861  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israel Flagged as Top Spy Threat to U.S. in New Snowden/NSA Document on: August 05, 2014, 08:44:22 AM
The NSA thinks everyone is a threat, if they don't have your data you are a terrorist.  Wink Even the senate isn't safe from spying.
Their closest allies are the five eyes, not Israel.

862  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: August 05, 2014, 08:25:42 AM
...and full name registration, typical of a NATO bot.

He, he... I am a "NATO bot"! What an honour!!!  Cheesy So you didn't like my opinion..
Nacists also were certain that occupying other countries and killing people on their land is OK. Stalin also thought the same. And now Kremlin with it's propaganda has awoken Russizm. That' s not good for Ukraine, not good for Europa and not good for the World..

If all that you said were true, why then Ukrainian soldiers now cross the Russian-Ukrainian border and voluntarily surrender to Russia with whom Ukraine (according to Western mass-media) is fighting for freedom? Don't you feel that you have been deceived about the real state of the matters?

Many people are kidnapped in order to kill their own citizens, so it's only natural to escape to Russia. It is not a fight for freedom but a fight about which foreign country owns the Ukraine.
863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin = political? on: August 05, 2014, 12:03:42 AM
There are always some political motivations behind some code. Bitcoin in itself is open-source, which means Satoshi wanted people to look at the code and all the freedoms that come along with it. The general idea of bitcoin was to provide us with more freedom.. and that's what we got. Technology is really powerful.
864  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS executes 1,500 Iraqi POWs on: August 04, 2014, 11:44:15 PM
How credible is the news?

Unless they are into special effects, video looks legit.

Looks legit to me. It shows that humans can repeat whatever has happened in the past. Very disturbing.
As for why no jets yet, it is not in the interest of the US government nor economically beneficial to them to stop it.
865  Other / MultiBit / Re: Transaction shows in Wallet Section BUT has nor updated my balance ??? on: August 04, 2014, 12:08:20 PM
If blockchain shows the transaction then you have the money, the client must be out of sync. Multibit sometimes gets stuck. Did you try this option in the client "Tools -> Reset Blockchain and Transactions" ?
How many confirmations does the transaction have?
866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 2.0? on: August 04, 2014, 11:58:27 AM
Why is everyone talking about Bitcoin 2.0 if we haven't even reached version 1.0?

Pump and dump schemes, there's a lot of them in the alt coins. Bitcoin has the largest market cap at present, the other alt coins just have 10%, 1% or even less of that.
867  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-04] Does Bitcoin Need Its Own Silicon Valley? on: August 04, 2014, 11:47:35 AM
I think "Bit Valley" sounds even better than "Silicon Valley", but.. the Bitcoin network will grow either way, it's like the growth of the internet or even the growth of google search, we are the early adaptors here.  I think more investors will see the potential of the network over time.
868  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-04] Bitcoin News in Review: Bitcoin Price Drop, Dogecoin’s Decline, Ecu on: August 04, 2014, 11:44:42 AM
"Dogecoin isn’t really dead, but if things don’t change soon, Dogecoin may be on its way out."

its based on a joke. what did people expect?!

I think people expected this, a quick pump and dump, because the joke got old.
I wouldn't say there is any big bitcoin price drop, the price has been around 600$ for the at least 2 months.  Actually if you go back to feb. 2014 the price was around 600$ too.

870  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a ripple? on: August 04, 2014, 09:54:46 AM
Its some kind of payment network. There have been some threads about it on this board. There has been a lot of noise about it, but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ripple_%28payment_protocol%29

It's also some altcoin called Ripple or XRP. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=174854.0
871  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Strong democracy or strong constitution ? on: August 04, 2014, 09:47:32 AM
The choice is between Hitler, who was democratically elected
No, he never was elected democratically. He tried to get a super majority in the parliament multiple times, but failed. Then he found a proof of tax evasion by the president, used this information as a subject of blackmailing to get a post of chancellor, and later appointed himself a president. Despite it was a direct violation of constitution, I wouldn't say that it was any kind of democracy.

Indeed he was never elected democratically.
1932 Elections:
Nazi party: 36.8%
Independent: 53%
Communists: 10.2%
872  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ebola outbreak linked to secret Monkey Meat trade on: August 04, 2014, 09:40:30 AM
Never believe the Daily Mail.  They exaggerate the truth.

And lol at giraffes being listed as 'bushmeat'

This is the fucking daily mail, they WILL post anything to get you to click, that said, illegal meat trade isn't something specifically British it happens all over the world, usually some rich maniac who wants to know what monkey and giraffe tastes like.

It's not a question of them being right wing or anything, they're just fucking morons and they've even been heavily involved in the hacking scandal over here, they also have no sense of decency because they and other newspapers like the sun etc. were involved in hacking murdered peoples' parents' phones etc. or the victims themselves and I'm definitely not making that up.

The daily mail is full of junk, but that said it's plausible. Nevertheless illegal meat trade is not something specifically British, in some countries of Asia you can order a living monkey for dinner. I didn't hear about the hacking murdered peoples phones before, can you link that?
873  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Breaking News. Russia is busted with delivery of weapons to Ukraine. on: August 03, 2014, 04:40:46 PM
I will ask the OP directly: if the rebels controlling Lugansk asked for your assistance, for example by providing food packages so that they don't go hungry while shooting at the Ukrainians, would you help them?

Yes or no?

The rebels are Ukrainians too, they are born there;
Unless they're under the age of 22, I think most of them would have been born in the USSR. And how many of them are able to or bother to speak the Ukrainian language?

it's a civil war supported by foreign countries. I don't think there will be peace any time soon, especially with Nazis being supported.
The main source of funding appears to be Putin and his gas company.

To me, Ukrainian and Russian are very similar languages. I forgot about the USSR but technically they've been living in the Ukraine for the past 22 years. Nevertheless, the outcomes of this war are not going to be good for Ukraine - they will be controlled by European Union or Russia, not an independent state.

Europe wants Ukraine to be an independent nation. The conflict in the Ukraine was generally started when Ukraine signed a trade agreement with Europe that would result in the Ukraine trading with Europe more and Russia less.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, the EU couldn't care less - except for money. It could go the same path as Cyprus or Greece.

I noticed you use the /root/ directory, could it be something with access rights?

I have no experience with this, but you could check the basics,

Do you have MySQL server running?
Is the username and password correct?
876  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500,000 per Bitcoin, baby. The math behind it. on: August 03, 2014, 02:47:48 PM

i believe it will touch 10.000 but not to 500.000 k
and maybe need more year like 5 or 10 years again to touch it . because we know when diff gain price will gain. may

As much as I hope I am wrong, I don't believe it will ever go that high...That would put too many people at an extremely wealthy level, and I don't think the government wants that to happen!

How so?  You do realize there's millions of millionaires already right?  The government cares about taxes.  They don't give 2 rat shits if you've got money or not.

no, governments care about control, they can print money out of thin air, for now.

yes but they can't print gold, silver or bitcoin. If they print too much it will become an valueless currency - and that has happened before in history.

879  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dystopian reality: GameStop taking your fingerprints when trading used games on: August 03, 2014, 02:24:03 PM
This is ridiculous, I think they will lose a lot of customers. It makes no sense either - if you are a thief, why would you trade a game  Huh
I think this gives people all the more reason to pirate games.
880  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CIA admits to spying on Senate staffers on: August 03, 2014, 02:15:55 PM
Well I said in the IRS thread the most egregious offense in the Obama administration is the use of a government body to attack it's own citizens.  Since Senators are borderline civilians I guess we could feign a little outrage.  It needs to be clamped down and have some limitations set - I think Congress/Senate will only exempt themselves, however, just like they did with the ACA.
It is not that the CIA is spying on citizens (illegal) but it is that the CIA was spying on the people who provide oversight to them. It means they are preparing to potentially find "dirt" on the same people who provide checks on the CIA to only use if they were to try to check the power of the CIA.

Keep your enemies close and your friends even closer.  Very fitting statement to that effect.  Why spy on those enemies over there when I'm threatened by my own employer  Cheesy

Even the US official do not trust each other, it shows what a stable system it has become. but.. the our government needs to be spied on.  Cheesy
