliefs.
Because the BTC price fluctuates more fast than fiat, al though it has been very stable in the last months. I think the people are also getting used to all the units, uBTC, mBTC, bits and what not.

About a week ago my btc-e account got hacked..he bought Ltc with all my Btc and us and withdraw all (also hacke my cryptsy.com account; didn't had may btc there)..in total he withdraw about 3 btc...I think he had acces to may email aswel..although he didn't left any clue..(no mails from btc-e.com or cryptsy.com..not in spam, trash..) Don`t know how this was possible..maybe keylogger...I had bitdefender total security last version and it didn`t intercept anything..I sent ticket to btc-e.com and they sent me the log (didn't had 2fa). The ip is : 93.115.84.195 It is a VPN from Romania. What should I do next? You had a lot of money in the exchange. Not a lot you can do, except contact the VPN owner and BTC-e staff. I'm surprised your cryptsy got hacked too, are you sure you don't have a trojan in your computer? I mean the coincidence of both occurring is just very low. I recommend using desktop wallets on a non-windows computer.. be it Mac, Linux or another system, simply because the number of trojans/viruses is smaller.

Damn that's a pity... What was the answer?

Perhaps a work-around is possible, let China buy, buy from China. It would cost more, but.. still possible? Tugs in the government messing with the people as usual. No idea why EU is funding ethnic cleansing in Ukraine, I thought they didn't like Nazis

This is difficult. I am almost half way too late, treasure is empty. Quick one... Will the passphrase be a sentence that actually makes sense or just a bunch of words? From what it seems it's a bunch of words with no relation I think however this first one will be solved quickly When will the next hunt be?

Anyone wants to buy some answers? (1,2,3,6,7,8) (is this allowed? ) 0.01 BTC per answer

Tried to solve any of the 10... impossible to solve without hints I solved 5 without hints, but the game is hard

And, the first game is on ! Basically how it works is, you get different riddles and you try to figure out a Brainwallet key from those. If you find the passphrase the balance on wallet is yours. Each game starts with 0.1 BTC to win and can grow bigger If you want to give it it a try: http://www.bitcoinhunt.eu - Good luck! Nice puzzle, trying to figure out the solution has anyone won so far?

Obama claims that he is against a centralized internet, yet he.. The internet is in a way centralized, as nearly all of the communications go through the united states - or you could say, most of the communications go through europe. Eitherway see on map http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a4/Slides-nsa-prism03a-straight.jpgOf course there are city-wide darknets, but in general one could say it's geographically centralized.

Platforms like Shopify, Digital River, Stripe, WordPress and Square provide the opportunity for thousands of business owners to accept billions of dollars in sales through bitcoin. But why don't all merchants on those platforms accept bitcoin?
Bitcoin is the best way for merchants to get paid. Bitcoin helps eliminate fraud, increase market reach, eliminate security issues and reduce cost.
Bitcoin provides many features which could extend the customer market and increase profits for business. Technology always moves slow to acceptance, but it will happen eventually. I think in 5-10 years we'll see bitcoin everywhere

No site is completely free of some activity, but some require more than others. You can earn like 0.0001 BTC a week from faucets, by typing captcha codes. There are sites which allow you to view advertisements for BTC, I recall you can get 0.00006 BTC for doing that all day. There is the reddit jobs section, in which you can earn and of course the best one, bitcointalk itself

“We are not going to guess what is on Russia’s mind, but we can see what Russia is doing on the ground – and that is of great concern. Russia has amassed around 20,000 combat-ready troops on Ukraine’s eastern border,” said Oana Lungescu, a Nato spokeswoman. Any country would put troops near its border, when a war is cross border. I do not think Nato is fearful at all, just Ukraine attacking its own citizens.

I heard somewhere that Jews are the cause of the world's wars. I think Mel Gibson said it. Is he right? Seems like a rather adolescent attempt at tongue-in-cheek.
This is really not true. Religion has been the cause of many wars, but most modern wars are generally over oil and other natural resources. There is always a cost/benefit analysis in war in the top layer - and the reason is always power - but, from the citizen/media perspective it's always about other reasons, be it freedom, religion, justice and so on.

the big data make anonymity become more and more difficult.
What do you mean by "the big data"? Blockchain info? I think he means the mass surveillance program which includes data from millions of web-trackers, social networks including facebook, email services, phone conversations, instant messengers, google searches and the list goes on. All of this data is collected and accessible by employees of the NSA and private contractors without a warrant, both private and public information. To be anonymous these days you need to take extreme precautions, because there is money to be made in stalingrad surveillance systems Not even just the NSA. With Bitcoin anyone can do analysis fairly easily. Tools for data analysis are easier to use now more than ever and anyone who can code a little can take a bit data set and try to get some useful information. yes, but in relation with anonymity you need an enormous dataset which at present is only accessible to large corporations, private contractors and organisations like the NSA.

Has the use of Bitcoin for illegal things such as purchasing drugs, weapons, fraudulent documents and laundering money effected its value?
A few years ago this was the case, but these days BTC is used for so many legit purposes that it doesn't really matter. I think most of the value these days is determined by the supply/demand.

"""""A Russian crime ring has amassed the largest known collection of stolen Internet credentials, including 1.2 billion user name and password combinations and more than 500 million email addresses, security researchers say.
The records, discovered by Hold Security, a firm in Milwaukee, include confidential material gathered from 420,000 websites, including household names, and small Internet sites. Hold Security has a history of uncovering significant hacks, including the theft last year of tens of millions of records from Adobe Systems.
Even Adobe Systems doesn’t encrypt their data, this will hurt their image. There should be some laws which force companies to encrypt customer data, in the end this is damaging the economy more when it occurs - then the time it consumes to add crypto.

The bitcoin network is regulated by the network itself, and seems to do well if you compare it to the regulated bank system which continues to suffer from inflation. I do not think it needs any regulation at present, as it will be in the way of innovation.
